Avaliaram-se os efeitos da hipovolemia aguda em cães anestesiados pelo isofluorano sobre a eletrocardiografia com a duração e amplitude da onda P (Pms e PmV, respectivamente); intervalo entre as ondas P e R (P-R); duração do complexo QRS (QRS); amplitude da onda R (RmV); intervalo entre as ondas Q e T (Q-T) e intervalo entre as duas ondas (R-R), freqüência cardíaca (FC), índice cardíaco (IC), índice sistólico (IS) e pressões arteriais sistólica (PAS), diastólica (PAD) e média (PAM). Verificou-se também a possível influência do anestésico sobre a resposta compensatória à hipovolemia aguda. Para tal, foram utilizados 20 cães hígidos, sem raça definida, adultos, machos e fêmeas. Induziu-se a anestesia geral com isofluorano por meio de máscara naso-oral a 2,5 CAM e, após a intubação orotraqueal, o vaporizador foi ajustado em 1,5 CAM. Induziu-se a hipovolemia nos animais retirando-se volume total de 35 mlkg-1 de sangue. As mensurações foram realizadas antes da hipovolemia (M0), imediatamente após a retirada do volume total de sangue calculado (M1), e aos dez (M2), trinta (M3) e sessenta (M4) minutos. A avaliação estatística das variáveis foi efetuada por meio de Análise de Variância (ANOVA), seguida pelo teste de Tukey, considerando nível de significância de 5% (P<0,05). Houve redução do tempo de condução elétrica átrio-ventricular, aumento da impedância da musculatura ventricular, redução da freqüência cardíaca, dos índices cardíacos e sistólico, porém sem alteração na despolarização ventricular, sendo que o isofluorano não influenciou no desencadeamento da resposta compensatória à hipovolemia aguda.

Possible effects of acute hypovolemia in dogs anesthetized with isoflurane on the electrocardiography were evaluated. It was observed duration and amplitude of P wave (Ps and PmV), interval between P-R waves (P-R), duration of QRS complex (QRS), amplitude of R wave (RmV), interval between Q-T waves (Q-T) and interval between two R waves (R-R), heart rate (HR), cardiac (CI) and stroke index (SI), and systolic (SAP), diastolic (DAP) and mean arterial pressures (MAP). It was also verified the possible influence of the anesthetic on compensatory mechanism of acute hypovolemia. Twenty adult mongrel dogs, males and females were used. General anesthesia was induced with isoflurane at 2.5% MAC. Thereafter, orotracheal intubation was performed, and the vaporizer was calibrated to 1.5% MAC. To induce hypovolemia, a total amount of 35 mlkg-1 of blood was withdrawn from each dog. The measurements were performed before hypovolemia (M0), immediately after hypovolemia (M1), ten minutes after M1 (M2), thirty minutes after M1 (M3) and sixty minutes after M1 (M4). Numeric data were submitted to variance analysis, followed by Tukey's test, at a 5% (P<0.05) level of significance. There was reduction of electric conduction atrium-ventricular time, heart rate, cardiac and systolic index, the impedance of ventricular musculature increased, without ventricular despolarization alteration, and the isoflurane did not interfere the compensatory mechanism activation on the acute hypovolemia.

A fim de determinar possíveis alterações nos principais parâmetros fisiológicos determinados pela infusão contínua de propofol, em diferentes doses, foram utilizados 24 cães adultos distribuídos aleatoriamente em 3 grupos (P2, P4 e P8). Os animais foram induzidos à anestesia pela administração intravenosa de propofol (10mg/kg) e, ato contínuo, os cães receberam o anestésico, em infusão contínua nas doses de 0,2mg/kg/min (P2), 0,4mg/kg/min (P4) e 0,8mg/kg/min (P8). As mensurações dos valores das variáveis cardiorrespiratórias [freqüência cardíaca (FC); pressões arteriais sistólica, diastólica e média (PAS, PAD e PAM, respectivamente); eletrocardiografia e freqüência respiratória (f)] e temperatura retal (T) foram realizadas antes da aplicação do fármaco (M0) e após 10, 20, 30, 40 e 50 minutos do início da infusão contínua. Os dados numéricos das variáveis estudadas foram submetidos à Análise de Variância (ANOVA) seguida pelo Teste F (P<0,05). Para FC, observaram-se diferenças entre os grupos no M20 (P2: 91 ± 14,92; P4: 113 ± 17,18; P8: 120 ± 14,84), M30 (P2: 89 ± 13,79; P4: 110 ± 14,3; P8: 114 ± 10,89) e em M40 (P2: 88 ± 17,3; P4: 103 ± 16; P8: 109 ± 8,2), que podem ser justificadas por P2 apresentar menor redução da PAM, não havendo a necessidade de aumento da FC para estabilizar o débito cardíaco e consequentemente para manter a PA. A PAS registrou redução de 26,9% para P2, 23,6% para P4 e 30,6% para P8. Para PAD foram observados decréscimos de 36,2% para P2; 38,1 para P4 e 52,7% para P8, enquanto para PAM a diminuição foi de 32% para P2, 26,3% para P4 e 38,4% para P8. Essas reduções poderiam ser ocasionadas pela diminuição da resistência periférica vascular. Concluiu-se que as reduções ocorridas na PAS, PAD, PAM e f são dependentes da dose de infusão do fármaco, que também proporcionou discreta redução na temperatura retal nos três grupos.

The aim of this article was to establish the correlation between different rates of continuous infusion of propofol and the alterations that might occur with the physiologic parameters most commonly measured by the anesthesiologists. Twenty four adult dogs were randomly divided into 3 groups (P2, P4, P8). All the animals were induced with propofol (10mg/kg), followed immediately by the continuous infusion of the agent: 0.2mg/kg/min (P2), 0.4mg/kg/min (P4) and 0.8mg/kg/min (P8). The heart rate (HR), systolic, diastolic and mean arterial pressures (SAP, DAP and MAP), electrocardiography (ECG), respiratory rate (RR), and body temperature (T) were measured before any drug administration (M0) and 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 minutes after the start of the continuous infusion of propofol. The numerical data were submitted to Profile of Variance followed by F Test (P<0.05). The HR showed differences among groups at M20 (P2: 91 ± 14,92; P4: 113 ± 17,18; P8: 120 ± 14,84), M30 (P2: 89 ± 13,79; P4: 110 ± 14,3; P8: 114 ± 10,89), and M40 (P2: 88 ± 17,3; P4: 103 ± 16; P8: 109 ± 8,2), wich could be justified because P2 demonstrated minor reduction of MAP. There is no need of HR increasing to establish the cardiac output, and consequently, to maintain the AP. A reduction in SAP about 26,9% to P2, 23,6% to P4 and 30,6% to P8, in PAP about 36,2% to P2; 38,1 to P4 and 52,7% to P8I; and in MAP about 32% to P2, 26,3% to P4 and 38,4% to P8 were observed. These reductions could be related to the decrease of peripheral vascular resistance. It was possible to conclude that the decrease observed in SAP, DAP, MAP and RR are dependent on the infusion rate of propofol, which also caused reduction of the rectal temperature in the 3 groups.
