ABSTRACT Purpose: to develop and evaluate an instructional material addressing steps and strategies in speech-language therapy for the treatment of speech disorders related to velopharyngeal dysfunction (VPD). Methods: a research taking place in three phases: 1) Planning and development of the material; 2) Evaluation of the material by speech-language therapists; and 3) Application of the material to undergraduate students of Speech-Language Therapy followed by an assessment of their understanding of the topic before and after viewing the material. Inferential statistics were presented by applying the Wilcoxon test to compare responses before and after exposure to the material, considering the level of significance less than or equal to p<0.05. Results: the content of the modules included: Velopharyngeal function during speech and VPD; Velopharyngeal sufficiency; Training of “modified breath and plosion” in speech; Training with sounds; and Tips for conducting speech-language therapy. In the second phase, five speech-language therapists evaluated the material from satisfactory to excellent, making suggestions that helped to improve it. As to the third phase, the average percentage of correct answers presented a significant increase of 23% after the students viewed the material (p=<0.001). Conclusion: the instructional material had its content and format evaluated from satisfactory to excellent by professionals; viewing by undergraduate students of Speech-Language Therapy increased their knowledge on the subject. RESUMO Objetivo identificar os questionários e escalas utilizados na avaliação do benefício e da satisfação dos usuários de próteses auditivas ancoradas no osso, respondendo a questão norteadora: “Quais questionários e escalas são utilizados para avaliar o benefício e a satisfação dos usuários de prótese auditiva ancorada no osso?”. Estratégia de pesquisa busca realizada nas bases de dados Public Medicine Library, Scopus, Web of Science, LILACS e Embase. Na literatura cinzenta, utilizou-se a fonte de informação Google Acadêmico e a Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e dissertações, por meio dos descritores: prótese ancorada no osso (bone-anchored prosthesis), perda auditiva condutiva-neurossensorial mista (hearing loss, mixed conductive-sensorineural), qualidade de vida (quality of life), satisfação do paciente (patient satisfaction), inquéritos e questionários (surveys and questionnaires). ABSTRACT Purpose to identify the questionnaires and scales used as subjective tools for the assessment process regarding the benefit and satisfaction of users of Bone-Anchored Hearing Aids to answer the following guiding question: Which questionnaires and scales are used in adults to evaluate the benefit and satisfaction of Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid users? Research strategy the search was carried out in the PubMed, SciELO, Scopus, Web of Science, Lilacs and Embase databases and, in gray literature, Google Academic and Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations were used as information sources. The descriptors used were: bone-anchored prosthesis, hearing loss, mixed conductive-sensorineural, quality of life, patient satisfaction, surveys and questionnaires. Selection criteria studies that used questionnaires and scales to verify the benefit and satisfaction of users of Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid, published in Portuguese, English or Spanish, from 1999 to 2022, were included. Results 176 articles were identified. Of this total, 67 were included in the scoping review. ABSTRACT Purpose: this study aimed at assessing the legibility, reliability, usability and coverage of websites on cleft lip and/or palate (CL/P) in Brazilian Portuguese and providing a global comparison. Methods: in order to evaluate the obtained data, four protocols were used, i.e., the Website Coverage Protocol, the legibility (by means of the COH METRIX PORT), the reliability (Discern Protocol), and the usability (by means of the System Usability Scale). Results: 98 websites were included with average legibility scoring of 31.6±11.7, rated as a hard readability level. Coverage average scoring was 19.9±3.79 from a total of 35 points. As for reliability, average scoring was 43.2±6.51 points, rated as acceptable. The usability scoring was 24.8±2.18 points, rated as the worst imaginable one. Conclusion: therefore, the assessed Brazilian websites on CL/P were rated difficult for legibility, requiring high-school level of education, restricted coverage and acceptable reliability, in addition to the low usability. The results were similar to those of websites from other countries, except for the legibility aspect, which was lower for Brazilian websites. ABSTRACT Purpose: to verify the association between central auditory skills and speech disorders related to velopharyngeal dysfunction. Methods: forty-five children, with repaired non-syndromic cleft lip and palate or cleft lip only, aged 7-11 years old, were divided into three groups: G1 (n=15), children with hypernasality, nasal air emission, and compensatory articulations; G2 (n=15), children with hypernasality and nasal air emission, but without compensatory articulations; and G3 (n=15), children without hypernasality, nasal air emission, and compensatory articulations. The medical records of all participants were analyzed to verify the eligibility criteria and obtain speech assessments, and then, they were submitted to an assessment of central auditory skills. Statistical analysis comprised descriptive and chi-square test with a significance level of 5%. Results: G1 presented a higher occurrence of impairment in central auditory skills differing from the other groups, particularly in the temporal ordering and binaural integration skills. A significant difference was observed among groups in temporal ordering ability. No significant association was found between the use of specific types of compensatory articulations and impaired auditory skills. Conclusion: there was an association between changes in temporal ordering auditory skills and binaural integration in children with velopharyngeal dysfunction, regardless of the presence or type of compensatory articulation found. Abstract Introduction The use of auditory behavioral tests, which specifically assess sustained attention, is necessary, due to its relationship with learning, language production, cognitive development and school performance. Objective To evaluate how children performed using software developed to investigate the ability of sustained auditory attention, and to compare the scores obtained in this format with those of the original, non-computerized test. Methods This cross-sectional study included 52 children of both genders, aged 6 to 11 years, with normal hearing and no history of complaints regarding inattention and/or hyperactivity. The computerized test was administered to all 52 children. The total error score (inattention and impulsivity) and the vigilance decrement were used to define the children’s performance when using the software. The scores obtained in the two formats (computer software and original on compact disc) were then compared. Results Statistically significant differences were found in the scores for innattention, impulsivity, and total error score (inattention and impulsivity) when comparing genders, and a negative correlation coefficient was found when comparing ages. Increased scores were found for all variables of the sustained auditory attention ability test (SAAAT) compared with the original format. Conclusion Females performed worse than males in all aspects except for vigilance decrement when using the SAAATsoftware developed to evaluate the ability of SAAAT vigilance; younger children made more errors when using the SAAAT software; inattention errors were more frequent than impulsivity. Overall, higher values were obtained using the SAAAT software, when compared with the original version.

