RESUMEN Lasia pulla no se ha registrado desde su descripción en 1865 por Philippi. En este trabajo se proporcionan nuevos registros de especímenes y una descripción taxonómica actualizada. Esta especie de mosca colibrí es endémica de la Región de Los Ríos, Chile. En esta zona, muchos ecosistemas aún no han sido explorados, pero las actividades antrópicas actualmente están fragmentando los bosques siempre verdes. Se sugiere una evaluación de la Lista Roja de la UICN.

ABSTRACT Lasia pulla has not recorded since their description in 1865 by Philippi. New specimen records and an updated taxonomical description is provided here. This hummingbird fly species is endemic from the Los Ríos Region, Chile. In this area, many ecosystems are still unexplored, but anthropic activities are currently fragmenting the evergreen forests. A IUCN Red List assessment is suggested.

Abstract The biology and ecology of wedge-shaped beetles (Coleoptera: Ripiphoridae) are scarcely known in the Neotropical realm. Chilean species of this beetle family are currently represented by two genera: MacrosiagonHentz, 1830 and RipiphorusBosc, 1791, and three species, only known from their type localities. Here, we present an updated catalog of Chilean Ripiphoridae, along with the new distributional and biology records. Also, Macrosiagon flavipennisLeConte, 1866 (Ripiphorinae: Macrosiagonini) has been reported for the first time in Chile. We discuss the reasons for the presence of M. flavipennis in urban areas, the state of knowledge of the endemic species presents in Chile in relation to their distribution and the opportunity to use opportunistic records to better understand their natural history.

Abstract Thick-headed flies (Conopidae) are a family of Diptera with species that are endoparasitoids of bees and aculeate wasps. Physoconops is represented by 64 species in the Neotropical and Andean regions and distributed in many countries. Only 3 species have been described for Chile, specifically from the northern area. In this work, a new species from the Valdivian evergreen forest, Physoconops tentenvilu n. sp., is described and a new key for the Chilean species is provided. In addition, P. tentevilu represents the southernmost record of this genus in Chile. Morphological aspects are discussed, as well as hosts and distribution gaps for the Chilean Physoconops species.

Resumen Las moscas de cabeza ancha (Conopidae) son una familia de Diptera cuyas especies son parasitoides de abejas y avispas. Physoconops se encuentra representado por 64 especies en las regiones Neotropical y Andina, distribuidas en varios países. Solo 3 especies han sido registradas para Chile, especialmente para la zona norte del país. En este trabajo, se describe una especie nueva del bosque valdiviano siempreverde, Physoconops tentenvilu n. sp., y se presenta una nueva clave taxonómica para los representantes chilenos de este género. Además, P. tentenvilu representa el registro más austral conocido para este género en Chile. Se discuten aspectos morfológicos, así como los huéspedes y vacíos distribucionales para las especies chilenas de Physoconops.

ABSTRACT Myopa metallica Camras1992 is a parasitic fly, endemic to Chile, whose distribution was unknown. In this study, four new localities are reported between the Atacama and Metropolitan regions using citizen science. Our work breaks down the methodological barriers, providing a distribution for a rare and conspicuous thick-headed fly.

RESÚMEN Myopa metallica Camras, 1992 es una mosca parásita, endémica de Chile, cuya distribución era desconocida. En este estudio se reportan cuatro nuevas localidades entre la región de Atacama y Metropolitana usando ciencia ciudadana. Nuestro trabajo rompe las barreras metodológicas, proporcionando una distriución para una especie de mosca conspicua y rara.
