RESUMO: O modelo conceitual Matching, Person & Technology (MPT) propõe uma abordagem centrada no usuário e no ambiente para prescrição de tecnologia assistiva, por meio de instrumentos padronizados, para facilitar o processo de correspondência entre usuário e tecnologia. O estudo teve como objetivo traduzir e adaptar culturalmente para o Português do Brasil os instrumentos Initial Worksheet for the Matching Person & Technology Process; History of Support e Healthcare Technology Device Predisposition Assessment - HCT PA que compõem o modelo MPT. O estudo contou com a participação de dois tradutores juramentados, três pesquisadores cujo idioma nativo era o português e tinham fluência em inglês com domínio na área de tecnologia assistiva, um tradutor cujo idioma nativo era o inglês e tinha fluência em português, o coordenador do projeto, a autora do instrumento original, cinco juízes com experiência na área de tecnologia assistiva e Mestrado ou Doutorado em Educação com ênfase em Educação Especial e seis profissionais da educação e saúde com experiência no fornecimento de tecnologia assistiva para pessoas com deficiência. A pesquisa foi dividida em 5 etapas, sendo elas: 1) tradução do instrumento; 2) tradução conciliada; 3) retrotradução; 4) análise de equivalência dos itens e adequação do instrumento; e 5) pré-teste. Os resultados indicaram um alto índice de concordância entre os participantes e uma boa equivalência cultural dos instrumentos. Conclui-se que as versões em português do Brasil dos instrumentos têm uma boa aceitabilidade e são adequados para serem utilizados para a prescrição de tecnologia para usuários brasileiros.

ABSTRACT: The Matching, Person & Technology (MPT) conceptual model proposes a user-centered, environment-oriented approach for prescription of Assistive Technology, by means of standardized instruments, in order to facilitate the process of correspondence between user and technology. The aim of the study was to translate and adapt culturally to the Portuguese of Brazil the Initial Worksheet for the Matching Person & Technology Process; History of Support and Healthcare Technology Device Predisposition Assessment - HCT PA that make up the MPT model. The study was attended by two sworn translators, three researchers whose native language was Portuguese and had fluency in English with an area of Assistive Technology, a translator whose native language was English and had fluency in Portuguese and the coordinator of the project, the author of the original instrument, five judges with experience in the area of Assistive Technology and Master’s or PhD in Education with an emphasis on Special Education and six health and education professionals with experience in dispensing Assistive Technology for people with disabilities. The research was divided into 5 stages: 1) translation of the instrument, 2) reconciled translation, 3) back translation, 4) equivalence of item analysis and adequacy of the instrument, and 5) pre-test. The results indicated a high index of agreement among the participants and a good cultural equivalence of the instruments. It is concluded that the Portuguese of Brazil versions of the instruments have a good acceptability and are suitable to be used for the prescription of technology for Brazilian users.

RESUMO Objetivo: avaliar a eficácia de uso de diferentes dispositivos de entrada para o acesso ao computador por crianças e adolescentes com paralisia cerebral e verificar a relação do desempenho com a idade e o nível de classificação motora. Métodos: participaram do estudo 14 crianças e adolescentes com paralisia cerebral, com idade entre 6 e 14 anos, com níveis na Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) e na Manual Ability Classification System (MACS) de I a V. Foi verificado o desempenho dos participantes durante o uso de tela sensível ao toque, mouse convencional e mouse ocular, para realizar tarefas específicas com os softwares: o Discrete Aiming Task 2.0, o Tracking Task 2.0 e o Single Switch Performance Test (SSPT) 1.0 Foram analisadas as variáveis: tempo de resposta; frequência de erros; tempo médio para acionamento dos dispositivos de entrada, relação entre satisfação com os dispositivos de entrada e o nível de habilidade motora. Resultados: indicaram diferenças significantes no tempo de resposta; na frequência de erros; e no tempo médio para acionamento dependendo do dispositivo de entrada usado, e haver correlação entre o nível de habilidade motora e a satisfação de uso do dispositivo e entre o nível de habilidade manual e a satisfação com o mouse. Conclusão: o mouse ocular e a tela sensível ao toque foram os dispositivos mais eficazes durante a execução das tarefas no computador pelos participantes do estudo.

