ABSTRACT Purpose To investigate the immediate impact on the voice of gospel singers with and without vocal complaints after a one-hour individual presentation. Methods Application of an online questionnaire that addressed the following aspects: 1 - Sociodemographic data; 2 – Self-assessment of the ability to sing using the Evaluation of the Ability to Sing Easily (EASE-BR) protocol; 3 - Self-assessment of vocal fatigue symptoms using the Vocal Fatigue Index (VFI) protocol; and 4 - Self-assessment of voice handicap using the Voice Handicap Index 10 (VHI-10) protocol. Participants were divided into two groups: Group with Vocal Complaint (WVC) and Group with no Vocal Complaint (WnVC) based on the total score of the IDV-10. Data underwent descriptive and inferential statistical analysis with a significance level of 5%. Results The study included 43 gospel singers with a median age of 34 years: 32 were in the WnVC group and 11 were in the WVC group. The WVC group reported hoarseness and experienced more difficulty while singing in the EASE, resulting in higher scores in both the VHI-10 and VFI protocols. A positive correlation was observed between singing difficulty and vocal handicap due to fatigue in amateur gospel singers, with this correlation being stronger within the WnVC group. Conclusion After one hour of performance, singers with vocal complaints exhibited higher rates of vocal fatigue, vocal disadvantage, and greater difficulty in singing. Singers without complaints may have their ability to sing impaired by vocal fatigue. ABSTRACT Depression constitutes one of the conditions that have had some increase in college students, with notable weight in future nurses. Depression can be associated with several causes, the most common responses to this diagnosis are sadness, anger and environmental stress. The study focuses on determining the prevalence of depression and establishing the risk conditions (RC) associated with depression (AD) in future nurses at the University of Lima-Peru, 2021. For the modeling and development, correlational, cross-sectional and two-stage research was used. In a first stage, the "Zung Self-Applied Depression Scale" was analyzed in 302 future nurses for screening and prevalence of depression and in a second stage in a stratified non-probabilistic sample of 73 future nurses, where the "CR AD Questionnaire" was applied, processing the data using Excel 365 and SPS v25 programs. In obtaining the processed results, the prevalence of depression was observed in the future nurses, of which they presented mild and moderate degrees. The personal and academic RCs have a moderate association with the presence of depression, while the social and family RCs have a weak association.

RESUMEN La depresión constituye una de las afecciones que han tenido cierto incremento en los universitarios, con peso notable en las futuras enfermeras. La depresión puede estar asociada a varias causas, las respuestas más comunes ante este diagnóstico son la tristeza, el enojo y el estrés del entorno. El estudio se enfoca en determinar la prevalencia de depresión y establecer las condiciones de riesgo (CR) asociados a depresión (AD) en futuras enfermeras de la universidad de Lima-Perú, 2021. Para la modelación y desarrollo se auxilió de la investigación correlacional, transversal y bietápica. En una primera etapa se analizan en 302 futuras enfermeras la “Escala Auto aplicada de Depresión de Zung” para tamizaje y prevalencia de depresión y en una segunda etapa en muestra estratificada no probabilística de 73 futuras enfermeras, donde se aplicó el “Cuestionario de CR AD”, procesándose los datos mediante programas Excel 365 y SPS v25. En la obtención de los resultados procesados se observa en las futuras enfermeras, la prevalencia de depresión, de las cuales presentaron grado leve y moderado. Los CR personales y académicos tienen asociación moderada con la presencia de depresión, mientras que los CR sociales y familiares presentan asociación débil.

RESUMO Objetivo essa Comunicação Breve descreve coaching/coach profissional e faz um contraponto com o coaching/coach vocal. O objetivo desse artigo é trazer clareza nessas duas apresentações de coaching, contribuindo para o uso correto e diferencial dos termos em questão. Método seis professores de um curso de pós-graduação, fonoaudiólogos e/ou coaches profissionais e/ou coaches vocais reuniram-se e compartilharam suas percepções e experiências em coaching profissional ou vocal e no ensino de estratégias de coaching para profissionais que atuam na área da voz. Um quadro de semelhanças e diferenças entre as duas atribuições, tanto quando ao processo de intervenção como quanto à formação profissional. Resultados seis aspectos fundamentais foram identificados para caracterizar as apresentações de coaching profissional e vocal: credencial, atuação, processo, conhecimento básico, parceria para resultados e título profissional. Conclusão o coaching profissional é um processo estruturado que exige formação certificada, com indivíduos credenciados por associações qualificadas e tem como objetivo facilitar mudanças positivas na vida dos clientes, melhorando a qualidade do pensamento para desenvolvimento de habilidades pessoais e profissionais. Já o coaching vocal é uma função não estruturada, que não exige formação certificada, podendo ser desenvolvida por diversos profissionais da saúde ou pedagogia vocal, com o objetivo de melhorar a performance vocal e/ou comunicativa de indivíduos usuários de voz artística ou não artística, cantada ou falada. Particularmente, quanto ao coaching vocal, sugere-se a manutenção da identificação profissional pela formação acadêmica ou atuação profissional de base, acrescentando-se o termo coach vocal, como qualificador.

