RESUMO O aporte de resíduos vegetais ao longo dos ciclos da cana-de-açúcar favorece o incremento de matéria orgânica e atividade de microrganismos no solo, especialmente nas camadas superficiais. A textura do solo também tem um efeito importante nos processos ecológicos e na qualidade do solo. Nesse sentido, o objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar atributos biológicos do solo em diferentes ciclos de cultivo de cana-de-açúcar sob colheita mecanizada, em um Latossolo da região de cerrado do Brasil Central. O estudo foi realizado em áreas comerciais de cultivo de cana-de-açúcar na safra 2018/2019, consideradas homogêneas em termos de condições edafoclimáticas, tendo como fonte de variação entre as áreas os ciclos de cultivo (C1: um ciclo de cultivo; C3: três ciclos de cultivo; C7: sete ciclos de cultivo) e uma área de vegetação de cerrado selecionada como referência. Foram determinadas variáveis microbiológicas nas camadas de 0-0,10 e 0,10-0,20 m. As variáveis relacionados à biomassa microbiana e textura foram submetidos à análise de componentes principais. Áreas com ciclos de cultivo de cana-de-açúcar mais longos apresentaram maior proporção de carbono da biomassa microbiana no carbono orgânico total nas camadas subterrâneas (quociente microbiano). ABSTRACT The contribution of plant residues throughout the sugarcane cycles favors the increase of organic matter and the activity of microorganisms in the soil, especially in the surface layers. Soil texture also has an important effect on ecological processes and soil quality. In this context, the objective of this study was to evaluate soil biological attributes in different sugarcane cultivation cycles under mechanized harvesting in an Oxisol in the Savanna region of Central Brazil. The study was conducted in commercial areas under sugarcane cultivation during the 2018/2019 season, which were considered homogeneous in terms of soil and climatic conditions, with the source of variation among the areas being the cultivation cycles (C1: one cultivation cycle; C3: three cultivation cycles; C7: seven cultivation cycles) and a savanna vegetation area selected as a reference. Microbiological variables were determined in two layers, 0-0.1 and 0.1-0.2 m. The variables related to microbial biomass and texture were subjected to principal component analysis. Areas with longer sugarcane cultivation cycles show higher proportion of microbial biomass carbon in the total organic carbon in subsurface layers (microbial quotient). RESUMO Para o desenvolvimento adequado da planta e obtenção de produtividade satisfatória é essencial a reposição de água e nutrientes na quantidade ideal e no momento oportuno. Ante o exposto objetivou-se, neste trabalho, avaliar os efeitos de níveis de potencial de água no solo e doses de lithothamnium sobre o crescimento e a produção de frutos de pimentão cultivado em sistema de produção orgânico. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos ao acaso em arranjo fatorial 5 x 4 com quatro repetições. Os tratamentos corresponderam à aplicação de cinco doses de lithothamnium (0; 0,5; 1; 2 e 4 g dm-3) e quatro potenciais de água no solo (-6, -24, -42 e -60 kPa). A aplicação de doses crescentes de lithothamnium e irrigações manejadas com base em valores crescentes de potenciais de água produziram aumento linear nas características de crescimento e produção do pimentão. A máxima eficiência econômica do fertilizante lithothamnium foi obtida com a aplicação da dose de 0,54 g dm-3 correspondendo à produção de frutos de 491,26 g planta-1. Irrigações mais frequentes favorecem o aumento do crescimento e da produtividade do pimentão cultivado sob sistema orgânico.

ABSTRACT For proper plant growth and achievement of satisfactory yield, it is essential to replenish water and nutrients, in the right amount and time. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of soil water potential and lithothamnium doses on the growth and yield of bell pepper fruits in an organic production system. The experimental design was randomized blocks in a 5 x 4 factorial scheme, with four replicates. The treatments were five lithothamnium doses (0, 0.5, 1, 2 and 4 g dm-3) and four soil water potentials (-6, -24, -42 and -60 kPa). Increasing lithothamnium doses and irrigations based on increasing soil water potentials produced linear increase in plant growth and fruit production. The maximum economic efficiency of the lithothamnium fertilizer was obtained with the application of 0.54 g dm-3, corresponding to the fruit yield of 491.26 g plant-1. More frequent irrigations favor the increase in growth and yield of bell pepper in organic system.

