Abstract This work, which focuses on Ethnomathematics in Initial Teacher Training for Mathematics teachers, is part of a doctoral thesis entitled Ethnomathematics in the training of Mathematics teachers: challenges and potential and aims to analyze the challenges and potentialities related to the institutionalization of this perspective in Mathematics Education in training courses. To this end, public Mathematics Teaching degree programs in the State of Rio Grande do Sul were delimited, and 18 Pedagogical Projects of the Courses (PPC) from seven Higher Education Institutions (HEI) were analyzed. Using Content Analysis (CA) as the methodological support, from the perspective of Laurence Bardin, the profile of the graduate and the curricular components were analyzed, aiming to understand not only the presence or absence of Ethnomathematics in the courses but also whether the ethnomathematical proposals for the future teacher are considered in the training process. Resumo Este trabalho, cuja temática aborda a Etnomatemática na Formação Inicial de Professores de Matemática, é parte da tese de doutorado intitulada A Etnomatemática na formação de professores de Matemática: desafios e potencialidades e tem como objetivo analisar os desafios e as potencialidades em relação à institucionalização dessa perspectiva em Educação Matemática nos cursos formativos. Resumo Este artigo analisa dinâmicas e processos psíquicos subjacentes aos conflitos judicializados sob a nomeação de alienação parental, através de três estudos de caso, à luz da psicanálise. O litígio vivenciado pela criança reflete seus embaraços com o Outro na busca por respostas aos seus enigmas e afetos, em meio à guerrilha daqueles que se ocupam das funções parentais. Abstract This article analyses the dynamics and psychological processes underlying judicialized conflicts that are known as parental alienation, examining three case studies in the light of psychoanalysis. The litigation experienced by the child reflects their embarrassments with the Other in their search for answers to their enigmas and affections, amid guerrilla warfare between those who occupy parental roles. The study pinpoints the pathways required to understand parental alienation: in a socio-historical journey through how parental and marital ties are conceived and recreated; in a passage through the grief that the subjects suffer during family reconstitution; and through a rereading of the phenomenon focused on the uniqueness of the symptom. RESUMO O papel dos protetores de ferida operatória em cirurgias laparoscópicas é bastante controverso na literatura. Alguns estudos demonstram seu benefício na redução da taxa de infeções de sítio cirúrgico, porém esses resultados não são reprodutíveis em todos os procedimentos. Além da proteção da ferida operatória, esses dispositivos podem ser utilizados nos sítios de extração de peças cirúrgicas em procedimentos laparoscópicos. ABSTRACT The role of wound protectors in laparoscopic surgeries is highly controversial in the literature. Some studies demonstrate their benefit in reducing the rate of surgical site infections; however, these results are not reproducible across all procedures. In addition to protecting the operative wound, these devices can be used at sites of surgical specimen extraction in laparoscopic procedures. Resumo Introdução: Devido a infecção congênita, a criança com microcefalia possui grandes limitações de sua condição de saúde. Estas limitações fazem com que a criança necessite de maior atenção de saúde e domiciliar. Geralmente, a mãe torna-se cuidadora principal desta criança, esse papel pode levar a sobrecarga com prejuízos em sua qualidade de vida. Objetivo: Analisar sobrecarga do cuidado e a qualidade de vida de mães ou cuidadoras principais de crianças com microcefalia relacionada à infecção congênita. Método: Estudo transversal, correlacional, realizado com 105 participantes do estado de Sergipe, Brasil, durante o período de outubro de 2017 a abril de 2018, através da aplicação questionários: sociodemográfico, WHOQOL-Bref e Sobrecarga do cuidador. Para análise estatística foram utilizados testes ANOVA, teste t e Person (r). Resultados: A totalidade dos participantes era do sexo feminino, 39 % foram classificadas com sobrecarga severa e 30,5% com sobrecarga intensa. A média total da sobrecarga (49,47) indica classificação de moderada à severa. Houve uma forte associação (p<0,0001) entre os níveis de sobrecarga e os domínios da qualidade de vida, sendo o de maior prejuízo o ambiental (36,57) e o físico (38,53). Foi observada uma correlação significativa e inversamente proporcional (r=-0,547, p<0,0001) entre a qualidade de vida e a sobrecarga do cuidador. Conclusão: As mães sofrem sobrecarga severa e intensa que pode levar a repercussões negativas em sua qualidade de vida. A enfermagem pode contribuir na criação e implementação de linhas de cuidados específicas para estas mulheres com ênfase na promoção da saúde física, mental e melhora da qualidade de vida.

