RESUMO Objetivo Determinar evidências de validade de critério concorrente e preditiva do Instrumento de Rastreio da Comunicação de crianças de 0 a 36 meses (IRC-36). Método Participaram da pesquisa 78 pais/responsáveis de crianças que frequentam o serviço de puericultura das Unidades de Saúde da Família, além de 33 crianças com idades entre 0 e 36 meses, convidadas para segunda etapa do estudo. Na primeira etapa do estudo, 13 profissionais de saúde foram treinados para realizar a aplicação do IRC-36 nos pais/responsáveis das crianças. No segundo momento, os pais responderam a uma nova aplicação do IRC-36 e as crianças foram avaliadas com o Denver II. Resultados O IRC-36 apresentou correlação com o Denver II em mais da metade dos casos, confirmando a validade de critério concorrente do instrumento. Os resultados do IRC-36 da primeira etapa quando correlacionados com o Denver II, não apresentaram valores significativos. O valor de ponto de corte do instrumento foi 12, sendo este o valor de referência entre crianças em risco e sem risco para alteração da comunicação. O instrumento apresentou valor de acurácia dentro dos níveis preconizados e alta sensibilidade. A ocorrência de risco para alteração da comunicação apresentou-se maior na segunda aplicação do IRC-36. ABSTRACT Purpose To determine evidence of concurrent and predictive criterion validity of the Communication Screening Instrument for children aged 0 to 36 months (IRC-36). Methods 78 parents/guardians of children who attend the childcare service of the Family Health Centers participated in the research, in addition to 33 children aged between 0 and 36 months, invited to the second stage of the study. ABSTRACT In this study, the aim was to analyze the school inclusion of cochlear implant users. The research had a qualitative approach, with a cross-sectional design and was carried out in a hospital of high complexity in hearing health accredited by the Ministry of Health. The sample was for convenience, consisting of implanted, aged between 4 to 17 years and their respective legal guardians. The sample closure was due to theoretical saturation with a total of 13 participants. Participation in the study was voluntary and followed all current ethical regulations. Data collection was initially carried out through sociodemographic characterization based on medical records and social files. Next, a narrative interview was conducted with those responsible, allowing an in-depth analysis of the corpus. The data showed situations experienced by cochlear implant users in the school inclusion process, such as: denial of vacancies; lack of knowledge of the education teams; low performance; bullying situation; prejudice; and lack of professionals for specialized educational service. RESUMO Neste estudo, objetivou-se analisar a inclusão escolar de usuários de implante coclear. A pesquisa teve abordagem qualitativa, com desenho transversal e foi realizada em um hospital de alta complexidade em saúde auditiva credenciado ao Ministério da Saúde. A amostra foi por conveniência, constituída por implantados, com idades entre 4 e 17 anos e seus respectivos responsáveis legais. O fechamento amostral deu-se por saturação teórica com um total de 13 participantes. A participação no estudo foi voluntária e seguiu todas as normativas éticas vigentes. A coleta de dados foi realizada, inicialmente, por meio de caracterização sociodemográfica baseada nos prontuários e fichas sociais. Na sequência, foi realizada entrevista narrativa com os responsáveis, permitindo uma análise do corpus em profundidade. Os dados demonstraram situações vivenciadas pelos usuários de implante coclear no processo de inclusão escolar como: negativa de vagas; desconhecimento das equipes de educação; baixo desempenho; situação de bullying; preconceito; e falta de profissional para o atendimento educacional especializado. ABSTRACT Purpose: to develop and validate the content of the communication screening instrument for children aged 0 to 36 months. Methods: an instrument comprising nine categories organized into five domains, according to developmental milestones per age group. The research was conducted in two stages. The first included item construction and theoretical content validation by seven judges with expertise in child language. The second included the empirical validation by the target population, in which three speech-language-hearing pathologists applied the instrument to 30 parents in a school in Recife, PE, Brazil. First-stage data analysis focused primarily on verifying agreement between the judges. In the second stage, the examiners suggested adjusting some items, and the children's performances were stratified. Results: a high level of interjudge agreement was observed in the first stage (CVI > 0.90). In the second stage, the performances stratified into quartiles confirmed the instrument’s feasibility for discriminating normally developing children from those at risk of a communication disorder or needing attention. RESUMO Objetivo: elaborar e validar o conteúdo do instrumento de rastreio da comunicação de crianças de 0 a 36 meses. Métodos: o instrumento possui nove categorias organizadas em cinco domínios estruturados com base nos marcos do desenvolvimento por faixa etária. A pesquisa foi realizada em duas etapas. A primeira englobou a construção dos itens e a validação teórica do conteúdo por sete juízes com expertise na área de linguagem infantil. A segunda englobou a validação empírica pela população-alvo, consistindo na aplicação do instrumento por três fonoaudiólogas a 30 pais em uma escola de Recife-PE. A análise dos dados da primeira etapa voltou-se prioritariamente à verificação da concordância entre os juízes. Na segunda etapa, as aplicadoras apresentaram sugestões para ajustes em alguns itens e os desempenhos das crianças foram estratificados. Resultados: na primeira etapa, foi observado um alto índice de concordância entre os juízes (IVC > 0,90). Abstract Objective: To investigate ocular movements measures of vectoelectro-nystagmography and video-nystagmography in dyslexic children and compare with measures of typical children. Methods: A systematic review of observational studies comparing the ocular movements differences between dyslexic and typical children with no publication date or language restriction. The literature survey included the bibliographic databases MEDLINE, ScienceDirect, Scopus, Web of Science, SciELO, Lilacs and CENTRAL. Gray literature databases were also searched, including: OpenGrey.eu, DissOnline.de, The New York Academy of Medicine and WorldCat. The meta-analysis was performed using software RevMan 5.3 (Cochran Collaboration). Results: A total of 2375 articles were found of which 113 fell within the inclusion criteria. Among these, 52 were duplicates (found in more than one research source), and 45 articles were selected for reading in full. Thirteen (13) articles were included for analysis and discussion. Meta-analysis showed statistical differences between the two groups for the total number of saccades and duration of fixation. Conclusion: The study revealed that children with dyslexia have longer duration of fixation and fewer saccades during ocular movements on vectoelectro-nystagmography and videonystagmography when compared to children without dyslexia. Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) has grown exponentially over the past few decades. With a multifactorial cause, the diagnosis of ASD is essentially clinical, but it is known that early diagnosis contributes to a better prognosis. The educational context is conducive to tracking signs of ASD in preschool children, however, there are no instruments with this function. OBJECTIVE: verify the evidence of content validity of an instrument to identify signs for ASD in the educational context. METHOD: the elaboration of the instrument consisted of developing the questions, submitting the questions to a committee of expert judges and subsequent evaluation by members of the target population. For content evaluation, 15 judges with expertise in ASD participated, who judged the items from the first version of the instrument as to their relevance and representativeness for a given concept. The second stage included the participation of 10 preschool teachers who evaluated the items from the second version regarding the understanding of the items. The third stage included the participation of two specialists and early childhood education teachers. RESULTS: Literature investigation allowed the construction of the first version of the instrument, composed of two categories: Social communication and Social interaction and Behavior patterns. In the stage of analysis of questions by judges, the IVC and IVC-I indices showed high agreement among experts. However, some items needed to be adjusted, and a second version was proposed. The analysis stage by members of the target population revealed that the vast majority of items were understood by the evaluators, requiring some adjustments, which culminated in the elaboration of the third version. Finally, the analysis of the third version of the instrument by two specialists and by the group of early childhood education teachers indicated the need for changes, resulting in the fourth version of the instrument. CONCLUSION: The elaborated instrument showed evidence of content validity, and should proceed to the next validation steps.

