Resumo A partir da definição do International Height Reference System (IHRS) no espaço do geopotencial (Resolução 1/2015 - International Association of Geodesy - IAG), a comunidade geodésica internacional tem entre seus principais objetivos a materialização do IHRS em todo o globo. Para tanto, um dos aspectos fundamentais é a determinação da discrepância de cada datum vertical nacional em relação ao IHRS. No presente trabalho estabelecemos a relação entre o Datum Vertical Equatoriano (DVE) e o IHRS, no espaço do geopotencial, seguindo aos pressupostos da Resolução 1/2015 da IAG. Dados gravimétricos, altitudes oriundas da Rede de Nivelamento Fundamental de Equador, Modelos Globais de Geopotencial e Modelos Digitais de Altitude foram utilizados nos cálculos. A modelagem do geopotencial na região de estudo (4° x 4° com centro no marégrafo La Libertad - Equador) foi realizada mediante o método de Colocação por Mínimos Quadrados, funções de covariância empíricas e técnicas de decomposição espectral. Assim, foi efetivada a solução livre do Problema de Valor de Contorno da Geodesia no DVE de forma a determinar a sua discrepância com o IHRS. Um offset de aproximadamente 29 cm ±3 cm foi estimado para a relação W 0 - W 0 i quando utilizado o modelo GO_CONS_GCF_2_DIR_R5 na modelagem dos médios e longos comprimentos de onda do campo de gravidade terrestre, e de aproximadamente 43 cm ±3 cm quando utilizado o EIGEN6C4.

Abstract Considering the definition of the International Height Reference System (IHRS) in the geopotential space (Resolution 1/2015, International Association of Geodesy - IAG), among the present main objectives of the international geodetic community is the materialization of IHRS around the world. One fundamental task for this is the offset determination of each national vertical datum related to the IHRS. In this manuscript we establish the relationship between the Ecuadorian Vertical Datum (EVD) and the IHRS in the geopotential space following the foundations of the Resolution 1/2015 IAG. Gravity data, heights from the Ecuadorian Fundamental Vertical Network, Global Geopotential Models and Digital Elevation Models were used in the computations. Based on the Least Squares Collocation method, empirical covariance functions and spectral decomposition techniques, we realized the modelling of the geopotential in the study region (4° x 4° centered in the La Libertad tide gauge, Ecuador). Based on the referred approaches, we solved the free Geodetic Boundary Value Problem for determining the discrepancy of the EVD related to the IHRS. An offset of approximately 29 cm ± 3 cm was estimated for the W 0 - W 0 i relation when the GO_CONS_GCF_2_DIR_R5 model was used in the modeling of the medium and long wavelengths of the terrestrial gravity field, and approximately 43 cm ± 3 cm when the EIGEN6C4 model was used.

A técnica de Colocação tem sido bastante aplicada em Geodésia para estimação do campo da gravidade da Terra em ambos os aspectos, isto é, localmente e globalmente. Particularmente, este é o método geodésico padrão usado para combinar todos os dados disponíveis para se obter uma estimativa integrada de qualquer anomalia potencial T. A principal característica do método é a definição da função covariância dos dados. Diversas funções covariância tem sido propostas na literatura, juntamente, com o software relacionado. Neste trabalho, um novo método para determinar funções covariância é proposto. O problema de ajustamento da covariância é reduzido para um problema de otimização em programação linear e solucionado pelo método conhecido como Simplex. O método proposto foi implementado em linguagem de programação FORTRAN95 e foi testado com dados simulados e reais. Os resultados obtidos mostraram que o método proposto é uma potente ferramenta para estimação de modelos da função covariância e pode ser empregado em técnicas de Colocação

Collocation has been widely applied in geodesy for estimating the gravity field of the Earth both locally and globally. Particularly, this is the standard geodetic method used to combine all the available data to get an integrated estimate of any functional of the anomalous potential T. The key point of the method is the definition of proper covariance functions of the data. Covariance function models have been proposed by many authors together with the related software. In this paper a new method for finding suitable covariance models has been devised. The covariance fitting problem is reduced to an optimization problem in Linear Programming and solved by using the Simplex Method. The procedure has been implemented in a FORTRAN95 software and has been tested on simulated and real data sets. These first tests proved that the proposed method is a reliable tool for estimating proper covariance function models to be used in the collocation procedure

O objetivo deste artigo é calcular e avaliar o modelo geoidal no Estado de São Paulo a partir de duas metodologias (a integral de Stokes por meio da Transformada Rápida de Fourier - FFT e a Colocação por Mínimos Quadrados - LSC). Outro objetivo deste estudo é verificar a potencialidade dos modelos baseados no satélite GOCE. Uma atenção especial é dada à missão GOCE. A teoria relacionada à integral de Stokes e a LSC também é discutida nesse trabalho. A decomposição espectral foi empregada no cálculo dos modelos geoidais e os longos comprimentos de onda foram representados pelo EGM2008 até grau e ordem 150 e 360 e pelos modelos do GOCE até 150.Os modelos foram comparados em termos de resíduo da altura geoidal e de comparações absolutas e relativas a partir de pontos GPS sobre nivelamento, sendo que os resultados mostram consistência entre si. O modelo geoidal no Estado de São Paulo tem uma consistência de 0,20 m em relação aos pontos GPS sobre nivelamento. Uma comparação na região montanhosa também foi realizada para verificar o comportamento das metodologias naquela região; os resultados mostraram que a LSC é menos consistente do que a FFT.

The purpose of this manuscript is to compute and to evaluate the geoid model in the State of São Paulo from two methodologies (Stokes' integral through the Fast Fourier Transform - FFT and Least Squares Collocation - LSC). Another objective of this study is to verify the potentiality of GOCE-based. A special attention is given to GOCE mission. The theory related to Stokes' integral and Least Squares Collocation is also discussed in this work. The spectral decomposition was employed in the geoid models computation and the long wavelength component was represented by EGM2008 up to degree and order 150 and 360 and GOCE-based models up to 150. The models were compared in terms of geoid height residual and absolute and relative comparisons from GPS/leveling and the results show consistency between them. In addition, a comparison in the mountain regions was carried out to verify the methodologies behavior in this area; the results showed that LSC is less consistent than FFT.