Resumen Introducción: Debido a la infección congénita, las niñas y los niños con microcefalia tienen grandes limitaciones en su estado de salud. Estas limitaciones hacen que necesiten más atención sanitaria y domiciliaria. Generalmente, la madre se convierte en la principal cuidadora y este papel puede llevar a la sobrecarga, con perjuicio para su calidad de vida. Objetivo: Analizar la sobrecarga de cuidado y la calidad de vida de las madres o personas cuidadoras primarias de niñas o niños con microcefalia, relacionada con infección congénita. Método: Estudio transversal, correlacional realizado con 105 participantes del estado de Sergipe, Brasil, de octubre de 2017 a abril de 2018, a través de la aplicación de los siguientes cuestionarios: sociodemográfico, el WHOQOL-Bref y escala de sobrecarga del cuidador. Para el análisis estadístico, se utilizaron ANOVA, prueba t y prueba Person (r). Resultados: Población totalmente femenina. El 39 % se clasificó con sobrecarga severa y el 30.5 % con sobrecarga intensa. La sobrecarga media total (49.47) indica una clasificación de moderada a grave. Abstract Introduction: Due to congenital infection, children with microcephaly have great limitations due to this condition. These limitations make the child need more health and home care. Generally, the mother becomes the main caretaker for this child, this role can lead to overload feelings that affect their quality of life. Objective: To analyze the role overload and the quality of life of mothers or primary caregiver of children with microcephaly related to congenital infection. Method: Cross-sectional, correlational study carried out with 105 participants from the state of Sergipe, Brazil, during the period from October 2017 to April 2018, through the application of questionnaires: sociodemographic, WHOQOL-Bref, and caregiver burden. For statistical analysis, ANOVA, t-test, and Pearson (r) tests were used. Results: All of the participants were females, 39 % were classified with severe role overload and 30.5% with intense role overload. The total average of this caregiver burden (49.47) presents a moderate to severe classification. There was a strong correlation (p<0.0001) between the levels of their role overload and the domains of their quality of life, where the greatest damage was in the environmental (36.57) and physical (38.53) aspects. A significant and inversely proportional correlation (r=-0.547, p<0.0001) was observed between the quality of life and the caregiver burden. Conclusion: Mothers suffer severe and intense caregiver overload that has a negative influence on their quality of life. Nursing can contribute to the creation and implementation of specific lines of care for these women emphasizing the promotion of physical and mental health to improve their quality of life.

