RESUMO A permanencia de material obturador após o retratamento pode abrigar bactérias e tecidos orgánicos que podem influenciar o resultado da terapia. Objetivo O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar, por micro-CT, a quantidade de material obturador remanescente no canal radicular após a desobturagdo com WaveOne Gold e ProDesign RT. Material e Método Quarenta caninos inferiores humanos foram instrumentados com o sistema ProTaper Next até o instrumento X2 (25.06) e obturados com cones de guta-percha e AHPlus. Os dentes foram divididos em dois grupos (n=20): WaveOne Gold 25.07 (WOG) e ProDesign RT 25.08 (PRT) e escaneados em micro-CT para quantificagdo do volume de material obturador remanescente. Os dados foram submetidos á transformando log10, o teste t de Student foi realizado para contabilizar múltiplas observagoes por amostra, a significáncia foi fixada em 5%. Resultados O teste t de Student mostrou que ndo houve diferenga no volume de material obturador remanescente entre os dois sistemas nos tergos: apical (p = 0,392), médio (p = 0,065) ou cervical (p = 0,918). Conclusao O material obturador remanescente estavapresente em todos os grupos e ambos os sistemas foram semelhantes na remogdo do material obturador radicular nos caninos inferiores.

ABSTRACT The remaining filling material after retreatment can harbor bacteria and organic tissues that can influence the outcome of the therapy. Aim The aim of this study was to evalúate, by micro-CT, the amount of filling material remaining in the root canal after its removal using WaveOne Gold or ProDesign RT. Material and Method Forty human mandibular canines were instrumented with the ProTaper Next system up to the X2 instrument (25.06) and filled with gutta-percha cones and AHPlus. Teeth were divided into 2 groups (n=20): WaveOne Gold 25.07 (WOG) and ProDesign RT 25.08 (PRT) for filling removal, after which they were scanned in a micro-CT device to quantify the volume of remaining filling material. The data were subjected to log 10 transformation, Student ’s t-test was performed to account for multiple observationsper sample, significance was set at 5%. Results Student ’s t-test showed that there was no difference between the two systems regarding the volume of remaining filling material in the thirds: apical (p = 0.392), middle (p = 0.065), or cervical (p = 0.918). Resumo O objetivo do presente estudo é dimensionar o agronegócio dos países em termos de renda (Produto Interno Bruto - PIB) e água (pegada hídrica), além de estimar um indicador de sustentabilidade (água por unidade de renda). A metodologia é baseada na matriz insumo-produto e foi aplicada para 189 países com enfoque sobre as vinte maiores economias (PIB) no ano de 2015. O PIB do agronegócio mundial era de US$12,3 trilhões e a pegada hídrica de 151 trilhões de metros cúbicos, os valores representavam respectivamente 18% e 97,5% dos totais do sistema produtivo. A participação da renda do agronegócio no total do sistema produtivo dos países variou entre 4% e 61%. Abstract The objective of this study is to measure the countries' agribusiness in terms of income (Gross Domestic Product - GDP) and water (water footprint), in addition to estimating a sustainability indicator (water per unit of income). The methodology is based on the input-output matrix and was applied to 189 countries with a focus on the twenty largest economies (GDP) in 2015. The GDP of world agribusiness was US$12.3 trillion and the water footprint of 151 trillion cubic meters, the values represented respectively 18% and 97.5% of the total production system. The share of agribusiness income in the total productive system of the countries ranged from 4% to 61%. RESUMO Euterpe precatoria Mart. (açaí-do-amazonas) e Euterpe oleracea Mart. (açaí-do-pará) são palmeiras de importância socioeconômica para o Brasil, e a demanda por frutos vem aumentando devido às suas características nutricionais. Objetivou-se avaliar o efeito das mudanças climáticas globais na distribuição geográfica atual de E. precatoria e E. oleracea e em cenários climáticos futuros, por meio de modelagem de nicho ecológico, nos âmbitos dos territórios brasileiros. As modelagens foram realizadas utilizando-se 28 variáveis ambientais, incluindo dados climáticos e edáficos. A distribuição atual foi verificada para o período de referência (2009-2019) e as projeções futuras em dois cenários (Shared Socioeconomic Pathways - SSP): SSP 245 (menos pessimista) e SSP 585 (mais pessimista), no intervalo de tempo 2061-2080. ABSTRACT Euterpe precatória Mart. (açaí-do-amazonas) and Euterpe oleracea Mart. (açaí-do-pará) are palm trees of socioeconomic importance to Brazil, and fruit demand has increased due to its nutritional characteristics. