ABSTRACT The work analyzed elements of the professional profile and aspects of the trajectory of women university managers of higher education institutions in Ibero-America–Brazil, Argentina, Spain, Mexico, and Peru–, between 2010 and 2020. The investigation has a qualitative approach, is located in the recent history of education, and it was carried out through interviews. The collected data was analyzed according to categories in Laurence Bardin (2016). The results indicated managers with post-doctoral training for the functions of deans and area coordinators. Confrontations were found, with no indication of ways to combat them. ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the prevalence of dental caries in children from 18 months to 5 years of age in eastern (near urban centers) and western (far from urban centers) Parakanã, verify the influence of proximity to non-indigenous cultures, and compare with other ethnicities and non-indigenous. Material and Methods: The universe of children was examined by one researcher in a cross-sectional study. Descriptive analysis and the Mann-Whitney test (p<0.05) were performed. Results: It was observed that 68.8% (N = 53) of children from 18 to 36 months of age presented dmft = 0 (without caries), while 12.5% (N = 6) of children of five years of age presented this condition. For children between 18 and 36 months, the average dmft values were 0.74 (SD=1.91) for eastern children and 1.25 (SD=1.65) for western children. At five years of age, the average dmft values were 4.35 (SD=3.29) and 3.75 (SD=2.05) for eastern and western, respectively. Mann-Whitney test (p<0.05) showed no difference between East and Western children. When compared with non-indigenous Brazilian children, the values behaved similarly. Conclusion: Knowledge of the epidemiological profile of dental caries in Indigenous Parakanã children is relevant both in planning oral health actions for this population and for aggregating information, which is still scarce for Indigenous. ABSTRACT Objective: It addresses understandings of information scientists about the concept of information. Specifically, it discusses the inscriptions of these specialists in the light of Bruno Latour's political epistemology. Methods: Under a methodological approach of material semiotics, it uses the notion of “inscription” and the procedure of “translation” for the purpose of description and bibliographic analysis of the inscriptions of foreign and Brazilian specialists via questionnaire. RESUMO: Dentre as enfermidades que acometem o sistema reprodutivo dos animais domésticos, a brucelose na espécie ovina tem se destacado por gerar prejuízos econômicos significativos à ovinocultura. Dessa forma, apresenta-se como uma ameaça ao crescimento e à produtividade dos rebanhos ovinos. Diante de tal problemática, objetivou-se, por meio desta pesquisa, identificar a prevalência de brucelose ovina em rebanhos pertencentes a municípios da microrregião de Teresina, Piauí, por meio dos testes sorológicos, imunodifusão em gel de ágar (IDGA) e ensaio imunoenzimático (ELISA) indireto. Quatorze municípios foram incluídos na pesquisa. Para sua execução, colheram-se, por punção venosa da jugular, amostras sanguíneas de 521 animais púberes. Após colheita, as amostras foram submetidas às técnicas sorológicas, IDGA e ELISA indireto, para a detecção de anticorpos anti-B. ovis. Das 521 amostras submetidas ao teste de IDGA, 23 (4,41%) foram sororreagentes e 498 (95,58%) negativas. Quanto ao teste ELISA indireto, obtiveram-se 24 (4,61%) amostras suspeitas e 497 (95,39%) amostras negativas, não havendo animais reagentes neste teste, apenas suspeitos. A soroprevalência da brucelose ovina na microrregião homogênea de Teresina, Piauí, foi de 4,41%. Assim, foi possível identificar ovinos com sorologia reagente à infecção por B. ovis, presente em municípios do estado do Piauí. Além disso, a IDGA mostrou-se mais sensível em detectar animais que tiveram contato com o agente etiológico da doença.

