Abstract Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) are already a reality in Brazil. They are used in different fields of knowledge to obtain digital products that contribute to the identification, monitoring, control, and precision of the agricultural decision process. However, the cost-benefit of applying this technology to produce seedlings in commercial tomato nurseries needs better evaluation. This research analyzes the use of an RPAS with RGB camera over areas of table tomato seedlings and compares the cartographic products with the information obtained through semi-structured interviews with rural property owners in the States of Goiás, Minas Gerais, and the Federal District (Brasília). The results were not divided into external area applications and internal (greenhouse) mapping, as adopting technology for monitoring the seedling production process inside greenhouses is still economically unfeasible compared to human identification, thus not justifying the investment. Nonetheless, images of the external area provide crucial information for planning a nursery, considering its structural aspects and adequate disposal.

Resumen Las plataformas aéreas pilotadas a distancia, identificadas como RPAS (Remotely Piloted Aircraft System), conocidas popularmente como drones, ya son una realidad en Brasil, en diferentes áreas del conocimiento, para la generación de productos cartográficos que contribuyan a la identificación, seguimiento, control y precisión en el proceso de decisión agrícola. Sin embargo, la rentabilidad de esta tecnología en la producción de plántulas en viveros comerciales de tomate debe evaluarse mejor. En este sentido, el presente trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar la factibilidad de utilizar un RPAS, embebido con un sensor fotográfico RGB, en viveros de plántulas de tomate de mesa, comparando los productos cartográficos generados con esta tecnología con la información obtenida a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas a empresarios. (identificados y visitados), ubicados en los Estados de Goiás, Minas Gerais y Distrito Federal. Es necesario dividir los resultados en cuanto a las aplicaciones en mapeo externo (vivero) e interno (invernadero), y la adopción de tecnología para monitorear el proceso de producción de plántulas, dentro de invernaderos, aún se muestra económicamente inviable en comparación con la identificación visual y tradicional. operaciones manuales, no justificando la inversión. Por otro lado, la imaginología externa brinda información crucial para la planificación del vivero, considerando los aspectos estructurales y su adecuada disposición.

Resumo As plataformas aéreas remotamente pilotadas, identificadas como RPAS (do inglês Remotely Piloted Aircraft System), popularmente conhecidas como drones, já figuram como uma realidade no Brasil, em diferentes áreas do conhecimento, para a geração de produtos cartográficos que contribuam na identificação, monitoramento, controle e precisão no processo de decisão agrícola. Todavia, o custo-benefício dessa tecnologia na produção de mudas em viveiros comerciais de tomates precisa ser melhor avaliado. Neste sentido, o presente trabalho objetiva analisar a viabilidade do uso de um RPAS, embarcado com sensor fotográfico RGB, em viveiros de mudas de tomate de mesa, comparando os produtos cartográficos gerados com esta tecnologia com as informações obtidas via entrevista semiestruturada com proprietários de empreendimentos localizados nos Estados de Goiás, Minas Gerais e Distrito Federal. Os resultados carecem ser divididos quanto às aplicações em mapeamento externo (viveiro) e interno (estufa), sendo que a adoção da tecnologia para o monitoramento do processo de produção das mudas, dentro de estufas, ainda se mostra economicamente pouco viável em comparação à identificação visual e operações manuais tradicionais, não justificando o investimento. Por sua vez, o imageamento externo fornece informações cruciais para o planejamento do viveiro, considerando os aspectos estruturais e sua adequada disposição.

Resumo O bioma Cerrado brasileiro apresenta em uma grande variedade de espécies endêmicas com diversos compostos bioativos, e Anadenanthera peregrina (L.) Speg é uma espécie promissora. Neste estudo, objetivamos realizar a caracterização fitoquímica e avaliar as atividades antioxidantes e antibacterianas contra Staphylococcus aureus e Escherichia coli do extrato hidroetanólico de cascas do caule de A. peregrina. As cascas foram coletadas no Jardim Botânico de Goiânia, Brasil. O extrato hidroetanólico foi obtido por percolação e submetido a triagem físico-química, estimativa de conteúdo fenólico total, impressão digital por cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência (HPLC) e determinação da atividade antioxidante (valores de IC50 foram calculados para o ensaio 2,2-difenil-1-picril-hidrazil) e antibacteriana. O pH do extrato foi de 5,21 e a densidade foi de 0,956 g/cm3. A triagem fitoquímica indicou a presença de glicosídeos cardíacos, ácidos orgânicos, açúcares redutores, saponinas hemolíticas, fenóis, cumarinas, taninos condensados, flavonóides, catequinas, depsídios e depsidonas derivados de benzoquinonas. O extrato mostrou intensa atividade hemolítica. O conteúdo fenólico total foi de 6,40 g de GAE 100 g-1. A análise por impressão digital por HPLC revelou a presença de ácido gálico, catequina e epicatequina. Confirmamos a atividade antioxidante do extrato. Além disso, o extrato não inibiu o crescimento de colônias de E. coli em nenhum volume testado, mas houve halos em torno das colônias de S. aureus nos três volumes testados. Estes resultados contribuem para uma melhor compreensão da composição química da casca de A. peregrina e apoia ainda mais as aplicações medicinais desta espécie.