ABSTRACT Objective: to assess the effectiveness of using different input devices for computer access by children and adolescents with cerebral palsy and to verify the relationship of performance with age and level of motor classification. Methods: the study included 14 children and adolescents with cerebral palsy, aged 6 to 14 years, with Gross Motor Function Classification System (GMFCS) and Manual Ability Classification System (MACS) levels from I to V. The participants’ performance was observed during the use of touch screen, conventional mouse and eye tracking mouse in performing specific tasks with softwares Discrete Aiming Task 2.0, Tracking Task 2.0 and Single Switch Performance Test (SSPT) 1.0. The following variables were analyzed: response time, frequency of errors, mean time to activate input devices, relationship between satisfaction with input devices and motor skill level. Results: results indicated significant differences in response time, frequency of errors, and triggering mean time depending on the input device used, and correlation between the motor ability level and satisfaction, using the device, and between the level of manual ability and satisfaction with the mouse. Conclusion: the eye tracking mouse and the touch screen were the most effective devices during the execution of tasks on the computer by study participants.

RESUMO: Uma postura sentada adequada, principalmente quando se trata de alunos com paralisia cerebral, parece favorecer uma melhora funcional de membros superiores e, consequentemente, uma melhora no desempenho motor durante as atividades escolares e na aprendizagem. Nesse contexto, este estudo teve como objetivo verificar a influência do mobiliário na destreza manual da criança com paralisia cerebral durante uma atividade de traçado. Participaram seis alunos com diagnóstico de paralisia cerebral. Para a coleta de dados, os participantes foram posicionados em mobiliário adaptado e realizaram uma atividade previamente elaborada de traçado. Essa atividade foi repetida 10 vezes em cada mobiliário utilizado: 1) no mobiliário sem adequação inicial (SAI); 2) no mobiliário com adequação (CA); e 3) novamente no mobiliário sem adequação final (SAF). A análise do traçado foi realizada por meio do programa MovAlyzeR 6.1. Para a análise dos dados, foi realizada a média do desempenho para cada variável em cada mobiliário utilizado. Em seguida, os dados foram tratados estatisticamente e analisadas as variáveis: pico de velocidade vertical, pico de aceleração vertical, jerk, stroke, tempo de execução da atividade, pressão da caneta no papel, erro linear e tamanho absoluto da atividade de traçado. Os resultados indicaram que todos os participantes apresentaram dificuldades na realização do traçado; no entanto, o mobiliário adequado às necessidades do usuário influenciou nas variáveis pico de velocidade vertical e tempo de execução da atividade. Conclui-se que o mobiliário adequado pode influenciar na destreza manual de alunos com paralisia cerebral.

ABSTRACT: A proper sitting posture, especially when it comes to students with cerebral palsy, seems to favor a functional improvement of upper limbs and, consequently, an improvement in motor performance during school activities and learning. In this context, the aim of this study was to verify the influence of furniture on the manual dexterity of the child with cerebral palsy during a tracing activity. Six students with a diagnosis of cerebral palsy participated in the study. For data collection the participants were positioned in adapted furniture and performed a previously elaborated tracing activity. This activity was repeated 10 times on each item of furniture used: 1) on furniture without initial adjustment (WIA); 2) on furniture with adjustment (WA); and 3) again on furniture without final adjustment (WFA). The tracing analysis was performed by using the MovAlyzeR 6.1 software. For the analysis of the data, the average of the performance for each variable in each item of furniture used was conducted. The data was then treated statistically and the variables analyzed: vertical velocity peak, vertical acceleration peak, jerk, stroke, activity execution time, pen pressure on paper, linear error and absolute size of the tracing activity. The results indicated that all participants presented difficulties in performing the tracing, however, the furniture adapted to the needs of the user influenced the variables vertical velocity peak and activity execution time. It is concluded that adequate furniture may influence the manual dexterity of students with cerebral palsy.