El trastorno del espectro autista (TEA) ha mostrado un crecimiento exponencial durante las últimas décadas. Con una causa multifactorial, el diagnóstico de TEA es fundamentalmente clínico, pero se sabe que el diagnóstico precoz contribuye a un mejor pronóstico. El contexto educativo es propicio para el seguimiento de los signos de TEA en niños en edad preescolar, sin embargo, no existen instrumentos para tal fin. OBJETIVO: verificar la evidencia de validez de contenido de un instrumento de identificación de signos de TEA en el contexto educativo. MÉTODO: el desarrollo del instrumento consistió en desarrollar las preguntas, someter las preguntas a un comité de jueces expertos y posterior evaluación por parte de los miembros de la población objetivo. Para la evaluación de contenido participaron 15 jueces con experiencia en TEA, quienes juzgaron los ítems de la primera versión del instrumento en cuanto a su relevancia y representatividad para un concepto dado. La segunda etapa contó con la participación de 10 maestros de preescolar que evaluaron los ítems de la segunda versión encuanto a la comprensión de los ítems. La tercera etapa contó con la participación de dos especialistas y docentes de educación infantil. RESULTADOS: La investigación de la literatura permitió la construcción de la primera versión del instrumento, que consta de dos categorías: Comunicación social e Interacción social y Patrones de conducta. Para avaliação do conteúdo participaram 15 juízes com expertise em TEA, que julgaram os itens da primeira versão do instrumento quanto à relevância e representatividade para um determinado conceito. A segunda etapa contou com a participação de 10 professores da educação infantil que avaliaram os itens da segunda versão quanto à compreensão dos itens. A terceira etapa contou com a participação de duas especialistas e de professores da educação infantil. ABSTRACT Purpose: to verify the sensitivity and accuracy measures of the Developmental Stuttering Screening Instrument (DSSI). Methods: the DSSI was administered to 30 parents/guardians of children aged 2 to 5 years and 11 months with and without complaint of stuttering. The instrument administration was timed. The sensitivity analysis used the Weight of Evidence (WoE) binary classification model to verify the strength level of the items. The cutoff scores were established with grouping analysis with the k-means cluster method, based on the minimum and maximum values of each identified group’s scores. The data were analyzed with the SPSS statistical software (version 20.0) and were considered significant with p ≤ 0.05. Results: the interviews lasted an overall mean of 17 minutes. The WoE model revealed that the items with the greatest predictive strength for risk of stuttering were the social reaction to their speech, the physical concomitants, and the comprehension of the child’s speech. The correspondence analysis showed a strong association between “having complaints” and “high total score”, as well as between “not having complaints” and “low total score”, indicating that the parents’ complaints are a factor that leads to high scores in the instrument. “Sex” had little predictive effect for risk. The grouping analysis enabled the stratification of subjects into three risk levels: “not at risk”, “under observation”, and “at risk”. Conclusion: the instrument presented the first evidence of sensitivity and accuracy measures, thus, making the identification of risk of developmental stuttering in preschoolers, possible.