Abstract Introduction Several studies show correlations between congenital toxoplasmosis and hearing loss, with a broad diversity of levels of hearing loss and specifications of hearing disorders. Objective To describe the studies found in the literature regarding hearing disorders in congenital toxoplasmosis. Data Synthesis A literature review was conducted on the Lilacs, SciELO, PubMed and Scopus databases by combining the following keywords: congenital toxoplasmosis and hearing. Based on this search strategy, 152 papers were found, the majority published on the Scopus and PubMed databases from1958 to 2015. After theapplication of the inclusion criteria, 8 articles published between 1980 and 2015 were included in the present study. Conclusion This review showed a moderate evidence of the association between hearing disorders and congenital toxoplasmosis, which is characterized by sensorineural hearing loss. However, there are gaps in the description of the specific characteristics of the type and level of hearing loss, or of other possible disorders involved in the auditory processing.

Abstract Introduction Cleft lip and cleft palate can result in impairments in communication, specifically in hearing, making the use of technological resources such as blogs a fundamental guideline for health professionals. Objective The aim of this study was to prepare and analyze the access to a blog about cleft lip and cleft palate and hearing as a pedagogical tool for health professionals. Methods The first stage for the development of the blogwas the selection of the content that would be addressed and the respective illustrations. The second stage was making the blog available through theWordPress platform, and the third stage included the evaluation of the blog, of the access to theWordPress statistical features, and of the quality of the blog through the Emory questionnaire, which was answered by 75 professionals. Results The blog, titled “Fissure and Hearing”, was developed with the architecture of a digital information environment containing a system of organization, navigation, labeling and search (first stage). The address hosting the blog was: http://fissuraeaudicao. wordpress.com (second stage). The result of the third stage included 56,269 views of the blog from different countries, and Brazil was the country with the highest viewing. Regarding the assessment by the Emory questionnaire, we found that for most of the major issues, the percentages obtained were or equal to 90%, while the analysis of the scales, navigation and structure presented the lowest scores. Conclusion The blog was developed and enabled greater access to information available on the web about cleft lip and cleft palate and hearing.