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of global climate change on the current geographic distribution of E. precatória and E. oleracea and in future climate scenarios using the ecological niche modeling in the scope of Brazilian territories. The modelings used 28 environmental variables, including climatic and edaphic data. The current distribution was verified for the reference period (2009-2019) and future projections were evaluated in two scenarios (Shared Socioeconomic Pathways - SSP): SSP 245 (less pessimistic) and SSP 585 (more pessimistic), in the time interval of 2061-2080. All algorithms presented satisfactory evaluation indexes. Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a estabilidade de implante e a microarquitetura óssea em duas técnicas de fresagem, comparando a técnica convencional (CT) e a osseodensificação (OD) (Versah Burs - Jackson - Mississippi - EUA). O torque de inserção do implante (IT), quociente de estabilidade primária (ISQ) e a estrutura trabecular peri-implantar foram avaliados em fragmentos ósseos obtidos de tíbia de porco (n=12), divididos entre CT (n=6) e OD (n=6). Após o procedimento de fresagem, foram instalados implantes (3,5x8,5 mm, Epikut - SIN - São Paulo - Brasil). O IT e o ISQ foram aferidos por meio de um torquimetro digital e análise de frequência de ressonância. Em seguida, os fragmentos ósseos contendo os implantes foram removidos com trefina e analisados por microtomografia computadorizada (µCT, 8,0 µm). A comparação entre os grupos foi realizada por meio do teste-t não-pareado (α=0.05). Abstract: The aim was to evaluate primary implant stability and bone microarchitecture in two drilling situations, by comparing the conventional technique (CT) and osseodensification (OD) (Versah Burs - Jackson - Mississippi - USA). The implant insertion torque (IT), implant stability quotient (ISQ), and the peri-implant trabecular microstructure were assessed on bone fragments obtained from pig’s tibia (n=12), divided between CT (n=6) and OD (n=6). After the drilling procedure, the implants were installed (3.5x8.5 mm, Epikut - SIN - São Paulo - Brazil). The IT and ISQ were measured using a digital torque wrench and resonance frequency analysis. Then, the bone fragments containing the implants were removed with a trephine and analyzed by Microtomography (µCT, 8.0 µm). The comparison between groups was performed using the unpaired t-test (α=0.05). The results revealed that OD promotes a higher insertion torque (CT: 7.67±2.44 Ncm; OD: 19.78±5.26 Ncm) (p=0.0005), although ISQ was not different (CT: 61.33±4.66; OD: 63.25±4.58) (p=0.48). RESUMO As áreas de várzeas amazônicas possuem valor ecológico agregado aos seus múltiplos serviços ecossistêmicos, incluindo o abastecimento de água, regulagem do clima local, biodiversidade com um número acentuado de espécies endêmicas e com diversidade de micro-habitat. Considerando a importância da conservação desses ambientes, este estudo objetivou analisar o comportamento e delimitar as áreas de distribuição natural das espécies florestais Alchornea castaneifolia (Willd.) A. Juss e Laetia corymbulosa (várzea baixa) e Maquira coriacea (H. Karst.) C.C. Berg (Moraceae) e Ocotea cymbarum Kunth (várzea alta), além de avaliar os impactos potenciais das mudanças climáticas sobre a distribuição futura, inferindo sobre a sua conservação. A modelagem de distribuição potencial das espécies foi feita com o uso do Environmental Modelling & Software, a partir dos algoritmos como: Bioclim, Domain, Maximum Entropy, Random Forests e Support Vector Machine (SVM). As projeções indicam que as mudanças climáticas representam ameaça à ocorrência das espécies de várzea. Sob o cenário SSP 585 para ambos os períodos, as quatro espécies estudadas perderão áreas de adequação climática até o final do século