RESUMO: o uso de um tamanho e de uma disposição adequada de uma figura de comunicação alternativa tem sido dúvida frequente entre os professores e profissionais especializados que lidam com crianças com paralisia cerebral. Este estudo, portanto, teve como intuito verificar a opinião de profissionais que trabalham com comunicação alternativa em relação à adequação do tamanho e disposição de figuras de comunicação para crianças com paralisia cerebral. Para tanto, participaram seis profissionais com experiência em comunicação alternativa. Foi realizada uma entrevista semiestruturada. Os dados foram analisados por meio da análise de conteúdo. Foram identificadas três categorias e 11 subcategorias. A pesquisa permitiu identificar que não existe um tamanho padrão de figuras utilizadas na comunicação alternativa; a seleção do tamanho ideal das figuras e da melhor disposição é realizada por tentativa e erro e os participantes não conhecem um instrumento ou protocolo para esse fim; durante seleção do tamanho ideal de figura, são utilizados três tamanhos: pequeno, médio e grande; a melhor posição e a mais comumente utilizada é a central, na mesma ou um pouco acima da linha dos olhos; a pior posição e a menos usada é abaixo da linha dos olhos; a disposição das figuras na horizontal é a mais comumente usada.

ABSTRACT: The use of adequate size and position of the alternative communication picture has been a frequent doubt among teachers and specialized professionals who work with children with cerebral palsy. This study therefore aimed to verify the opinion of professionals working with alternative communication regarding the adequacy of the size and layout of communication pictures for children with cerebral palsy. Six expert professionals in alternative communication participated in this study. A semi-structured interview was conducted. Data were analyzed using content analysis. Three categories and 11 subcategories were identified. The research identified that there is no standard size for pictures used in alternative communication; the selection of the ideal size of the pictures and the best layout are carried out by trial and error and there is no instrument or protocol for this purpose; to select the ideal size for the picture, three sizes are used: small, medium and large; the best position and the most commonly used is the center, in the same or above the eyes line; the worst position and the least used is below the eyes line; the horizontal arrangement of pictures is the most commonly used.

<p>O presente estudo teve por objetivo avaliar os resultados de intervenções com uso da Realidade Virtual perante as necessidades psicomotoras de uma criança com Síndrome de Down (SD). Para tanto, foram utilizados como instrumento de avaliação a Escala de Desenvolvimento Motor na forma de teste pré e pós-intervenção e como recurso de intervenção o videogame Xbox 360 com sensor kinect. Os resultados alcançados após 20 sessões de intervenção revelaram uma melhora nas habilidades de motricidade global, equilíbrio, esquema corporal e organização espacial, entretanto o desenvolvimento da motricidade fina e linguagem/organização temporal se mantiveram estáveis. Todas estas seis áreas básicas da motricidade humana são fundamentais para o processo de alfabetização e, consequentemente, para o ensino e aprendizagem de conteúdos escolares. As intervenções clínicas realizadas com o uso da Realidade Virtual, em uma abordagem na interface saúde e educação, contribuíram para o desenvolvimento psicomotor do participante da pesquisa, podendo-se inferir sobre os desdobramentos do aperfeiçoamento destas habilidades e seus respectivos benefícios para o desempenho escolar, sobretudo nas atividades de leitura e escrita.</p>

<p>This study aimed to assess the results of Virtual Reality interventions in treating psychomotor needs of a child with Down Syndrome (DS). The evaluation instrument was the Motor Development Scale, used as a pre-intervention and post-intervention test. An Xbox 360 game console with kinect sensor was used as an intervention resource. The results after 20 intervention sessions showed an improvement in overall motor skills, balance, body schema and spatial organization, however the development of fine motor skills and language / temporal organization remained stable. All these six basic areas of human motricity are fundamental to the process of literacy and consequently for learning school subjects. Clinical intervention using Virtual Reality as a health and education approach contributed to the psychomotor development of participants and enabled inferences about the consequences of the improvement of these skills and their benefits to school performance, especially in reading and writing activities.</p>