RESUMO Objetivo: Caracterizar as habilidades neuropsicolinguísticas de indivíduos com craniossinostoses sindrômicas e apresentar esses achados com as anomalias do sistema nervoso central. Métodos: Participaram do estudo 18 sujeitos com diagnóstico clínico de craniossinostose sindrômica, 44,4% com a síndrome de Apert e 55,6% síndrome de Crouzon. Todos os sujeitos foram submetidos a avaliação fonoaudiológica, psicológica e exames de ressonância magnética do encéfalo. A avaliação fonoaudiológica foi contemplada pela Observação Comportamental da Linguagem, Teste Peabody (TVIP), Teste Token e Teste de Desempenho Escolar (TDE); enquanto a psicológica utilizou a WISC-III e a WAIS. Resultados: Observou-se alteração nas habilidades de linguagem em todos os protocolos utilizados, sendo o TDE o que apresentou maior porcentagem de alteração (66,67%).A avaliação cognitiva evidenciou quociente de inteligência dentro da média em 39,3% dos sujeitos, enquanto que 46,4% apresentaram malformações congênitas do sistema nervoso central. Conclusão: Constatou-se alterações nas habilidades de linguagem na maioria dos sujeitos com craniossinostoses sindrômicas, bem como o baixo desempenho cognitivo.

ABSTRACT Objective: To characterize patients with syndromic craniosynostosis with respect to their neuropsycholinguistic abilities and to present these findings together with the brain abnormalities. Methods: Eighteen patients with a diagnosis of syndromic craniosynostosis were studied. Eight patients had Apert syndrome and 10 had Crouzon syndrome. They were submitted to phonological evaluation, neuropsychological evaluation and magnetic resonance imaging of the brain. The phonological evaluation was done by behavioral observation of the language, the Peabody test, Token test and a school achievement test. The neuropsychological evaluation included the WISC III and WAIS tests. Results: Abnormalities in language abilities were observed and the school achievement test showed abnormalities in 66.67% of the patients. A normal intelligence quotient was observed in 39.3% of the patients, and congenital abnormalities of the central nervous system were observed in 46.4% of the patients. Conclusion: Abnormalities of language abilities were observed in the majority of patients with syndromic craniosynostosis, and low cognitive performance was also observed.

Resumo Introdução Crianças e adolescentes com Apneia Obstrutiva do Sono (AOS) podem apresentar sonolência diurna, alterações de aprendizado, memória e atenção, que podem interferir na linguagem oral. Objetivo Verificar, com base na literatura, se a AOS apresenta correlação com alterações da linguagem oral. Método Foi feita revisão bibliográfica nas bases de dados Lilacs, Pubmed, Scopus e Web of Science, a partir das palavras-chaves “Linguagem Infantil” AND “Apneia do Sono Tipo Obstrutiva”. Os artigos que não se relacionavam ao tema foram excluídos, bem como estudos com crianças que apresentassem outras comorbidades, além da AOS. Resultados Foram localizados 37 artigos na Pubmed, 47 na Scopus e 38 na Web of Science e nenhum na Lilacs. A partir dos critérios de inclusão e exclusão, foram selecionados seis estudos, publicados de 2004 a 2014. Dos artigos incluídos, observou-se em quatro artigos a relação do grupo com ronco primário/SAOS com a Linguagem Receptiva e em quatro artigos a relação dessa população com a Linguagem Expressiva. Ressalta-se que os artigos usaram instrumentos diferentes e consideraram níveis diversificados da Linguagem. Conclusão O diagnóstico e o tratamento tardio de AOS resultam em alterações significantes na qualidade da aquisição verbal. Torna-se imprescindível a atenção dos profissionais que atuam com a população infantil para esse aspecto, uma vez que grande parte dos sons da fala são adquiridos entre 3–7 anos, que corresponde ao período de pico de ocorrência de hipertrofia adenoamigdaliana e AOS na infância.

Abstract Introduction Children and adolescents with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) may have consequences, such as daytime sleepiness and learning, memory, and attention disorders, that may interfere in oral language. Objective To verify, based on the literature, whether OSA in children was correlated to oral language disorders. Methods A literature review was carried out in the Lilacs, PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases using the descriptors “Child Language” AND “Obstructive Sleep Apnea”. Articles that did not discuss the topic and included children with other comorbidities rather than OSA were excluded. Results In total, no articles were found at Lilacs, 37 at PubMed, 47 at Scopus, and 38 at Web of Science databases. Based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, six studies were selected, all published from 2004 to 2014. Four articles demonstrated an association between primary snoring/OSA and receptive language and four articles showed an association with expressive language. It is noteworthy that the articles used different tools and considered different levels of language. Conclusion The late diagnosis and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea is associated with a delay in verbal skill acquisition. The professionals who work with children should be alert, as most of the phonetic sounds are acquired during ages 3–7 years, which is also the peak age for hypertrophy of the tonsils and childhood OSA.