Abstract The Latin American Integration Route (RILA) and the Bioceánico Corridor emerge as important integration initiatives that can bring significant benefits to the countries through which the Corridor passes, Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina and Chile, in the economic field, based on the context of economic human rights, to observe the behavior of agents, and their compliance with the values of decent living conditions. In this context, this article aimed to analyze the right of integration into the RILA and the Bioceânico Corridor, seeking to understand the legal and institutional aspects involved, with a focus on the economic impact. ABSTRACT In this work, we sought to minimize electricity costs in the coffee bean drying process by carrying out the theoretical sizing of the economic viability of the Photovoltaic Power plant (PVP) ongrid used to supply a Dryer Unit (DU). The methodology consisted of adequate sizing of a PVP generation plant to promote the electric energy balance. It used economic indicators such as internal rate of return, discounted payback, and net present value. Two scenarios were considered: a pessimistic with DU use on-peak period; and an optimistic with full use of the DU during the off-peak period. It was considered local electricity tariff values, and the results indicated the economic feasibility for the PVP installation also the feasibility of the dryer use in both scenarios, there are no restrictions on operating hours. It can be concluded that it is essential to understand the Brazilian electricity bill legislation because only in this way is it possible to properly develop the on-grid photovoltaic power plant projects. Resumen Objetivo Analizar el perfil de las reacciones transfusionales inmediatas notificadas en niños y adolescentes internados en un hospital de alta complejidad. Métodos Estudio documental retrospectivo, con análisis de 287 Fichas de Notificación, donde se reportaron reacciones transfusionales en niños y adolescentes de cero a 18 años, ocurridas en el período de enero de 2007 a mayo de 2021, en un servicio de hemovigilancia de un hospital universitario de carácter filantrópico, de alta complejidad, ubicado en la ciudad de São Paulo. Resultados De las 287 fichas analizadas, el 42,5 % de las reacciones fue observada en adolescentes (entre 12 y 18 años) y el 83,6 % sucedió en la primera transfusión. Las manifestaciones clínicas más comunes fueron lesiones en la piel e hipertermia. Cerca del 50 % de las reacciones ocurrió en pacientes con leucemia o anemia, y el componente sanguíneo asociado fue el concentrado de eritrocitos. Abstract Objective To analyze the profile of immediate transfusion incidents reported in children and adolescents hospitalized in a high complexity general hospital. Methods This is a documentary and retrospective study that analyzed 287 notification records, reporting transfusion reactions in children and adolescents from zero to 18 years of age, occurred from January 2007 to May 2021, in a hemovigilance service of a high-complexity philanthropic university hospital in the city of São Paulo. Results Of the 287 records assessed, 42.5% of reactions were observed in adolescents (between 12 and 18 years), and 83.6% occurred in the first transfusion. Most common clinical manifestations were skin lesions and hyperthermia. About 50% of reactions occurred in patients with leukemia or anemia and the associated blood component was red blood cell concentrate. Most common incidents were nonhemolytic febrile reaction and mostly mild and moderate allergic reactions. Other reactions were 9.8% moderate/severe. Abstract Introduction The high phonatory demand required of teachers is a direct cause of the onset of vocal symptoms and of the development of laryngeal disorders. Objective To describe the findings of the laryngeal screening performed as part of the Vocal Health Program held in the Federal Distrcit of Brazil in 2014 and 2015. Methods The study was performed with 361 dysphonic teachers from public schools who attended the laryngeal screening (videolaryngoscopy) part of the program. Data on anamnesis, the degree of dysphonia, the findings of the laryngeal screening, the referrals made after the laryngeal screening, and the result of the assessment of vocal aptitude for work were analyzed from the forms of each participating teacher. Results The sample of the present study (N= 361) represents 18.23% of the 1,980 teachers that went through the vocal screening of the program in 2014 and 2015. In total, 98 (27.15%) teachers presented mild dysphonia, 221 (61.22%), moderate dysphonia, and 42, (11.63%) severe dysphonia. Regarding the laryngeal screening (videolaryngoscopy exam), 269 teachers (74.52%) presented laryngeal disorders, and the main ones found were vocal nodules (43.87%), signs of laryngopharyngeal reflux (37.17%), hourglass chink (18.22%), vascular dysgenesis (18.22%), midposterior triangular chink (9.67%), and double chink (8.55%). Conclusion Laryngeal screening through videolaryngoscopy and auditory-perceptual screening of the voice as part of vocal health programs are essential to define the diagnosis and therapeutic conduct for teachers with dysphonia. Together with intervention activities, continuing education and adequate and accessible treatment, the periodic evaluation of vocal health can contribute to reduce absenteeism and improve the quality of life and of the voice of teachers.

