RESUMO Os resíduos da mineração de vermiculita, embora de baixa solubilidade, contêm nutrientes como cálcio, magnésio e potássio em concentrações que permitem seu uso agrícola. Bactérias benéficas podem aumentar a solubilidade deste resíduo e sua eficiência. Objetivou-se avaliar a influência da bioinoculação do resíduo de vermiculita, associado ao esterco bovino, na liberação de nutrientes e no crescimento inicial do milho. Foi realizado delineamento inteiramente casualizado em casa de vegetação com sete tratamentos e quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram: T1 - solo sem adubação; T2 - solo adubado com fontes solúveis de nutrientes (fertilização convencional); T3 - aplicação de resíduo de vermiculita (VR); T4 - VR enriquecido com esterco bovino (CM); T5 -VR+CM com Bacillus subtilis; T6 - VR + CM + B. amyloliquefaciens e T7 - VR + CM + B. subtilis + B. amyloliquefaciens). O VR aumentou a disponibilidade de Ca e K no solo, porém seu desempenho foi inferior às fontes solúveis. Independentemente da utilização de esterco bovino ou de microrganismos benéficos, os resíduos da mineração de vermiculita aumentaram a disponibilidade de Ca e K no solo, mas não foram capazes de igualar as fontes solúveis de nutrientes. Os resíduos de mineração associados ao esterco bovino e aos microrganismos benéficos (B. subtilis e B. amyloliquefaciens) aumentaram a atividade microbiana e aumentaram a liberação de cálcio disponível para o milho. Abstract Introduction Advanced Glycation End-Products (AGEs) are a diverse group of highly reactive molecules that play a vital role in the development of neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson's Disease (PD), leading to a decline in functional and cognitive capacity. The objective of this study was to assess the intake and quantification of AGEs in individuals with PD and to correlate them with their functional and cognitive abilities. Methods This was a cross-sectional study involving 20 PD patients and 20 non-PD individuals as the Control group (C). The autofluorescence reader was used to evaluate skin AGEs, while food recall was used to quantify AGEs consumed for three different days. The Montreal Cognitive Assessment, Short Physical Performance Battery, and handgrip tests were used. PD patients demonstrated greater impairment in functional capacity compared to the control group. Results Dominant Handgrip (p = 0.02) and motor performance, in the sit and stand test (p = 0.01) and Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB) (p = 0.01) were inferior in PD patients than the control group. Although PD patients tended to consume less AGEs than the control group, AGE intake was negatively correlated with handgrip strength in individuals with PD (r = -0.59; p < 0.05). Conclusion PD patients had lower strength and functional capacity, suggesting that the effects of AGEs might be exacerbated during chronic diseases like Parkinson's. RESUMO O pirarucu, Arapaima gigas é um peixe de grande importância econômica e social na Amazônia, onde é comumente produzido em viveiros. A produção de peixes em tanques-rede tem crescido no Brasil, e este sistema poderia ser uma alternativa para a produção do pirarucu, reduzindo custos e melhorando os parâmetros produtivos. Nós avaliamos a contribuição do alimento natural na produção em sistema semi-intensivo (viveiros) e intensivo (tanques-rede) e seus efeitos sobre os aspectos produtivos e econômicos do pirarucu na fase de recria. Quatro viveiros (300 m2) e quatro tanques-rede (4,0 m3) foram estocados, respectivamente, com 120 (0,4 peixes m-2) e 160 (40 peixes m-3) juvenis de pirarucu (28,03 ± 6,34 g e 11,75 ± 0,80 cm). O estudo foi conduzido por 105 dias e os peixes foram alimentados com ração comercial extrusada. Crescimento e ingestão de plâncton pelos peixes foram avaliados quinzenalmente. Sobrevivência, comprimento padrão, ganho de peso e peso final foram maiores nos peixes cultivados em viveiros. ABSTRACT Pirarucu, Arapaima gigas is a fish species of great social and economic importance in the Amazon region, where they are often farmed in earthen ponds. Intensive cage aquaculture has been growing in Brazil, which could be an alternative means to farm pirarucu, reducing costs and increasing productivity. We evaluated the contribution of natural food organisms in semi-intensive (ponds) and intensive (cages) production systems, and their effect on pirarucu growth and economic performance during the first phase of grow-out. Four