XXI, principalmente, na Amazônia brasileira. O estudo mostra a necessidade de aumentar a responsabilidade socioambiental para conservação das áreas protegidas atuais em ecossistemas de água doce e, implementar novas áreas prioritárias para a conservação de zonas úmidas (Sítios Ramsar) na Amazônia. ABSTRACT The areas of Amazonian floodplains have added ecological value to their multiple ecosystem services, including water supply, local climate regulation, biodiversity with a marked number of endemic species, and diversity of micro-habitat. Considering the importance of conserving these environments, this study aimed to analyze the behavior and delimit the areas of the natural distribution of forest species Alchornea castaneifolia (Willd.) A. Juss and Laetia corymbulosa (lowland low), Maquira coriacea (H.Karst.) C.C. Berg (Moraceae), and Ocotea cymbarum Kunth (high floodplain), besides evaluating the potential impacts of climate change on the future distribution inferring on its conservation. The potential species distribution was modeled using Environmental Modelling & Software, by employing algorithms such as Bioclim, Domain, Maximum Entropy, Random Forests, and Support Vector Machine (SVM). The projections indicate that climate change threatens the occurrence of floodplain species. Under the SSP 585 scenario for both periods, the four species studied will lose areas of climatic adequacy until the end of the 21st century, especially in the Brazilian Amazon. The study shows the need to increase socio-environmental responsibility through conserving current protected areas in freshwater ecosystems and implementing new priority areas for conserving wetlands (Ramsar Sites) in the Amazon. Aim To determine new energy parameters in micro-CT to allow appropriate segmentation of dental cementum from the surrounding structures. Methods For this pilot study, 11 single-rooted premolar teeth of young subjects aged 12 to 21 were selected. The teeth were scanned using high-energy microtomography (SkyScan 1173, Bruker) with varying acquisition energies (60, 70, and 80 kV). Each tooth was scanned three times. The images were reconstructed and analyzed by calculating the volume (mm3) of dental cementum in the cervical, middle, and apical root thirds among the different scanned stacks. The mean cementum volume in the root thirds was obtained, and correlated with the patient’s age, using Pearson’s correlation. Results The mean age of the patients in the sample was 16,73 years. For the 60kV energy, the cementum volumes were 1.01 mm3, 1.00 mm3, and 0.58 mm3, for the cervical, middle, and apical thirds, respectively. For 70kV, it was 1.08 mm3, 1.20 mm3, and 0.71 mm3 for the respective thirds. And for 80kV,0.55 mm3, 0.91 mm3, and 0.67 mm3 for the respective thirds. Conclusion An acquisition energy of 70kV resulted in the best segmentation and reproducibility of the results. Resumo O método de espectrometria de raios gama é uma alternativa para medir rapidamente a intensidade da radiação emitida pelos elementos U (urânio), K (potássio) e Th (tório) da superfície do solo, podendo dar suporte ao mapeamento tradicional de solos. O excesso de potássio pode ser prejudicial à videira, fato que ocorre frequentemente em regiões tropicais e a manutenção da matéria orgânica é mais difícil em solos arenosos. O mapeamento desses aspectos pode subsidiar o manejo agrícola e, quando aplicado à viticultura, pode incentivar a produção de vinhos diferenciados para um mercado competitivo no mundo. A área de estudo localiza-se em Santana do Livramento, Brasil, onde foram avaliadas as distribuições dos teores de radio-elementos, em diferentes tipos de solo e relevo, bem como o seu mapeamento dentro dos vinhedos. Os dados de radio-elementos e o modelo digital de elevação foram interpolados pelo método de krigagem, gerando mapas com resolução de 5 metros. Os resultados geraram mapas de altimetria e níveis de U, Th e K, bem como a classificação para cada elemento de rádio: alto teor, médio teor e baixo teor. Perfis de solo também foram feitos ao redor da fazenda, a fim de observar a variação vertical dos radio-elementos. Abstract The gamma-ray spectrometry method is an alternative for quickly measuring the intensity of the radiation emitted by the elements U (uranium), K (potassium) and Th (thorium) from the soil surface, being able to support the traditional soil mapping. The excess of potassium can be harmful to vines, a fact that often occurs in tropical regions and the maintenance of organic matter is more difficult in sandy soils. The mapping of these aspects can support agricultural management and, when applied to viticulture, can encourage the production of differentiated wines for a competitive market in the world. The studied area is located in “Santana do Livramento”, Brazil, where the distributions of radio-elements contents were evaluated, in different types of soil and relief, as well as their mapping within the vineyards. The radio-element data and the digital elevation model were interpolated by the kriging method, generating maps with a resolution of 5 meters. The results generated maps of altimetry and levels of U, Th and K, as well as the classification for each radio-element: high content, medium content and low content. Soil profiles were also made around the farm, in order to observe the vertical variation of radio-elements. The zoning of U, Th and K in the soil presented the gamma-spectrometry as a quick alternative to measure the variations of these elements and thus, indicating areas to be monitored for the content of potassium and organic matter, avoiding diseases or deficiencies of other elements of the soil. soil, related to anomalies or the content of radio-elements.

Resumo BRS Manicoré é um híbrido interespecífico entre Elaeis oleifera e (ISH Elaeis guineensisOxG). Em cultivo no Brasil, BRS Manicoré demonstrou alto potencial produtivo e resistência genética a problemas fitossanitários. Estudos têm indicado diferença na composição do óleo dos ISH OxG e da palma de óleo, bem como a influência do genótipo e do ambiente nas características do óleo de palma. O objetivo deste trabalho foi determinar a composição em ácidos graxos, carotenoides e tococromanóis das frações oleína e estearina do óleo produzido a partir do ISH OxG cultivado em Una, Bahia, por cromatografias líquida e gasosa. Houve diferença significativa nos ácidos graxos, nos carotenoides e nos tococromanóis entre oleína e viestearina(p<0,05). Abstract BRS Manicoré cultivar is an interspecific hybrid between Elaeis oleifera and Elaeis guineensis(ISH OxG). It has shown high yield potential and genetic resistance to phytosanitary problems in cultivation in Brazil. Studies have indicated differences in the composition of ISH OxG and palm oils, as well as the influence of genotype and environment on palm oil characteristics. The aim of this study was to assess the distribution of fatty acids, carotenoids, and tocochromanols in the olein and stearin fractions of the oil produced by the ISH OxG cultivated in municipality of Una, state of Bahia, Brazil by liquid and gas chromatography. There were significant differences for fatty acids, carotenoids and total tocochromanols between olein and stearin (p<0.05). ABSTRACT Objective: To compare the agreement of images in white light (WL), fluorescence (FL), and digital radiographs (DR), on the diagnosis and treatment decisions for occlusal caries lesions against a micro-CT gold standard. Material and Methods: Ten extracted third molars, with enamel and/or dentin caries (ICDAS 2-4), were included. Occlusal surface images were acquired with an intraoral camera (SoproLife®) in WL and FL modes. DR was obtained using an intraoral X-ray and a semi-direct digital system. A total of 780 images were needed, organized in a template, to be later examined by twenty-six dentists invited to compose the study. The Generalized Estimation Equations model was used to compare the proportions of the correct answers between the three methods and the gold standard. When significant, Bonferroni post-hoc test was used to identify differences (α=5%). Results: Most of the examiners were specialists (76.9%) with 14.5 years of experience. All diagnostic methods were similar and showed low agreement (DR 12.7%, WL 16.5%, and FL 16.5%) compared with gold standard caries diagnostic scores. Regarding treatment decisions, mean agreement for all diagnostic methods was higher (43.2%; p<0.001), and among all methods, WL (48.1%) and FL (51.2%) modes performed better than DR (30.4%, p<0.001). RESUMO