ABSTRACT Purpose This Brief Communication describes the professional coaching/coach counterpointed by the vocal coaching/coach. The aim is to introduce and explain these two coaching perspectives for a correct and specific use of the terms. Methods Six undergraduate professors, speech language pathologists – SLP and/or professional coaches and/or vocal coaches met and shared their perceptions and experiences in professional or vocal coaching and in teaching coaching strategies to professionals working in the voice field. A chart was set encompassing the similarities and differences between the two attributions, both in terms of the intervention process and professional training. Results Six fundamental aspects were identified to characterize the two coaching presentations, both professional and vocal, namely: credentials, performance, process, basic knowledge, partnership for results, and professional title. Conclusion Professional coaching involved a structured process that requires certified training with individuals accredited by qualified associations aiming to facilitate positive changes in clients’ lives and improve for the understanding of how personal and professional skills are developed. Conversely, vocal coaching can be characterized as an unstructured function that does not require accredited training, executable by various health or vocal pedagogy professionals for improving voice and/or communicative performance of artistic or non-artistic individuals , sung or spoken voice users. Particularly regarding vocal coaching, it is suggested that the professional is identified throughout the academic training or basic professional performance, thus adding the term vocal coach as a qualifier.

RESUMO Objetivo Identificar os fatores que influenciam a decisão do professor de canto em solicitar ajuda fonoaudiológica para seus alunos. Método Participaram do presente estudo 48 professores de canto popular, de ambos os sexos, com média de idade de 37,96 anos. Os participantes responderam via SurveyMonkey um questionário elaborado pelos pesquisadores, composto por dez perguntas, com respostas fechadas. Estas perguntas referiam-se aos motivos pelos quais o professor de canto popular busca ajuda fonoaudiológica e sobre o conhecimento desses professores a respeito da rouquidão persistente ser um sintoma de risco que identifique outro tipo de lesão na laringe. Resultados Os resultados indicaram que professores de canto buscam ajuda fonoaudiológica na presença de queixa de voz rouca e dificuldade de articulação. Para os professores avaliados, a queixa de cansaço vocal não foi fator determinante para o encaminhamento fonoaudiológico. Houve maior proporção de professores de canto que não sabiam que queixa de rouquidão por mais do que quinze dias pode ser sinal de lesão maligna de laringe. Não houve influência das variáveis idade e tempo de prática de ensino de canto dos professores de canto popular no encaminhamento para Fonoaudiólogos. Conclusão A maior parte dos professores de canto avaliados busca ajuda fonoaudiológica quando o aluno apresenta queixa de voz rouca e dificuldade de articulação dos sons da fala.

ABSTRACT Purpose To identify the parameters that influences the decision of singing teachers to seek speech-language pathology (SLP) assistance for their students. Methods The study sample comprised 48 popular-music singing teachers, male and female, aged 37.96 years on average. The participants responded to a 10 closed-question questionnaire prepared by the researchers via the SurveyMonkey platform. The questions referred to the reasons why singing teachers seek SLP assistance, as well as to the knowledge of these teachers regarding chronic hoarseness as a risk symptom to identify other lesions in the larynx. Results Singing teachers seek SLP assistance for their students in the presence of hoarseness complaints and impaired speech sound articulation. The singing teachers assessed did not consider vocal tiredness complaint as a determining factor for referral to SLP evaluation. Most study participants were not aware that a hoarseness complaint for over 15 days can be indicative of larynx tumor. There was no influence of the variables age and time of professional experience in the referral to SLP assistance. Conclusion Most of the singing teachers who participated in this study sought SLP assistance for their students when they presented hoarseness complaints and impaired speech sound articulation.