RESUMO Objetivo: elaborar um instrumento de rastreio com fins de identificação do risco para gagueira do desenvolvimento em crianças pré-escolares. Métodos: os procedimentos foram divididos em duas etapas: A primeira etapa - teórica, consistiu na revisão da literatura e a construção dos itens que compõe o instrumento; A segunda etapa - validação de conteúdo, consistiu da análise do instrumento por um comitê de juízes composto por 10 fonoaudiólogas atuantes na área da Fluência. Para análise dos dados foi calculado o índice de validade de conteúdo por item (IVC-I) e pelo total de respostas (IVC-T), bem como realizada uma análise da confiabilidade dos itens por meio do alfa de Cronbach. Resultados: o Instrumento de Rastreio para a Gagueira do Desenvolvimento (IRGD) foi composto por 24 itens distribuídos em quatro categorias-chaves. Os índices IVC-I e IVC-T evidenciaram alta concordância entre os juízes. Os coeficientes do alfa de Cronbach indicaram alta consistência interna entre as respostas dos juízes em 19 dos 24 itens. A análise qualitativa destacou a necessidade de novos ajustes. Todas as análises possibilitaram a construção da segunda versão do instrumento. Conclusão: o instrumento proposto mostrou evidências de validade baseada no conteúdo que permitiram, até o momento, ajustá-lo em relação ao seu construto. Sugere-se a continuidade do processo de validação por meio do emprego de novas medidas de acurácia.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to develop a screening instrument to identify the risk of developmental stuttering in preschoolers. Methods: the procedures were divided into two stages: The first one (theoretical), consisted of the literature review and the construction of the items that make up the instrument; the second stage (content validation), consisted of the analysis of the instrument by a judging committee formed by 10 speech-language-hearing therapists who work in the field of fluency. The data analysis was based on the calculation of the item content validity index (I-CVI) and the total number of answers (T-CVI). Also, an item reliability analysis was conducted with Cronbach’s alpha. Results: the Developmental Stuttering Screening Instrument (DSSI) encompassed 24 items distributed into four key categories. The I-CVI and T-CVI revealed a high agreement between the judges. The Cronbach’s alpha coefficients indicated a high internal consistency between the judges’ answers in 19 of the 24 items. The qualitative analysis pointed to the need for new adjustments. All the analyses contributed to the construction of the second version of the instrument. Conclusion: the proposed instrument showed content-based validity evidence that made it possible, up to the present moment, to adjust it to its construct. It is suggested that the validation process continue, employing new accuracy measures.

