Resumo A substituição da cobertura natural por áreas de pastagem afeta o albedo superficial, que por sua vez influencia no saldo de radiação e na temperatura superficial. Assim, o objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar os impactos do desmatamento sobre variáveis biofísicas no município de Apuí-AM, por imagens Landsat 5 TM (Thematic Mapper). As imagens utilizadas nesse estudo foram fornecidas pelo Serviço Geológico dos Estados Unidos (USGS). A imagem de 20/07/2010 foi processada por etapas intermediárias do SEBAL (Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land). O desmatamento no município de Apuí aumentou em 20% nos últimos 20 anos analisados. O NDVI da Floresta foi 20 e 43% maior que da pastagem e da área urbana, respectivamente. O albedo da superfície na pastagem e na área urbana foram 16% maiores que na área de Floresta e a temperatura de brilho da superfície na pastagem e na área urbana foram 16 e 10% maiores que na área de Floresta, respectivamente. O Rn na área de Floresta foi 8% e 6% maior que na área urbana e na pastagem, respectivamente. Portanto, a conversão da Floresta Amazônica modifica o balanço de radiação com maior disponibilidade de calor sensível da superfície nas áreas de pastagem e urbana.

Abstract The replacement of natural cover by pasture areas affects the surface albedo, which in turn influences the balance of radiation and surface temperature. Thus, the objective of this work was to evaluate the impacts of deforestation on biophysical variables in the municipality of Apuí-AM, by Landsat 5 TM images (Thematic Mapper). The images used in this study were provided by the United States Geological Survey (USGS). The image of 07/20/2010 was processed by intermediate stages of the SEBAL (Surface Energy Balance Algorithm for Land). Deforestation in the municipality of Apuí increased by 20% in the last 20 years. Forest NDVI was 20 and 43% higher than pasture and urban area, respectively. The surface albedo in the pasture and in the urban area were 16% higher than in the Forest area and the surface gloss temperature in the pasture and in the urban area were 16 and 10% higher than in the Forest area, respectively. The Rn in the Forest area was 8% and 6% higher than in the urban area and in the pasture, respectively. Therefore, the conversion of the Amazon Forest modifies the radiation balance with greater availability of sensible surface heat in the pasture and urban areas.

Resumo O Pantanal apresenta períodos de inundação que modelam a paisagem e atuam como filtro ao estabelecimento e desenvolvimento de plantas. Perturbações antrópicas ou naturais podem alterar a distribuição da energia disponível no ecossistema. Diante da necessidade de compreensão da variabilidade temporal do balanço de energia em paisagens naturais inundáveis, o objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a sazonalidade do balanço de energia em área arbustiva alagável composta por Combretum lanceolatum Pohl no Pantanal Mato-grossense. As estimativas do fluxo de calor latente (LE) e sensível (H), e da evapotranspiração (ET) foram obtidas pelo método da razão de Bowen entre maio de 2012 e abril de 2013. A energia disponível foi destinada prioritariamente ao LE (64,1%), seguido ao H (35,8%) e quase zero ao fluxo de calor no solo (0,1%). Os componentes do balanço de energia apresentaram forte sazonalidade, com maior LE durante a estação chuvosa e maior H durante a estação seca. A evapotranspiração foi menor durante a estação seca devido ao baixo conteúdo de água no solo e transpiração da vegetação dominante na área de estudo. Os resultados obtidos nesse trabalho sugerem que o ambiente estudado é limitado pela disponibilidade de energia e água.

Abstract The Pantanal has flood periods that model the landscape and act as a filter to the establishment and development of plants Anthropogenic or natural disturbances can alter the available energy distribution in the ecosystem. Due to the need of understanding the temporal variability of the energy balance in flood natural landscapes, the objective of this study was to analyze the seasonality of the energy balance in flooded shrub area consisting of Combretum lanceolatum Pohl in Mato Grosso Pantanal. The estimates of latent (LE) and sensible (H) heat flux, and evapotranspiration (ET) were obtained by the method of Bowen ratio between May 2012 and April 2013. The available energy was intended primarily to LE (64.1%), followed by H (35.8%) and almost zero to heat flow in soil (0.1%). The components of the energy balance showed strong seasonality, with highest LE in the wet season and highest H in the dry season. The evapotranspiration was lower during the dry season due to the lower soil water content and transpiration of dominant vegetation in the study area. Results suggest that the study area was limited by the availability of energy and water.

A interferência antrópica nos ambientes lóticos em áreas urbanas é um fator que afeta a biota dos corpos d'água. Macroinvertebrados aquáticos são importante fonte alimentar para peixes e são valiosos indicadores de qualidade da água. Nosso objetivo foi estudar a distribuição de larvas de Chironomus ao longo de um gradiente ambiental no Córrego do Barbado, Cuiabá, MT, Brasil. Nenhum indivíduo de Chironomus foi encontrado em suas nascentes, o que pode indicar preservação da área. Durante o período de estudo, nós encontramos 40,3 e 94,4 indivíduos/m2 nos pontos 3 e 4 (baixo curso), respectivamente. Há eutrofização nestes locais devido descargas de esgoto in natura, indicando baixa qualidade da água. O córrego Barbado precisa de projetos de restauração que incluam a conscientização dos moradores dos bairros vizinhos sobre sua importância para o meio ambiente, e os investimentos no setor de saneamento para priorizar a coleta e tratamento de águas residuais e coleta de resíduos sólidos.

Anthropogenic interference in urban lotic systems is a factor affecting the biota of waterbodies. Aquatic macro invertebrates are an important food source for fish and are valuable indicators of water quality. The objective of this work was to study Chironomus larvae (Chironomidae: Diptera) distribution along an environmental gradient in Barbado Stream, Cuiabá, MT, Brazil. No individual Chironomus was found in the springs of Barbado Stream, which may indicate preservation of the area. During the study period, we found 40.3 and 94.4 individuals/m2 at points 3 and 4 (low course), respectively. There is eutrophication in these sites due to domestic sewage discharges, indicating low quality water. The Barbado Stream needs restoration projects that include an awareness of the residents of their neighborhood's environmental importance, and investments in the sanitation sector to prioritize the collection and treatment of wastewater and solid waste collection.
