Abstract Background Local anesthetic puncture is often related to the experience of pain. This study aimed to systematically analyze the literature on changes in pain perception during the anesthetic puncture of dental local anesthesia after Photobiomodulation Therapy (PBMT). Material and methods An electronic search was performed in eight primary databases (Embase, LILACS, BBO, LIVIVO, MedLine via PubMed, SciELO, Scopus, and Web of Science) and three additional ones (EASY, Google Scholar, and OATD) to partially capture the “gray literature”. The PICO strategy was used to identify randomized clinical trials evaluating the analgesic effect of PBMT in the anesthetic puncture site of dental local anesthesia compared to placebo or control groups, without restrictions on publication language and year. Two reviewers extracted the data and assessed the individual risk of bias of the eligible studies using the Cochrane Collaboration Risk of Bias Tool version 2.0. Results The electronic search found 3,485 records, of which eight met the eligibility criteria and were included in the qualitative synthesis. The studies were published from 2011 to 2022. None of the included studies had a low risk of bias. PBMT groups showed no significant difference in pain scores compared to placebo and control groups of most studies. Conclusion Based on a low to very low certainty of evidence, PBMT seems to have no effect on pain perception during anesthetic puncture in patients undergoing dental local anesthesia. PBMT. . ABSTRACT Objective: To analyze nursing skills in military aeromedical transport of the Brazilian Air Force. Method: Descriptive, qualitative research, carried out in three Brazilian Air Force hospitals in Rio de Janeiro, involving 64 military nurses. Discursive textual analysis identified competencies in healthcare, communication and decision-making. Results: After characterizing participants, it was possible to understand the reality experienced by nursing professionals in air medical transport, highlighting the skills related to healthcare, communication and management, essential in all phases of air medical transport. Conclusion: It was evident that nursing assumes unique skills in caring for airborne patients, using diverse knowledge and experiences in solving problems encountered in the aeromedical work process. The need to implement continuing education strategies was also highlighted. Abstract Objectives: to analyze the trend and spatial distribution of hepatitis B in pregnant women in Brazil. Methods: ecological study based on all notified cases of hepatitis B in pregnant women through the Information System for Notifiable Diseases – Sinan between 2009 and 2018. Hepatitis B virus (HBV) detection rates were calculated in all municipalities. Spatial analysis was performed using the Global Moran Index for global data and local indicators of spatial association (Lisa) for the 5,570 municipalities. For trend analysis by State, the Prais-Winsten generalized linear regression model was used. Results: 15,253 pregnant women with HBV were reported. High detection rates were observed in the municipalities of São Miguel da Boa Vista-SC (68.96/1000 live births (LB)), Araguaiana-MT (68.18/1000 LB), Reserva do Cabaçal-MT (80, 00/1,000 LB), São Geraldo da Piedade-MG (75/1000 LB), Porto Mauá-RS (111, 11/1000 LB), in the respective bienniums. Moran (I) (I=0.056) showed a positive spatial association. In Lisa, 78 municipalities were included in the high-high cluster, 51.28% in the South region and 48 in the low-low cluster with 72.91% in the Southeast. There was an increasing trend in Maranhão (p=0.004) and Pernambuco (p=0.007) and a decrease in Mato Grosso (p=0.012), Paraná (p=0.031) and Santa Catarina (p=0.008). Resumo Objetivos: analisar a tendência e distribuição espacial da hepatite B em gestantes no Brasil. Métodos: estudo ecológico a partir de todos os casos notificados de hepatite B em gestantes pelo Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação – Sinan entre 2009 e 2018. Foram calculadas as taxas de detecção do vírus da hepatite B (HBV) em todos os municípios. A análise espacial foi realizada por meio do Índice Global de Moran para os dados globais e os indicadores locais de associação espacial (Lisa) para os 5.570 municípios. Para análise de tendências por Estado, utilizou-se o modelo de regressão linear generalizada de Prais-Winsten. Resultados: foram notificadas 15.253 gestantes com HBV. Observou-se altas taxas de detecção nos municípios de São Miguel da Boa Vista-SC (68,96/1000 Nascidos vivos (NV)), Araguaiana-MT (68,18/1000 NV), Reserva do Cabaçal-MT(80,00/1.000 NV), São Geraldo da Piedade-MG (75/1000 NV), Porto Mauá-RS (111,11/1000 NV), nos respectivos biênios. ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Specific types of violence such as intimate partner sexual violence and intimate partner homicide occur more frequently in rural areas. OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to systematically review the literature on the knowledge and attitudes of rural healthcare providers regarding cases of domestic violence against women. DESIGN AND SETTING: Systematic review developed at Universidade Federal de Uberlândia. METHODS: We conducted an electronic search of six databases, which only included observational studies, regardless of the year, language, or country of publication, except for studies that used secondary data and were exclusively qualitative. Two reviewers performed the selection, data extraction, and risk of bias assessment using a specific Joanna Briggs Institute tool. RESULTS: Six studies met the inclusion criteria. All the studies had a low risk of bias. Approximately 38% of these professionals identified injuries caused by violence in patients. When asked about knowing the correct attitude to take in cases of confirmed violence, between 12% and 64% of rural healthcare providers answered positively; most of them would refer to specialized institutions and promote victim empowerment and counseling. The number of professionals with an educational background in the field ranged from 16% to 98%. CONCLUSIONS: The evident disparity across studies shows that some professionals have suboptimal knowledge and require training to adopt the correct attitude when identifying female victims of domestic violence in clinical practice. Abstract Does French legislation encourage integration and post-national citizenship? Although French national identity and integration literature reaffirms the exhaustion of the French model and politics for integration, and although traces of economic and social segregation are still observed, data from the Institut national de la statistique et des études économiques and the Migrant Integration Policy Index indicate instead a growing care, from 2015 onwards, to include non-nationals into French society. In light of this mismatch between literature and data, this study tests the hypothesis that the legislative acts published by Paris display a propensity towards welcoming and guaranteeing rights regardless of the immigrants’ nationality. To that end, our research design is multi-method. First, we applied content analysis to 40 regulations referring to immigration, nationality, and citizenship in the period from 2001 to 2022. Then, correspondence analysis was used to gauge the correlation between the proposed categories. Corroborating our hypotheses, the results suggest that (i) French laws, decrees, and ordinances have set norms that are more focused on respecting and welcoming immigrants; and that (ii) there is a correlation between the norms that include non-nationals and those that dissociate the guarantee of rights from nationality. ABSTRACT BACKGROUND: Adolescence is characterized by complex and dynamic changes, often involving experimentation, including the use of psychotropic substances. Although it is well-established that recreational psychotropic drugs are associated with suicide ideation in adults, evidence of this association in adolescents remains limited. OBJECTIVE: To investigate the relationship between suicide ideation and psychotropic recreational drug use among adolescents. DESIGN AND SETTING: Systematic review with meta-analysis developed at Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU) and Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil. METHODS: A search across eight electronic databases for observational studies, without language or publication year restrictions, was conducted. The Joanna Briggs Institute tool was used to assess the risk of bias. Random-effects meta-analyses and odds ratios were used to measure the effects. RESULTS: The search yielded 19,732 studies, of which 78 were included in the qualitative synthesis and 32 in the meta-analysis. The findings indicated that suicidal ideation was 1.96 times more likely (95% confidence interval, CI = 1.47; 2.61) for adolescents who used some drug recurrently and 3.32 times more likely (95%CI = 1.86; 5.93) among those who abused drugs. Additionally, adolescents who used cannabis were 1.57 times more likely (95%CI = 1.34; 1.84) to experience suicide ideation compared with non-users, while cocaine users had 2.57 times higher odds (95%CI = 1.47; 4.50). CONCLUSIONS: Psychotropic recreational drug use is associated with suicidal ideation among adolescents regardless of current or previous use, abuse, or type of substance used. ABSTRACT The breast form of Mondor syndrome is a rare and self-limited condition characterized by thrombophlebitis of the superficial veins of the breast. Understanding this syndrome is extremely important for correct diagnosis and precise, non-iatrogenic treatment, given that it has a considerable relationship with breast carcinoma. This case report portrays the emergence of Mondor syndrome in a young 22-year-old patient, after breast augmentation. The characteristic sign of the condition, the fibrous cord, appeared in the right breast from the twenty-third day after surgery, disappearing completely after 10 weeks. The diagnosis was given by the plastic surgeon who followed the patient through anamnesis and physical examination, without the urgency of a complementary exam, such as a mammography. It is worth mentioning that this rare condition can affect males - less frequently - and affect other regions, such