ponds (300 m2) and four cages (4.0 m³) were stocked, respectively, with 120 (0.4 fish m-²) and 160 (40 fish m-³) juvenile pirarucu (28.03 ± 6.34 g, 11.75 ± 0.80 cm). The study was conducted for 105 days and fish were fed with commercial feed. Fish growth and plankton intake were evaluated every two weeks. Survival rate, standard length, weight gain and final weight were higher in fish reared in earthen ponds than in cages. Feed conversion of fish kept in ponds was lower (0.96 ± 0.06) than in cages (1.20 ± 0.11). The consumption of natural food organisms was observed, despite artificial feed being fed in both systems. The relative abundance of zooplankton and insects in stomachs was directly proportional to fish weight gain in ponds, and inversely proportional in cages. Higher economic efficiency rate and lower average production cost were calculated for earthen ponds. ABSTRACT The semi-arid region of northeastern Brazil is characterized by scarcity of water for irrigation purposes due to long periods of drought, compromising the development of species such as Spondias tuberosa L. and Spondias mombin L., which, despite being considered drought tolerant, can have their yield negatively affected by low water availability. The objective of this study was to evaluate the morphophysiology, quantum efficiency and water relations of S. tuberosa and S. mombin rootstocks under different irrigation intervals in the semi-arid region of Paraíba, Brazil. Resumo Os campos rupestres da Cadeia do Espinhaço são marcados por possuírem uma extraordinária diversidade vegetal e endemismo, onde grande quantidade de grupos ainda são pouco estudados do ponto de vista taxonômico. É o caso do gênero Sauvagesia, predominantemente neotropical, o maior e mais heterogêneo de Sauvagesieae (Ochnaceae). Neste estudo, tentamos desvendar a taxonomia problemática, há muito negligenciada, das espécies de Sauvagesia no Espinhaço. Nosso tratamento taxonômico registrou 24 espécies, das quais sete provêm de táxons recentemente descritos ou novas combinações aqui apresentadas. Para cada uma das três novas combinações de status de variedade em espécie, nós também fornecemos novas lectotipificações. Abstract The campos rupestres (rupestrian grasslands) of the Brazilian Espinhaço Range are renowned for harboring extraordinary plant diversity and endemism, yet many groups representative of this habitat remain taxonomically understudied. Sauvagesia, a predominantly neotropical genus of Sauvagesieae (Ochnaceae), is a classic example. In this study, we refine the long-neglected and problematic taxonomy of the Espinhaço-Range-inhabiting species of Sauvagesia. Our taxonomic treatment includes 24 species of which seven are derived from recently described taxa or new combinations presented herein. For each of the three new combinations from variety into species status, we also provide new lectotypifications. The studied species are remarkably variable in habit, leaf, and floral architectures, and their distribution is often narrowly restricted to particular mountains across the Espinhaço Range, a pattern especially observed in the highly endemic S. subsect. Resumo Durante a pandemia de Covid-19 em 2020, professores e alunos viram-se impelidos a utilizar estratégias de ensino remoto, para não interromperem o andamento das aulas. Nesse contexto, o modelo pedagógico “Sala de Aula Invertida” (Leffa; Duarte; Alda 2016) (Andrade; Coutinho 2018) foi uma possibilidade para a implementação on-line da proposta “Literatura e escrita criativa em sala de aula invertida de alemão como língua estrangeira”. A literatura pode se apresentar como alternativa a textos não-autênticos dos livros didáticos de língua estrangeira, trazendo importantes contextos de vocabulário e estruturas corretamente empregadas (Koppensteiner 2001). A escrita criativa tem na leitura a base que constrói o repertório do escritor, e, através de técnicas, resgata sua criatividade (Rodrigues 2015). O professor de língua estrangeira poderá usar essa criatividade para trabalhar em aula a escrita, além da gramática, da leitura, da oralidade (Silva 2013). Da proposta participaram uma dupla e uma aluna individual, de nível A2 (QECR 2001); foram lidos cinco livros de autores de língua alemã, discutidos os temas abordados nas obras, contextualizados e também transpostos para os dias atuais, permitindo às alunas comentá-los no contexto cultural brasileiro. Esse processo embasou a escrita das histórias dessas alunas.