RESUMO Este estudo teve por objetivo averiguar a produção científica da Fonoaudiologia na interface com Apneia Obstrutiva do Sono, considerando fator de impacto, nível de evidência e área da Fonoaudiologia correspondente. Foi realizada uma busca na literatura nas bases de dados Lilacs, PubMed e Scopus, por meio do cruzamento das palavras-chave e termos livres específicos da Fonoaudiologia com "Apneia do Sono Tipo Obstrutiva". Para que o artigo fosse incluído no presente estudo, necessitava abordar como eixo principal da atuação fonoaudiológica nos pacientes com a Apneia Obstrutiva do Sono. Realizou-se uma consulta ao WebQualis da CAPES, investigando periódicos específicos da Fonoaudiologia da área 21 e seu respectivo Qualis. Os artigos selecionados foram analisados quanto ao fator de impacto, nível de evidência e área da Fonoaudiologia correspondente. Foram localizados 983 artigos, sendo selecionados 39, originados principalmente da base Scopus. O Qualis prevalente foi o B1, fator de impacto com média de 3.49, maior volume de publicações a partir do ano de 2006, nível de evidência 5 e área de atuação fonoaudiológica na maioria foi a Motricidade Orofacial. Foi realizada a análise da produção científica da Fonoaudiologia na interface com Apneia Obstrutiva do Sono, verificando-se que a Motricidade Orofacial e o nível de evidência 5 predominaram neste âmbito.

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to investigate the scientific production of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at the interface with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, considering impact factor, level of evidence and corresponding area of the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. A literature search was performed in databases Lilacs, PubMed and Scopus, through the intersection of keywords and specific free terms of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology and "Sleep Apnea, Obstructive". For the article would be included in this study, needed to approach as the main axis the Speech-Language Pathologist acting in patients with Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Were held a consultation on the WebQualis CAPES, investigating specific journals of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology of Area 21 and their respective Qualis. Selected articles were analyzed for impact factor, level of evidence and area of the corresponding Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. Were located 983 articles, being selected 39, originated mainly from Scopus. The prevalent was the Qualis B1, with an average impact factor of 3,49; higher number of publications of 2006, level of evidence 5 and the Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology prevalent area was the Orofacial Myology. The analysis of the scientific production of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology was performed at the interface with Obstructive Sleep Apnea, verifying that the Orofacial Myology and the evidence level 5 predominated in this context.

RESUMO A Fala é definida como representação motora da Linguagem, em que há a coordenação de três processos neurológicos: organização de conceitos, formulação e expressão simbólica; programação do ato motor envolvido na produção da fala; e sua própria produção motora. O Controle Motor da Fala, que ordena a contração muscular para a sua execução, inclui o planejamento, a preparação de movimentos e a execução de planos para resultar em contrações musculares e deslocamentos de estruturas que culminarão na articulação da Fala. Os estudos científicos nacionais e internacionais vislumbram um novo campo de atuação fonoaudiológica para o trabalho com a fala alterada, com a estimulação da Praxias Não Verbais. O objetivo deste trabalho é revisar, na bibliografia, o tratamento dado às praxias orais e não verbais e pontuar suas aplicações clínicas no âmbito fonoaudiológico. Realizou-se uma busca nas bases de dados PubMed, Lilacs e Scielo. As 40 citações selecionadas foram avaliadas de forma crítica. Os artigos mostraram que a Praxia Não Verbal pode ser estimulada para o trabalho clínico com a Fala, no entanto, não há descrição do trabalho fonoaudiológico, tampouco um detalhamento dos exercícios em sequência que poderiam ser utilizados. Nenhum artigo apontou para o modo como as Praxias Não Verbais deveriam ser trabalhadas, nem mesmo como estimular a programação motora para a Fala. Este estudo propõe a necessidade clínica de criar instrumentos de intervenção fonoaudiológica que incluam a estimulação das Praxias Não Verbais para o trabalho com a articulação da Fala.