as the penis and scrotum. RESUMO A forma mamária da síndrome de Mondor é uma afecção rara e autolimitada que se caracteriza pela tromboflebite de veias superficiais da mama. Entender tal síndrome é de suma importância para o diagnóstico correto e o tratamento preciso e não iatrogênico, tendo em vista apresentar considerável relação com o carcinoma mamário. Esse relato de caso retrata o surgimento da síndrome de Mondor em uma paciente jovem de 22 anos, após uma mamoplastia de aumento. O sinal característico da afecção, o cordão fibroso, manifestou-se na mama direita a partir do vigésimo terceiro dia de pós-operatório, desaparecendo por completo após 10 semanas. ABSTRACT Objective: To describe the development, content validation, and usability of an application to orient surgical patients and ensure their safety. Abstract Due to structural similarities and the possibility of connection between the two Aptian paleolakes in the Jatobá Basin and the Tucano Norte Sub-basin in North-eastern Brazil, the influence of the architecture of the crystalline basement under these lacustrine sedimentary rocks was analysed using gravimetric data near the faulted edges of the basins where the paleolakes are located. The Negra (Jatobá Basin) and Tonã (Tucano Norte Sub-basin) Hills are mainly sedimentary deposits of Aptian age and are linked to the post-rift I tectonic sequence. Aiming at the study of reservoirs analogous to pre-salt reservoirs, the gravimetric data were processed and interpreted to define the structural framework of the basin regions around these hills. Depth maps and density models were generated that could be analysed from various 3D perspectives, and the behaviour of the crystalline basement below these sedimentary sequences was investigated. In addition to the identification of horsts and semi-grabens that influenced the current relief pattern, the modelling showed that the Aptian paleolake sedimentary rocks of the Negra Hill are in the Ibimirim Low, which is approximately 2,900 m deep, while in the Tonã Hill, the sedimentary rocks are in the Salgado do Melão Low, which is approximately 5,100 m deep. ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE To synthesize scientific evidence to characterize health care for transvestites and transsexuals in Brazil. METHODS This is a systematic review, conducted from July 2020 to January 2021 and updated in September 2021, whose protocol is registered in the International Prospective Register of Systematic Reviews (PROSPERO) platform, under code CRD42020188719. The survey of evidence was carried out in four databases and eligible articles were evaluated for methodological quality, and those with a low risk of bias were included. Abstract Poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC) resins constitute the third most important plastic materials available commercially, in terms of worldwide volume production, and can be manufactured through several polymerization mechanisms, including free radical, ionic and redox polymerization processes. Abstract Analyses and climate forecasts indicate significant changes in climate elements, particularly the global mean temperature, and variations in rainfall patterns, which can have profound effects on ecosystems and agriculture. This study aims to assess the impacts of climate change on the Brazilian territory using the Köppen-Geiger (1936) climate classification. Climate data were analyzed at 4,942 locations, encompassing municipalities in Brazil from 1989 to 2019. These data were obtained from the NASA/POWER platform and complemented with monthly temperature and rainfall projections from the BCC-CSM1-1 model, part of the CMIP5 (Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5), under four emission scenarios (RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5, RCP 6.0, and RCP 8.5) for the periods 2041-2060 and 2061-2080. The findings reveal a temperature increase across all scenarios, with RCP 8.5 indicating the most significant rise, reaching 4.30 and 5.42 °C for the periods 2041-2060 and 2061-2080, respectively. Additionally, the least rainy month of the year exhibits precipitation values exceeding 60 mm, leading to the dominance of the tropical climate typology “A” in 82.94% of the current climate assessment. In contrast, under climate change scenarios, reductions in areas with typical temperate climate “C” and expansions in arid climate “B” and tropical climate classes were observed compared to the present climate pattern. Notably, the BSh class has a prevalence of 6.09% and 8.16% for the periods 2041-2060 and 2061-2080, respectively. The observed climate changes signal potential challenges for the preservation of species in Brazil, as higher temperatures may hinder their adaptability to drier and warmer conditions. Resumo Análises e previsões climáticas indicam mudanças significativas nos elementos climáticos, principalmente na temperatura média global, e variações nos padrões de precipitação, que podem ter efeitos profundos nos ecossistemas e na agricultura. Este estudo tem como objetivo avaliar os impactos das mudanças climáticas no território brasileiro usando a classificação