Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi mensurar e analisar o empoderamento das mulheres, em sua maioria agricultoras, associadas à Lar Cooperativa Agroindustrial ou participantes enquanto cônjuges dos cooperados. Para a obtenção dos resultados, foram coletados dados primários por meio de questionários aplicados a 150 casais de agricultores e agricultoras, totalizando 300 entrevistados. A partir desses dados, foi feita a aplicação de uma adaptação do Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI). O resultado da pontuação, por meio do índice WEAI adaptado, indicou que ocorre forte empoderamento feminino, pois atendem requisitos em mais de 80% dos indicadores ponderados. O teste de sensibilidade, considerando outros pontos de corte, confirmou esse resultado. Ademais, verificou-se que, mesmo que as mulheres apresentem um nível elevado de empoderamento, a disparidade entre os gêneros, em favor dos homens, ainda persiste. Ou seja, evidencia-se que, embora o status das mulheres vinculadas à agricultura na região Oeste do Paraná seja elevado, a lacuna entre os gêneros, em favor dos homens, prevalece. Por fim, constatou-se que os entrevistados possuem uma percepção positiva sobre o empreendedorismo e reconhecem a importância de atividades que estimulem uma maior atuação feminina na agricultura, sobretudo aquelas promovidas pela Cooperativa.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to measure and analyze the empowerment of women, mostly farmers, who were members of Lar Cooperativa Agroindustrial themselves or affiliated with the cooperative through their husbands’ memberships. Results were based on, primary data collected through questionnaires applied to 150 husband-and-wife farm couples, totaling 300 respondents. Based on these data, an adaptation of the Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (WEAI) was constructed. The result of the adapted WEAI empowerment score for women indicated that they were empowered, as they met the standards for more than 80% of the indicators considered. The sensitivity test regarding other cutoff points confirmed this result. However, although women presented a high level of empowerment, the disparity between genders in favor of men still persisted. In other words, it is evident that, despite the high status of women in agriculture in the western region of Paraná, the gap between genders in favor of men prevails. Finally, it was found that respondents have a positive perception towards entrepreneurship and recognize the importance of activities that encourage greater female participation in agriculture, especially for those activities promoted by the Cooperative.

Resumo O objetivo deste estudo é investigar a relação de satisfação profissional dos jovens e a adequação educacional, mensurada a partir da compatibilização da escala ISCO e ISCED. Para tanto, foram utilizados dados da Pesquisa de Transição da Escola para o Trabalho (SWTS) da Organização Internacional do Trabalho (OIT), uma base de dados específica para o público jovem de 15 a 29 anos, no Brasil. Utilizou-se um modelo próbite ordenado, sendo a variável dependente o grau de satisfação profissional dos jovens. Foi verificada uma relação negativa e significativa da qualificação excessiva sobre a satisfação no trabalho. Além disso, ter um trabalho formal e maior salário/hora está positivamente relacionado com a satisfação no trabalho.

Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship of professional satisfaction of youths and educational adequacy, measured from the compatibilization of the ISCO and ISCED scale. Data from the School to Work Transition Survey (SWTS) of the International Labor Organization (ILO), a specific database for young people aged 15 to 29 years, in Brazil, were used. An ordered probit model was used, and the dependent variable was the degree of professional satisfaction of young people. There was a negative and significant relationship between excessive qualification and job satisfaction. In addition, having a formal job, and higher salary/hour, are positively related to job satisfaction.

Resumo: Sabendo-se que a felicidade é sentida de forma subjetiva e a sua mensuração envolve a avaliação que cada pessoa faz de sua vida, este trabalho objetivou identificar e analisar quais são os determinantes socioeconômicos que influenciam na felicidade dos associados da Lar Cooperativa Agroindustrial. Para tanto, elaboraram-se questões que buscaram captar a percepção individual de felicidade de uma amostra de 150 casais (300 indivíduos) associados à Lar Cooperativa Agroindustrial, distribuídos em 5 municípios da região oeste paranaense em que a Cooperativa atua. Essa análise foi feita em duas etapas. Na primeira etapa, qualitativa, identificaram-se palavras que, na percepção do indivíduo, descrevem a felicidade. Na segunda etapa, quantitativa, fez-se uso de variáveis que descrevessem os processos citados pelos indivíduos mensurados com o uso de um modelo lógite. Observou-se que a idade, sexo, número de horas trabalhadas e a presença de sucessores na atividade agropecuária afetam a probabilidade dos indivíduos se autodeclararem felizes.

Abstract: Happiness is felt in a subjective way and its measurement involves the evaluation that each person makes of his life. In this sense, this study investigates the economic and social determinants that explain the happiness of the members of Lar Cooperativa Agroindustrial. In order to obtain the results, a questionnaire was elaborated that sought to capture the individual perception of happiness in a sample of 150 couples (300 individuals) distributed in 5 municipalities in the western region of Paraná, where the Cooperative operates. Based on these data, this analysis was carried out in two stages. In the first step, qualitative, words were identified that in the individual's perception describe happiness. In the second stage, quantitative, variables that describe the processes cited by the individuals were used in a logit model. The results showed that age, sex, number of hours worked and the presence of successors in farming activities affect the likelihood of individuals declaring themselves happy.

Resumo: O objetivo do estudo é avaliar o impacto da restrição ao crédito rural sobre a produtividade da terra e a produtividade do trabalho para os agricultores familiares do Brasil. Para estimar esse impacto, foram utilizados dados do Censo Agropecuário de 2006 por município. Para diferenciar os agricultores familiares, foram utilizados quartis do índice de mercantilização. O impacto da restrição ao crédito sobre a produtividade da terra e a produtividade do trabalho foi calculado a partir da comparação entre o grupo que recebeu crédito e o que não recebeu crédito, obtido através do escore de propensão (propensity score matching). As estimativas do efeito médio de tratamento sobre os tratados, quando apresentaram resultados estatisticamente significativos, mostraram que o crédito aumenta a produtividade do trabalho e da terra e que os valores diferem entre os diferentes níveis de mercantilização dos agricultores familiares e, portanto, requerem políticas distintas.

Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of rural credit on land and labor productivity for Brazilian family farmers and assess factors influencing the rural credit approval process. The study employs data contained in the 2006 Brazilian Municipality1 Agricultural Census and a “trade index” (TI) specifically constructed to differentiate family farmers. The impact of credit on land and labor productivity was calculated by comparing the productivity of a group of family farmers that received credit with the productivity of a group of family farmers that were credit restricted. The groups were constructed with the aid of propensity score matching. When statistically significant, the average effect of credit was found to increase the recipient’s productivity of land and labor. It was also found that productivity increases due to the use of credit aligned with the level of the family farmer’s integration into the commercial market and, therefore, one credit policy does not fit for all Brazilian family farmers.
