Neste trabalho, objetivou-se identificar, quantificar e analisar as mudanças ocorridas no campus da Universidade Federal de Lavras, município de Lavras, MG. Imagens do ano de 2009 do satélite QUICKBIRD e fotografias aéreas verticais dos anos de 1985, 1979, 1971 e 1964 foram usadas para produzir uma série de cartas de uso e cobertura da terra. O trabalho teve início com a ortorretificação da imagem de satélite QUICKBIRD e das fotografias aéreas. A identificação e a definição das classes de uso e cobertura da terra foram obtidas a partir de levantamentos de campo em 2009. A partir dessas informações, foram então construídos os mapas de uso e cobertura da terra. Por fim, foram feitas a quantificação e a análise das mudanças ocorridas no período estudado. Os resultados mostraram que: em 1964 a "área urbanizada" do campus que somava 6,24 ha, aumentou para 65,79 ha em 2009 e que o aumento mais expressivo dessa classe ocorreu entre os anos de 1964 (6,24 ha) e 1971 (24,4 ha). O menor valor de área de "vegetação natural" encontrado no campus foi de 38,38 ha em 1971, sendo que, a partir de 1979, essa situação foi alterada e em 2009 o campus apresentou 113,18 ha dessa categoria. Em relação à classe "água", observou-se que antes de 1971 não existia nenhuma represa no campus. A maior parte do campus, antes utilizada para "atividades agrícolas", teve uma redução significativa dessa categoria, de 384,19 ha em1964, para 271,16 ha em 2009.

This study identified, quantified and analyzed changes in land use and cover on the campus of Federal University of Lavras campus, located in Lavras city (Minas Gerais State). The 2009 QuickBird satellite imagery and 1985, 1979, 1971, 1964 vertical aerial photographs were used to produce a set of land use and land cover maps. The work started with the orthorectification of the QuickBird satellite imagery and vertical aerial photographs. The identification and definition of land cover and land use classes were obtained from field surveys in 2009. First, the land cover and land use maps were made from that information. Finally, the quantification and analysis of changes were performed at the imagery time range. The results showed that in 2009 the "urbanized area class" of the campus reached 65.79 ha and that the most significant increase of this class occurred between the years 1964 (6.24 ha) and 1971 (24.4 ha). The smallest area of "forest land class" found on the campus was 38.38 ha in 1971, and from 1979 on this situation has been improved reaching 113.18 ha of "forest land class" in 2009. For the "water class" there was not any dam constructed yet in the campus before 1971. Most of the campus area, previously used for "agricultural land class" had a significant reduction within this category, from 384.19 ha in 1964 to 271.16 ha in 2009.

Objetivou-se no presente trabalho, comparar as temperaturas do ar médias diárias obtidas por duas estações meteorológicas, a ECP (Estação Climatológica Principal) e a PCD (Plataforma de Coleta de Dados), ambas localizadas no campus da UFLA (Universidade Federal de Lavras) em Lavras, MG, e verificar a eficácia do cálculo de médias das temperaturas por meio da equação utilizada pela FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) e pela média aritmética dos valores obtidos pela PCD em relação à equação utilizada pelo INMET (Instituto Nacional de Meteorologia), tomando essa como referência. Foram analisados dados de 2 anos consecutivos, representados pelos períodos de 30/06 a 31/12/2004, com um total de 137 dias de observações e de 01/01 a 04/12/2005, com um total de 186 dias de observações. A comparação entre as duas estações, mostrou uma boa concordância entre as temperaturas observadas (r² > 0,90). Com relação à utilização das equações, a que calcula a temperatura do ar utilizando a média aritmética apresentou melhor resultado (r² > 0,94). A equação utilizada pela FAO, demonstrou uma pequena tendência em superestimar os valores de temperatura.

The aim of this work was to compare the daily averages of the air temperatures obtained by two meteorological stations, ECP (Principal Climatological Station) and PCD (Data Collect Platform), both located at the experimental campus of UFLA (Federal University of Lavras) in Lavras, Minas Gerais State, Brazil, and verify the effectiveness of temperature averages calculated through the equation proposed by FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) and for the arithmetic average of the values supplied by PCD in relation to the equation used by INMET (National Institute of Meteorology, Brazil), being this a reference. One analyzed data of consecutives two years, represented by the periods from 06/30 to 2004/12/31, with a total of 137 days of observation and 01/01 to 2005/12/04, with a total of 186 days of observation. The comparison between the two stations, showed a good agreement among the observed temperatures (r² > 0,90). With relation to the use of the equations, the one that calculates the temperature of the air using the arithmetic average, it presented better result (r² > 0,94). The equation used by FAO, demonstrated a small tendency in overestimating the temperature values.