ABSTRACT Background: There are no specific recommendations for prevention of surgical site infection (SSI) caused by multidrug resistant Gram-negative bacilli (MDR-GNB). Our objective was to systematically review the literature evaluating the efficacy and safety of measures specifically designed to prevent MDR-GNB SSI. Methods: We searched MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL and LILACS databases up to February 18, 2020. Randomized trials and observational cohort studies evaluating the efficacy of preventive measures against MDR-GNB SSI in adult surgical patients were eligible. We evaluated methodological quality of studies and general quality of evidence using Newcastle-Ottawa scale, Cochrane ROBINS-I and GRADE method. Random-effects meta-analyses were performed using Review Manager V.5.3 software. Results: A total of 10,663 titles by searching databases were identified. Two retrospective observational studies, comparing surgical antibiotic prophylaxis (SAP) with or without aminoglycoside in renal transplantation recipients, and one non-randomized prospective study, evaluating ertapenem vs. cephalosporin plus metronidazole for SAP in extended spectrum beta-lactamase producing Enterobacteriales carriers undergoing colon surgery, were included. Risk of bias was high in all studies. Meta-analysis was performed for the renal transplantation studies, with 854 patients included. Combined relative risk (RR) for MDR GNB SSI was 0.57 (95%CI: 0.25-1.34), favoring SAP with aminoglycoside (GRADE: moderate). Conclusions: There are no sufficient data supporting specific measures against MDR-GNB SSI. Resumo O desenvolvimento de novas variedades de cana-de-açúcar tem permitido que as usinas brasileiras de etanol operem por mais tempo durante a safra, porém, na entressafra elas permanecem ociosas devido à ausência de biomassa. A fim de aumentar a segurança energética e garantir o abastecimento em períodos críticos, tem sido proposta a adaptação das usinas de etanol para o modelo flex, permitindo também a produção de biocombustível a partir do milho. Considerando os custos para construção ou adaptação de uma usina, definir estrategicamente a localização é fundamental para otimizar a produção de etanol. O objetivo deste estudo é verificar se a combinação de critérios de localização permite identificar regiões mais adequadas para a construção de novas usinas flex e mapeá-las. O método consiste na análise hierárquica multicritério AHP em conjunto com técnicas de geoprocessamento. Encontramos duas grandes regiões contínuas adequadas para usinas flex, correspondendo juntas a 11% da área de estudo. No entanto, nessas duas regiões aptas, somente 0,33% do território tem mais de 90% de adequação. Portanto, confirmamos a existência de regiões mais adequadas e concluímos que o mapeamento dessas áreas potencializa o uso de recursos, evitando a instalação em áreas inapropriadas.

Abstract The development of sugarcane varieties has allowed Brazilian ethanol plants to operate longer during the harvest, however, in the off-season they remain idle due to the absence of biomass. To increase energy safety and guarantee supply in critical periods, it has been proposed to adapt ethanol plants to the flex-biomass model, allowing the production of biofuel from corn as well. Considering the costs of building or adapting a plant, strategically defining the location is essential for optimizing ethanol production. The aim of this study is to verify whether the combination of location criteria can identify the most suitable regions for the construction of new plants and map them. The method consists of the Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) with GIS techniques. We found two large continuous regions suitable for the construction of new flex ethanol plants, corresponding together to 11% of the study area. However, in these two suitable regions, only 0.33% of the territory has more than 90% suitability. Therefore, we confirmed the existence of more suitable regions and concluded that the mapping of these areas enhances the resources application, avoiding installation in inappropriate areas.

Abstract Bjerkandera adusta, a globally distributed fungus, is commonly used in the nutritional practices of the East Asian population. In this study, we evaluated the nutritional composition of the lyophilized mycelium of B. adusta as well as the phenolic composition and antioxidant activity of its extracts. The mycelium exhibited moisture (7.97 %), ash (3.27 %), and fiber (5.31 %) content values similar to the established values reported in the available literature. In addition, a high protein (9.32 %) and carbohydrate (63.45 %) content was shown, with a low lipid (1.36 %) content. The energy value per 100 g sample of mycelium was 1445.85 kJ. The results obtained indicated a statistically significant variation (p < 0.05) in the phenolic composition (81.84-110.96 mg gallic acid equivalents (GAE) per g of extract), free radical 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) scavenging activity (IC50 29.05-340.46 µg·mL-1), phosphomolybdenum antioxidant content (34.89-55.64 %), reduction of ferricyanide ion (66.55-69.4 %), and thiobarbituric acid reactive substance (TBARS) values (44.66-133.03 %). These results are unprecedented for this species and emphasize its nutraceutical potential.