ABSTRACT: Among the diseases that affect the reproductive system of domestic animals, brucellosis in the sheep species is important because it generates significant economic losses to sheep rearing. Thus, it is a threat to the growth and productivity of sheep herds. In the face of this problem, the objective of the present research was to identify the prevalence of ovine brucellosis in herds in municipalities of the Teresina, Piauí, Brazil microregion by using the agar gel immunodiffusion assay (AGID) and indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) serological tests. Fourteen municipalities were included in the research. Blood samples were collected from 521 pubescent animals by puncturing the jugular vein. After collection, the samples were submitted to the serological techniques, AGID and indirect ELISA, to detect anti B. ovis antibody. Of the 521 samples submitted to the AGIDtest, 23 (4.41%) were sera reagent and 498 (95.58%) negative. The indirect ELISA tests, 24 (4.61%) suspect samples and 497 (95.39%) negative samples were obtained, and there were no reagent animals in this test, only suspect. The seroprevalence of ovine brucellosis in the Teresina, Piauí microregion was 4.41%. Thus, it is possible to identify sheep with reagent serology to infection by B. ovis, that is present in municipalities in the state of Piauí, Brazil. Furthermore, AGIDwas shown to be more sensitive in detecting animals that had had contact with the etiological agent of the disease.

RESUMO Análise da produção de artigos científicos sobre o tema Língua Brasileira de Sinais (Libras) no período de 1987 a 2014. A escolha do período ocorreu em função da comparação entre a produção de artigos sobre o tema antes e depois da promulgação da lei nº 10.436/2002, que reconheceu a Língua Brasileira de Sinais (Libras) como meio de comunicação dos surdos. A metodologia adotada foi de cunho quantitativo, com a adoção de técnicas bibliométricas para medir a produção em Libras. A pesquisa teve como corpus de investigação a citada produção científica declarada pelos pesquisadores em seus respectivos currículos disponibilizados na Plataforma Lattes. Foram identificados 102 autores e 241 artigos de periódicos. Verificou-se um aumento de títulos de doutores após a promulgação da Lei de Libras. A produção de 241 artigos de periódicos foram produzidos por 102 autores. Os títulos de periódicos que mais publicaram artigos sobre Libras estão ligados à instituição especializada como o Instituto Nacional de Educação de Surdos (INES), Linguística, Estudos Linguísticos e Educação. Mesmo em uma temática com pouco tempo de existência constatou-se significativo crescimento na publicação de artigos sobre o tema, cerca de 417%, após a promulgação da lei de Libras. Portanto, conclui-se que ocorreu um reflexo positivo para o desenvolvimento da área depois da promulgação da lei de Libras.

ABSTRACT The production of scientific papers on the subject Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) from 1987 to 2014 has been analysed. The timeframe was chosen due to the need to compare the articles published on the subject before and after the enactment of law No. 10.436 / 2002, which recognized the Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) as a means of communication of the deaf. The methodology used was quantitative, with the adoption of bibliometric techniques to measure production in pounds. The research was corpus investigation cited scientific production declared by the researchers in their respective curriculum available in the Lattes Platform. They identified 102 authors and 241 journal articles. Even in a subject with little time of existence found a significant increase in the publication of articles on the subject, about 417% after the enactment of Libras law. Therefore, it is concluded that there was a positive impact to the development of the area after the promulgation of the law.

Resumo Introdução: Os exercícios de fortalecimento dos músculos do pavimento pélvico (EFMPP) são considerados a primeira intervenção no tratamento da incontinência urinária de esforço (IUE); porém, não existe evidência sobre os parâmetros de treino. Objetivo: Identificar o protocolo e/ou os parâmetros de treino mais eficazes no tratamento da IUE feminina. Método: A pesquisa bibliográfica foi realizada entre janeiro de 1992 e março de 2014 nas bases de dados PubMed, Cochrane Library, PEDro, Web of Science e Lilacs. Os artigos incluídos eram de língua inglesa, estudos experimentais, comparando EFMPP com tratamento placebo, usual ou sem tratamento, com idade compreendida entre 18 e 65 anos e diagnóstico de IUE. A avaliação da qualidade metodológica foi realizada por meio da escala PEDro. Resultados: Sete artigos de elevada qualidade metodológica foram incluídos na presente revisão. A amostra foi constituída por 331 mulheres, com idade média de 44,4±5,51 anos, duração média das perdas urinárias de 64±5,66 meses e gravidade da IUE variando entre ligeira e grave. Os programas de EFMPP eram distintos relativamente aos parâmetros de treino dos MPP. Alguns estudos incluíram treino abdominal e técnicas adjuvantes. A taxa de cura da quantidade de perda urinária variou entre 28,6 e 80%, enquanto o aumento da força dos MPP variou de 15,6 a 161,7%. Conclusão: O protocolo de treino mais eficaz consiste nos EFMPP por palpação digital e supervisão combinados com biofeedback e cones vaginais, incluindo os parâmetros de treino de 12 semanas de duração, dez repetições por série e em distintas posições comparados com os EFMPP isolados ou sem tratamento.