RESUMO Objetivo: verificar se a orientação fonoaudiológica remota complementar é uma ferramenta eficaz no acompanhamento de usuários de implante coclear no pós-operatório imediato. Métodos: participaram 26 familiares, divididos em dois grupos: com orientação fonoaudiológica remota e sem orientação fonoaudiológica remota. No momento da ativação foram realizadas orientações sobre quatro temas: dispositivo, família, escola e terapia fonoaudiológica. Após uma semana, iniciaram as orientações para o grupo com orientação fonoaudiológica remota, por meio do uso do celular. No retorno presencial foi aplicado um questionário contendo perguntas sobre as orientações e realizada uma entrevista com os responsáveis que receberam a orientação remota. Os dados relativos ao questionário foram analisados por meio do Teste exato de Fisher, com significância de 5%. Os dados qualitativos foram analisados a partir da Análise de Conteúdo Temática de Bardin. Resultados: nos resultados quantitativos houve diferença significante entre os grupos, nos temas: dispositivo e escola. Nos dados qualitativos foi verificado que a orientação fonoaudiológica remota trouxe maior segurança aos familiares dos usuários de implante coclear, ajudando no processo terapêutico e escolar. Conclusão: a orientação fonoaudiológica remota complementar se mostrou uma ferramenta eficaz nos temas pesquisados, principalmente com relação ao manuseio do dispositivo e orientação à escola.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to verify whether the complementary remote speech-language-hearing follow-up is an effective tool in the monitoring of cochlear implant users in the immediate postoperative period. Methods: a total of 26 relatives participated in the study, divided into two groups: with and without remote speech-language-hearing follow-up. By the time the device was activated, they were given instructions on four subjects: the device, family, school, and speech-language-hearing therapy. After one week, the group with remote speech-language-hearing follow-up started receiving such care via mobile phone. In the in-person follow-up visit, a questionnaire was administered (containing questions on the guidance given), as well as an interview with the parents/guardians that received the remote follow-up. The data obtained from the questionnaire were analyzed with Fisher’s exact test, with 5% significance. The qualitative data were analyzed based on Bardin’s theme content analysis technique. Results: there was a significant difference in the quantitative results between the groups regarding “device” and “school”. In the qualitative data, it was verified that the remote speech-language-hearing follow-up furnished greater assurance to the relatives of the cochlear implant users, helping them in the therapeutic process and at school. Conclusion: the complementary remote speech-language-hearing follow-up proved to be an effective tool in the subjects researched, especially regarding the handling of the device and guidance to school.

RESUMO Objetivo: investigar a magnitude do benefício da modulação do mascaramento no reconhecimento de sentenças, em função do nível de compressão temporal da fala e da taxa de modulação do ruído. Métodos: foram utilizadas sentenças do Hearing in Noise Test versão Português do Brasil. Foram determinados os limiares de reconhecimento das sentenças em função do nível de compressão temporal da fala (0%, 33% e 50%) em presença de ruído estável e modulado, em diferentes taxas de modulação (4, 10, 32 Hz). Foi realizada uma análise de variância para medidas repetidas, adotando nível de significância de 5%. Resultados: os limiares de reconhecimento de sentenças foram mais elevados com o aumento do nível de compressão temporal nos diferentes tipos de ruídos, no entanto, foram menores em presença dos ruídos modulados. Além disso, a magnitude do benefício da modulação do mascaramento diminuiu com o aumento do nível de compressão temporal da fala. Contudo, não foi observada diferença na fala comprimida entre as diferentes taxas de modulação do ruído, em função do nível de compressão temporal da fala. Conclusão: a magnitude do benefício do mascaramento modulado diminuiu com o aumento da compressão temporal da fala e as reduções no benefício do mascaramento modulado em função do nível de compressão temporal da fala não diferiram entre as taxas de modulações do ruído mascarante (4 Hz, 10 Hz e 32 Hz).

ABSTRACT Purpose: to investigate the magnitude of the modulation masking release in sentence recognition as a function of compression level and modulation rate. Methods: sentences of the Brazilian Portuguese version of the Hearing in Noise Test sentences were used as stimulus. The sentence recognition thresholds were established as a function of speech compression level (0%, 33%, and 50%) in steady and modulated noise at different modulation rates (4, 10, 32 Hz). The analysis of variance was performed for repeated measures, using the 5% significance level. Results: sentence recognition thresholds were higher for higher compression levels in the different types of noise. However, thresholds were smaller for modulated noises. Also, the magnitude of modulation masking release decreased as speech compression level increased. Nevertheless, no difference was observed in compressed speech between different noise modulation rates, in relation to the speech compression level. Conclusion: the magnitude of the modulation masking release decreased as the speech time-compression increased. Also, the reductions in modulation masking release, in relation to the speech time-compression level, did not differ between the masking-noise modulation rates (4, 10, and 32 Hz).