Abstract During the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, teachers and students were driven to use remote teaching strategies, so as not to interrupt the progress of classes. In this context, the pedagogical model “Flipped Classroom” (Leffa; Duarte; Alda 2016) (Andrade; Coutinho 2018) was a possibility for the online implementation of the proposal “Literature and Creative Writing in the flipped classroom of German as foreign language”. Literature can be used as an alternative to non-authentic texts from foreign language textbooks, bringing important contexts of vocabulary and correctly used structures (Koppensteiner 2001). In creative writing, reading provides the basis that builds up the writer's repertoire, and rescues his creativity through the application of techniques (Rodrigues 2015). The foreign language teacher can use this creativity to implement writing exercises in class, in addition to grammar, reading, speaking (Silva 2013). The project's participants were pair of students and one individual student, all level A2 students (CEFR 2001); five books by German-speaking authors were read, the topics covered in the works were discussed, contextualized and transposed to the present day, allowing the students to comment on them in the Brazilian cultural context. This process supported the writing of these students' stories.

RESUMO Um dos principais gargalos na produção do pirarucu, Arapaima gigas é a reprodução em cativeiro, devido à inconstância no número de desovas por ciclo reprodutivo, resultando em instabilidade na disponibilidade de juvenis. Este é o primeiro registro de predação de larvas de pirarucu por peixes oportunistas em um viveiro de reprodutores. Amostras de peixes foram coletadas para análise estomacal em um viveiro de reprodução. Coletamos 61 peixes de diferentes espécies (Tetragonopterus sp., Astyanax bimaculatus, Moenkhausia intermedia, Hoplias malabaricus e Apistogramma sp.). Os estômagos de Tetragonopterus sp. apresentaram a maior frequência de ocorrência de larvas de pirarucu (83,3%), seguida por A. bimaculatus (7,4%). Discutimos a relação dos hábitos alimentares destas espécies e sua predação sobre a prole de pirarucus.

ABSTRACT One of the constraints in pirarucu, Arapaima gigas farming is the reproduction in captivity, due to inconsistent number of spawning events per reproductive cycle, thus, unreliable availability of juvenile fish. This is a first-hand report on predation of pirarucu larvae by opportunistic fish species in a breeding pond. Fish samples were collected for stomach content analysis from a pirarucu-breeding pond with reported predation on the larvae. We obtained 61 fish of different species (Tetragonopterus sp., Astyanax bimaculatus, Moenkhausia intermedia, Hoplias malabaricus, and Apistogramma sp.). Tetragonopterus sp. stomachs had the highest frequency of occurrence of pirarucu larvae (83.3%), followed by A. bimaculatus (7.4%). The relationship between the feeding behaviour of these species and their predation upon pirarucu offspring is discussed.

Resumo Língua e cultura vistas como duas faces de uma mesma moeda já é um ponto pacífico na área da Didática (KRAMSCH 1996; KOREIK 2013). Apesar disso, ainda hoje há muitos questionamentos sobre como abordar essa temática em sala de aula (KRAMSCH 2013). Nesse contexto, o presente artigo tem como objetivo analisar o processo de construção da sensibilização intercultural por meio da tradução intercultural a partir da análise de cartas pessoais escritas por uma brasileira a seus familiares no Brasil durante sua estada na Alemanha, na qual relata suas vivências e experiências com os festejos de carnaval. A análise das cartas baseia-se nos conceitos de relato de viagem e escritor viajante (BASSNETT 2004, 2007), ambos oriundos da perspectiva descritivista da Tradução, bem como no conceito de tradutor intercultural (LIMA 2021); e a análise do processo da construção da sensibilização intercultural fundamenta-se no Fluxo de Sensibilização Intercultural (LIMA 2021). Assim, através desses relatos em cartas pessoais, torna- se possível observar a construção da sensibilização intercultural da escritora viajante no papel de tradutora intercultural e, a partir do entendimento desse processo, torna-se possível tomar consciência de alguns aspectos relevantes para o ensino de língua alemã.