Em um ambiente escolar e terapêutico foram observadas dificuldades, em posicionar alunos com paralisia cerebral quadriplégica espástica, com um modelo tradicional de prancha existente no mercado. Sendo assim, estes alunos não tinham acesso adequado e não eram incluídos às atividades desenvolvidas naquele ambiente, por falta de um mobiliário de posicionamento adequado. Por isso, foi desenvolvida uma prancha ortostática a fim de favorecer a participação dos alunos nas atividades. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a efetividade de uso de uma prancha ortostática para o aluno com paralisia cerebral, por meio da opinião de profissionais da educação e da saúde. Os participantes foram quatro profissionais da Educação e da Saúde que atendiam alunos com paralisia cerebral. Foram realizadas entrevistas semiestruturadas com os participantes. O áudio das entrevistas foi transcrito na íntegra e, em seguida, procedeu-se à análise do conteúdo. Identificou-se um grande tema, Avaliação, e cinco subtemas: 1) Benefícios da prancha; 2) Segurança da prancha; 3) Manuseio da prancha; 4) Interações do aluno e 5) Modificações na prancha. Os resultados desta etapa indicaram que, segundo a opinião dos profissionais, a prancha: 1) proporcionou benefícios para os alunos e participantes; 2) é segura para o perfil de aluno selecionado; 3) é difícil de manusear; 4) favoreceu a atenção, comunicação, posicionamento e movimentação de cabeça dos alunos e 5) há necessidade de algumas modificações.

Among the resources available in Assistive Technology for postural orthostatic positioning for students with cerebral palsy who cannot maintain an orthostatic position, the orthostatic board is available to help them. In a school and therapeutic environment, difficulties were reported in positioning students with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy using the traditional model that is available on the market. For lack of the necessary equipment to help position the students, they were hampered as to access, and were not included in some of the activities performed in that environment. As a result, an orthostatic board was developed, in order to enable the students to participate in various activities. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of using an orthostatic board for a student with cerebral palsy, by means of gathering the opinions of health and education professionals. The participants were four Education and Health professionals that work with students with cerebral palsy. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with those participants. The audio section recorded in the interviews was fully transcribed, and the content was then analyzed. The main theme was identified as Assessment, and five sub-themes were identified as: 1) Benefits of the board, 2) Board safety, 3) Handling; 4) Student interactions and 5) Modifications to the board. The results of this phase indicated that in the opinion of the professionals, the board: 1) provided benefits for students and participants, 2) was safe for the selected student profile, 3) was difficult to handle, 4) enabled promotion of attention, communication, positioning and movement of the heads of students and 5) required some modifications.

O objetivo deste estudo foi o de analisar as propriedades físicas modificadas de um recurso pedagógico para facilitação do manuseio de uma criança com paralisia cerebral do tipo discinética. O participante do estudo foi uma criança com paralisia cerebral do tipo discinética com idade de seis anos e matriculada na rede regular de ensino da educação infantil. O recurso pedagógico escolhido foi um jogo de encaixe, em que as propriedades físicas de peso, tamanho e textura foram modificadas. A análise foi feita em relação à qualidade do movimento do membro superior para as variáveis: índice de retidão, deslocamento escalar (s), velocidade média (Vm) e tempo (t). Os resultados evidenciaram que a combinação entre tamanho grande e peso pesado não se mostrou satisfatória, desde a ação de preensão do recurso pedagógico, até o ato de encaixe. Também houve inconsistência nas respostas obtidas nas ações de crianças com paralisia cerebral. Há uma variação nos resultados, sem que ocorra um padrão a ser estabelecido. Desta forma, o presente estudo contribuiu para a compreensão das respostas motoras de uma criança com paralisia cerebral do tipo discinética quando submetida à atividade de encaixe com recursos pedagógicos em que as propriedades físicas foram modificadas.

The main purpose of this study was to analyze the modified physical properties of an educational resource for facilitating the handling of a child with dyskinetic cerebral palsy. The participant of the study was a six year old child with dyskinetic cerebral palsy enrolled in a regular early childhood education classroom. The educational resource that was selected was a brick game, in which the physical properties of weight, size and texture had been modified. The analysis was made regarding the quality of upper limb movement to the variables: righting index, scalar displacement (s), average speed (As) and time (t). The results showed that combined large size and heavy weight did not have a satisfactory outcome, affecting both grasping the educational resource and fitting. There was also inconsistency in children with cerebral palsy's responses. There is variation in the results, though a standard cannot be established. Thus, this study contributed to understanding the motor responses of a child with dyskinetic cerebral palsy when participating in a fitting activity with educational resources in which the physical properties had been modified.

