RESUMO O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito do biochar de torta de filtro como condicionador de solo e sua influência no crescimento e na fisiologia de macaúba, araçá e cajuzinho do cerrado. Os experimentos foram montados na Fazenda Hamilton de Abreu Navarro da UFMG, onde foram avaliados o efeito de quatro doses de biochar de torta de filtro (1%, 2%, 4% e 8% v/v) e dois tratamentos controle: um com correção do solo e adubação mineral, e o outro sem adubação. Para acompanhar o desempenho das mudas, foram realizadas avaliações aos 30, 60 e 120 dias após o transplantio, dos parâmetros fisiológicos (fotossíntese, transpiração, condutância estomática, CO2 consumido, carbono interno e taxa de transporte de elétrons), e morfológicos (altura e diâmetro), aos 30, 60, 90 e 120 dias após o transplantio. Aos 120 dias, avaliou-se a produção de biomassa seca da parte aérea, de raízes e total. Para a macaúba, a aplicação de biochar, na dose de 2%, favoreceu a sua fotossíntese. Já para o araçá, aos 30 dias após o transplantio, o tratamento sem adubação foi melhor para a maioria das variáveis, entretanto os tratamentos com biochar também tiveram resultados satisfatórios. O cajuzinho do cerrado também respondeu positivamente à aplicação de biochar em todas as doses. As variáveis fisiológicas e morfológicas responderam bem aos tratamentos sem adubação e com aplicação de biochar ao solo. ABSTRACT Some native species of the Cerrado have great ecological and economic potential. An alternative that aims to contribute to the good performance of post-planting plants is the incorporation of biochar into the soil. The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of filter cake biochar as a soil conditioner and its influence on the growth and physiology of macaúba, araçá and cajuzinho do cerrado. Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of filter cake biochar on the chemical and microbiological attributes of a dystrophic red-yellow latosol cultivated with macaúba (Acrocomia aculeata), araçá (Psidium firmum) and cajuzinho do cerrado (Anacardium humile), species native to the Cerrado. Resumo Este estudo foi realizado em quatro cepas de mosquitos Aedes aegypti da cidade de Mossoró, Rio Grande do Norte, com o intuito de avaliar os perfis de atividade enzimática e correlacioná-los com os mecanismos bioquímicos de resistência a inseticidas. Mosquitos foram utilizados para quantificar as seguintes enzimas de detoxificação: oxidase de Função Mista (MFO), PNPA-esterase (PNPA-EST) e acetilcolinesterase (AChE). Os perfis das populações foram comparados estatisticamente com os da cepa Rockefeller por meio do teste de Kruskal-Wallis e do de comparações múltiplas de Dunn (p < 0,05). O percentil 99 dos valores de atividade enzimática da cepa referência foi calculado para cada enzima, e o percentual de indivíduos acima desse valor foi quantificado. As atividades enzimáticas foram classificadas como “Inalterada” (< 15%), “Alteração Identificada” (> 15% e < 50%), e “Substancialmente Alterada” (> 50%). A análise estatística revelou diferenças significativas nos perfis de MFO e AChE, que são fundamentais na determinação de perfis de resistência a inseticidas. Três populações foram classificadas como “Substancialmente Alteradas” para MFO. O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar o efeito de diferentes métodos de quebra de dormência e o uso do bagaço de cana para composição de substratos alternativos, constituídos a partir da mistura de um substrato comercial, na produção de mudas de canafístula (Peltophorum dubium (Sprengel) Taubert). O experimento foi conduzido em delineamento de blocos casualizados, no esquema fatorial 5 x 4, sendo cinco substratos, Bioplant®; 75% Bioplant® + 25% Bagaço de cana (75B+25BC); 50% Bioplant® + 50% Bagaço de cana (50B+50BC); 25% Bioplant® + 75% Bagaço de cana (25B+75BC); Bagaço de cana (100%), e quatro métodos de quebra de dormência (testemunha, escarificação com o uso de lixa, imersão em água quente e escarificação com ácido sulfúrico) com três repetições. Foram avaliados o índice de velocidade de emergência (IVE); o tempo médio de emergência (TME); a percentagem de germinação; a altura da parte aérea; o diâmetro do coleto; a massa seca da parte aérea; a massa seca de raiz; a massa seca total; a relação altura da parte aérea/diâmetro do coleto; a relação altura da parte aérea/massa seca da parte aérea; o índice de qualidade de Dickson; a taxa de crescimento absoluto e a taxa de crescimento relativo. Os tratamentos de imersão em água quente e de escarificação com ácido sulfúrico foram responsáveis pelos maiores percentuais de emergência e IVE, além dos de menor TME. O uso do bagaço de cana mostrou-se tecnicamente viável na composição dos substratos 75B+25BC e 50B+50BC, que, juntamente ao Bioplant®, proporcionaram as maiores taxas de crescimento e os maiores índices de qualidade das mudas de canafístula.