Astrocaryum aculeatum Mart. e Astrocaryum acaule Mart. são palmeiras que apresentam importância ecológica e para o extrativismo na Amazônia. São espécies rústicas e que foram associadas a sítios arqueológicos e à presença de humanos em determinadas áreas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi verificar o efeito das mudanças climáticas globais na distribuição geográfica potencial de A. acaule e A. aculeatum, no período atual e em cenários climáticos futuros, utilizando a modelagem de nicho ecológico nos domínios fitogeográficos brasileiros. As modelagens foram baseadas em 19 variáveis bioclimáticas, obtidas no site do Worldclim, e quatro algoritmos (Climate space model, Envelope Score, Niche Mosaic e Enviromental Distance), dos quais o algoritmo Environmental Distance apresentou maior similaridade quanto à distribuição das espécies com ocorrência potencial nos cinco domínios brasileiros (Amazônia, Pantanal, Caatinga, Cerrado e Mata Atlântica). Os padrões de dispersão foram muito similares entre as duas palmeiras de Astrocaryum, porém A. aculeatum é mais sensível às variações climáticas. A. acaule tem potencial para ser mais resiliente às mudanças, podendo recolonizar a porção sul da Amazônia em cenários futuros, no ano de 2070. ABSTRACT Astrocaryum aculeatum Mart. Moreover, Astrocaryum acaule Mart. are palm trees with ecological and extractive importance in the Amazon. These are hearty species that have been associated with archaeological sites and thrive in the presence of humans in certain areas. This work aimed to verify the effect of global climate change on the potential geographic distribution of A. acaule and A. aculeatum in the current period and future climate scenarios using ecological niche modeling in Brazilian phytogeographic domains. The modeling was based on 19 bioclimatic variables obtained from the Worldclim website and four algorithms (Climate space model, Envelope Score, Niche Mosaic, and Environmental Distance). Additionally, the Environmental Distance algorithm showed greater similarity regarding species distribution with potential occurrence in the five Brazilian domains (Amazon, Pantanal, Caatinga, Cerrado, and Atlantic Forest). The dispersion patterns were very similar between the two Astrocaryum palms though A. aculeatum was more sensitive to climatic variations. A. acaule may be more resilient to changes, as demonstrated by being able to recolonize in the southern portion of the Amazon in future scenarios in the year 2070. The modeling helped to delimit potential areas for A. aculeatum and A. acaule, indicating the need for the conservation of the species in more sensitive regions. SUMMARY OBJECTIVES: The transition from face-to-face to remote teaching is yet to be fully understood. In clinical training, traditional teaching must prevail because it is essential for the acquisition of skills and professionalism. However, the responses of each school to the pandemic and the decision on when to resume clerkship rotations were mixed. In this study, we aimed to analyze whether the time to resume clerkship rotations was associated with the performance of the students by using a multi-institutional Progress Test. METHODS: This is a cross-sectional study conducted at nine different Brazilian medical schools that administer the same annual Progress Test for all students. We included information from 1,470 clerkship medical students and analyzed the time of clinical training interruption as the independent variable and the student’s scores as the dependent variable. RESULTS: The comparisons of the students’ scores between the schools showed that there are differences; however, they cannot be attributed to the time the clerkship rotations were paused. The correlation between the schools’ average scores and the time to resume clerkship rotations was not significant for the fifth year (r= -0.298, p=0.436) and for the sixth year (r= -0.440, p=0.240). By using a cubic regression model, the time to resume clerkship rotations could explain 3.4% of the 5-year students’ scores (p<0.001) and 0.9% of the 6–year students, without statistical difference (p=0.085). CONCLUSIONS: The differences between the students’ scores cannot be attributed to the time when the schools paused the clerkship rotations.