A qualidade de vida de cuidadores é algo que preocupa, pois afeta diretamente a qualidade de vida do indivíduo dependente desses cuidados. Este estudo teve como objetivo analisar e comparar a qualidade de vida em saúde de cuidadores de pessoas com necessidades especiais em atendimento em uma instituição de reabilitação. Participaram 90 cuidadores principais de pessoas com necessidades especiais em atendimento em uma instituição de reabilitação. Foram utilizados para a coleta de dados dois instrumentos: um questionário para verificar o perfil do cuidador e da pessoa com necessidades especiais e o questionário de medida de qualidade de vida WHOQOL-Bref. Os resultados demonstraram que houve significância, apenas, entre a qualidade de vida do cuidador no domínio físico e a idade da pessoa com necessidade especial, indicando que quanto mais velha a pessoa com necessidades especiais, mais difícil e penoso é o ato de cuidar. Os resultados podem indicar formas de orientação à família de pessoas com deficiência.

The quality of life of caregivers is a concern because it directly affects the quality of life of individuals dependent on such care. This study aimed to analyze and compare the quality of life in health of caregivers of people with special needs who attend a rehabilitation facility. Ninety caregivers of people with special needs who attend a rehabilitation facility participated in this study. For data collection two instruments were used: a questionnaire to determine the profile of the caregiver and the person with special needs and the WHOQOL-Bref questionnaire to measure quality of life. The results were significant only between the caregiver's quality of life in the physical domain and age of the person with special needs, indicating that the older a person with special needs, the more difficult and arduous is the act of caring. The result can indicate guidelines for caring for families of people with disabilities.

O presente estudo analisou, por meio de um sistema de baropodometria, os tipos de pé, a influência da visão no equilíbrio estático na postura ortostática e a distribuição da pressão plantar em 16 crianças, de 6 a 15 anos, com diagnóstico de paralisia cerebral. Os resultados indicaram que o pé valgo foi o mais comum dentre os tipos de paralisia cerebral estudadas, diparesia espástica, hemiparesia espástica direita, hemiparesia espástica esquerda e ataxia; o equilíbrio estático na postura ortostática de olhos vendados apresentou maior instabilidade do que quando com os olhos abertos; a distribuição de pressão plantar não apresentou significância estatística e não houve correlação significativa entre a idade e as variáveis de equilíbrio e de distribuição da pressão plantar. Desse modo, conclui-se que a visão é um fator importante no controle postural de crianças com paralisia cerebral.

The present study analyzed through baropodometry system, the feet's types, the vision's influence during static balance on orthostatic posture and the plantar pressure distribution in 16 children, aged from 6 to 15 years-old with diagnostic of cerebral palsy. We noted that the valgus foot was more common on the sample studied, diparetic spastic, hemiparetic spastic right, and hemiparetic spastic left and ataxic; the static balance on orthostatic posture with closed eyes was more instable compared to the orthostatic posture with opened eyes. In relation to the distribution of plantar pressure, we did not observe statistical significance and there was no correlation between age and the balance's variables and the plantar pressure's distribution. Therefore, we concluded that the vision is an important factor on postural control in children with cerebral palsy.

INTRODUÇÃO: Diversos estudos disponibilizam evidências sobre características do desempenho motor e cognitivo de indivíduos com Síndrome de Down (SD), porém poucos estudos analisam a força muscular nestes indivíduos. As alterações apresentadas por indivíduos com SD podem manifestar-se funcionalmente e interferir na sua capacidade de desempenhar de forma independente diversas atividades e tarefas da rotina diária. OBJETIVO: O presente estudo teve como objetivo analisar a influência da textura do objeto na força de preensão palmar em indivíduos com Síndrome de Down. Participaram do estudo dez indivíduos com SD, com idade entre 4 e 30 anos. MÉTODO: A análise da força de preensão palmar foi mensurada por meio de um transdutor de força. A tarefa proposta para a coleta dos dados foi realizar a preensão do transdutor, revestido com diferentes texturas, transportá-lo até um ponto previamente demarcado, e posteriormente o retorno à posição inicial. Os dados obtidos foram analisados por meio de estatística descritiva e não-paramétrica. RESULTADOS: Os dados da estatística descritiva permitiram observar que a textura áspera foi a que exigiu menor força de preensão palmar dos participantes neste estudo, no entanto a análise não-paramétrica indicou não haver diferença estatisticamente significativa. CONCLUSÃO: Os resultados deste estudo indicam que textura do objeto não influenciou a força de preensão palmar executada pelos indivíduos com Síndrome de Down.