RESUMO Objetivo: caracterizar o desempenho cognitivo-linguístico de escolares no ciclo de alfabetização, a fim de identificar escolares em risco para os transtornos de aprendizagem no contexto da escola pública. Métodos: participaram do estudo 88 escolares, com faixa etária de 6 a 8 anos de idade, matriculados no 1º, 2º e 3º ano do ensino fundamental I, de duas escolas na cidade de Recife, PE, Brasil. Como procedimento foi utilizado o Protocolo de Avaliação de Habilidades Cognitivo-Linguísticas. Este protocolo possui uma versão coletiva e individual e ambas foram aplicadas. A análise dos grupos foi realizada por meio de estatística não-paramétrica de Kruskal-Wallis com p <0,05. Resultados: todos os escolares foram submetidos à versão individual por apresentarem desempenho inferior na versão coletiva do protocolo. Assim, a aplicação da versão coletiva não foi suficiente para identificar os escolares em risco para os transtornos de aprendizagem, sendo indicada a avaliação individual. Na versão individual, os escolares do 1º ano apresentaram desempenho inferior na maioria dos subtestes que compõem o instrumento, já o 2º e o 3º ano apresentaram desempenho médio, que também merece atenção de acordo com o instrumento da avaliação. Estes resultados, aquém do esperado para a idade e série, podem ser uma consequência de más oportunidades de aprendizagem dentro e fora da escola. Além disso, foram observadas diferenças significantes em função do avanço da escolaridade, revelando que as habilidades cognitivo-linguísticas, que são precursoras do processo de aprendizagem da leitura e escrita, só estão tendo um maior salto de desenvolvimento ao final do ciclo de alfabetização, no 3º ano, o que revela um atraso importante em termos de aprendizagem. Conclusão: o baixo desempenho nas habilidades cognitivo-linguísticas observado nos escolares dificulta a identificação precoce de escolares em risco para os transtornos de aprendizagem e questiona a qualidade das oportunidades socioeducativas vivenciadas pelos escolares dentro e fora da escola pública. Outros fatores linguísticos, como diferenças regionais e contexto linguístico, necessitam ser considerados na interpretação de testes que avaliam habilidades cognitivo-linguísticas.

ABSTRACT Objective: to characterize the linguistic-cognitive performance of schoolchildren in the literacy cycle, in order to identify children at risk for learning disorders in the public school context. Methods: this study involved 88 children, aged 6 to 8 years, enrolled in the first, second and third year of elementary education I, from two schools in the city of Recife, Pernambuco, Brazil. The procedure used was the Cognitive-Linguistic Skills Evaluation Protocol, which has collective and individual versions, both being applied. The analysis of the groups was performed through the statistical non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test with p <0.05. Results: all students were submitted to the individual version for presenting poor performance in the collective version of the protocol. Thus, the application of the collective version was not sufficient to identify children at risk for learning disorders, thus, the indication of the individual assessment. In the individual version, students from the 1st year showed a lower performance in most of the subtests that make up the instrument, whereas those from the 2nd and 3rd years had an average performance, which also deserves attention, according to the instrument of evaluation. These results, below the one expected for the age and school year, may be a consequence of poor learning opportunities within and outside school. There were also significant differences as a function of the schooling advance, revealing that the cognitive-linguistic skills, precursors of the reading and writing learning process, are only having a greater leap of development at the end of the literacy cycle, in the third year, which reveals a significant delay in terms of learning. Conclusion: the low performance observed in cognitive-linguistic abilities in schoolchildren hinders the early identification of children at risk for learning disorders and questions the quality of educational opportunities experienced by the students inside and outside the public school. Other factors, such as regional differences in language and linguistic context, need to be considered in the interpretation of tests that evaluate cognitive-linguistic abilities.