Abstract The Brazilian Cerrado biome consists of a great variety of endemic species with several bioactive compounds, and Anadenanthera peregrina (L.) Speg is a promising species. In this study, we aimed to perform phytochemical characterization and evaluate the antioxidant and antibacterial activities against Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli of the hydroethanolic extract of A. peregrina stem bark. The barks were collected in the Botanical Garden of Goiânia, Brazil. The hydroethanolic extract was obtained by percolation and subjected to physicochemical screening, total phenolic content estimation, high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) fingerprinting, and antioxidant (IC50 values were calculated for the 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl assay - DPPH) and antibacterial activity determination. The pH of the extract was 5.21 and density was 0.956 g/cm3. The phytochemical screening indicated the presence of cardiac glycosides, organic acids, reducing sugars, hemolytic saponins, phenols, coumarins, condensed tannins, flavonoids, catechins, depsides, and depsidones derived from benzoquinones. The extract showed intense hemolytic activity. The total phenolic content was 6.40 g GAE 100 g-1. The HPLC fingerprinting analysis revealed the presence of gallic acid, catechin, and epicatechin. We confirmed the antioxidant activity of the extract. Furthermore, the extract did not inhibit the growth of E. coli colonies at any volume tested, but there were halos around S. aureus colonies at all three volumes tested. These results contribute to a better understanding of the chemical composition of A. peregrina stem bark and further support the medicinal applications of this species.

RESUMO O número de transplantes de órgãos e tecidos em humanos e animais tem crescido significativamente nos últimos anos, principalmente após o advento de técnicas modernas e mais seguras indutoras de imunossupressão. Objetiva-se com o presente estudo avaliar macro e microscopicamente o alotransplante parcial de bexiga a fresco em coelhos, utilizando como agente imunomodulador células-tronco mesenquimais derivadas do tecido adiposo (ADSC) alogênicas. Foram utilizados 25 coelhos, sendo um deles macho e doador das ADSCs, e os outros 24 eram fêmeas, submetidas a alotransplante parcial de bexiga, tratadas com ciclosporina (GCi) ou células-tronco mesenquimais (GCe). Conclui-se que o GCe teve melhor aceitação histológica do implante em relação ao GCi aos 30 dias de avaliação.

ABSTRACT The number of organ and tissue transplantation in humans and animals has grown significantly recently, especially after the advent of modern and safer techniques of immunosuppression. The objective of this study was to evaluate macro and microscopically partial urinary bladder fresh allograft in rabbits, using as immunomodulatory agent cyclosporine or allogenic adipose tissue derived mesenchymal stem cells (ADSCs). For this purpose, 25 rabbits were used. One male was the donor of ADSCs; 24 females received a partial urinary bladder allograft and were treated with cyclosporine (GCi) or mesenchymal stem cells (GCe). We conclude that the GCe group had better histological acceptance of the implant than GCi group at 30 days evaluation.

Muitos são os problemas envolvendo casos de ruína de edifícios, pontes, entre outros, e especificamente ruína de pilares, que é um dos elos mais importantes do conjunto estrutural. Isto pode ocorrer por falha de projeto, de execução ou ainda, pela evolução e alteração de hábitos. Por isso tem sido de fundamental importância das pesquisas que abordam o comportamento experimental das estruturas. A etapa experimental deste trabalho baseou-se no teste de nove pilares de concreto armado ensaiados à flexo-compressão reta, com excentricidade inicial de 60 mm. Dois pilares foram usados como referência, sendo um com as dimensões originais do pilar e o outro, monolítico, concretado na espessura da peça reforçada. Os demais pilares receberam uma camada de 35 mm de espessura de concreto auto-adensável na face comprimida. Para preparo da zona de interface entre os dois materiais, procedeu-se com a escarificação e a realização de sulcos ao longo desta superfície, onde foram inseridos conectores ligados a armadura transversal do pilar, variando-se a posição e a quantidade dos mesmos. Pode-se concluir que não só a quantidade, mas principalmente, a localização dos conectores utilizados na ligação entre substrato e reforço, é imprescindível para um aumento de resistência e mudança do modo de ruptura.