Summary Introduction: Strengthening exercises for pelvic floor muscles (SEPFM) are considered the first approach in the treatment of stress urinary incontinence (SUI). Nevertheless, there is no evidence about training parameters. Objective: To identify the protocol and/or most effective training parameters in the treatment of female SUI. Method: A literature research was conducted in the PubMed, Cochrane Library, PEDro, Web of Science and Lilacs databases, with publishing dates ranging from January 1992 to March 2014. The articles included consisted of English-speaking experimental studies in which SEPFM were compared with placebo treatment (usual or untreated). The sample had a diagnosis of SUI and their age ranged between 18 and 65 years. The assessment of methodological quality was performed based on the PEDro scale. Results: Seven high methodological quality articles were included in this review. The sample consisted of 331 women, mean age 44.4±5.51 years, average duration of urinary loss of 64±5.66 months and severity of SUI ranging from mild to severe. SEPFM programs included different training parameters concerning the PFM. Some studies have applied abdominal training and adjuvant techniques. Urine leakage cure rates varied from 28.6 to 80%, while the strength increase of PFM varied from 15.6 to 161.7%. Conclusion: The most effective training protocol consists of SEPFM by digital palpation combined with biofeedback monitoring and vaginal cones, including 12 week training parameters, and ten repetitions per series in different positions compared with SEPFM alone or a lack of treatment.

O estudo com substâncias derivadas de plantas com potencial no controle de pragas justifica-se pela necessidade de se identificar compostos menos agressivos ao meio ambiente. Extratos do cajuzinho-do-cerrado, Anacardium humile têm mostrado potencial como inseticida sobre alguns insetos. A cigarrinha-das-raízes, Mahanarva fimbriolata é considerada praga importante na cultura da cana-de-açúcar, ocasionando danos severos e sensível redução na produção. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito do extrato aquoso de Anacardium humile, nas concentrações 0,05; 0,4 e 1,0%, sobre M. fimbriolata, em cana-de-açúcar. A ação do extrato aquoso resultou em mortalidade ninfal de 53,1% na concentração 1,0%, valor significativamente superior aquele verificado na testemunha negativa. O período ninfal e longevidade de M. fimbriolata, no entanto, não foram afetados pelo extrato aquoso.

The study of plant-derived substances for the control of insect pests is desirable in the attempt to discover less toxic insecticides that are safe for the environment. Indeed, extracts from the cashew of the savannah, Anacardium humile, have shown insecticidal activities against certain insects. The sugarcane root spittlebug Mahanarva fimbriolata is considered an important pest of sugarcane, causing severe damage and significant yield reductions. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the aqueous extract of A. humile (0.05, 0.4 and 1.0%) on M. fimbriolata. The application of the aqueous extract of Anacardium humile resulted in 53.1% nymphal mortality at a concentration of 1.0%, which was significantly higher than that observed in the negative control. The nymphal period and longevity of M. fimbriolata, however, were not affected by the aqueous A. humile extract.