A obesidade e os distúrbios relacionados à obesidade desempenham um papel importante na apneia obstrutiva do sono e sua relação com o aumento da resistência das vias aéreas superiores. Objetivo Avaliar a relação entre a obesidade e as propriedades da cavidade nasal em pacientes com apneia obstrutiva do sono. Método O estudo foi feito retrospectivamente através da revisão de prontuários médicos de pacientes adultos. O instrumento de avaliação NOSE, do inglês nasal obstruction symptom evaluation, foi usado para avaliar a obstrução nasal. Os distúrbios respiratórios do sono foram avaliados através de exames polissonográficos. O volume nasal foi obtido por tomografia computadorizada e a reconstrução volumétrica das vias aéreas nasais. As alterações anatômicas nasais foram avaliadas por endoscopia nasal. Resultados A análise dos prontuários de 83 pacientes, entre os quais 54 eram do sexo masculino e 29 do feminino, encontrou um índice de massa corporal médio de 28,69 kg/m2. Os grupos obeso e não obeso foram determinados com o ponto de corte de 30 kg/m2. Na comparação entre os grupos, o grupo obeso apresentou correlação positiva e significante com o índice de apneia/hipopneia (p = 0,02), instrumento NOSE (p = 0,033) e hipertrofia da concha inferior (p = 0,036), com uma odds ratio de 1,983 (IC95%: 1,048 a 3,753). A avaliação do desvio do septo nasal (p = 0,126) e do volume das vias aéreas nasais (p = 0,177) não mostrou resultados significantes. Conclusão A obesidade correlacionou-se significantemente com a obstrução nasal subjetiva pela escala NOSE e hipertrofia de concha inferior em pacientes com apneia obstrutiva do sono. Abstract Introduction Obstructive sleep apnea is a consequence of upper airway collapse. Any obstructive sector in the upper airway can contribute to pharyngeal collapse. Obesity and obesity-related disorders play an important role in obstructive sleep apnea and its relationship with increased upper airway resistance. Objective This study was designed to evaluate the relationship between obesity and properties of the nasal cavity in patients with obstructive sleep apnea. Methods The study was conducted retrospectively by review of medical records of adult patients. The nasal obstruction symptom evaluation, NOSE instrument, was used to measure nasal obstruction. Sleep breathing disorders were evaluated by polysomnography exams. Nasal volume was obtained by computed tomography scans and volumetric reconstruction of nasal airway. Nasal anatomic alterations were assessed by nasal endoscopy. Results Analysis of 83 patient records, among whom 54 were male and 29 females, found the mean body mass index of 28.69 kg/m2. Obese and non-obese groups were determined by using cut-off 30 kg/m2. In the comparison between groups, the obese group had a positive and significant correlation with apnea/hypopnea index (p= 0.02), NOSE instrument (p= 0.033) and inferior turbinate hypertrophy (p= 0.036), with odds ratio 1.983 (95% IC 1.048 − 3.753). nasal septum deviation (p= 0.126) and nasal airway volume evaluation (p= 0.177) showed no significant results. Resumo As fluoroquinolonas atuam como substâncias fotossensibilizantes, potenciando os efeitos da radiação UVA na pele. A radiação UVA desencadeia lesões tanto no ADN como nos restantes organelos celulares por reações de tipo I e tipo II (major e minor), cujos produtos de reação altamente reativos são capazes de alterar a composição química das bases de nucleótidos, induzir quebras da cadeia, oxidar macromoléculas e organelos. A reposta celular pode desencadear mecanismos de apoptose, provocando uma reação de fototoxicidade na pele, que pode ser reconhecida clinicamente como eritema, lesões bolhosas ou eczematosas, pseudoporfiria, onicólise ou pústulas subcorneas. Além disso, as células com lesões em oncogenes e/ou genes supressores tumorais podem não ser capazes de promover a apoptose e, desta forma, originar uma célula tumoral. Tem havido uma crescente evidência na literatura de que fármacos fotossensibilizantes aumentam o potencial fotocarcinogénico da radiação UV. Além de fotocarcinogénica, a radiação UV é imunossupressora, o que pode justificar que células tumorais proliferem sem controlo. O estado de imunossupressão parece ser também agravado pelas fluorquinolones. Estes fármacos provaram ser fotogenotóxicos e fotocarcinogénicos em estudos in vitro e em animais. Os estudos clínicos parecem sugerir um risco aumentado de aparecimento de cancro de pele em doentes a tomar fluoroquinolonas, havendo um aparente incremento do risco em tratamentos mais longos. O presente artigo conclui uma possível associação entre a toma de fluoroquinolonas e risco de cancro cutâneo, mas também evidencia uma lacuna de estudos na literatura. Desta forma, é importante reforçar as medidas preventivas face à exposição solar.