Objetivou-se com este trabalho avaliar a tendência de dados climáticos nos últimos 14 anos, na região de Lavras, MG, comparando-os com aqueles da série histórica do período de 1961 a 1990. Foi utilizado o método do balanço hídrico de Thornthwaite & Mather (1955)para os dados do período de 1961-1990 e para os dados recentemente observados de 1991-2004. O método do balanço hídrico de Thornthwaite considera a evapotranspiração potencial, a precipitação pluvial, o armazenamento de água no solo e seu subsequente uso. Este método também apresenta os períodos de excesso e deficiência hídrica, então utilizados no método de classificação climática de Thornthwaite para determinar os índices de umidade e de aridez. Os índices resultaram na fórmula climática de Thornthwaite que nesta comparação, mudou de B3 r B'3 a' para B2 r B'3 a' no período mais recente. A classificação climática de Köppen, também utilizada neste trabalho não apresentou diferenças para ambos os períodos, permanecendo Cwa.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the climatic data tendency in the last 14 years of monthly rainfall and temperatures in Lavras region, MG state , compared to those of the historical series of 1961-1990 period. The Thornthwaite's water balance method was employed for the climatological data of 1961-1990 and for the last observed data of 1991-2004. The Thornthwaite's & Mather´s water balance method considers the potential evapotranspiration, the rainfall, the storage of water in the ground and its subsequent use. This method also shows hidric excess and deficiency periods, then used on the Thornthwaite's climatic classification method to determine the moisture and aridity index of the climate. The index resulted on the Thornthwaite's climatic formula wich changed from B3 r B'3 a' to B2 r B'3 a' in the most recent reiod. The Köppen climatic classification method, also employed in this work, showed no changes, remaining Cwa for both periods.

Neste trabalho, as imagens dos satélites Landsat 7 e Cbers 2 foram analisadas com o objetivo de identificar áreas com fragmentos de floresta semidecídua e de avaliar a exatidão da classificação feita por diferentes intérpretes e técnicas de interpretação. O estudo foi realizado em Lavras, MG, utilizando o SIG-SPRING, que possui recursos para realização da classificação digital e visual. Na comparação das diferentes classificações e avaliação da exatidão, foram empregadas as exatidões global, do consumidor, do produtor e o coeficiente Kappa. Pelos resultados, verificou-se que a exatidão global foi maior que 90% e o coeficiente Kappa variou de 50% a 77% nas comparações feitas por diferentes intérpretes, em imagens Landsat e Cbers. Os mapas de fragmentos de vegetação produzidos com base na classificação digital das imagens Cbers e Landsat apresentaram alta porcentagem de áreas comuns e os intérpretes produziram diferentes mapas, porém, aqueles gerados pela imagem Cbers apresentaram a melhor concordância entre as classificações.

In this work two images from Landsat 7 and Cbers 2 were analyzed in order to identify small areas of semideciduous forest and to evaluate the classification accuracy made by three different analysts. The study was carried out in Lavras region, MG, using the SPRING GIS with the appropriate functions to jufil the digital classification and visual inspection. The comparisons between the classifications and accuracy assessment procedures employed the overall accuracy, the user's accuracy, the producer's accuracy and the Kappa coefficient. The results showed that the overall accuracy were higher than 90% and the Kappa coefficient ranged from 50% to 77% when the Landsat and Cbers images were compared by different analysts. The fragments vegetation maps made from digital classification of Cbers and Landsat satellites images presented high percentage of common areas and analysts made different maps but, those one produced from Cbers satellite images were better than the other classifications.

Realizou-se este trabalho com o objetivo de determinar as constantes "a" e "b" do modelo linear de Angstrom para estimativa da radiação solar global em Lavras, MG. O trabalho foi desenvolvido na Estação Climatológica Principal de Lavras (ECP-INMET/UFLA), localizada no campus da Universidade Federal de Lavras, no período de dezembro de 2001 a novembro de 2002, a partir de dados diários de insolação e de dados de radiação solar global. Por análise de regressão, obtiveram-se as constantes a e b, parâmetros de regressão do modelo que caracterizam a transmitância atmosférica. A equação obtida com os valores médios analisados, Qg/Qt = 0,23 + 0,49 n/N apresentou coeficiente de determinação médio de 0,89. Os resultados foram menores que os sugeridos pela literatura, obtidos em função da latitude do local onde não são disponíveis os coeficientes. De acordo com os resultados encontrados, pode-se indicar os valores de 0,23 e 0,49, respectivamente, como " a" e "b", para serem utilizados na equação de Angstrom nas estimativas de radiação solar global para Lavras, MG.

The objective of this work was the determination of the "a" and " b" constants of the Angstrom linear model in order to estimate the global solar radiation in Lavras, MG. The work was carried out in the Climatological Station of Lavras (ECP/INMET/UFLA), at the Federal University of Lavras, from December 2001 to November 2002, through insolation daily data and global solar radiation daily records. The "a" and " b" constants, that express the atmospheric transmitance, were obtained by regression analysis of those data. The obtained equation, Qg/Qt = 0,23 + 0,49 presented a determination coefficient of 0,89. The results are smaller than those suggested by the recomendations that uses the local latitude. According to the results, its possible to indicate the values of 0,23 and 0,49 to be used as the "a" and " b" constants on the Angstrom equation to estimate the global solar radiation in Lavras, MG.