INTRODUCTION: Many studies show evidences about characteristics of the motor and cognitive performance of subjects with Down Syndrome (DS). However, there is lack of studies that analyze the muscular force in these individuals. The alterations found in subjects with DS can impair their function and interfere in the capacity of the subjects to perform many activities and tasks of the daily routine independently. OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to analyze the influence of object's texture on grip force in subjects with DS. Ten individuals with diagnosis of DS were selected, with age between 4 and 30 years. METHODS: The grip force was measured with a transducer with two different textures. The proposed task for data collection was to hold the transducer, covered with two different textures, and carry it until a point previously demarcated, and later return it to the initial position. The data were analyzed through descriptive and nonparametric statistics. RESULTS: It was possible to observe that the rough texture was the one that demanded minor amount of grip force; however the nonparametric analysis indicated that there was no significant difference in grip force among textures. CONCLUSION: The results of this study indicated that the object's texture did not influence the grip force carried out by individuals with DS.

O estudo teve o propósito de verificar a influência da textura do recurso pedagógico no tempo despendido e no índice de retidão para execução de uma atividade de encaixe realizada por indivíduos com paralisia cerebral. Participaram do estudo 6 alunos com sequelas de paralisia cerebral do tipo espástica, com idade entre 7 anos e 8 meses e 28 anos e 1 mês. O participante deveria segurar o objeto e levá-lo a um ponto demarcado previamente para o encaixe e, após, retorná-lo à posição inicial. O objeto foi apresentado nas texturas lisa, intermediária e áspera, de forma aleatória. Para a coleta de dados, foi utilizada filmagem para posterior leitura pelo programa Kavideo, que possibilitou cálculos para observar o tempo despendido na tarefa e o índice de retidão. Foi realizado o estudo da normalidade das distribuições, verificada por meio do teste de normalidade de Kolmogorov-Smirnov (Teste KS) e a comparação entre as texturas lisa, intermediária e áspera, no movimento de encaixe, por meio da análise de variância de medidas repetidas. Adotou-se para todos os testes nível de significância de 5% de probabilidade para a rejeição da hipótese de normalidade. O resultado do teste de análise de variância de medidas repetidas mostrou que não houve significância para as variáveis estudadas com o recurso apresentado nas três texturas. Porém, os dados da estatística descritiva mostraram que o encaixe do recurso com a textura lisa despendeu um menor tempo para execução da tarefa e, também, determinou um melhor desempenho com relação à trajetória do movimento.

The study aimed to verify how the texture of a pedagogic resource influenced the time individuals with cerebral palsy took fitting the correct piece in a puzzle. Six students with spastic type sequelae between the ages of 7 years and 8 months and 28 years and 1 month participated in the study The participants were expected to hold the puzzle piece and take it to the previously marked spot where it fit, and then take it back to its original position. The object was randomly presented in three textures: smooth, intermediate and rough. The data collected was filmed and later processed using the Kavideo program which enabled the researchers to calculate the time spent in the task and the index of correct responses. The study of normality distribution was conducted and verified using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality (KS Tests) and fitting movements were compared for smooth, intermediate and rough textures through variance analysis of repeated measures. For all tests a 5% rejection probability rate was adopted as a significant level for the normality hypothesis. The results of the variance analysis of repeated measures test showed that there was no statistical significance for the variables studied with the resource presented in the three textures. However, descriptive statistics data showed that less time was spent fitting the piece that had smooth texture during task performance and it also determined better performance related to the path of movement.

