ABSTRACT The consolidation of the production of knowledge in Special Education in Brazil is marked by the trajectory of pioneer teachers who were able to experience international training and bring to the country innovations of the performance with students with disabilities, in addition to the expertise in research projects for this production. Thus, this text brings an interview with Professor Maria Amélia Almeida, from the Federal University of São Carlos, with the narrative of the research training opportunities experienced and her interest in Intellectual Disability. Professor Maria Amélia Almeida highlights the process of translation and validation for Brazil of the Support Intensity Scale under which she has focused on her research group over the last few years and recognizes the important role of the Brazilian Journal of Special Education for the area in Brazil. disabilities Thus Carlos Disability

RESUMO Este estudo teve por objetivo analisar os efeitos do Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) associado ao Point-of-view Video Modeling (POVM) nas habilidades comunicativas de três crianças diagnosticadas com Transtorno do Espectro Autista (TEA) e Necessidades Complexas de Comunicação. Empregou-se o delineamento experimental de múltiplas sondagens combinado ao delineamento de tratamentos alternados, sendo o PECS associado ao POVM a variável independente e as habilidades de comunicação a variável dependente. Os dados foram analisados considerando aspectos como: a porcentagem de non-overlapping, a porcentagem de respostas corretas quanto ao desempenho dos participantes e os dados da escala Likert quanto à validade social. Os resultados mostraram que a partir do início da intervenção, os níveis e as tendências de seus dados mudaram, todos os participantes obtiveram o critério, atingindo o non-overlapping de 100%. Em todas as fases do PECS associado ao POVM, os participantes obtiveram porcentagem média acima de 90%. O estudo foi considerado pelos responsáveis, pelas estagiárias e pelas professoras como socialmente válido. Conclui-se que os participantes com TEA indicaram uma mudança após a intervenção, ao comparar a condição de linha de base com a intervenção e follow-up, demonstrando uma possibilidade em Comunicação Suplementar e/ou Alternativa para as crianças com TEA.

ABSTRACT This study aimed to analyze the effects of the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) associated to Point-of-view Video Modeling (POVM) in communicative skills of three children diagnosed with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Complex Communication Needs. The experimental design of multiple probe combined with the design the alternate treatments was used, being PECS associated to POVM the independent variable and the communication skills were the dependent variables. Data were analyzed considering aspects such as: the percentage of non-overlapping, participants’ performance percentage of correct responses and Likert scale data on social validity. The results showed that from the beginning of the intervention, the data levels and trends changed, all the participants obtained the criterion, reaching 100% non-overlapping. In all phases of PECS associated to POVM the participants had an average percentage above 90%. The study was considered by those responsible for the child, the trainees and the teachers. It was concluded that the participants with ASD indicated a change after the intervention, when comparing baseline condition with intervention and follow-up, demonstrating a possibility in Augmentative and Alternative Communication for children with ASD.

RESUMO A Comunicação Suplementar e/ou Alternativa para crianças (CSA) com paralisia cerebral é essencial para o seu envolvimento em diferentes contextos. Assim sendo, o objetivo deste artigo foi verificar os efeitos de um programa individualizado de CSA para uma criança com paralisia cerebral não verbal em três contextos da vida cotidiana: escola, casa e ambientes clínicos. Este estudo utilizou o delineamento experimental de múltiplas sondagens. Os participantes foram uma criança com paralisia cerebral e três parceiros de comunicação em seus respectivos contextos: professor, mãe e terapeuta ocupacional. A intervenção consistiu no processo individualizado de formação teórica e prática dirigida aos parceiros de comunicação e implementação da CSA. Após a implementação do programa de intervenção, os resultados demonstraram que a criança e os parceiros de comunicação usaram com sucesso os recursos da CSA. Os resultados apontam que as estratégias adotadas nos três contextos foram eficazes e proporcionaram aprendizado sobre o uso de CSA para a criança e seus parceiros de comunicação.

ABSTRACT Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) for children with cerebral palsy is essential for their engagement in different contexts. Therefore, the purpose of this paper was to verify the effects of a program of AAC for a non-verbal child with cerebral palsy in three different contexts of daily life: school, home and rehabilitation settings. This study used a Multiple-probe Experimental Design. The participants were a child with cerebral palsy and three communication partners in their respective settings: teacher, mother and occupational therapist. The intervention consisted of the individualized process of theoretical and practical training directed at the communication partners and implementation of the AAC. After implementation of the intervention program, the results showed that the child and the communication partners successfully used AAC resources. The results indicate that the strategies adopted in the three contexts were effective and provided to the child and his communication partners an understanding of how to use the AAC effectively.