RESUMO Objetivo: Analisar e relacionar a percepção dos sintomas vocais, o conhecimento de saúde e higiene vocal em cantores populares e eruditos. Método: Participaram da pesquisa 186 cantores de ambos os sexos, na faixa etária de 17 a 60 anos, divididos em: Grupo Cantores Populares (GCP) - 104 cantores populares; Grupo Cantores Eruditos (GCE) - 82 cantores eruditos. Todos os participantes responderam a três instrumentos: o questionário de autoavaliação vocal, a Escala de Sintomas Vocais (ESV) e o Questionário de Saúde e Higiene Vocal (QSHV). Resultados: O maior número de participantes foi do sexo feminino. Os cantores eruditos apresentaram maior tempo de aula de canto. Horas de shows de 1-2 horas foi maior em número de sujeitos respondentes para os dois grupos de cantores. Os cantores eruditos apresentaram maior percepção de sintomas vocais quando comparados aos populares para os escores total e emocional da ESV. Cantores populares e eruditos não apresentaram diferenças no conhecimento em saúde e higiene vocal, ambos os grupos obtiveram valores acima da nota de corte de normalidade do QSHV. Não houve correlação entre o conhecimento em saúde e higiene vocal e os sintomas vocais em cantores. Conclusão: Cantores eruditos são mais afetados por alterações vocais, principalmente as mulheres. Os cantores obtiveram um bom grau de conhecimento em higiene vocal, não diferindo em função dos estilos. A percepção de alteração vocal em cantores populares e eruditos parece não ter relação com o grau de conhecimento de saúde e higiene vocal.

ABSTRACT Purpose: Verify the perception of popular and classical singers in relation to vocal symptoms and their possible relations regarding knowledge of health and vocal hygiene. Method: This study was composed of 242 singers, aged between 17 and 60, of both sexes. A total of 56 singers were selected, with 186 singers, divided into 104 Popular Singers Group (PSG) and 82 Classical Singers Group (CSG). All participants answered the questionnaire for identification and also vocal self-assessment, and two protocols were applied, namely: Brazilian validated version of Voice Symptom Scale - VoiSS (Escala de Sintomas Vocais - ESV) and Questionário de Saúde e Higiene Vocal (QSHV). Results: The largest number of participants was female. The classical singers presented more time of singing class than the popular ones. Show hours of 1-2 hours was higher in the number of subjects responding to both groups of singers. Classical singers presented greater perception of vocal symptoms when compared to the popular ones for total and emotional scores of the Brazilian validated version of VoiSS. The popular and classical groups do not make any difference regarding health and vocal hygiene, even though the groups obtained values above the QSHV normality score. There was no correlation between knowledge about vocal health and hygiene and vocal symptoms in singers. Conclusion: Classical singers are more affected by vocal changes, especially women. The singers obtained a good degree of knowledge in vocal hygiene, not differing about the styles. The perception of vocal alteration in popular and classical singers seems to have no relation with the degree of health knowledge and vocal hygiene.

The following research originates within the study of educational quality as an indispensable component of the education rights that every human person possesses, and the shaping mission that every university is assigned with. Hence, the connection between the academic results of university students and the teaching preparation of its faculty staff has been researched. Addressed factors include; gender, age, academic preparation, professional experience of the professors, and the students’ perception of the professors’ performance.

La presente investigación tiene origen en el estudio de la calidad educativa como componente imprescindible del derecho a la educación que posee toda persona humana y de la misión formadora que se le encarga a la institución universitaria. Por ello, se ha investigado la relación entre los resultados académicos de los estudiantes universitarios y la formación docente de su profesorado. Los factores abordados comprenden: sexo, edad, formación académica, experiencia profesional de los docentes y la percepción de los estudiantes sobre el desempeño de los mismos.

A presente investigação tem sua origem no estudo da qualidade educativa como componente imprescindível do direito à educação inerente a toda pessoa humana e da missão formadora encarregada à instituição universitária. Por esta razão, investigou-se a relação entre os resultados acadêmicos dos estudantes universitários e a formação docente do seu professorado. Os fatores abordados compreendem: sexo, idade, formação acadêmica, experiência profissional do docente e a percepção dos estudantes sobre o desempenho dos mesmos.

RESUMO Objetivo Obter informações sobre saúde e higiene vocal, sintomas vocais e desvantagem vocal de estudantes de teatro com e sem queixa de voz. Método Participaram da pesquisa 57 alunos de teatro que foram divididos em dois grupos: grupo sem queixa vocal (GSQ), composto por 39 alunos; grupo com queixa vocal (GCQ), composto por 18 alunos. Os participantes responderam a três protocolos de autoavaliação: 1. Questionário de Saúde e Higiene Vocal (QSHV); 2. Escala de Sintomas Vocais (ESV); 3. Índice de Desvantagem Vocal (IDV-10). Resultados Não houve diferença entre os grupos quanto aos conhecimentos de saúde e higiene vocal. Os estudantes de teatro do GCQ apresentaram maiores escores, mais sintomas vocais em todos os domínios do instrumento ESV e mais desvantagem vocal percebida no IDV-10 que os do GSQ. Quanto maior foi o conhecimento em saúde e higiene vocal (domínio total do QSHV), menores foram os sintomas vocais nos domínios emocional e total (ESV), e a desvantagem vocal foi percebida (domínio total do IDV-10) apenas no GCQ. Conclusão Não houve diferença quanto ao conhecimento sobre saúde e higiene vocal entre alunos de teatro com e sem queixa vocal. Contudo, os alunos de teatro com queixa vocal apresentaram mais sintomas vocais e referiram percepção de mais desvantagem vocal, aspectos esses que se correlacionaram negativamente com o conhecimento sobre saúde e higiene vocais.