Resumo Ansiedade, aversão e rejeição são sentimentos frequentemente verbalizados por estudantes quando estes se deparam com a matemática. Este artigo traz um recorte de um projeto de pesquisa, realizado pelo Núcleo de Pesquisa e Estudos em Educação Matemática (NUPEm) da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU). Os pesquisadores acreditavam que universitários que optaram por ingressar nos cursos de licenciatura em matemática concebem significados que não são compartilhados por boa parte da população. Partiu-se do pressuposto de que é necessário compreender tais significações, porque elas reproduzem uma cultura pedagógica que influenciará as práticas desses profissionais no futuro. Nesta pesquisa, em relação à matemática, buscou-se analisar os significados e revelar os sentidos acerca das experiências de um grupo de 21 discentes, ingressantes em um curso de licenciatura em 2019. Como caminho metodológico, optou-se por usar a fenomenologia hermenêutica como instrumento de análise dos poemas escritos individualmente por esses ingressantes. Considerou-se que a escrita livre por meio de poemas seria uma ferramenta útil para identificar a expressão de experiências vivenciadas e significados atribuídos pelos futuros professores à matemática. A partir da leitura e da reflexão sobre os conteúdos dos poemas, a posteriori, desvelou-se três categorias emergentes: sentimentos expressos pelos estudantes em relação à matemática; papel desempenhado pela matemática na sociedade; e concepções sobre o que é a matemática. A partir da análise dessas categorias descrevemos e discutimos fenômenos dicotômicos em relação aos currículos, que requerem cautela ao longo da formação inicial docente.

Abstract Anxiety, aversion and rejection are frequent feelings verbalized by students when they are faced with mathematics. This paper brings a report of a research project, carried out by the Center for Research and Studies in Mathematics Education (NUPEm) of the Federal University of Uberlandia (UFU). The researchers believed that undergraduate students, who chose apply for mathematics teaching courses, conceive meanings that are not shared by a large part of the population. We started the investigation from the assumption that it is necessary to understand such meanings, because they would be responsable for reproduce a pedagogical culture that will influence the practices of these professionals in the future. In this research, in relation to mathematics, we sought to analyze the meanings and reveal the sense about the experiences of a group of 21 students, who were initiating an undergraduate Mathematics course in 2019. As methodological path, we chose to use hermeneutical phenomenology as instrument for the analysis of poems written individually by these begginer undergradute students. It was considered that free writing through poems would be an useful tool to identify the expression of lived experiences and meanings attributed by future teachers about mathematics. After reading and reflecting on the contents of the poems, three emerging categories were revealed: feelings expressed by students in relation to mathematics; role played by mathematics in the society; and conceptions about what mathematics is. Based on the analysis of these categories, we described and discussed dichotomous phenomena in relation to curricula, which require caution throughout undergraduate teachers courses.

Resumo Introdução Evidências eletrofisiológicas têm reforçado a hipótese de que a gagueira está associada a um déficit na modulação do sistema auditivo cortical durante o planejamento da fala, o que contribui para um monitoramento ineficiente da retroalimentação auditiva e, consequentemente, resulta em disfluências. Objetivo Verificar o impacto das modificações da retroalimentação auditiva na fala espontânea de indivíduos com gagueira. Método Participaram 16 indivíduos de ambos os sexos, na faixa de 8 a 17 anos e 11 meses, com diagnóstico de gagueira neurodesenvolvimental persistente, divididos em dois grupos: grupo de gagueira moderada e grupo de gagueira grave. Os procedimentos constaram de três etapas: coleta dos dados de identificação, avaliação audiológica e avaliação da fluência da fala espontânea em quatro condições de retroalimentação auditiva (habitual, atrasada, mascarada e amplificada). A amostra de fala obtida na retroalimentação habitual foi considerada controle; as demais foram consideradas como condições de escuta modificadas. Resultados Com relação às disfluências típicas da gagueira, na análise intragrupo do grupo de gagueira moderada, observou-se diferença estatisticamente significante entre a retroalimentação auditiva habitual e a mascarada (p = 0,042); assim como entre a habitual e a amplificada (p = 0,042). No grupo de gagueira grave, houve diferença estatisticamente significante em todas as modificações de retroalimentação auditiva em relação à habitual (atrasada p = 0,012; mascarada p = 0,025 e amplificada p = 0,042). Verificou-se, ainda, redução dos fluxos de sílabas e de palavras por minuto no grupo de gagueira moderada na retroalimentação auditiva atrasada, quando comparada com a habitual (p = 0,017 e p = 0,025; respectivamente). Conclusão O efeito da retroalimentação auditiva atrasada foi favorável para o grupo de gagueira grave, pois promoveu a fluência da fala. As condições de retroalimentação auditiva mascarada e amplificada ocasionaram benefícios na fala espontânea de ambos os grupos, diminuíram a quantidade de disfluências típicas da gagueira. A velocidade de fala não foi prejudicada por nenhuma condição de escuta analisada.