Abstract Language and culture as two sides of the same coin is already a matter of agreement in the field of didactics (KRAMSCH 1996; KOREIK 2013). Nevertheless, even today there are still many questions about how to address this issue in the classroom (KRAMSCH 2013). In this context, the present paper aims to analyze the process of building intercultural awareness through intercultural translation based on the analysis of personal letters written by a Brazilian woman to her relatives in Brazil during her stay in Germany, in which she relates her experiences with the carnival festivities. The analysis of the letters is based on the concepts of travel report and travel writer (BASSNETT 2004, 2007), both coming from the Translation Descriptive Studies, as well as on the concept of intercultural translator (LIMA 2021); and the analysis of the process of building intercultural awareness is based on the Intercultural Awareness Flow (LIMA 2021). Thus, through these accounts in personal letters, it becomes possible to observe the construction of intercultural awareness of the travel writer in the role of intercultural translator and, from the understanding of this process, it becomes possible to become aware of some relevant aspects for German language teaching.

RESUMEN El matricondicionamiento permite la hidratación lenta de las semillas, y puede ayudar en la reducción del período de germinación y emergencia de las plántulas. En general, las semillas deben remojarse para comenzar el proceso de germinación. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar el efecto del matricondicionamiento bajo la curva de imbibición y el comportamiento fisiológico de dos lotes de semillas de chía de distinta calidad. El estudio se realizó con semillas de chía, producidas por campesinos locales. Para la confección de la curva de imbibición, con las semillas de ambos lotes, se inició en el proceso de imbibición sobre un tamiz de acero inoxidable colocado en cajas plásticas, que contenían 55,5 gramos de vermiculita esterilizada y humedecida con agua destilada al 100% de la capacidad de retención. Las ponderaciones a la curva de imbibición se realizaron a las 0, 2, 4, 8, 16 y 32 horas de iniciado el proceso. Simultáneamente, en cada período de evaluación, las semillas fueron sometidas a las siguientes pruebas: germinación, primer conteo de germinación, longitudes de brotes, raíces y totales de plántulas, índice de velocidad de emergencia y tiempo promedio, y emergencia acumulada. Se utilizó un diseño experimental completamente al azar. Se pudo concluir que el inicio de la fase II de germinación en semillas matricondicionadas varía en función de la calidad del lote de semillas de chía. El matricondicionamiento contribuye en el desempeño fisiológico, aumentando y acelerando la emergencia de las plántulas.

ABSTRACT Solid matrix priming (matriconditioning) permits slow seed hydration, and germination and emergence period reduction. In general, seeds need to be soaked to start their germination process. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the matriconditioning under the imbibition curve and the physiological performance of two lots of chia seeds with different qualities. The study was performed with chia seeds harvested by small-scale farmers. To estimate the imbibition curve, seeds from both lots were started in the imbibition process on a stainless-steel screen placed in plastic boxes, containing 55.5 grams of sterilized vermiculite and moisturized with distilled water at 100% of their retention capability. The imbibition curve weights were made 0, 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32 hours after the process had started. Simultaneously, in each evaluation period, seeds were submitted to the following tests: germination, first count of germination, plantlet shoot, root and total lengths, emergence velocity index and average time, and accumulated emergence. A completely randomized experimental design was used. It was possible to conclude that the beginning of phase II of germination in matriconditioned seeds varies in function of the chia seeds' lot quality. The matriconditioning contributes to the physiological performance, increasing and accelerating plantlets' emergence.

ABSTRACT. Fertilization of aquaculture ponds has been pointed out as an efficient practice to improve fish feed conversion and growth performance. In this way, the present study aimed to assess the effect of pond fertilization on the growth performance, body composition, and water quality of juvenile pirarucu Arapaima gigas reared in earthen ponds (600 m2) during the grow-out phase. Two fertilized and two non-fertilized ponds were stocked with 208 juvenile pirarucus (19.9 ± 3.6 g and 15.0 ± 0.9 cm) and reared for 100 days. All four ponds were limed before the study. Ponds were fertilized before fish were stocked and weekly until the end of the experiment, and fish offered feed until apparent satiation. Pirarucu reared in fertilized ponds presented higher final weight (20%) and biomass (19%), further to lower feed intake and feed conversion rate (1.31) than fish reared in non-fertilized ponds (1.61). Pond fertilization did not affect the fish coefficient of variation, which was reduced over the culture cycle. The body composition of fish reared in fertilized ponds presented higher water content, protein, and energy retention rates and lowered crude fat and energy. Fertilized ponds presented lower transparency levels and higher pH from the 50th day of culture, whereas ammonia concentration was higher in the fertilized ponds in the first 25 days. Therefore, pond fertilization is a recommended practice for pirarucu during the grow-out phase.