There are many problems involving cases of destruction of buildings and other structures. The columns can deteriorate for several reasons such as the evolution and changing habits of the loads. The experimental phase of this work was based on a test involving nine reinforced concrete columns under combined bending and axial compression, at an initial eccentricity of 60 mm. Two columns were used as reference, one having the original dimensions of the column and the other, monolithic, had been cast along the thickness of the strengthened piece. The remaining columns received a 35 mm thick layer of self-compacting concrete on their compressed face. For the preparation of the interface between the two materials, this surface was scarified and furrowed and connectors were inserted onto the columns' shear reinforcement in various positions and amounts.As connectors, 5 mm diameter steel bars were used (the same as for stirrups), bent in the shape of a "C" with 25 mm coatings. >As a conclusion, not only the quantity, but mainly, the location of the connectors used in the link between substrate and reinforcement is crucial to increase strength and to change failure mode.

Con la finalidad de determinar la actitud de los gerentes de la industria camaronera del estado Zulia, hacia el marketing ecológico como filosofía de gestión se realizó una investigación no experimental, transeccional y descriptiva. La población objeto de este estudio estuvo representada por los gerentes o administradores de las empresas camaroneras del estado Zulia registradas en el Instituto Nacional de Pesca (INAPESCA) para el año 2007, para un total de 14 empresas, por lo que se utilizó la población en su totalidad. Se diseñaron y aplicaron dos cuestionarios, los cuales constaban de una serie de preguntas que según su contestación serian dicotómicas y cerradas (Información sobre el Marketing Ecológico IME) y otras en formato Lickert (Actitudes hacia el Marketing Ecológico AME). Para determinar la validez de constructo de los instrumentos se suministraron los cuestionarios a tres (3) expertos, dos (2) en el área de mercadeo ecológico y uno (1) en el área psicología, quienes expresaron su opinión sobre la correspondencia entre ítems y dimensiones. El instrumento "AME" evidenció una validez de 0,75, mientras que el "IME" registro una validez de 0,8. Para determinar la confiabilidad del instrumentos AME, se utilizó el procedimiento alfa de Cronbach, resultando en 0,83. Los resultados indican que los gerentes de la industria camaroneras demostraron una actitud de indiferencia hacia el marketing ecológico, además se determinó que poseen información sobre los conceptos asociados al marketing ecológico y que no existe relación entre el nivel de información que poseen y la actitud demostrada.

With the purpose of determining the manager's attitude of the shrimp industry of Zulia state toward the ecological marketing like management philosophy, one no experimental, transectional and descriptive research was carried out. The managers or administrator of shrimp enterprises of Zulia state registered in the Instituto Nacional de Pesca (INAPESCA) during 2007, represented population studied for 14 enterprises, so, total population was used. Two questionnaires were designed and applied, which had a serie of questions that according to its responses would be dichotomic and closed (Information about the Ecological Marketing IEM) and others in Lickert format (Attitudes toward Ecological Marketing AEM). To determine the instruments validity, two questionnaires were gave to three (3) experts, two (2) in the area of ecological marketing and one (1) in the psichology area, who espressed their opinion about the correspondence between items and dimensions. The "AEM" instrument showed a validity of 0.75, whereas the "IEM" registered a validity of 0.8. In order to determine the AEM instrument reliability, the Cronbach alpha procedure in 0.83 was used. Results showed that managers of shrimp industry exhibit an indifferent attitude toward ecological marketing, besides of determine that they have information about the concepts related to the ecological marketing and that there is no relationship between the information level that they have and their attitude.