Abstract Introduction Electrophysiological evidence has reinforced the hypothesis that stuttering is associated with a deficit in modulation of the cortical auditory system during speech planning, contributing to an inefficient auditory feedback monitoring and, consequently, resulting in disfluencies. Objective To verify the impact of auditory feedback modifications on the spontaneous speech of individuals with stuttering. Methods Sixteen individuals, of both genders, aged 8-17 years and 11 months, with a diagnosis of persistent neurodevelopmental stuttering, were divided into two groups: Moderate Stuttering Group and Severe Stuttering Group. The testing procedures consisted of three stages: collection of identification data, audiological assessment and fluency evaluation of spontaneous speech in four auditory feedback conditions (non-altered, delayed, masked and amplified). The speech sample obtained in the non-altered feedback was considered the control; the others were considered as modified listening conditions. Results Regarding the stuttering-like disfluencies, a statistically significant difference was observed in the intragroup analysis of the Moderate Stuttering Group between non-altered and masked auditory feedback (p = 0.042), as well as between non-altered and amplified (p = 0.042). There was a statistically significant difference in the Severe Stuttering Group for all auditory feedback modifications in relation to the non-altered (delayed p = 0.012, masked p = 0.025 and amplified p = 0.042). There was also a reduction in flows of syllables and words-per-minute in the Moderate Stuttering Group for the delayed auditory feedback, as compared to non-altered (p = 0.017 and p = 0.025, respectively). Conclusion The effect of delayed auditory feedback was favorable for the Severe Stuttering Group, promoting speech fluency. The conditions of masked and amplified auditory feedback resulted in speech benefits in both groups, decreasing the number of stuttering-like disfluencies. The speech rate was not impaired by any listening condition analyzed.

Objective: To analyze the frequency distribution of condom use according to vulnerability factors for sexually transmitted infections in quilombola communities in Sergipe, Brazil. Methods: Descriptive cross-sectional study carried out between 2016-2017. A structured questionnaire with sociodemographic and behavioral issues was used; and rapid HIV and syphilis tests were performed. Comparisons between categorical variables were performed using Fisher's exact test.&nbsp; Results: Among the 367 individuals from 14 communities, the majority were of low education (72.8%), without work (59.7%) and had a fixed sexual partner (90.7%). Lack of access to inputs and prevention information made up the programmatic vulnerability of individuals. There was a higher proportion of inconsistent condom use with a steady partner (90.1%) in individuals who reported lack of access to information (p=0.001) and inconsistent use with an occasional partner (p&lt;0.001). Conclusion: The frequency of condom use with a steady partner was significantly proportional to the use with a casual partner and access to preventive information.

Objetivo: Analisar a frequência do uso de preservativos segundo fatores de vulnerabilidade para infecções sexualmente transmissíveis em comunidades quilombolas de Sergipe, Brasil. Métodos: Estudo transversal descritivo, realizado entre 2016 e 2017. Utilizou-se questionário estruturado, com questões sociodemográficas e comportamentais; foram realizados testes rápidos de HIV e sífilis. Comparações entre variáveis categóricas foram realizadas pelo teste exato de Fisher. Resultados: Entre os 367 indivíduos de 14 comunidades, a maioria apresentava baixa escolaridade (72,8%), encontrava-se sem trabalho (59,7%) e possuía parceiro sexual fixo (90,7%). Falta de acesso a insumos e informações de prevenção compuseram a vulnerabilidade programática dos indivíduos. Houve maior proporção de uso inconsistente do preservativo com parceiro fixo (90,1%), em indivíduos que relataram falta de acesso à informação (p=0,001) e uso inconsistente com parceiro eventual (p&lt;0,001). Conclusão: A frequência de uso do preservativo com parceiro fixo foi significativamente proporcional ao uso com parceiro eventual e ao acesso a informação preventiva.