RESUMO Objetivo Analisar e comparar o desempenho cognitivo-linguístico de uma criança usuária de implante coclear em relação aos seus pares ouvintes em processo de aprendizagem da leitura e da escrita. Método A amostra foi constituída por 11 crianças (na faixa etária de 7 a 10 anos de idade) ouvintes e uma usuária de implante coclear na orelha direita, matriculadas no 3º ano do ensino fundamental. O instrumento de avaliação utilizado foi o Protocolo de Avaliação das Habilidades Cognitivo-linguísticas. Os dados referentes às crianças foram transcritos e analisados utilizando-se a estatística descritiva. Resultados Os subtestes que apresentaram o maior percentual de crianças com desempenho superior foram: alfabeto em sequência (82%); leitura de pseudopalavras (82%); segmentação silábica (73%); repetição de palavras (82%); cópia de formas (72%); nomeação rápida (100%). Desses subtestes, a criança usuária de implante coclear apresentou desempenho superior em todos, exceto o de repetição de palavras, em que obteve desempenho médio. No subteste de ritmo, nenhuma criança obteve desempenho superior e a usuária de implante coclear obteve desempenho inferior. Conclusão A criança usuária de implante coclear apresentou um perfil cognitivo-linguístico bastante semelhante ao dos seus pares ouvintes. Ao que parece, as dificuldades de realização de algumas tarefas cognitivo-linguísticas estão relacionadas a fatores que vão além da integridade auditiva, haja vista que, em alguns subtestes, crianças ouvintes, obtiveram desempenho abaixo do esperado.

ABSTRACT Purpose When children becom cochlear implant users, they have already had the opportunity to develop phonological skills; however, it is possible that they miss sound information during speech and, consequently, present difficulties in competences associated with the learning of reading and writing. Methods The study sample consisted of 11 normal hearing children aged 7-10 years and a right-ear cochlear implant user enrolled in the 3rd grade of Elementary School. The Cognitive-Linguistic Assessment protocol was used to evaluate the study participants. Data were transcribed and analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results The following sub-tests presented the highest percentage of children with superior performance: alphabet in sequence (82%), reading of pseudo-words (82%), syllable segmentation (73%), word repetition (82%), copying of shapes (72%), and rapid naming (100%).The cochlear implant user presented superior performance in all the sub-tests except for word repetition, in which average performance was observed. In the rhythm sub-test, none of the normal hearing children presented superior performance, and the cochlear implant user performed poorly. Discussion It was possible to observe that the condition of being a cochlear implant user is not the only determinant for a child's school failure. There are issues that go beyond auditory integrity, because some normal hearing children performed poorly in sub-tests such as repetition of pseudo-words, rhythm, and alliteration. Conclusion The cochlear implant user presented a cognitive-linguistic profile very similar to those of his hearing peers.

RESUMO Objetivo Levantar na literatura a descrição do desenvolvimento de linguagem de crianças usuárias de implante coclear. Estratégias de pesquisa Buscas na plataforma Pubmed e nas bases de dados Web of Science, Scopus e Science Direct, seguindo etapas de seleção e análise crítica dos periódicos encontrados e escolhidos. Critérios de seleção Selecionados artigos originais que abordavam crianças usuárias de implante coclear, nos quais eram mencionados o desenvolvimento de linguagem após a cirurgia. Excluídos artigos de estudo de caso, dissertações, capítulos de livros, editoriais e artigos originais que não referenciavam no título, no resumo ou no texto aspectos de desenvolvimento da comunicação oral, percepção dos sons e da fala e outras fases do desenvolvimento humano. Análise dos dados Foi criado um fichamento protocolar contemplando os seguintes pontos: autor, ano, local, amostra, tipo de estudo, objetivos, métodos utilizados, resultados principais e conclusão. Resultados Encontrados 5.052 artigos a partir da busca de descritores e termos livres. Desses, 3.414 foram excluídos pelo título, 1.245, pelo resumo e 358, pela leitura do texto completo, sendo selecionados 35, dos quais, 28 estavam repetidos. Ao final, sete artigos foram analisados nesta revisão. Conclusão Verifica-se que os usuários de implante coclear apresentam desenvolvimento linguístico e educacional aquém de seus pares com audição normal, porém melhor que os usuários de próteses convencionais, podendo igualar-se a eles com o passar do tempo. Há uma grande variabilidade nas metodologias dos testes, diminuindo, portanto, a efetividade e a confiabilidade dos resultados encontrados.