climática de Köppen-Geiger (1936). Foram analisados dados climáticos em 4.942 localidades, abrangendo municípios do Brasil, de 1989 a 2019. Esses dados foram obtidos da plataforma NASA/POWER e complementados com projeções mensais de temperatura e precipitação do modelo BCC-CSM1-1, parte do CMIP5 (Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 5), em quatro cenários de emissões (RCP 2.6, RCP 4.5, RCP 6.0 e RCP 8.5) para os períodos de 2041-2060 e 2061-2080. Os resultados revelam um aumento de temperatura em todos os cenários, com o RCP 8.5 indicando o aumento mais significativo, atingindo 4,30 e 5,42 °C para os períodos de 2041-2060 e 2061-2080, respectivamente. Além disso, o mês menos chuvoso do ano apresenta valores de precipitação superiores a 60 mm, levando ao predomínio da tipologia de clima tropical “A” em 82,94% da avaliação climática atual. Em contrapartida, nos cenários de mudança climática, foram observadas reduções nas áreas com clima temperado típico “C” e expansões nas classes de clima árido “B” e tropical em comparação com o padrão climático atual. Abstract Coffee is currently one of the main commodities traded in the world. Brazil is the largest producer and exporter of the grain. Fungal diseases are very common in coffee crops and control represents a large part of coffee production costs. The climate is an essential factor in the development of a disease such as phoma leaf spot. This disease is favored by high atmospheric humidity and mild temperatures. In this context, this study aimed to carry out the climatic favorability zoning for one of the main coffee diseases (Phoma ssp.) of the coffee-growing region in Brazil. The study was conducted in the main traditional coffee growing regions, i.e., the states of Paraná (PR), São Paulo (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Espírito Santo (ES), Minas Gerais (MG), Goiás (GO), and Bahia (BA), totaling 2730 municipalities. Air temperature and daily precipitation data for the current scenario were collected from the WorldClim version 2.1 platform for the latest climatological normal in GeoTIFF format. Future climate variables were obtained by the WorldClim 2.1 platform for the IPSL-CM6A-LR global climate model for the periods 2021-2040, 2041-2060, 2061-2080, and 2081-2100 and the scenarios SSP-1 2.6, SSP-2 4.5, SSP-3 7.0, and SSP-5 8.5, respectively. Thus, zoning was carried out using software of geographic information systems (QGIS), automated with the Python language. Also, graphs were prepared to better represent the results. About 54.77% of the coffee-producing region presented relatively favorable conditions for the development of Phoma leaf spot, 30.55% favorable, 3.20% highly, and 11.48% showed no climate conditions for the occurrence of the disease. The climate conditions from October to March favored the occurrence of phoma leaf spot. The Phoma spp. Leaf spot will probably reduce its occurrence in all future scenarios due to the loss of favorable climate conditions. Resumo O café é atualmente uma das principais commodities negociadas no mundo. O Brasil é o maior produtor e exportador do grão. Doenças fúngicas são muito comuns nas lavouras de café, e o controle representa uma grande parte dos custos de produção do café. O clima é um fator essencial no desenvolvimento de uma doença, como a mancha de folha de phoma. Essa doença é favorecida pela alta umidade atmosférica e temperaturas amenas. Nesse contexto, este estudo teve como objetivo realizar o zoneamento da favorabilidade climática para uma das principais doenças do café (Phoma ssp.) na região cafeeira do Brasil. O estudo foi conduzido nas principais regiões tradicionais de cultivo de café, ou seja, nos estados do Paraná (PR), São Paulo (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Espírito Santo (ES), Minas Gerais (MG), Goiás (GO) e Bahia (BA), totalizando 2730 municípios. Dados de temperatura do ar e precipitação diária para o cenário atual foram coletados da plataforma WorldClim versão 2.1 para a última normal climatológica no formato GeoTIFF. Variáveis climáticas futuras foram obtidas pela plataforma WorldClim 2.1 para o modelo climático global IPSL-CM6A-LR para os períodos 2021-2040, 2041-2060, 2061-2080 e 2081-2100, e os cenários SSP-1 2.6, SSP-2 4.5, SSP-3 7.0 e SSP-5 8.5, respectivamente. Assim, o zoneamento foi realizado usando software de sistemas de informação geográfica (QGIS), automatizado com a linguagem Python. Além disso, gráficos foram preparados para melhor representar os resultados. Cerca de 54,77% da região produtora de café apresentou condições relativamente favoráveis para o desenvolvimento da mancha de folha de Phoma, 30,55% favorável, 3,20% altamente e 11,48% não apresentou condições climáticas para a ocorrência da doença. As condições climáticas de outubro a março favoreceram a ocorrência da mancha de folha de phoma. A mancha de folha de Phoma spp. provavelmente reduzirá sua ocorrência em todos os cenários futuros devido à perda de condições climáticas favoráveis. Durante o período 2081-2100, 85,03% de toda a região seria desfavorável ao desenvolvimento de Phoma spp. para o cenário mais pessimista (SSP-5 8.5).