ABSTRACT Purpose To gather information about vocal health and hygiene, voice symptoms, and voice handicap from drama students with and without vocal complaints. Methods A total of 57 drama students participated of this study. They were divided into two groups: no vocal complaints group (NCG), with 39 students; and with vocal complaints group (WCG), with 18 students. The participants answered to three self-assessment protocols: 1. Vocal Health and Hygiene Questionnaire (VHHQ), 2. Voice Symptom Scale (VoiSS); and 3. Voice Handicap Index (VHI-10). Results No difference was observed between groups related to the knowledge of vocal health and hygiene. The drama students from the WCG presented higher scores, more voice symptoms in all subscales of the VoiSS, and more voice handicap, e.g,higher VHI-10 scores than the NCG. The more knowledge on vocal health and hygiene (VHHQ total score) was followed by less voice symptoms, which represents lower scores in the VoiSS total score and, in emotional domain, and it was only perceived voice handicap (VHI-10 total score) in the NCG. Conclusion There was no difference in knowledge of vocal health and hygiene among drama students with and without vocal complaints. However, drama students with vocal complaints presented more voice symptoms and reported greater perception of voice handicap, which was negatively correlated with knowledge of vocal health and hygiene.

RESUMO Objetivo Verificar impacto de estratégias de coaching e de dinâmica dos grupos na voz, fala, comunicação e clima do grupo de pacientes com DP. Método Participaram 16 indivíduos com disartria leve a moderada por DP, divididos em: GC (8 pacientes), terapia tradicional (12 sessões mais 4 de reforço), e GE (8 pacientes), terapia tradicional (12 sessões) acrescida de 4 sessões de estratégias de coaching de dinâmica dos grupos. Foi aplicado questionário Vivendo com Disartria - VcD, além de autoavaliação da voz, fala e comunicação e análise perceptivo-auditiva da voz, nos momentos: pré-terapia, pós-terapia tradicional (pós 1) e pós-reforço/estratégias de coaching (pós 2); no pós 1 e 2 foi aplicado o Questionário Clima de Grupo - QCG. Resultados GC e GE apresentaram melhores escores do VcD, comparando pré com pós 1 e pós 2. A autoavaliação da voz foi melhor no GE, comparando pré com pós 2 e pós 1 com pós 2, de regular para muito boa; ambos apresentaram melhora na autoavaliação da comunicação. A análise perceptivo-auditiva foi diferente entre os grupos no pós 1, com vozes melhores no GE. Sem diferença em QCG; contudo, GE apresentou menor evitação no pós 2. Conclusão Pacientes apresentaram melhor autoavaliação da voz, fala e comunicação nas duas modalidades de terapia; GE mostrou redução na evitação, tornando o ambiente mais colaborativo e propício para a terapia fonoaudiológica.

ABSTRACT Purpose To verify the impact that group dynamics and coaching strategies have on the PD patients voice, speech and communication, as well as the group climate. Methods 16 individuals with mild to moderate dysarthria due to the PD were divided into two groups: the CG (8 patients), submitted to traditional therapy with 12 regular therapy sessions plus 4 additional support sessions; and the EG (8 patients), submitted to traditional therapy with 12 regular therapy sessions plus 4 sessions with group dynamics and coaching strategies. The Living with Dysarthria questionnaire (LwD), the self-evaluation of voice, speech and communication, and the perceptual-auditory analysis of the vocal quality were assess in 3 moments: pre-traditional therapy (pre); post-traditional therapy (post 1); and post support sessions/coaching strategies (post 2); in post 1 and post 2 moments, the Group Climate Questionnaire (GCQ) was also applied. Results CG and EG showed an improvement in the LwD from pre to post 1 and post 2 moments. Voice self-evaluation was better for the EG - when pre was compared with post 2 and when post 1 was compared with post 2 - ranging from regular to very good; both groups presented improvement in the communication self-evaluation. The perceptual-auditory evaluation of the vocal quality was better for the EG in the post 1 moment. No difference was found for the GCQ; however, the EG presented lower avoidance scores in post 2. Conclusion All patients showed improvement in the voice, speech and communication self-evaluation; EG showed lower avoidance scores, creating a more collaborative and propitious environment for speech therapy.