A produção do conhecimento científico tem sido realizada por meio de experiências que privilegiam a contribuição de saberes, provenientes de diferentes áreas. O presente artigo tem como finalidade apresentar as principais modalidades de interação que ocorrem na prática da pesquisa científica - multidisciplinaridade, interdisciplinaridade e transdisciplinaridade -, tendo, como referência, a literatura produzida no âmbito da ciência da informação. Pesquisadores contemporâneos de outras áreas contribuem para embasar essas teorias, cuja evolução provocou grandes mudanças nos significados desses termos. A pesquisa completa, da qual este artigo é parte, analisou a produção científica da ciência da informação no Brasil, traçando um perfil da pesquisa na área, relativamente à utilização dessas abordagens, concluindo-se que diferentes formas e níveis de interações são encontrados nas pesquisas desenvolvidas na Ciência da Informação, sendo a multidisciplinaridade a mais comum. Conclui-se, ainda, que a situação terminológica atual requer uma atualização desses conceitos, principalmente no âmbito da Ciência da Informação, para uma maior conscientização das implicações de ser uma ciência contemporânea, que se reconhece interdisciplinar.

The production of scientific knowledge has been carried through experiences that emphasize the contribution of knowledge from different areas. This article aims to present the main modalities of interaction that occur in the practice of scientific research - multidisciplinarity, interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity - having as reference the literature produced in the scope of information science. Contemporary researchers from other fields contribute to the basement of these theories, whose development has caused major changes in the meanings of these terms.The complete investigation, of which this article is part, examined the scientific production of information science in Brazil, tracing a profile of research in the area regarding the use of these approaches, concluding itself that different forms and levels of interactions are found in his research Information Science, being multidisciplinarity the most common. It concludes also that the terminological current situation requires an update of these concepts, mainly in the context of information science, to a greater awareness of the implications of being a contemporary science recognized as interdisciplinar.

Apresenta a nova proposta para os cursos de graduação em Biblioteconomia e Gestão da Informação, Arquivologia e Museologia da Escola de Ciência da Informação da UFMG. Propõe-se um tronco comum de atividades acadêmicas da área de ciência da informação para os três cursos, acrescidas pelas atividades obrigatórias, optativas e complementares livres. A intenção é que os alunos das três formações cursem o tronco comum em turmas mescladas e que as atividades específicas já se iniciem no segundo período, para que o aluno tenha clareza das especificidades do curso e da profissão por ele escolhidos. Os cursos prevêem articulação com outros cursos da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, garantindo assim a interdisciplinaridade e flexibilização curricular. O aluno torna-se co-autor na montagem da sua grade curricular e conseqüentemente da sua formação.

Constatou-se parasitismo em amostras de ovos de cigarrinhas-das-pastagens coletadas em pastagens de Brachiaria decumbens, pelo microhimenóptero Anagrus urichi Pickles, constituindo-se no primeiro registro dessa natureza para o Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul. O índice de parasitismo observado foi de 10,4%, sendo que, em média, emergiram 4,7 parasitóides por ovo. A exposição de 100 ovos da cigarrinha Notozulia entreriana (Berg), obtidos em laboratório, a oito desses parasitóides, resultou em 13% de parasitismo, indicando a possibilidade de multiplicação desse inimigo natural em laboratório.

Egg parasitism by the microhymenopteran Anagrus urichi Pickles was found on samples of spittlebug eggs collected in Brachiaria decumbens pasture. It is the first record of spittlebug egg parasitism for the State of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. The rate of 10.4% of parasitism was observed in 1688 spittlebug eggs, comprising seven samples. On average, 4.7 wasps emerged from each parasitized egg. Thirteen percent of parasitism were observed when 100 eggs of the spittlebug Notozulia entreriana (Berg), obtained in the laboratory, were exposed to eight of these parasitoids. It is anticipated the possibility of mass rearing A. urichi.

O artigo apresenta revisão bibliográfica sobre a atuação do psicólogo frente aos transtornos globais do desenvolvimento infantil, especificamente sobre autismo infantil, síndrome de Asperger e síndrome de Rett. Inicialmente, apresenta-se uma noção do desenvolvimento infantil, e, então, abordam-se possíveis transtornos, com suas respectivas definições, etiologias, critérios diagnósticos, diagnóstico diferencial e tratamento. Durante o processo de intervenção e prevenção junto à criança, destacam-se a importância do psicólogo no tratamento e a eficácia dos recursos psicoterápicos para a melhora de qualidade de vida da criança com a síndrome.