RESUMO A cultura do crambe é uma opção nos sistemas de rotação de culturas com potencial de matéria-prima para a produção de biodiesel; este estudo objetivou avaliar o efeito da elevação da saturação por bases do solo e a adição de doses de fósforo na produção de massa seca, produtividade de grãos e no teor de óleo do crambe em condições de Cerrado Goiano. O experimento foi desenvolvido em um Latossolo Vermelho Distroférrico, delineado em esquema fatorial (4 x 3) com 4 repetições (48 parcelas) em blocos inteiramente casualizados. Foram avaliados 4 níveis de saturação por bases: 34 - natural do solo, 40, 50 e 60% e três doses de fósforo: 0, 40 e 80 kg ha-1 de P2O5. As parcelas experimentais formavam um retângulo de 9 m2 com 5 linhas de plantio espaçadas 0,45 m. Foi utilizada a cultivar "FMS Brilhante"; as variáveis avaliadas foram: massa seca de raiz e parte aérea, no tempo (35, 45 e 55 dias após a emergência), produtividade de grãos e teor de óleo. A saturação por bases favoreceu o desenvolvimento da raiz e da parte aérea, a produtividade e o teor de óleo do crambe, com melhores resultados para saturação por bases entre 47-48%. A adição das doses de fósforo também favoreceu o aumento das variáveis analisadas.

ABSTRACT Crambe has been studied as an option in crop rotation systems in order to provide raw material for biodiesel production. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of raising soil base saturation and addition of phosphorus (P) on the vegetative development, grain yield and oil content of crambe. The experiment was carried out in a Oxisol, arranged in factorial scheme (4 x 3), with 4 replicates (48 plots), in completely randomized blocks. Four base saturation levels (34 - natural of the soil, 40, 50 and 60%) and three P doses (0, 40 and 80 kg ha-1 of P2O5) were evaluated. The experimental plots formed a 9 m2 rectangle with 5 plant rows, spaced by 0.45 m, using the cultivar "Brilliant FMS". The evaluated variables were: dry matter of roots and shoots at three different times (35, 45 and 55 days after emergence), grain yield and oil content. Base saturation favored crambe root and shoot development, yield and oil content, with the best results for base saturation of 47-48%. The addition of P doses also favored the increase of the analyzed variables.

RESUMO O uso de produtos que proporcionam redução das perdas de nitrogênio (N) da ureia fertilizante pode contribuir para aumentar a eficiência de uso desse nutriente em pastagens. Este trabalho objetivou avaliar o efeito de fontes e doses de nitrogênio no crescimento da Urochloa ruziziensis. O experimento foi conduzido na safra 2006/2007 em Santo Antônio de Goiás, GO, em Latossolo Vermelho ácrico. Utilizaram-se o delineamento experimental de blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições em arranjo fatorial entre fontes (ureia comum e ureia com inibidor de urease) e cinco doses de N (0, 50, 100, 200 e 300 kg ha-1) aplicadas em parcelas iguais em cinco períodos (14/11 a 13/12, 14/12 a 12/01, 13/01 a 11/02 - época chuvosa, 24/03 a 22/04 e 10/07 a 08/08 - estação seca). As variáveis avaliadas foram: massa de matéria seca da parte aérea, densidade de perfilhos, teor de N total na folha e teor relativo de clorofila. As fontes de N não afetaram as variáveis avaliadas mas a adubação nitrogenada proporcionou incrementos lineares em todas as variáveis e com maiores valores no período chuvoso. O teor relativo de clorofila nas plantas de U. ruziziensis apresentou correlação positiva com a produtividade de matéria seca da forrageira.

ABSTRACT The use of products that promote reduction of nitrogen (N) losses from the urea fertilizer can contribute to increasing its use efficiency in forage grasses. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of N sources and doses on the growth of Urochloa ruziziensis. The experiment was carried out in the growing season of 2007/2008 in Santo Antônio de Goiás-GO, in a Brazilian Oxisol. A completely randomized block was used, with four replicates in a factorial scheme, corresponding to two N sources (conventional urea and urea with urease inhibitor) and five N doses (0, 50, 100, 200 and 300 kg ha-1), divided into equal applications in five periods (Nov 14 to Dec 13, Dec 14 to Jan 12, Jan 13 to Feb 11 - rainy season, Mar 24 to Apr 22 and Jul 10 to Aug 08 - dry season). The effects of the treatments were evaluated for: shoot dry matter, tiller density, total N content in the leaves and relative chlorophyll content. N fertilizer sources did not affect the evaluated variables; however, N fertilization allowed linear increases in all variables with higher values during the rainy period. The relative chlorophyll content in U. ruziziensis had positive correlation with its dry matter productivity.