Com o aumento do número de matrículas de estudantes público-alvo da educação inclusiva no Ensino Superior de pós-graduação este estudo objetivou avaliar o nível de satisfação de estudantes público-alvo da educação inclusiva de quatro Universidades Públicas brasileiras, sendo uma Federal e três Estaduais e analisar suas atitudes frente às condições oferecidas pelas IES. Trata-se de pesquisa exploratória cuja coleta de dados ocorreu por meio da aplicação da Escala de Satisfação e Atitudes de Pessoas com Deficiência - ESA. Participaram nove estudantes matriculados em Cursos de Mestrado e Doutorado no Estado de São Paulo. Os resultados receberam tratamento quantitativo através da mensuração da escala aplicada e análise qualitativa de determinados itens da escala. Quanto a satisfação estrutural, grande parte dos entrevistados revelaram sentirem-se insatisfeitos com a condição de acessibilidade arquitetônica das IES a que pertencem. Os níveis de satisfação operacional, no geral, aproximam-se de respostas satisfatórias cujas condições se referem a recursos de âmbito metodológico para acompanhar as aulas. Por conseguinte, no quesito voltado para a Satisfação psicoafetivas, apresentaram tendências satisfatórias nas relações interpessoais. Na Atitude frente as barreiras, aproximaram-se de respostas satisfatórias, todavia, não consideram importante acionar o Ministério Público para garantia de direitos. Conclui-se que dependendo do que as Instituições oferecerem, as falhas nos cursos superiores de Pós-graduação podem ser observadas. No entanto, as IES precisam melhorar em todos os âmbitos de satisfação com vistas a permitir maior ingresso e a permanência desses estudantes, de modo que aumentem os níveis de satisfação no ensino superior de Pós-graduação.

Due to the increase of special education target students in Higher Education this study aimed to evaluate the level of satisfaction of such students in one federal and three state Brazilian Public Universities, and analyze their attitudes regarding the conditions offered by the HEI. In this exploratory research, data was collected through the application of the Satisfaction Scale and Attitudes of People with Disabilities - ESA. Nine master’s and doctor’s students in the State of São Paulo participated in the study. The results were quantitatively treated by measuring the applied scale and qualitative analysis of certain items of the scale. As for structural satisfaction, a large part of the interviewees revealed that they felt dissatisfied with the architectural accessibility of the HEI to which they belong. The levels of operational satisfaction, in general, were high in which conditions refer to resources of methodological scope to follow the lessons. Therefore, in relation to psycho-affective satisfaction, they presented satisfactory tendencies in interpersonal relationships. At Attitude, they have approached satisfactory answers, however, they do not consider it important to call the Public Prosecution Service to guarantee their rights. It is concluded that depending on what the institutions offer, failures of the courses in the postgraduate can be observed. However, HEIs need to improve in all areas of satisfaction in order to allow higher admission and stay of these students, to increase levels of satisfaction in post-graduate students in higher education.

The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the influence of surface modification by femtosecond laser (with average fluence of 0.6 J/cm2 and scanning speed of 0.1 mm/s) on the fatigue resistance of Ti-6Al-4V ELI alloy. A significant reduction in the fatigue strength of the material modified by laser was observed. Residual tensile stresses generated during surface modification were negligible, presenting lower values than those found on the unmodified surface. Based on a recently developed and published prediction model, the reduction of the fatigue strength was ascribed to the surface roughness created during the laser treatment of the alloy. An evidence was that the fatigue crack nucleation occurred in the modified region, rather than at the edge of the rectangular specimens as in the untreated condition.

RESUMO as pessoas com transtorno do espectro autista (TEA) apresentam limitações específicas nas habilidades de comunicação. A modelagem em vídeo (MV) é considerada uma prática baseada em evidências para indivíduos com TEA pelo fato desta população preferir e responder melhor às estratégias de ensino por meio de pistas visuais. Neste sentido, o objetivo desta revisão foi discutir os resultados das intervenções que implementaram a MV para ensinar habilidades de comunicação para indivíduos com TEA. Para tanto, três critérios de inclusão foram estabelecidos, sendo eles: a) os estudos deveriam utilizar como variável independente a modelagem em vídeo isoladamente, associada a outra intervenção ou como parte de um pacote de tratamentos; b) as habilidades de comunicação deveriam fazer parte da variável dependente, mesmo que estivessem presentes outras habilidades; c) todos os estudos deveriam ter participantes com Transtorno do Espectro Autista. Foi utilizado como banco de dados o Portal de Periódico da CAPES, com descritores específicos. O período determinado neste estudo foi de 2010 a 2016. Somente 11 artigos apresentaram os critérios de inclusão determinados neste estudo. Estes estudos enfatizaram os ganhos da pessoa com TEA em suas habilidades de comunicação por meio da MV. Dados os resultados positivos relatados nestes 11 estudos, há evidências suficientes para concluir que a MV é um procedimento indicado para ensinar uma variedade de habilidades comunicativas para crianças com TEA. Conclui-se que este estudo sumarizou intervenções que empregaram a MV para o ensino de habilidades de comunicação, proporcionando direções para pesquisas futuras.