Objetivou-se com esse estudo identificar o perfil de professores de ensino regular da cidade de Marília que tinham alunos com deficiências matriculados em suas salas de aula, bem como o perfil da clientela atendida por estes professores. Participaram do estudo 68 professores da cidade de Marília - SP que tinham alunos com deficiência matriculados em suas salas. O instrumento de coleta de dados utilizado foi um questionário contendo 13 questões divididas em 2 partes: 1) identificação dos participantes e 2) identificação dos alunos com deficiência. Os dados colhidos nos questionários foram submetidos à análise da freqüência absoluta e relativa. Foram identificadas 10 categorias. De acordo com os resultados dessa pesquisa, concluiu-se que a inserção do aluno com deficiência no ensino regular ocorre com a modificação da formação que favorece ao profissional o conhecimento e a compreensão das distintas formas de aprendizagem do seu alunado, a fim de estruturar sua própria prática pedagógica para atender, com qualidade, a diversidade.

The aim of this study was to identify the profile of regular school teachers of Marília-SP, who have students with disabilities registered in their classrooms, as well as to identify the clientele these teachers were working with. Sixty eight teachers participated in the study in the city of Marília - SP, all of whom had students with disabilities in their classrooms. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire with 13 questions divided in 2 parts: 1) identification of participants and 2) identification of students with disabilities. The data was submitted to analysis of absolute and relative frequency. Ten categories were identified. We were able to conclude, based on the results of the study, that the inclusion of students with disabilities in regular school occurs due to changes in teacher development that enable professionals to acquire knowledge and understanding of the distinct ways in which their students learn. Such knowledge helps them to be better structure their pedagogical practice so as to answer to student diversity with quality teaching.

Este estudo teve como objetivo verificar a influência da flexibilidade da superfície de assento da cadeira na velocidade e no tempo despendido por alunos com paralisia cerebral espástica durante a execução de uma tarefa de manuseio de um objeto na posição sentada. Participaram do estudo 11 alunos, de ambos os gêneros, com diagnóstico de paralisia cerebral espástica, que tinham algum controle de tronco e membros superiores. A quantificação da análise cinemática foi realizada em duas situações experimentais: 1) execução de uma tarefa acadêmica de encaixe, com o indivíduo posicionado em um mobiliário adaptado com assento de lona; 2) execução de uma tarefa acadêmica de encaixe, com o participante posicionado em um mobiliário adaptado com assento de madeira. Os dados obtidos foram submetidos à análise estatística descritiva e não-paramétrica por meio do teste de Wilcoxon. Os resultados indicaram que: 1) a velocidade média de execução das tarefas não foi influenciada pelo tipo de assento utilizado 2) o tempo de execução da tarefa foi influenciada pelo tipo de assento utilizado. A utilização do assento de lona aumentou o tempo de realização da tarefa. Conclui-se que o assento de um mobiliário escolar para um aluno com paralisia cerebral espástica não deve ser confeccionado com um material muito flexível. Este tipo de assento fornecerá uma base instável que dificultará o desempenho do aluno durante atividades realizadas com os membros superiores.

The objective of this study was to verify the influence of the flexibility of the seat surface of a chair on the speed and time expended by students with spastic cerebral palsy during the performance of a task involving the manipulation an object while in a seated position. Eleven students of both genders participated in the study; all were diagnosed with spastic cerebral palsy, and all had some control of trunk and upper limbs. The quantification of the kinematics analysis was done through two experimental situations: 1) performance of an academic task involving fitting blocks into matching holes, with the individual seated in an adapted seat with canvas seat surface; 2) performance of an academic task involving fitting blocks into matching holes, with the participant seated in an adapted seat with wooden seat surface. The data collected was submitted to descriptive analysis and non-parametric statistics using the Wilcoxon test. The results indicated that: 1) the average speed of performance of the tasks was not influenced by the type of seat surface 2) performance time for the task was influenced by the type of seat surface. The use of the canvas seat surface increased the accomplishment time for the task. This study concluded that the seat surface of school furniture for students with spastic cerebral palsy should not to be made from very flexible materials. This type of seat surface does not offer the necessary stability, and will be detrimental to the student's performance during activities involving the upper limbs.