La production corporative des villes brésiliennes se déroule dans des conditions de marchandisation de l’espace urbain, associées à la ségrégation socio-spatiale, à la spéculation immobilière et à la capture de la dimension collective et publique des villes. RESUMO Objetivo: Investigar a relação da antropometria e composição corporal com o equilíbrio postural dinâmico em idosas com baixa Densidade Mineral Óssea (DMO). Métodos: 45 idosas (≥ 60 anos), baixa DMO e diagnóstico nutricional entre baixo peso e sobrepeso. Para a avaliação da composição corporal utilizou-se a densitometria por emissão de raios x de dupla energia e exame antropométrico para aferir: massa corporal (kg), estatura (cm) e índice de massa corporal (IMC) (k/m2). A avaliação do equilíbrio postural dinâmico foi realizada pelo teste clínico mini Balance Master Evaluation System, pelo teste computadorizado Balance Master ® System e pelos testes Sit-to-Stand e Step Up/Over. Resultados: Houve correlação negativa do miniBESTest (r = − 0,566; p ≤ 0,001) e tempo de subir e descer um degrau (r = − 0,393; p ≤ 0,007) com a massa gorda, e correlação positiva do miniBESTest (r = 0,526; p ≤ 0,001) e tempo de subir e descer um degrau com a massa muscular (r = 0,297; p ≤ 0,04). Quanto às variáveis antropométricas, apenas a estatura apresentou correlação positiva (r = 0,296; p ≤ 0,04) com a velocidade no teste de sentar-se e levantar-se. Conclusão: A massa magra reduz as oscilações posturais. Em contrapartida, a massa gorda interfere de forma negativa no equilíbrio postural dinâmico de mulheres com baixa DMO. ABSTRACT Objective: To investigate the relationship between anthropometry and body composition with dynamic postural balance in elderly women with low bone mineral density (BMD). Methods: 45 older women (≥ 60 years), low BMD and nutritional diagnosis of low weight to overweight. For the assessment of body composition, Dual energy X-ray emission densitometry and anthropometric examination were used to measure: body mass (kg), height (cm) and BMI (k/m2). The assessment of dynamic postural balance was performed by the mini Balance Master Evaluation System clinical test and the computerized Balance Master® System test by the Sit to Stand and Step Up/Over tests. Results: There was a negative correlation between miniBESTest (r = − 0.566; p ≤ 0.001) and time to ascend and descend step (r = − 0.393; p ≤ 0.007) with fat mass, and positive correlation with miniBESTest (r = 0.526; p ≤0.001) and time to go up and down a step with muscle mass (r = 0.297; p ≤ 0.04). As for anthropometric variables, only height showed a positive correlation (r = 0.296; p ≤ 0.04) with the speed in the sit and stand test. Conclusion: Lean mass reduces postural oscillations; in contrast, fat mass negatively interfered with dynamic postural balance in women with low BMD. Objective to understand how nurses experience the action of moral deliberation in the practice scenario. Method phenomenological research based on Alfred Schutz’s reference conducted through interviews with 12 nurses from a Mobile Urgency Care Service. From the idiographic and nomothetic analysis, the concrete categories of the lived were obtained. Results three categories emerged: meanings of the action of nurses’ moral deliberation in the mobile pre-hospital emergency care that refer to the care context; technical-scientific knowledge as the basis for the action of moral deliberation; and the social dimension of the relationships established between the teams as a source of ethical problems. Conclusion factors that affect practice were revealed, unveiling elements that favor deliberation, such as experiences of the lived, the sharing of situations and conflicts that require decision-making. Thus, a new look emerges for the practice of nurses based on an ethical, responsible and prudent action.