ABSTRACT Speech is defined as a motor representation of language, where there is a coordination of three neurological processes: organization of concepts, formulation and symbolic expression; motor act of programming involved in speech production and own motor speech production. The Motor Speech Control, that orders the muscle contraction for the execution of Speech, includes planning, preparing movements and the implementation of plans to result in muscle contractions and dislocations of structures that will culminate in the articulation of Speech. National and international scientific papers envision a new speech playing field for working with a Speech changed with the stimulation of non-verbal Praxis. The aim of this study was to review the national and international literature which the treatment given to Oral Praxis and non verbal and scores the clinical applications in the Speech therapy. We conducted a search in the databases PubMed, Lilacs and Scielo. The 40 selected citations were assessed critically as the objectives, results and conclusions. The articles showed that non-verbal praxis can be stimulated for clinical work with speech, but nevertheless, there is not a description of this speech therapy. Any article referred that the non-verbal Praxis should be worked, not even how to stimulate motor programming for Speech. This study suggests the clinical necessity to create speech therapy tools that include stimulation of non-verbal Praxis to work with the articulation of Speech.

RESUMO As Clínicas-Escolas têm o propósito do ensino-aprendizagem, além de proporcionar atendimentos gratuitos à comunidade. Com tais atribuições, nota-se o alto fluxo de pacientes e formação de filas de espera. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar o manejo das filas de espera em Clínica-Escola de Fonoaudiologia. Realizou-se uma revisão de literatura, por meio da base de dados Lilacs, em que foram localizados 75 artigos, sendo três incluídos, os quais relataram grande demanda de atendimentos e longas filas de espera em Clínicas-Escolas de Fonoaudiologia. Os artigos propuseram encaminhamentos a outras unidades de referência e o estabelecimento de critérios para o atendimento específico da Clínica-Escola. Foram discutidas possíveis soluções para Clínicas-Escolas, no sentido de não formação da fila de espera e soluções para as já existentes. Portanto, puderam-se analisar possíveis soluções para o manejo da fila de espera em Clínicas-Escolas de Fonoaudiologia, favorecendo o desenvolvimento de atividades de pesquisa, ensino e extensão - objetivos do Ensino Superior, portanto, da formação em Fonoaudiologia.

ABSTRACT Teaching-clinics aim to teach-learning, besides promoting free services to the community. These assignments result in a large patient demand and long waiting lists. Our study aimed to analyze the waiting lists management in teaching-clinics of speech, language pathology and hearing sciences. We developed a literature review, through Lilacs database, in which we found 75 articles, three of interest, which reported a large consultation demand and long waiting lists in teaching-clinics of speech, language pathology and hearing sciences. The articles analyzed proposed to referral patients to different reference institutions and the criteria establishment to specific consultation in teaching-clinics. We discussed possible solutions to teaching-clinics, in the sense of not creating waiting lists and solutions for those already existent. Hence, we were able to analyze possible solutions to the waiting list management in teaching-clinics of speech language pathology and hearing sciences, providing the development of activities in research, teaching and extension - which are academic goals, therefore, from the Speech-Language Pathologist and Audiologist formation.

RESUMO Objetivo: analisar os conhecimentos e as práticas dos enfermeiros, médicos e cirurgiões-dentistas que atuam na Atenção Básica em relação ao desenvolvimento da linguagem da criança nos primeiros anos de vida. Métodos: tratou-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa com 30 profissionais de uma rede de Atenção Básica dentre eles, médicos, enfermeiros e cirurgiões-dentistas. Uma consulta individual foi realizada mediante um questionário semiestruturado. Empregou-se a técnica de análise temática de discurso, utilizando-se três figuras metodológicas: a Ideia Central, as Expressões-Chaves e o Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo. Resultados: os conhecimentos que os profissionais têm sobre o desenvolvimento da linguagem da criança estavam ancorados às ideias centrais de conhecer alguns marcos do desenvolvimento, a linguagem da criança depende do estímulo do meio, da família e da audição normal, saber muito pouco ou não saber nada sobre o assunto. Os profissionais relataram que gostariam de obter mais informações sobre o assunto em relação aos marcos do desenvolvimento da linguagem da criança, desvios da normalidade e orientações para pais de forma a aprimorar o atendimento da saúde infantil. Conclusão: o conhecimento dos profissionais sobre o assunto apresentou-se limitado, havendo necessidade de ampliar práticas de educação em saúde pela Fonoaudiologia, em parceria com as Instituições de Ensino e os profissionais dos Núcleos de Apoio Saúde da Família, junto aos profissionais da Equipe de Estratégia Saúde da Família, destacando-se o trabalho sobre os marcos do desenvolvimento da linguagem da criança.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to analyze the knowledge and practices of nurses, doctors and dentists working in Primary Care for the development of the child's language early in life Methods: it is a qualitative research with 30 professionals from a network of Primary Care, among them doctors, nurses and dentists. An individual consultation was carried out through a semi-structured questionnaire. The technique of thematic speech analysis was used using three methodological approaches: The Central Idea, Expressions-Keys and the Collective Subject Discourse. Results: the knowledge that professionals have about the development of children's language were anchored to the core ideas to meet some milestones of development, the child's language depends on the middle stimulus, the family and normal hearing to know little or know nothing about the subject. The professionals reported that they would like to get more information on the subject in relation to the milestones of the child's language development, normal deviations and guidelines for parents in order to improve the care of children's health. Conclusion: the knowledge of professionals on the subject has been limited, and there is a need to expand educational practices in health through speech therapy, in partnership with the institutions of education and professionals of the Family Health Support Centers, with professionals of the Family Health Strategy Team, highlighting the work of the milestones of the child's language development.

