This paper presents and analyzes the methodology for teaching the concept of entropy supported by a science fiction text. In previous publications, we have presented ways of articulating Ausubel’s Meaningful Learning and Matthew Lipman’s Education theories, the object of his Philosophy Program. We show how this articulation considers the prerogatives of meaningful learning, linking it to higher-order thinking established by research communities and suggesting aggregating methods. As a theoretical-methodological expansion of these references, we transferred the notion of didactic transposition, via science fiction texts, to reinforce these postulates about teaching and cognition. The translational research involved researchers from the field of Physics teaching and 58 second-year high school students from a public institution. In the pedagogical mediation, as a basis for the discussion of the concept of entropy in the Second Law of Thermodynamics, we use one of the most acclaimed short stories by the popular Russian-American author, Isaac Asimov, entitled “The Last Question”. For data analysis, we resorted to techniques of semantic frequency and medium order of evocation as constructs of a taxonomy for the investigation of social representations arising from the implemented proposition. Este artigo apresenta e analisa metodologia para ensino do conceito de entropia suportada por texto de ficção científica. Em publicações anteriores, apresentamos maneiras de articular as teorias da Aprendizagem Significativa de Ausubel e da Educação de Matthew Lipman, objeto de seu Programa de Filosofia. Mostramos como tal articulação considera prerrogativas da aprendizagem significativa, vinculando-a a pensamento de ordem superior estabelecido por comunidades de investigação e sugerindo métodos agregadores. Como ampliação teórico-metodológica desses referenciais, transladamos a noção de transposição didática, via textos de ficção científica, para reforçar esses postulados acerca do ensino e da cognição. A pesquisa translacional envolveu investigadores da área de ensino de Física e 58 estudantes do segundo ano do Ensino Médio de instituição pública. Abstract Male breast cancer (MBC) is a rare malignancy that accounts for about 1.8% of all breast cancer cases. In contrast to the high number of the “omics” studies in breast cancer in women, only recently molecular approaches have been performed in MBC research. High-throughput proteomics based methodologies are promisor strategies to characterize the MBC proteomic signatures and their association with clinico-pathological parameters. In this study, the label-free quantification-mass spectrometry and bioinformatics approaches were applied to analyze the proteomic profiling of a MBC case using the primary breast tumor and the corresponding axillary metastatic lymph nodes and adjacent non-tumor breast tissues. The differentially expressed proteins were identified in the signaling pathways of granzyme B, sirtuins, eIF2, actin cytoskeleton, eNOS, acute phase response and calcium and were connected to the upstream regulators MYC, PI3K SMARCA4 and cancer-related chemical drugs. An additional proteomic comparative analysis was performed with a primary breast tumor of a female patient and revealed an interesting set of proteins, which were mainly involved in cancer biology. Together, our data provide a relevant data source for the MBC research that can help the therapeutic strategies for its management.

BACKGROUND Imitation SWItch (ISWI) ATPase is the catalytic subunit in diverse chromatin remodeling complexes. These complexes modify histone-DNA interactions and therefore play a pivotal role in different DNA-dependent processes. In Trypanosoma cruzi, a protozoan that controls gene expression principally post-transcriptionally, the transcriptional regulation mechanisms mediated by chromatin remodeling are poorly understood. OBJECTIVE To characterise the ISWI remodeler in T. cruzi (TcISWI). METHODS A new version of pTcGW vectors was constructed to express green fluorescent protein (GFP)-tagged TcISWI. CRISPR-Cas9 system was used to obtain parasites with inactivated TcISWI gene and we determined TcISWI partners by cryomilling-affinity purification-mass spectrometry (MS) assay as an approximation to start to unravel the function of this protein. FINDINGS Our approach identified known ISWI partners [nucleoplasmin-like protein (NLP), regulator of chromosome condensation 1-like protein (RCCP) and phenylalanine/tyrosine-rich protein (FYRP)], previously characterised in T. brucei, and new components in TcISWI complex [DRBD2, DHH1 and proteins containing a domain characteristic of structural maintenance of chromosomes (SMC) proteins]. MAIN CONCLUSIONS In addition to its participation in transcriptional silencing, as it was reported in T. brucei, the data generated here provide a framework that suggests a role for TcISWI chromatin remodeler in different nuclear processes in T. cruzi, including mRNA nuclear export control and chromatin compaction. Further work is necessary to clarify the TcISWI functional diversity that arises from this protein interaction study.

The functional characterisation of thousands of Trypanosoma cruzi genes remains a challenge. Reverse genetics approaches compatible with high-throughput cloning strategies can provide the tool needed to tackle this challenge. We previously published the pTcGW platform, composed by plasmid vectors carrying different options of N-terminal fusion tags based on Gateway® technology. Here, we present an improved 1.1 version of pTcGW vectors, which is characterised by a fully flexible structure allowing an easy customisation of each element of the vectors in a single cloning step. Additionally, both N and C-terminal fusions are available with new tag options for protein complexes purification. Three of the newly created vectors were successfully used to determine the cellular localisation of four T. cruzi proteins. The 1.1 version of pTcGW platform can be used in a variety of assays, such as protein overexpression, identification of protein-protein interaction and protein localisation. This powerful and versatile tool allows adding valuable functional information to T. cruzi genes and is freely available for scientific community.

Resumo: Este trabalho tem como objetivo compreender o processo de mudanças no discurso de um grupo de professoras de ciências do ensino fundamental que participaram de um curso de formação continuada. Ao analisar nossos dados foi possível identificar quatro etapas: a primeira, caracterizou-se por uma situação marcada por uma queixa generalizada; a segunda, pela necessidade de capacitação pelas professoras e a superação das deficiências de conteúdo decorrentes da precária formação no magistério; a terceira, por uma ênfase nos aspectos metodológicos das atividades de ensino e; a quarta, por um engajamento e uma postura mais reflexiva. Para interpretar nossos resultados utilizamos um esquema heurístico de orientação psicanalítica, denominado captura por discursos. Entre as principais conclusões podemos destacar que para que haja mudança do discurso da queixa para a reflexão o professor deve deslocar-se da castração imaginária para a castração simbólica, abandonando sua posição de impotência e resgatando sua autoridade perdida.

Abstract: This work has as objective to analyze the speeches of a group of teachers of basic education. When analyzing our data were possible to identify four stages: the first one, was characterized for a situation marked for a generalized complaint; second, for the necessity of qualification for the teachers and the overcoming of the decurrent deficiencies of content of the precarious formation in the teaching; third, for an emphasis in the methodological aspects of the activities of education e; fourth, for an enrollment and a new reflexive position. To interpret our results we use a heuristical project of psychoanalytical orientation, called capture for speeches. Among the main conclusions we can detach that so that has change of the speech of the complaint for the reflection the professor must dislocate itself from the imaginary castration for the symbolic castration, abandoning its position of impotence and rescuing its lost authority.

Ten new species of Apenesia Westwood, 1874, from Brazil, Acre, are described and illustrated. They belong, respectively, to the following species-groups: nitida group, Apenesia lobata sp. nov., A. serrulata sp. nov. and A. subangulata sp. nov.; laevigata group, A. ocullata sp. nov. and A. rostrum sp. nov.; columbana group, A. apicilata sp. nov.; mexicana group, A. triapicalis sp. nov.; brasiliensis group, A. megaventris sp. nov., A. ventosa sp. nov. and A. triangula sp. nov. New geographical records and some morphological data on A. funebris Evans, 1963, A. nitida (Kieffer, 1910) and A. truncaticeps (Kieffer, 1910) are added.