ABSTRACT Aim review the literature for studies that describe the language development of children after they receive cochlear implants. Research strategies Literature review on the PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, and Science Direct databases, tracing the selection and critical analysis stages in the journals found and selected. Selection criteria We selected original articles looking at children with cochlear implants, which mentioned language development after surgery. Case studies, dissertations, books chapters, editorials, and original articles that did not mention aspects of oral communication development, perception of sounds and speech, and other stages of human development, in the title, abstract, or text, were excluded. Data analysis A protocol was created for this study including the following points: author, year, location, sample, type of study, objectives, methods used, main results, and conclusion. Results 5,052 articles were found based on the search descriptors and free terms. Of this total, 3,414 were excluded due to the title, 1,245 due to the abstract, and 358 from reading the full text; we selected 35, of which 28 were repeated. In the end, seven articles were analyzed in this review. Conclusion We conclude that cochlear implant users have slower linguistic and educational development than their peers with normal hearing - though they are better than conventional prostheses users - and they are able to match them over time. There is great variability in the test methodologies, thus reducing the effectiveness and reliability of the results found.

RESUMO Objetivo: investigar a contribuição da consciência fonológica e nomeação seriada rápida para a aprendizagem inicial da escrita. Métodos: participaram do estudo 100 crianças, na faixa etária de três a seis anos e onze meses, matriculadas na educação infantil de uma creche e uma escola municipal da cidade do Recife. Utilizou-se como instrumentos de avaliação o Teste de Consciência Fonológica, a tarefa de Nomeação Seriada Rápida e um roteiro de avaliação da escrita. Os dados foram transcritos e analisados conforme a estatística descritiva e inferencial. Resultados: observou-se que o aumento da faixa etária está diretamente relacionado ao desenvolvimento dos níveis de consciência fonológica, assim como com a diminuição dos erros e do tempo para execução das tarefas de NSR. Verificou-se que as crianças com mais de quatro anos, tiveram um desempenho em consciência fonológica aquém do esperado para sua idade. Dentre as habilidades de consciência fonológica, a consciência silábica obteve melhores índices de pontuações, podendo-se observar grande dificuldade dos participantes nas tarefas de consciência fonêmica. Com relação a escrita, a maioria das crianças estavam na fase pré-silábica. Foi possível verificar correlações significantes entre as habilidades de consciência fonológica com a nomeação seriada rápida e escrita. Conclusão: a consciência fonológica e nomeação seriada rápida contribuem para a aprendizagem inicial da escrita, sendo importante o estímulo destas habilidades antes do ciclo de alfabetização, o que pode favorecer este processo e sinalizar, precocemente, eventuais problemas de aprendizagem. O baixo desempenho nas tarefas pode ser sugestivo da influência de fatores socioeducacionais, devendo-se considerar o contexto de vida da criança e as experiências educativas vivenciadas na família e escola.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to investigate the contribution of phonological awareness and rapid serial naming for the initial learning of writing. Methods: the study involved 100 children of both sexe, aged from two to six years and eleven months , enrolled in early childhood education from a nursery and a school hall in the in the city of Recife. Was used as assessment tools Test of Phonological Awareness, a task of Rapid Serial Naming and script writing evaluation. Data were transcribed and analyzed according to descriptive and inferential statistic. Results: it was observed that increasing age is directly related to the development of phonological awareness levels and reduction of errors and the time for performance of the tasks of rapid serial naming. Among the phonological awareness, syllable awareness scores obtained better rates, can be observed in great difficulty participating in the tasks of phonemic awareness. It was possible to identify significant correlations between phonological awareness, rapid serial naming and writing. Conclusion: the rapid serial naming contribute to early learning of reading and writing, with the encouragement of these important skills before literacy cycle, favoring this process and signaling potential learning problems early. The poor performance on tasks can be suggestive of the influence of socioeducational factors, one should consider the context of the child's life and the lived educational experiences in the family and school.

Resumo A avaliação da dor em crianças necessita de um olhar específico voltado para sua descrição. Considerar aspectos do desenvolvimento cognitivo e linguístico é fundamental na interpretação da experiência dolorosa na população infantil. Trata-se de um estudo de qualitativo que teve como objetivo identificar os descritores de dor presentes nas narrativas de crianças em tratamento oncológico e compará-los aos presentes em um instrumento para adultos. Desenvolvido em um Centro de Oncohepatologia Pediátrico, no período de março a outubro de 2013. A população foi composta por 26 escolares, de ambos os sexos, com idade média de 8 anos e 7 meses. Os resultados apontam que, independentemente da idade, a utilização de reforços figurativos na comunicação oral é bastante presente como apoio na descrição da dor e revelam a necessidade da criação de instrumentos de avaliação de dor adequados às faixas etárias, de forma a facilitar as representações simbólicas em crianças.