Objetivo entender cómo las enfermeras experimentan la acción de la deliberación moral en el escenario de práctica. Método investigación fenomenológica basada en la referencia de Alfred Schutz realizada a través de entrevistas con 12 enfermeras de un Servicio de Atención Móvil de Urgencia. A partir del análisis ideográfico y nomotético, se obtuvieron las categorías concretas de los vividos. Resultados surgieron tres categorías: significados de la acción de la deliberación moral de las enfermeras en la atención pre-hospitalaria móvil de urgencia que se refieren al contexto de la atención; conocimiento técnico-científico como base para la acción de la deliberación moral; y la dimensión social de las relaciones establecidas entre los equipos como fuente de problemas éticos. Conclusión se revelaron factores que afectan a la práctica, revelando elementos que favorecen la deliberación, como las experiencias de los vividos, el intercambio de situaciones y conflictos que requieren la toma de decisiones. Así, surge un nuevo aspecto para la práctica de las enfermeras basada en una acción ética, responsable y prudente.

Resultados emergiram três categorias: significados da ação da deliberação moral das enfermeiras no atendimento pré-hospitalar móvel de urgência que se referem ao contexto do atendimento; o conhecimento técnico-científico como fundamento para a ação da deliberação moral; e a dimensão social das relações estabelecidas entre as equipes como fonte de problemas éticos. Conclusão foram desvelados fatores que incidem na prática, revelando elementos que favorecem a deliberação, como as experiências do vivido, o compartilhamento das situações e os conflitos que demandam a tomada de decisão. Emerge, assim, um novo olhar para a prática das enfermeiras pautada em um agir ético, responsável e prudente.

