Abstract This study aimed to assess cassava root and stem yield at different spacings and four transplanting seasons of seedlings produced by an adaptation of the rapid multiplication method. The experimental design was a randomized block design with three replications in a factorial (4 × 5) arranged in strips. Treatments consisted of the combinations of growing seasons (November 9 and 24 and December 3 and 26) and spacings (0.6 × 0.6, 0.8 × 0.8, 0.8 × 0.6, 1.0 × 0.6, and 1.0 × 0.8 m). The percentage of survival, main stem branching height, number of branches, base, middle, and upper diameter, mean diameter, stem length, number of buds per stem and hectare, root length and diameter, root fresh matter per plant and hectare, and number of roots per plant were measured at harvest. Seedling transplanting performed up to November 24 favored the expression of stem and root yield. The spacing of 1.0 × 0.6 m was the most suitable for stem yield traits.

RESUMO Objetivou-se neste estudo avaliar o efeito da aplicação dos bioestimulantes Seed+ e Crop+ nas variáveis fisiológicas e produtivas e na atividade de enzimas antioxidantes (superóxido dismutase - SOD e guaiacol peroxidase - POD) em plantas de tomateiro submetidas a duas condições hídricas do solo. O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegetação, em esquema fatorial 2 x 2 x 6, sendo duas épocas de aplicação dos bioestimulantes (florescimento e frutificação), duas condições hídricas do solo (50 e 100% da capacidade de retenção de água no solo) e seis bioestimulantes (tratamento controle; Seed+; Seed+ + Crop+ 1x; Seed+ + Crop+ 2x; Crop+ 1x; + Crop+ 2x). O delineamento experimental foi inteiramente casualizado, com quatro repetições. Os bioestimulantes Seed+ e Crop+ aumentaram o rendimento quântico do fotossistema II (Fv/Fm), independente do momento de aplicação e da condição hídrica do solo. Os bioestimulantes Seed+ + Crop+ 2x e Crop+ 2x, destacaram-se no período de antemanhã, apresentando média de Fv/Fm de 0,813, nas condições testadas. A maior atividade de SOD (372,12 U mg-1 de proteína) foi com bioestimulante Crop+ 2x na frutificação e sob déficit hídrico. Para POD, quando em deficiência hídrica, os melhores resultados ocorreram com os bioestimulantes Seed+ + Crop+ 2x; Crop+ 1x e Crop+ 2x na floração (810,94; 691,19 e 921,59 U mg-1 de proteína) e na frutificação (703,60; 800,00 e 972,62 U mg-1 de proteína). Assim, a utilização dos bioestimulantes Seed+ e Crop+ pode ser uma alternativa para auxiliar na mitigação dos danos causados pela deficiência hídrica na cultura do tomateiro.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the application of the biostimulants Seed+ and Crop+ on physiological and production variables and on the activity of antioxidant enzymes (superoxide dismutase - SOD and guaiacol peroxidase - POD) in tomato plants subjected to two soil water conditions. The experiment was carried out in a greenhouse, in a 2 x 2 x 6 factorial scheme, with two times of application of the biostimulants (flowering and fruiting), two soil water conditions (50 and 100% of soil water holding capacity) and six biostimulants (control treatment; Seed+; Seed+ + Crop+ 1x; Seed+ + Crop+ 2x; Crop+ 1x; + Crop+ 2x). The exprimental design was completely randomized, with four repetitions. The biostimulants Seed+ and Crop+ increased the quantum yield of photosystem II (Fv/Fm), regardless of the time of application and water condition of the soil. The biostimulants Seed+ + Crop+ 2x and Crop+ 2x stood out in the pre-morning period, with an average Fv/Fm of 0.813, under the conditions tested. The highest SOD activity (372.12 U mg-1 of protein) was obtained with Crop+ 2x biostimulant in fruiting and under water deficit. For POD, when under water deficit, the best results were obtained with the biostimulants Seed+ + Crop+ 2x, Crop+ 1x and Crop+ 2x in flowering (810.94; 691.19 and 921.59 U mg-1 protein) and in fruiting (703.60; 800.00 and 972.62 U mg-1 protein). Thus, the use of Seed+ and Crop+ biostimulants can be an alternative to help mitigate the damage caused by water deficit in tomato crop.