Abstract One of the main characteristics that plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria (PGPR) must have is good rhizosphere colonization. This study evaluates the ability of five PGPR separately and together (Bacillus-Pseudomonas), including four strains of Pseudomonas fluorescens (UM16, UM240, UM256 and UM270) and one of Bacillus thuringiensis (UM96), to colonize the rhizosphere of maize (Zea mays L.) plants. Additionally, the promoting effect of the bacterial consortium on green tomato (Physalis ixocarpa Brot. ex Horm.) seedlings was assessed. The results showed that the five strains analyzed are highly competent to colonize the rhizosphere, in addition to not presenting antagonism in vitro between them. The recovered strains were analyzed by means of their natural resistance to carbenicillin and by means of random amplified polymorphic DNA. Also, by assessing the growth-promoting effect of inoculating the strains together, only the combination of B. thuringiensis UM96 and P. fluorescens UM16 significantly improved the total fresh weight of the tomato seedlings and increased hypocotyl and root length. The P. fluorescens strains, separately, were the only ones that showed a beneficial effect on seedling development. The results showed that only the UM96-UM16 consortium had beneficial interaction with the plant, while separately the strains showed broad potential for colonizing the rhizosphere and promoting tomato plant growth.

Resumen Una de las principales características que deben presentar las rizobacterias promotoras del crecimiento vegetal (RPCV) es una buena colonización de la rizosfera. En el presente trabajo se evaluó la capacidad de colonización de la rizosfera de plantas de maíz (Zea mays L.) con cinco RPCV por separado y en conjunto (Bacillus-Pseudomonas), incluyendo cuatro cepas de Pseudomonas fluorescens (UM16, UM240, UM256 y UM270) y una de Bacillus thuringiensis (UM96). Adicionalmente, se evaluó el efecto promotor del consorcio bacteriano en plántulas de tomate verde (Physalis ixocarpa Brot. ex Horm.). Los resultados mostraron que las cinco cepas analizadas son altamente competentes para colonizar la rizosfera, además de no presentar antagonismo in vitro entre ellas. Las cepas recuperadas se analizaron por medio de su resistencia natural a carbencilina y por medio de la amplificación de fragmentos al azar de polimorfismos del ADN. Asimismo, al evaluar el efecto promotor de la inoculación de las cepas en conjunto, únicamente la combinación de B. thuringiensis UM96 y P. fluorescens UM16 mejoró significativamente el peso fresco total de las plántulas de tomate e incrementó la longitud del hipocótilo y la raíz. Las cepas de P. fluorescens, por separado, fueron las únicas que mostraron un efecto benéfico sobre el desarrollo de las plántulas. Los resultados mostraron que solamente el consorcio UM96-UM16 tuvo interacción benéfica con la planta; mientras que por separado, las cepas presentaron amplio potencial de colonización de la rizosfera y promoción del crecimiento vegetal del tomate.

Se presenta a continuación un estudio cualitativo de carácter descriptivo con un muestreo por conveniencia, que tuvo por objetivo principal: "Analizar las representaciones sociales sobre el rol de la familia que construyen los maestros de cuatro Colegios Distritales de Bogotá". Para el presente artículo se socializan los resultados obtenidos en el IED Miguel Antonio Caro de Bogotá, en donde participaron (20) veinte maestros con sus narraciones sobre su cotidianidad laboral. La comprensión de estas representaciones sociales permitió entender las razones por las cuales fracasan o aciertan las estrategias de integración de la familia a la escuela en una institución pública.

The result of a qualitative descriptive study of a convenience sample, which had the main objective is presented below: "To analyze the social representations about the role of the family that built the four district schools teachers in Bogota". For this article the results of the FDI Miguel Antonio Caro Bogota, where part (20) twenty teachers with their stories about their work everyday are socialized. Understanding these social representations allows us to understand the reasons why they fail or integration strategies are right family to school in a public institution.

O resultado de um estudo qualitativo de caráter descritivo, com uma amostra de conveniência, que teve como objetivo principal são as seguintes: "Para analisar as representações sociais sobre o papel da familia que construiu as quatro escolas professores de distrito em Bogotá". Para este artigo os resultados da FDI Miguel Antonio Caro Bogotá, onde parte (20) vinte professores com suas historias sobre seu trabalho diário são socializados. Compreender essas representações sociais nos permite compreender as razões pelas quais eles não conseguem ou estratégias de integração são família certa para a escola em uma instituição pública.