Abstract Fluoroquinolones are photosensitizing drugs in humans, as they can enhance effects of ultraviolet A (UVA) radiation on the skin. UVA causes lesions both to deoxyribonucleic acid and other cellular organelles by Type I and Type II reactions (major and minor). The resulting photoproducts are highly reactive and can change the chemical composition of nucleotide bases, induce strand breaks and disrupt macromolecules and organelles. The cellular response can trigger apoptosis, causing a phototoxic skin reaction, recognized clinically as erythema, bullous or eczematous lesions, pseudoporphyria, onycholysis or subcorneal pustules. Moreover, cells with defects in oncogenes and/or tumor suppressor genes may be unable to promote apoptosis and thus give rise to a tumor cell. There has been growing evidence in the literature that photosensitizing drugs increase the photocarcinogenesis potential of UV radiation. In addition to being photocarcinogenic, UV radiation is immunosuppressive, which may explain why tumor cells multiply without control. The immunosuppression seems to be enhanced by fluoroquinolones. These drugs have proven to be photogenotoxic and photocarcinogenic in vitro and in animals. Clinical studies seem to suggest an increased risk of skin cancer in patients taking fluoroquinolones, with an even higher risk with longer courses of treatment. This article suggests a possible association between fluoroquinolones and skin cancer but also highlights a gap in the literature. Thus, it is important to increase preventive measures regarding sun exposure.

Observou-se que o aumento nas exportações proporcionará aumento no valor bruto da produção nacional de R$ 158,3 milhões (direta e indiretamente), além de gerar 1,2 mil novos empregos, R$ 24,6 milhões em renda do trabalho e R$ 6,5 milhões em impostos. Mesmo não sendo um setor-chave na economia brasileira, verificou-se que o crescimento das exportações de café beneficiado, após o acordo, favorecerá a atividade econômica no país, proporcionando crescimento da produção nacional, emprego, renda e impostos.

Abstract: The present article evaluated the impacts of the Trade Agreement between the European Union (EU) and Mercosur on the Brazilian economy, focusing on the sector of roasted and soluble coffee (processed), which will have export tariffs eliminated in 4 years after its implementation. This may be considered one of the largest free trade areas in the world, and the elimination of tariffs is expected to increase exports of the processed coffee sector to the EU by 33%. Input-Product analysis was used, based on data from the national accounts with 128 products and 68 sectors in 2017, to estimate the Rasmussen-Hirschman connection indexes, dispersion indexes, product, income, taxes, and job multipliers. It was observed that the increase in exports may provide an increase in the gross value of national production of R$ 158.3 million (directly and indirectly), in addition to generating 1.2 thousand new jobs, R$ 24.6 million in labor income, and R$ 6.5 million in taxes. Even though this agreement is not considered a key sector in the Brazilian economy, it was found that the growth of processed coffee exports, after its implementation, may favor the country's economic activity, providing growth in national production, employment, income, and taxes.