RESUMO Buscou-se constatar a existência de interações entre condições hídricas do solo, nitrogênio e herbicidas comumente utilizados para controle de papuã no cultivo do arroz irrigado. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi inteiramente casualizado, arranjado em um esquema fatorial 2 x 3 x 4, sendo duas condições hídricas do solo (lâmina d’água de 5 cm e 100% de capacidade de retenção de água do solo), três doses de nitrogênio (0, 80 e 160 kg de N ha-1) e doses de herbicidas (0, 0,5, 1 e 2 vezes a dose de registro). Os herbicidas avaliados foram cyhalofop-butyl, imazapyr + imazapic e imazethapyr. Os tratamentos foram repetidos quatro vezes. Avaliou-se a fitotoxicidade e a massa seca aos 28 dias após a aplicação. Para cyhalofop-butyl e imazapyr + imazapic, a fitotoxicidade nas condições de 100% da capacidade de retenção de água do solo e lâmina d’água foi superior nos tratamentos com adubação nitrogenada. Entretanto, para imazethapyr na condição de 100% da capacidade de retenção de água do solo houve aumento de 45% da fitotoxicidade na ausência de adubação nitrogenada em comparação à condição com adubação. Para a condição de alagamento, a partir da dose de 35 g de i.a. ha-1, o resultado no controle para o herbicida imazethapyr foi otimizado nas condições de adubação com 80 e 160 kg de N ha-1. Cyhalofop-butyl e imazapyr + imazapic sofrem interação sinérgica com a adubação nitrogenada e a condição hídrica na eficiência do controle, já com imazethapyr, a interação sinérgica só ocorre em 100% da capacidade de retenção de água do solo.

ABSTRACT The present study sought to verify the existence of interactions between the soil water conditions, nitrogen and herbicides commonly used to control alexandergrass in irrigated rice crop. The experimental design was completely randomized, arranged in a 2 x 3 x 4 factorial scheme, corresponding to two soil water conditions (5 cm water depth and 100% soil water holding capacity [WHC]), three nitrogen doses (0, 80 and 160 kg of N ha-1) and four doses of herbicides (0, 0.5, 1 and 2 times the registration dose). The herbicides evaluated were cyhalofop-butyl, imazapyr + imazapic and imazethapyr. The treatments were repeated four times. Phytotoxicity and dry mass were evaluated 28 days after application. For cyhalofop-butyl and imazapyr + imazapic, the phytotoxicity at 100% WHC and 5 cm water depth conditions was higher in treatments with nitrogen fertilization. However, for imazethapyr under the 100% WHC condition of soil increased phytotoxicity in the absence of nitrogen fertilization. For the flooded condition, from the dose of 35 g of a.i. ha-1, the result in the control for the herbicide imazethapyr was optimized under the conditions of fertilization with 80 and 160 kg of N ha-1. Cyhalofop-butyl and imazapyr + imazapic undergo synergistic interaction with nitrogen fertilization and water status in the control efficiency, yet with imazethapyr, the synergistic interaction only occurs under 100% of soil WHC.

Foi verificado o atendimento às pressuposições do modelo matemático e, identificadas transformações de dados para variáveis produtivas e morfológicas de tomateiro em experimentos em túnel plástico e em campo, considerando cada data de colheita e colheitas agrupadas em duas estações de cultivo. Dois experimentos foram conduzidos em túnel plástico e um em campo, ambos no delineamento de blocos ao acaso com três repetições. Foram analisados a massa, número, comprimento e largura de frutos. Foram utilizados os testes de não aditividade de Tukey, Lilliefors, Bartlett e de Aleatoriedade para verificar respectivamente, a aditividade dos efeitos do modelo, normalidade, homogeneidade e aleatoriedade dos erros. Nos casos de violação, os dados foram transformados, e novamente submetidos à análise das pressuposições do modelo matemático. As variáveis produtivas e morfológicas de tomateiro apresentam atendimento ao pressuposto da aditividade dos efeitos. Ocorrem violações das variáveis produtivas e morfológicas às pressuposições de normalidade, homogeneidade e aleatoriedade dos erros. O agrupamento de todas as colheitas para análise proporciona atendimento das variáveis produtivas e morfológicas aos pressupostos de normalidade e homogeneidade dos erros. A transformação que possibilita maior proporção de atendimento das variáveis produtivas e morfológicas aos pressupostos de normalidade, homogeneidade e aleatoriedade dos erros é a raiz quadrada.

The adequation to the presuppositions of the mathematical model was verified and, identified data transformation for productive and morphological variables of tomato in experiments in plastic tunnel and in field, considering each harvest date and grouped harvests in two cultivation seasons. Two experiments were carried out in plastic tunnel and one in field, both in a randomized block design with three replications. We analyzed the mass, number, length and width of fruits. The tests of Tukey of non-additivity, Lilliefors, Bartlett and Run test were used to verify, respectively, the additivity of the effects of the model, normality, homogeneity and randomness of errors. In cases of violation, the data were transformed, and re-submitted to the analysis of the presuppositions of the mathematical model. The productive and morphological variables of tomato presented adequation to the presupposition of additivity of effects. Violations of the productive and morphological variables occur to the presupposition of: normality, homogeneity and randomness of errors. The grouping of all harvests for analysis provides adequation of productive and morphological variables to the presuppositions of normality and homogeneity of errors. The data transformation that provides more proportion of adequation of productive and morphological variables to the presuppositions of normality, homogeneity and randomness of errors is the square root.