RESUMO Objetivo: Investigar a validade dos testes de caminhada de campo para identificar dessaturação durante o exercício, comparando os testes de exercício laboratoriais e clínicos de campo quanto às respostas cardiorrespiratórias e percepção de esforço em indivíduos com bronquiectasia não fibrocística. Métodos: Estudo transversal com 72 participantes não dependentes de oxigênio (28 homens; média de idade: 48,3 ± 14,5 anos; média do VEF1: 54,1 ± 23,4% do previsto). Os participantes foram submetidos ao teste de exercício cardiopulmonar (TECP) incremental em esteira e ao constant work-rate exercise testing (CWRET, teste de exercício com carga constante) em esteira, com intervalo de 1 h. Em outra visita, foram submetidos ao incremental shuttle walk test (ISWT, teste de caminhada incremental) e ao endurance shuttle walk test (ESWT, teste de caminhada de resistência), com intervalo de 1 h. A definição de dessaturação foi uma redução da SpO2 ≥ 4% do repouso ao pico do exercício. Resultados: O TECP e o ISWT resultaram em dessaturação de magnitude comparável (−7,7 ± 6,3% vs. −6,6 ± 5,6%; p = 0,10), assim como o fizeram o CWRET e o ESWT (−6,8 ± 5,8% vs. −7,2 ± 6,3%; p = 0,50). Houve concordância entre o TECP e o ISWT quanto ao número de participantes que apresentaram e não apresentaram dessaturação, respectivamente (42 e 14; p < 0,01), bem como entre o CWRET e o ESWT (39 e 16; p < 0,01). A magnitude da dessaturação foi semelhante nos participantes que atingiram ≥ 85% da FC máxima prevista ou não. Conclusões: Os testes de exercício de campo apresentaram boa precisão para detectar dessaturação. Os testes de campo podem ser uma alternativa aos testes de laboratório quando o objetivo é investigar a dessaturação durante o exercício em indivíduos com bronquiectasia.

ABSTRACT Objective: To investigate the validity of field walking tests to identify exercise-induced hypoxemia and to compare cardiorespiratory responses and perceived effort between laboratory-based and field-based exercise tests in subjects with bronchiectasis. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study involving 72 non-oxygen-dependent participants (28 men; mean age = 48.3 ± 14.5 years; and mean FEV1 = 54.1 ± 23.4% of the predicted value). The participants underwent cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) on a treadmill and constant work-rate exercise testing (CWRET) on the same day (1 h apart). In another visit, they underwent incremental shuttle walk testing (ISWT) and endurance shuttle walk testing (ESWT; 1 h apart). Desaturation was defined as a reduction in SpO2 ≥ 4% from rest to peak exercise. Results: CPET results were compared with ISWT results, as were CWRET results with ESWT results. There was no difference in the magnitude of desaturation between CPET and ISWT (−7.7 ± 6.3% vs. −6.6 ± 5.6%; p = 0.10) and between CWRET and ESWT (−6.8 ± 5.8% vs. −7.2 ± 6.3%; p = 0.50). The incremental tests showed an agreement in the magnitude of desaturation in the desaturation and no desaturation groups (42 and 14 participants, respectively; p < 0.01), as did the endurance tests (39 and 16 participants; p < 0.01). The magnitude of desaturation was similar among the participants who did or did not reach at least 85% of the maximum predicted HR. Conclusions: Field exercise tests showed good precision to detect desaturation. Field tests might be an alternative to laboratory tests when the clinical question is to investigate exercise-induced desaturation in subjects with bronchiectasis.