Abstract The difficulty in assessing pain in children indicates the need for a specific look at the description of the pain. Considering aspects of cognitive and linguistic development is crucial for the interpretation of pain experience in children. The main point of this study was to identify pain descriptors present in the children's narratives which are undergoing cancer treatment and compare them with those present in an instrument for adults. This was a qualitative study conducted in an Oncohepatology Pediatric Center, from March to October of 2013. The sample consisted on 26 students, of both sexes, with an average age of 8 years and 7 months. The results indicate that regardless of age, the use of figurative reinforcements in oral communication is founded as a support in the description of the pain and shows the needing of the creation of assessment pain tools appropriated to each age, in order to facilitate the symbolic representations in children.

Resumen La dificultad en la evaluación del dolor en los niños indica la necesidad de una mirada específica en la descripción del dolor. Considerar los aspectos del desarrollo cognitivo y lingüístico es fundamental para la interpretación de la experiencia del dolor en los niños. El objetivo del estudio fue identificar los descriptores del dolor presentes en las narrativas de los niños sometidos a tratamiento contra el cáncer y compararlos con los presentes en un instrumento para los adultos. Este fue un estudio cualitativo realizado en un Centro Pediátrico de Oncohepatologia, de marzo a octubre de 2013. La muestra estuvo conformada por 26 estudiantes, de ambos sexos, con una edad promedio de 8 años y 7 meses. Los resultados indican que, independientemente de la edad, el uso de refuerzos figurativos en la comunicación oral es suficiente para mantener a esta en la descripción del dolor y revelar la necesidad de la creación de herramientas de evaluación del dolor apropiadas para cada edad, con el fin de facilitar las representaciones simbólicas en los niños.

Resumo: OBJETIVO: descrever o desenvolvimento fonológico de crianças falantes do português não padrão na Região Metropolitana do Recife- PE, a partir do modelo dos processos fonológicos. MÉTODOS: participaram do estudo 202 crianças de ambos os sexos, na faixa etária de 2:0 a 6:11 anos, matriculadas em creches e escolas públicas. Utilizou-se como instrumento de avaliação a Prova de Avaliação Fonológica. Os dados foram gravados, transcritos, codificados e tabulados em um banco de dados, que possibilitou a realização de análises descritivas (cálculo de médias e desvios padrão). RESULTADOS: os processos fonológicos mais frequentes foram simplificação de encontro consonantal, simplificação de líquida, redução de sílaba e simplificação de consoante final. Observou-se o atraso na eliminação dos processos de redução de sílaba, harmonia consonantal, plosivação de fricativa, simplificação de fricativa velar e simplificação de liquida. Observou-se, ainda, que o processo de simplificação de encontro consonantal não foi eliminado na população estudada, levando-se em consideração as idades de eliminação descritas na literatura pesquisada, o que pode ser revelador da influência da variedade linguística sobre a aquisição fonológica. CONCLUSÃO: crianças falantes do português não padrão da Região Metropolitana do Recife apresentam uma aquisição fonológica diferente da descrição da literatura na área, o que pode ser indicativo da influência da variedade linguística. Os resultados chamam a atenção para o fato que tal variedade deve ser considerada na avaliação fonológica, sendo fundamental que novos estudos explorem a aquisição fonológica em diferentes regiões do país.

Abstract: PURPOSE: to describe the phonological development of not standard Portuguese speaking children in the metropolitan region of Recife-PE from the phonological processes model. METHODS: 202 children of both sexes, aged from 2:0 to 6:11 years, attending day care centers and public schools, took part in the study. The Phonological Assessment Test was used for evaluation. Data were recorded, transcribed, coded and tabulated in a database, which enabled the realization of descriptive analysis (calculation of means and standard deviations). RESULTS: the most frequent phonological processes were consonant cluster simplification, liquid consonant simplification, syllable reduction and simplification of final consonant. There was a delay in the elimination of syllable reduction processes, consonant harmony, plosivation of fricatives, simplification of velar fricatives and liquid consonant simplification. It was also noted that the consonant cluster simplification process was not eliminated in the studied population, taking into account the age of elimination as described in the literature, which may be indicative of the influence of linguistic variety on phonological acquisition. CONCLUSION: speakers of non-standard Portuguese of the Recife metropolitan region have a different phonological acquisition from that described in the literature, which may be indicative of the influence of linguistic variety. The results draw attention to the fact that such variety should be considered in phonological evaluations. It is essential that new studies explore phonological acquisition in different regions of the country.