An experimental and theoretical study on the inhibition corrosion efficiencies of twenty three compounds in hydrochloric acid (15% w/v) on 13% Cr modified stainless steel (martensitic) has been carried out. This inhibitor set includes amines, thiourea derivatives and acetylenic alcohols. Experimental weight losses at 60ºC were correlated with group and quantum AM1 descriptors obtained from QSPR analysis. Such data, for a large set of molecules, offer a unique opportunity for searching for correlations between inhibition corrosion efficiency and molecular properties. Calculations based on three different statistical methodologies were carried out. The first method, using calibration procedures, employs an ordinary least squares (OLS) methodology with a simple descriptor selection based on R² values. From this procedure, we obtained a model, Y15, having a R² value of 0,979 and a Q² value of 0.786. The second method employs a descriptor selection based on the second-order cross-validation OLS procedure (SOCV-OLS). In this process, the variables are chosen according to their ability to predict molecular inhibition efficiencies. The best model obtained using this methodology, Q5, had R² and Q² values of 0.859 and 0.785, respectively. The third method, based on regular partial least squares (PLS), resulted in R² and Q² values of 0.859 and 0.754, respectively. All calculations were carried out for the weight isoesteric Langmuir adsorption function (WILA function), ln(thetaM/(1-theta )) or ln Kads. A careful comparison between the calibration and the cross-validation descriptor selection indicated that they had very few descriptors in common. This article presents some key equations and the most relevant descriptors. We are unaware of any similar QSPR study on super 13% Cr stainless steel in the literature.

Inibidores de corrosão são largamente utilizados na prevenção de corrosão em operações de estimulação em poços de petróleo. Investigações teóricas e experimentais detalhadas de vinte e três compostos incluindo aminas, derivados de tiouréia e álcoois acetilênicos foram realizadas para estimar a sua eficiência na inibição de corrosão do aço 22% Cr (de estrutura austenítico-ferrítica; duplex) em soluções de ácido clorídrico (15% m/v). Os dados obtidos foram interpretados teoricamente com respeito à análise de regressão (OLS), análise de componentes principais (PCA), predição e análise de regressão parcial (PLS) empregando descritores quânticos e baseados na contribuição de grupos. Em nosso estudo vemos vantagem no uso da função de adsorção de Langmuir isoestérica em peso (WILA), ln(tetaM/(1-teta)) or ln(Kads). Excelentes correlações foram obtidas para a maioria dos modelos e algumas equações, resultados, curvas de calibração e validação estão descritas no texto. O resultado do presente trabalho representa um esforço preliminar no sentido de prover um eficiente método para a estimativa da eficiência da inibição de corrosão, de inibidores arbitrários em vários metais, ligas e tipos de aço.

Corrosion inhibitors have been widely used to prevent corrosion on stimulation operations on petroleum wells. Detailed experimental and theoretical investigation of twenty three different compounds including amines, thiourea derivatives, and acetylenic alcohols were carried out to estimate their inhibition corrosion efficiency on 22% Cr stainless steel (austenitic-ferritic, duplex) in hydrochloric acid (15% m/v) solutions. The obtained data were theoretically interpreted with respect to prediction, regression analysis (OLS), principal analysis component (PCA) and partial regression analysis (PLS) employing quantum and group contribution descriptors. In our study we found advantage in the use of the weight isoesteric Langmuir adsorption function (WILA), ln(thetaM/(1-theta)) or lnKads. Excellent correlations were obtained for most models and few equations, results, calibration and validation plots were discussed in the text. The content of the present work represents a first step toward an efficient estimation of the inhibition corrosion efficiency (ICE) of arbitrary inhibitors towards several metals, alloys and steel types.

Kaposi's sarcoma (KS) became a critical health issue with the emergence of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) in the 1980s. Four clinical-epidemiological forms of KS have been described: classical KS, endemic KS, iatrogenic KS, and AIDS-associated KS. In 1994, Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) or human herpesvirus type 8 was identified by Chang and colleagues, and has been detected worldwide at frequencies ranging from 80 to 100%. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the frequency of KSHV infection in KS lesions from HIV-positive and HIV-negative patients in Brazil, as well as to review the current knowledge about KS transmission and detection. For these purposes, DNA from 51 cases of KS was assessed by PCR: 20 (39.2%) cases of classical KS, 29 (56.9%) of AIDS-associated KS and 2 (3.9%) of iatrogenic KS. Most patients were males (7.5:1, M/F), and mean age was 47.9 years (SD = ± 18.7 years). As expected, HIV-positive KS patients were younger than patients with classical KS. On the other hand, patients with AIDS-associated KS have early lesions (patch and plaque) compared to classical KS patients (predominantly nodular lesions). This is assumed to be the result of the early diagnose of KS in the HIV-positive setting. KSHV infection was detected by PCR in almost all cases (48/51; 94.1%), irrespectively of the clinical-epidemiological form of KS. These results show that KSHV is associated with all forms of KS in Brazilian patients, a fact that supports the role of this virus in KS pathogenesis.