RESUMO Introdução: A marcha humana é um movimento complexo dependente de controle neural multinível, que permite um padrão periódico uniforme, regular e complexo, que a caracterizam como um sistema não linear. O déficit sensitivo e motor com diminuição das respostas proprioceptivas pode diminuir a capacidade de adaptação do sistema, como já demonstrado nas doenças de Parkinson, Alzheimer e Huntington. Contudo, pouco se conhece sobre o efeito da neuropatia diabética periférica nessas respostas. Objetivos: Analisar a influência da neuropatia diabética periférica na entropia em diferentes ambientes de marcha. Métodos: Dez idosos, sem e com diagnóstico de neuropatia diabética periférica, caminharam em esteira rolante (velocidade inicial 3 km/h e incremento de 0,5 km/h a cada 5 minutos até a velocidade 5 km/h) para o registro da aceleração do centro de massa nos componentes vertical, médio-lateral, e anteroposterior ao longo de todo teste. A entropia amostral dos três vetores foi calculada para cada velocidade de teste. Resultados: O componente vertical não apresentou nenhuma diferença com significância estatística. O componente médio-lateral mostrou diferenças com significância estatística para os fatores grupo, velocidade e interação entre os fatores (grupo e velocidade). O componente anteroposterior apresentou diferenças com significância estatística para o fator grupo, mas não para o fator velocidade e interação entre os fatores (grupo e velocidade). Em todas as comparações, foram encontrados tamanhos de efeito classificados como grandes. Conclusões: A neuropatia diabética periférica produziu alterações na capacidade de adaptação sobre as variações do ambiente durante a marcha, provavelmente, em decorrência de alterações da complexidade do sistema de controle neural multinível, que depende da retroalimentação sensitiva e motora, sabidamente afetadas pela neuropatia diabética periférica. ABSTRACT Introduction: Human gait is a complex movement dependent on multilevel neural control, which allows a consistent, regular and complex periodic pattern, properties that characterize it as a nonlinear system. Sensory and motor deficits, with diminished proprioceptive responses, may reduce the adaptive capacity of the system, as demonstrated in Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and Huntington's diseases. However, little is known about the effect of peripheral diabetic neuropathy on these responses. Objectives: To analyze the influence of peripheral diabetic neuropathy on entropy in different gait environments. Methods: Ten elderly patients, with and without a diagnosis of peripheral diabetic neuropathy, walked on a treadmill (initial speed of 3 km/h, with 0.5 km/h increments every 5 minutes up to the speed of 5 km/h) to record center of mass acceleration in the vertical, mediolateral and anteroposterior components throughout the test. The sample entropy of the three vectors was calculated for each test speed. Results: The vertical component did not show any statistically significant differences. The mediolateral component showed statistically significant difference for the factors group, speed, and interaction between factors (group and speed). The anteroposterior component showed statistically significant differences for the group factor, but not for speed and interaction between factors (group and speed). Effect sizes classified as large were found in all the comparisons. Conclusions: Peripheral diabetic neuropathy produced changes in the ability to adapt to changes in the environment during gait, probably due to changes in the complexity of the multilevel neural control system, which depends on motor and sensory feedback, known to be affected by peripheral diabetic neuropathy. No obstante, poco se conoce sobre el efecto de la neuropatía diabética periférica en esas respuestas. Objetivos: Analizar la influencia de la neuropatía diabética periférica en la entropía en diferentes ambientes de marcha. Métodos: Diez ancianos, sin y con diagnóstico de neuropatía diabética periférica, caminaron en cinta rodante (velocidad inicial 3 km/h e incremento de 0,5 km/h a cada 5 minutos hasta la velocidad de 5 km/h) para el registro de la aceleración del centro de masa en los componentes vertical, medio-lateral, e anteroposterior a lo largo de todo el test. La entropía de muestreo de los tres vectores fue calculada para cada velocidad de test. Resultados: El componente vertical no presentó ninguna diferencia con significancia estadística. El componente medio-lateral mostró diferencias con significancia estadística para los factores grupo, velocidad e interacción entre los factores (grupo y velocidad). El componente anteroposterior presentó diferencias con significancia estadística para el factor grupo, pero no para el factor velocidad e interacción entre los factores (grupo y velocidad). En todas las comparaciones, se encontraron tamaños de efecto clasificados como grandes. Conclusiones: La neuropatía diabética periférica produjo alteraciones en la capacidad de adaptación sobre las variaciones del ambiente durante la marcha, probablemente como consecuencia de alteraciones de la complejidad del sistema de control neural multinivel, que depende de la retroalimentación sensitiva y motora, sabidamente afectadas por la neuropatía diabética periférica. Resumo O objetivo deste estudo é refletir os impactos da COVID 19, considerando marcadores de gênero, raça e classe. Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, com ênfase na análise de publicações selecionados, a partir de procura sistematizada em sites oficiais, bem como na plataforma PubCovid-19 que apresenta os artigos publicados sobre COVID-19, os quais estão indexados nas Pubmed e EMBASE. O trabalho foi pautado nos referidos documentos e construído com reflexões dos autores a partir das perspectivas dos marcadores sociais relacionados à gênero, raça e classe, os quais contribuem para o prognóstico da doença. A reflexão realizada com base na literatura analisada revelou que os marcadores de gênero, classe e raça se apresentam enquanto condição vulnerabilizadora à exposição da COVID-19 nos mais diversos cenários mundiais. Esse contexto descortina a necessidade histórica da implantação de estratégias de melhoria de vida dessa população não só durante a pandemia, como também após sua passagem. Para tanto, necessário se faz a adoção de políticas socioeconômicas de maior impacto na vida dessas pessoas e com maior abrangência, ampliando o acesso a melhores condições de saúde, educação, moradia e renda.

Abstract This study aims to reflect the impact of COVID 19, considering gender, race, and class markers. This is an exploratory study, with an emphasis on the analysis of selected publications, based on a systematized search on official websites, and on the PubCovid-19 platform that includes papers published on COVID-19, which are indexed in PubMed and EMBASE. This work was based on these documents and built with reflections from the authors from the perspectives of social markers related to gender, race, and class, which contribute to the prognosis of the disease. The reflection carried out from the analyzed literature revealed that the markers of gender, class, and race emerge as a vulnerable condition to the exposure of COVID-19 in the most diverse world scenarios. This context reveals the historical need to implement strategies to improve the lives of this population, not only during the pandemic but also after their passing. Therefore, it is necessary to adopt socioeconomic policies with a more significant impact on the lives of these people and with greater coverage, expanding access to better health, education, housing, and income.