The authors review the literature about the psychologist’s performance in relation to the global disruptions of the infantile development, specifically about: infantile autism, Asperger and Rett syndromes. Firstly, this work presents the infantile development view, and then it approaches the possible disruptions with its definitions, etiologies, diagnostic criterions, different diagnostics and treatment. During this intervention and prevention process with the child, stands out the importance of the psychologist action in the treatment and the effectiveness of the psychotherapy methods that might improve the life quality of the child with the syndrome.

OBJETIVO: Detectar diferenças nas prevalências das dislipidemias em adultos da demanda laboratorial de três diferentes prestadores de assistência médica, em Salvador, 1995. MÉTODOS: Estudo seccional, clínico epidemiológico, baseado em resultados das dosagens de lípides séricos de uma amostra probabilística de 25% dos 104 laboratórios que usavam o mesmo método de dosagem e o mesmo padrão para controle de qualidade. O critério de dislipidemia foi o do II Consenso Brasileiro de Dislipidemias para adultos. Os resultados foram agrupados conforme procedência: Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), convênios (C) e seguros privados + particulares (SP). Análise: prevalência com intervalos de confiança (IC) a 95%, e teste do chi². RESULTADOS: Dos 5.464 adultos com menção da procedência, 14,8% foram do SUS, 31,6% dos C e 53,6% dos S+P. As mais elevadas prevalências de hipercolesterolemia - 28,0% (IC 24,0; 32,0) e de LDL-c elevado - 30,4% (IC 27,6; 33,2) foram detectadas no grupo C. No grupo S+P concentraram-se as maiores prevalências de HDL-c anormal - 12,3% (IC 10,0; 13,8) e hipertrigliceridemia - 17,8% (IC 16,3; 19,3). Quase todas as diferenças entre as prevalências foram estatisticamente significantes, favoráveis às taxas mais baixas do SUS. CONCLUSÃO: O melhor perfil lipídico do grupo SUS sugere diferenças sociais nas prevalências das dislipidemias. Para os três prestadores de assistência, a prevalência do HDL-c <35mg/dL foi baixa quando comparada às das demais dislipidemias. Os resultados podem ser inferidos para a prática médica dos respectivos prestadores de assistência e indicam a necessidade de informação e de orientação dos usuários para redução das dislipidemias e melhoria do estilo de vida.

OBJECTIVE: To detect differences in the prevalence of dyslipidemia in adult ambulatory laboratory tests from three different health care providers, in Salvador-Brazil, 1995. METHODS: The study was carried out using a probabilistic sample of 24 out of 104 laboratories (<FONT FACE=Symbol>@</FONT>25%) which performed the same enzymatic method for lipid tests with the same quality control. Laboratory tests results were separated into three groups, according to health care provider: Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS, governamental), Health Maintenance Organizations (HMO), and Private or Patients Health Insurance (PHI). Criteria for dyslipidemias in mg/dL were: total cholesterol > or = 240; LDL-c > or = 160; HDL-c <35 and triglycerides > or = 200. Prevalence rates, 95% confidence intervals (CI) and chi² test were used in the analysis. RESULTS: From the 5464 adult subjects, 14.8% were from SUS, 31.6%. from HMO and 53.6% PHI. The highest prevalence for hypercholesterolemia - 28.0% (CI 24.0; 32.0) and for LDL-c > or = 160mg/dL - 30.4% (CI 27.6; 33.2), were found in the HMO group. PHI had the highest prevalence for HDL-c <35mg/dL - 12.3% (CI 10.0; 13.8), and for hypertrygliceridemia - 17.8% (CI 16.3; 19.3). Most of the differences among health providers were statistically significant. CONCLUSION: The best lypid profile observed in subjects from SUS suggests social differences in the prevalence of dyslipidemias. As compared to other dyslipidemias, HDL-c <35mg/dL prevalence was lower than expected in all three groups. The data may provide insights to medical doctors and other health care professionals regarding the questions of dyslipidemias. It can also provide objective information to the patients and encourage them to change their life styles.