RESUMOObjetivou-se, com este trabalho, avaliar o desempenho de plantas de cobertura em um Latosso Vermelho de cerrado sob níveis de compactação. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos casualizados em esquema fatorial 4 x 5, compostos de quatro plantas de cobertura (Urochloa brizantha; Pennisetum glaucum cv. ANM 17; Crotalaria ochroleuca e Eleusine coracana cv. ANPG 207) e cinco níveis de densidade do solo (1,1; 1,3; 1,5; 1,7 e 1,9 Mg m-3), com quatro repetições. Para U. brizantha; P. glaucum; C. Ochroleuca os maiores valores de altura, diâmetro do caule, número de folhas e área foliar foram verificados nas densidades de 1,3 a 1,5 Mg m-3. Os maiores valores de fitomassa seca da parte aérea e fitomassa seca da raiz foram verificados para E. coracana e U. Brizantha nas densidades de até 1,62 e 1,54 Mg m-3 respectivamente. Considerando o volume relativo de 90%, E. coracana e U. Brizanthase desenvolvem normalmente com densidade de até 1,65 Mg m-3. A distribuição percentual de raiz de E. coracanaabaixo da camada compactada aumenta com o incremento nos níveis de densidade. E. coracana e U. brizantha se destacam como plantas com potencial de reduzir a compactação do solo.

ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of cover crops in an Oxisol in ‘Cerrado’ under compaction levels. The experimental design was in a randomized blocks in 4 x 5 factorial, composed by four cover crops (Urochloa brizantha; Pennisetum glaucum cv. ANM 17; Crotalaria ochroleuca and Eleusine coracana cv. ANPG 207) and five levels of soil density (1.1; 1.3; 1.5; 1.7 and 1.9 Mg m-3). For U. brizantha; P. glaucum; C. Ochroleuca higher values of height, stem diameter, leaf number and leaf area were observed at densities from 1.3 to 1.5 Mg m-3. The highest values of dry biomass of shoots, dry biomass of root and volume of root were observed for E. coracana and U. Brizantha in densities up to 1.62, 1.54 and 1,52 Mg m-3, respectively. Considering the relative volume of 90%, E. coracana and U. Brizantha develop normally until a density of 1.65 Mg m-3. The percentage distribution of the roots of E. coracana below the compacted layer increases with increasing density. E. coracana and U. brizantha stand out as plants with potential to reduce soil bulk density.

Este trabalho objetivou determinar a influência das plantas de cobertura crotalária (Crotalaria juncea), guandu (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp), mucuna-preta (Mucuna aterrima), sorgo vassoura (Sorgum technicum) e pousio, nos atributos químicos de solo cultivado com feijão e milho orgânicos, sob semeadura direta (SD) e preparo convencional (PC). O trabalho foi conduzido em Santo Antônio de Goiás, GO, em Latossolo Vermelho distrófico, no delineamento de blocos ao acaso, com quatro repetições. Em novembro de 2003 foram instalados quatro experimentos, dois em SD e dois em PC. Em cada preparo do solo um experimento foi conduzido com feijão e outro com milho. Amostragens de solo foram realizadas em setembro de 2003 e em novembro de 2007, nas camadas de 0-0,10 e 0,10-0,20 m. O pH e os teores de P, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Fe3+, Mn2+, H+ + Al³+ e M.O. foram analisadas e calculadas a capacidade de troca catiônica e a saturação por bases. Após quatro anos as plantas de cobertura não diferiram entre si quanto aos seus efeitos nos atributos químicos do solo; no entanto, elevaram o teor de M.O. em relação à condição inicial, seja sob SD ou sob PC. Em geral, a reciclagem dos nutrientes pelas plantas de cobertura não foi suficiente para a manutenção dos teores de P, K+, Fe3+ e Mn2+ no solo.

This study aimed to determine the influence of the cover crops sunhemp (Crotalariajuncea), pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan (L.) Millsp), velvet bean (Mucuna aterrima), sorghum (Sorgum technicum), and fallow on chemical attributes of soil cultivated with organic common bean and corn, under no-tillage (NT) and conventional tillage (CT) systems. The work was conducted in Santo Antônio de Goiás-GO, in Oxisol, in a randomized block design, with four replications. In November 2003 four experiments were installed, two of them under NT and the other two in CT. In each soil management system, an experiment was carried out with common bean crop and another with corn. Samples were taken from soil layers of 0-0.10 and 0.10-0.20 m in September 2003 and in November 2007. The soil pH and the contents of P, K+, Ca2+, Mg2+, Cu2+, Zn2+, Fe3+, Mn2+, H+ + Al3+, and soil organic matter were analyzed, and cation exchange capacity and base saturation were calculated. After four years, cover crops did not differ in their effects on soil chemical attributes, however, they increased the content of organic matter in relation to initial condition, under NT or in CT. In general, the nutrient recycling by cover crops was not sufficient to maintain the P, K+, Fe3+ and Mn2+ contents in the soil.