RESUMO Objetivo Comparar o desempenho nas habilidades de linguagem receptiva e expressiva de crianças com fissura labiopalatina com crianças sem fissura labiopalatina e com desenvolvimento típico de idade cronológica entre 12 e 36 meses. Método Participaram do estudo 60 crianças, com idade cronológica entre 12 e 36 meses; 30 do grupo experimental, com fissura labiopalatina, e 30 crianças do grupo comparativo, sem fissura labiopalatina, com desenvolvimento típico. Os grupos foram pareados quanto ao gênero, idade cronológica (em meses) e nível socioeconômico. Os procedimentos constaram de análise de prontuário, anamnese com os familiares e da aplicação da Early Language Millestone Scale (ELMS) . Na análise do prontuário, verificou-se que 63,34% das crianças apresentavam fissura transforame incisivo unilateral; 16,66%, transforame incisivo bilateral; e 20%, pós-forame. As crianças com fissura labiopalatina realizaram as cirurgias (queiloplastia e/ou palatoplastia) nas idades recomendadas e participavam de programas de intervenção fonoaudiológica; 40% apresentaram histórico de otites de repetição e 50% frequentavam escolas. O estudo estatístico contou com a aplicação do teste de Mann Whitney com o nível de significância p <0,05. Resultados Houve diferença estatisticamente significante na comparação entre os grupos em relação às habilidades receptivas e expressivas. Conclusão O grupo de crianças com fissura labiopalatina apresentou desempenho inferior, estatisticamente significante, nas habilidades de linguagem receptiva e expressiva quando comparado com crianças sem fissura labiopalatina.

ABSTRACT Purpose To compare the performance in the abilities of receptive and expressive language of children with cleft lip and palate with that of children without cleft lip and palate with typical 12 to 36-month chronological development. Method The sample consisted of 60 children aged 12 and 36 months: 30 with cleft lip and palate diagnosis and 30 without cleft lip and palate diagnosis with typical development. The groups were paired according to gender, age (in months), and socioeconomic level. The procedures consisted of analysis of medical records, anamnesis with family members, and valuation of the Early Language Milestone Scale (ELMS). The chart analysis showed 63.34% of the children with unilateral cleft lip and palate, 16.66% with bilateral incisive transforamen cleft, and 20% with post-foramen cleft. Children with cleft lip and palate underwent surgeries (lip repair and/or palatoplasty) at the recommended ages and participated in early intervention programs; 40% presented recurrent otitis history, and 50% attended schools. Statistical analysis included the use of the Mann Whitney test with significance level of p <0.05. Results There was a statistically significant difference between the groups regarding receptive and expressive skills. Conclusion The group of children with cleft lip and palate showed statistically significant low performance in receptive and expressive language compared with children without cleft lip and palate.

OBJETIVO: o objetivo deste estudo foi verificar as atitudes sociais dos alunos sem necessidades educacionais especiais em relação à inclusão antes e após um programa de capacitação em síndromes genéticas. MÉTODOS: participaram deste estudo 21 alunos matriculados no 9º ano do ensino regular. A Escala Lickert de Atitudes Sociais em Relação à Inclusão foi utilizada para mensurar as atitudes sociais. O programa de capacitação teve diversificadas atividades, entre as quais, atividades presenciais, à distância e práticas na temática síndromes genéticas e inclusão. RESULTADOS: em ambos os grupos os escores do pós-teste são significantemente maiores, demonstrando atitudes mais favoráveis após o programa de capacitação. CONCLUSÃO: torna-se evidente a necessidade de programas de intervenção que proporcionem mudanças de atitudes contribuindo no processo de inclusão.
