Resumo: Neste ensaio propomos evidenciar experiências de crianças pretas em pesquisas acadêmicas e na literatura infantil. Tomando suas vozes como referenciais para a efetiva educação das relações étnico-raciais, discutimos sobre discursos produzidos no ambiente escolar, sendo muitos deles reificadores de estereótipos. Em contraponto, na literatura infantil selecionada, suas vozes acionam novos sentidos acerca de suas trajetórias. Assim, aspectos da formação docente são apontados, com destaque especial à necessidade de uma educação literária que contemple a diversidade étnico-racial. É uma aposta no entrelaçamento de vozes para que possamos esperançar histórias mais cheias de vida às todas as crianças, como projeto de uma educação antirracista.

Abstract: This essay is intended to highlight the experiences of black children in academic research and children's literature. Assuming their voices as references for the effective education of ethnic-racial relations, we discuss discourses produced in the school environment, many of them reifying stereotypes. In contrast, in selected children's literature, their voices trigger new meanings about their trajectories. Thus, aspects of teacher education are pointed out, with special emphasis on the need for a literary education that contemplates ethnic-racial diversity. It is a bet on the interlacing of voices, so that we can hope for more life-giving stories to all children as a project of anti-racist education.

Resumo: Este artigo apresenta um conjunto de atividades desenvolvidas em turmas de 6º ano do ensino fundamental durante as aulas de língua portuguesa, com a proposta de promover rupturas epistemológicas na compreensão das crianças sobre cultura, estética e história africanas. Para tanto, utiliza como referenciais analíticos as produções das crianças, além de uma revisão teórica do campo das práticas pedagógicas e dos marcos legais que fundamentam a educação das relações étnico-raciais no Brasil. As modificações curriculares (ainda em curso) demandadas pela aprovação de um conjunto de leis, resoluções e diretrizes que fomentam o ensino de história e cultura afro-brasileira e africana na educação brasileira têm sido produzidas em campos de tensões, negociações e muitas vezes rupturas epistêmicas. Soma-se a forte tendência de conteúdos e práticas pedagógicas eurocêntricos, influenciados por um padrão de poder que emergiu como resultado do colonialismo moderno, a colonialidade. O que as práticas aqui descritas revelaram é que os limites ainda são muitos diante da força da colonialidade. O desafio que se apresenta à escola é, portanto, pensar outras possibilidades pedagógicas para subverter tal colonialidade e avançar na construção de um ensino fundamentado no reconhecimento de que a produção intelectual, política, cultural e social africana e afro-brasileira é necessária à formação escolar da população brasileira.

Abstract: This paper presents a series of activities carried in sixth-grade Portuguese classes, aimed to facilitate epistemological ruptures in the children’s understanding of the African culture, aesthetics, and history. To do so, the study uses as analytical references the children’s productions, a theoretical review in the field of teaching practices, and the legal milestones that underpin the ethnic-racial relations education in Brazil. The (still ongoing) curricular amendments, required through the passing of a set laws, resolutions, and guidelines that promote the teaching of African and Afro-Brazilian history and culture in the Brazilian education system, have been brought up amidst tensions, negotiations and often epistemic ruptures. The strong trend towards Eurocentric pedagogical content and practices are gathered, influenced by a power pattern that emerged out of modern colonialism, the coloniality. Furthermore, the practices herein uncover the fact that there are still too many limitations when compared to the power of coloniality. Therefore, the school faces the challenge of imagining new pedagogical outcomes to subvert the aforementioned coloniality and push towards the development an education grounded on the acknowledgment that the African and Afro-Brazilian intellectual, political, cultural and social production is fundamental to the education of the Brazilian population.

RESUMO Este artigo reúne a síntese dos resultados de pesquisas sobre a produção literária infantil e juvenil na dimensão das relações étnico-raciais. Foram ao todo 13 estudos em nível de mestrado e doutorado, captados no levantamento para o projeto “Educação das Relações Étnico-Raciais: o estado da arte”. Trata-se de pesquisas da pós-graduação em Educação, desenvolvidas entre os anos 2003 a 2014. Por meio da análise predominantemente qualitativa, foi possível estabelecer duas categorias: a “análise literária”, reunindo os estudos que investigaram uma ou mais obras de um mesmo autor e cuja característica em comum é a interface com contextos históricos e sociológicos, em especial do passado; e a “escolarização da literatura”, agrupando as pesquisas que, no contexto escolar, investigaram a presença, leitura e interpretação de obras literárias infantis e juvenis. Desta segunda categoria, novas subdivisões foram definidas a partir de elementos característicos próprios. Os dados quantitativos possibilitaram identificar os locais predominantes de produção acadêmica com tais temáticas, bem como os anos mais produtivos no campo. Via de regra, os estudos indicaram um consenso sobre mudanças, ainda que diminutas, na representação de personagens negras a partir de publicações literárias mais recentes, embora negras e negros ainda sejam minoria como personagens no universo literário infantil e juvenil de modo geral. E entre as lacunas identificadas por este levantamento está o pouco investimento de estudos na recepção da leitura literária, em especial com crianças pequenas.

ABSTRACT This article brings together the synthesis of research results on children's and young people's literary production in the dimension of ethnic-racial relations. A total of 13 master's and doctoral studies were identified, captured in the survey for the project "Education of Ethnic-Racial Relations: The State of Art". These are postgraduate research in education, developed between 2003 and 2014. Through the predominantly qualitative analysis, it was possible to establish two categories: the "literary analysis", which brought together studies that investigated one or more works of the same author and whose characteristic in common is the interface with historical and sociological contexts, especially of the past; and the "schooling of literature", grouping the researches that, in the school context, investigated the presence, reading and interpretation of children's and juvenile literary works. From this second category, new subdivisions were defined by means of their own characteristic elements. The quantitative data allowed to identify the predominant places of academic production with such themes, as well as the most productive years in the field. As a rule, the studies have indicated a consensus about changes, albeit diminutive, in the representation of black characters from more recent literary publications, although blacks are still a minority as characters in the literary universe for children and youth in general. And among the gaps identified by this survey is the little investment of studies in the reception of literary reading, especially with small children.