As veredas são ecossistemas úmidos, geralmente associados a solos hidromórficos e ao afloramento do lençol freático, ocorrendo com frequência nas proximidades das nascentes e cursos d'água da região do Cerrado. Este trabalho objetivou estudar os solos de veredas situadas no bioma Cerrado, em ambientes conservados e antropizados (em áreas agrícolas e de pecuária), por meio da determinação da textura e da matéria orgânica do solo. Três veredas foram selecionadas para amostragem de solo, sendo: uma conservada, circundada por vegetação natural; uma área antropizada, com pastagem em seu entorno e uma outra, também antropizada, com culturas anuais (agricultura) em seu entorno. As amostras de solo foram coletadas em diferentes profundidades, ao longo de linhas de referência dispostas segundo sua posição no relevo, nos terços superior, médio e inferior de uma das vertentes, acompanhando de modo aproximado o sentido da linha de drenagem da vereda. Verificou-se que os teores de argila na região inferior do relevo são maiores em ambientes antropizados e os teores de silte são maiores na vereda adjacente à área agrícola. No terço inferior das vertentes os teores de matéria orgânica são menores em veredas adjacentes às áreas com pastagens e agricultura.

Veredas (a type of wetland) are humid ecosystems, generally associated to hydromorphic soils and shallow water table, which occur frequently in the neighborhood of the springs and watercourses in the Cerrado region. The objective of this work was to study wetland soils located in undisturbed (native forest) and disturbed (agriculture and pasture) environments by means of determination of the soil texture and organic matter contents. Three wetlands were selected for this study: undisturbed wetland, surrounded by natural vegetation; disturbed wetland, surrounded by pasture areas; and disturbed wetland, surrounded by cultivated areas. Soil samples were collected at three different depths, following reference leveled lines defined, according to their positions in the relief, i.e., upper, middle and lower slope positions. The reference lines were approximately parallel to the direction of the wetland fluvial channel. It was verified that the clay contents in the lower portion of the slope were higher for the disturbed environments and the contents of silt were higher for the disturbed wetland surrounded by agricultural areas. The organic matter contents in the lower portion of the slope were lower for the disturbed wetlands.

A adoção do plantio direto, com a inclusão de espécies gramíneas de relação C/N alta, poderá minimizar a degradação estrutural do solo. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influência da inclusão da braquiária na rotação de culturas nas propriedades físico-hídricas e no conteúdo de matéria orgânica de um Latossolo Vermelho distrófico em plantio direto. O delineamento experimental foi o de blocos ao acaso, em parcelas subdivididas, com quatro repetições. As parcelas foram compostas por quatro sistemas de rotação, e as subparcelas, por quatro profundidades de amostragem (0-10; 10-20; 20-40, e 40-60 cm). As culturas utilizadas foram: arroz (A); feijão irrigado (F); milho (M); soja (S), e arroz (A+B), milho (M+B) e soja (S+B) consorciados com braquiária. Os sistemas de rotação foram: S1 - A/F/M/F/S/F; S2 - A+B/F/M+B/F/S+B/F; S3 - M/F/S/F/S/F, e S4 - M+B/F/S+B/F/S+B/F. Uma área de mata nativa, situada a 500 m do experimento, foi considerada como controle. A inclusão da braquiária na rotação de culturas não afetou a densidade, a macroporosidade e a capacidade de água disponível do solo. A porosidade total e o teor de matéria orgânica do solo foram favorecidos pelas rotações que incluíam maior número de cultivos de soja. A associação de soja com a braquiária contribuiu para a estabilidade dos agregados, e a de gramíneas de verão com a braquiária, para a diminuição da resistência do solo à penetração.

The adoption of no-tillage system, with the inclusion of grass species of high C/N relationship, can minimize the structural degradation of the soil. The objective of this research was to evaluate the influence of including Brachiaria in crop rotation systems on the physical-hydric properties and the organic matter content in a Dystrophic Oxisol under no-tillage. The experiment was conducted in a randomized block design, in split plots, with four replications. The plots were composed by four systems of crop rotation and the subplots by four sampling depths (0-10; 10-20; 20-40, and 40-60 cm). The crops were: rice (R); irrigated dry bean (DB); corn (C); soybean (S); rice (R+B), corn (C+B), and soybean (S+B) intercropped with Brachiaria. The crop rotation systems were: S1 - R/DB/C/DB/S/DB; S2 - R+B/DB/C+B/DB/S+B/DB; S3 - C/DB/S/DB/S/DB; and S4 - C+B/DB/S+B/DB/S+B/DB. It was considered a native forest, located at 500 m from the experiment, as reference. The inclusion of Brachiaria in crop rotation systems did not affect soil bulk density, macroporosity, and available soil water capacity. Total soil porosity and organic matter content of the soil were favored in the crop rotations that included more number of soybean cultivations. The association of soybean with Brachiaria contributed to the stability of the aggregates and the summer grasses with Brachiaria to reduce the soil resistance to penetration.