This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different methods to break dormancy and the use of sugarcane bagasse in the composition of alternative substrates made from a mixture of commercial substrate, in canafistula (Peltophorum dubium (Sprengel) Taubert) seedling production The experiment was carried out in randomized blocks in a 4 x 5factorial design, with five substrates, Bioplant®; 75% Bioplant® + 25% sugarcane bagasse (75B+25BC); 50% Bioplant® + 50% sugarcane bagasse (50B+50BC); 25% Bioplant® + 75% sugarcane bagasse (25B+75BC), sugar cane bagasse (100%) and four methods of breaking dormancy (control, scarification with sandpaper, immersion in hot water and scarification with sulfuric acid) with three replications. The emergence index (IVE), mean emergence time (TME), emergence percentage, shoot height, diameter of the collar; shoot dry weight, root dry weight, total dry weight, the shoot height:diameter of the colla ratio and shoot height:shoot dry weight ratio; Dickson quality index, absolute growth rate and relative growth rate. The treatments of immersion in hot water and sulfuric acid scarification were responsible for the highest percentages of emergence and IVE, and the lowest TME. The use of sugarcane bagasse proved to be technically feasible in the composition of substrates 75B+25BC and 50B+50BC, where they, along with the Bioplant®, provided the highest growth rates and quality score for canafistula seedlings.

O umbuzeiro é uma espécie nativa do Nordeste brasileiro e norte do Estado de Minas Gerais, cujos frutos apresentam grande aceitação no mercado. Entretanto, a propagação em larga escala da espécie é dificultada pela lenta e desuniforme germinação das sementes, exigindo o uso de técnicas de propagação vegetativa. O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar o efeito da aplicação de ácido indolbutírico (AIB) e diferentes tipos de substratos na propagação vegetativa de umbuzeiro, via técnica de alporquia. O experimento foi desenvolvido utilizando-se onze matrizes de Spondias tuberosa (umbuzeiro) e delineamento de blocos casualizados, com quatro repetições, em esquema fatorial 5x3, sendo avaliados o efeito de cinco doses de AIB (0 mg L-1, 1.000 mg L-1, 2.000 mg L-1, 4.000 mg L-1 e 6.000 mg L-1) e três tipos de substratos (Bioplant®, vermiculita e bagaço de cana). Os ramos selecionados foram anelados e, posteriormente, aplicadas as soluções concentradas de AIB. Aos 180 dias, foram mensurados a percentagem de alporques enraizados, com calo e com primórdios radiculares, número de raízes por alporque, comprimento da maior raiz e massa fresca e seca das raízes. A utilização de 6.000 mg L-1 de AIB promoveu maior crescimento e desenvolvimento do sistema radicular dos alporques. O uso do bagaço de cana é recomendado, por se tratar de insumo de fácil obtenção, na região em estudo, além de apresentar características químicas e físicas adequadas.

Spondias tuberosa is a native species from the Brazilian Northeast and northern Minas Gerais State, whose fruits present good market acceptance. However, its large scale propagation is affected by slow and uneven seeds germination, demanding the use of vegetative propagation techniques. This study aimed at evaluating the effect of indolebutyric acid (IBA) application and different kinds of substrate on the vegetative propagation of Spondias tuberosa by layering. The experiment consisted of eleven Spondias tuberosa arrays and a randomized blocks design with four replications, in a 3x5 factorial scheme, in order to evaluate the effect of five IBA doses (0 mg L-1; 1,000 mg L-1; 2,000 mg L-1; 4,000 mg L-1; and 6,000 mg L-1) and three substrates (Bioplant®, vermiculite and sugarcane bagasse). The selected branches were ringed and, subsequently, the concentrated IBA solutions were applied. At 180 days, the percentage of rooted and callous layers, percentage of layers with primordium roots, number of roots per layer, length of the longest root and root fresh and dry weight were evaluated. The use of 6,000 mg L-1 of IBA promoted a higher growth and development of radicular layers. The use of sugarcane bagasse is recommended, for being easy to get, in the study area, besides presenting adequate chemical and physical features.