ABSTRACT People with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) have specific limitations on communication skills in both receptive and expressive language. Video modeling (VM) is considered an evidence-based practice for individuals with ASD since this population prefers and responds better to teaching strategies through visual cues. In this sense, the objective of this review was to discuss the outcomes of interventions that implemented MV to teach communication skills to individuals with ASD. Thus, three inclusion criteria were established: a) the studies should use the video modeling alone as independent variable, associated with another intervention or as part of a package of treatments; b) communication skills should be part of the dependent variable, even if other skills were present; c) All studies should have participants with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The CAPES Journal Portal was used as the database with specific descriptors in the 2010 to 2016 period. Only 11 studies presented the inclusion criteria determined in this study. These papers emphasized the gains of the person with ASD in their communication skills through VM. Given the positive results reported in these 11 studies, there is sufficient evidence to conclude that VM is an indicated procedure for teaching a variety of communicative skills for children with ASD. It is possible to conclude that this study summarized interventions that used VM for teaching communication skills, indicating directions for future research.

Resumo As habilidades sociais são de extrema importância dentro das práticas pedagógicas, pois permitem a interação adequada em todo o contexto escolar. Pensando na subclasse específica de dar feedback, este estudo objetivou verificar se o ensino específico dessa subclasse de habilidades sociais pode auxiliar ou modificar a frequência de respostas dessa habilidade e interferir no número de solicitações dos alunos durante o período de aula. O estudo caracteriza-se por utilizar um delineamento experimental do tipo ABA e teve como participante uma professora de escola pública estadual de uma cidade do interior do Estado de São Paulo. Para a coleta de dados foram utilizados três protocolos onde eram computados os números de feedbacks e solicitações realizados por professora e alunos, respectivamente. Realizaram-se 13 sessões e o critério para o final das intervenções foi o aumento de 60% do número de feedbacks iniciais. Como resultados, verificou-se o aumento do número de feedbacks positivos.

Abstract Social skills are extremely important within pedagogical practices, as they allow adequate interaction throughout the school context. Considering the specific subclass of feedback, this study aimed to verify if the specific teaching of this subclass of social skills can help or modify the frequency of responses of this ability and interfere in the number of requests of the students during the class period. The study is characterized by using an ABA-type experimental design and had as participant a teacher of a state public school in a city in the countryside of the State of São Paulo. For data collection, three protocols were used to compute the numbers of feedbacks and requests made by teacher and students, respectively. There were 13 sessions and the criterion for the end of the interventions was the 60% increase in the number of initial feedbacks. As results, there was an increase in the number of positive feedbacks.

Resumen Las habilidades sociales son de extrema importancia dentro de las prácticas pedagógicas, pues permiten la interacción adecuada en todo el contexto escolar. Pensando en la subclase específica de dar feedback, este estudio tuvo por objetivo verificar si la enseñanza específica de esa subclase de habilidades sociales pode ayudar o modificar la frecuencia de respuestas de esa habilidad e interferir en el número de solicitaciones de los alumnos durante el período de clase. El estudio se caracteriza por utilizar un delineamiento experimental del tipo ABA y tuvo como participante una profesora de escuela pública estadual de una ciudad del interior del Estado de São Paulo. Para la recolecta de datos se utilizó tres protocolos en que se computó los números de feedbacks y solicitaciones realizados por profesora y alumnos, respectivamente. Se realizaron 13 sesiones y el criterio para el final de las intervenciones fue el aumento del 60% del número de feedbacks iniciales. Como resultados, se verificó el aumento del número de feedbacks positivos.

RESUMO: a comunicação humana constitui uma troca de sentimentos e necessidades entre duas ou mais pessoas, seja realizada pela linguagem oral, gestual, gráfica e/ou escrita. Com isso, este estudo teve como objetivo verificar os efeitos da implementação do Sistema de Comunicação por intercâmbio de figuras associada a metodologia do Currículo Funcional (PECS-Adaptado) em um aluno com paralisia cerebral. A pesquisa foi realizada nas dependências de uma escola de educação especial, em uma cidade de pequeno porte localizada no interior do estado de São Paulo. Participaram do estudo um aluno com paralisia cerebral e sem a fala oral, sua professora e seus pais. Os pais do aluno e a professora foram orientados para a utilização do sistema em casa e na escola, respectivamente, instrumentalizando assim interlocutores mais imediatos. A coleta dos dados durou aproximadamente sete meses. Durante a pesquisa, observou-se que o participante com paralisia cerebral aumentou suas habilidades comunicativas, de acordo com as suas necessidades e a professora e os pais compreenderam a importância do uso do sistema de comunicação alternativa para o processo de ensino e aprendizagem.

ABSTRACT: Human communication is an exchange of feelings and needs between two or more people, either carried out by oral, sign, graphic and/or written languages. Therefore, this study aimed to verify the effects of the implementation of the Picture Exchange Communication System. (PECS-adapted) for a student with cerebral palsy. The research was carried out in a special education school, in a small town in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. One non-speaking student with cerebral palsy participated in the research, his teacher and his parents. The parents and the teacher were guided in using the system at home and at school, and this instrumentalizing the most immediate partners. Data collection lasted about seven months. During the research, it was observed that the participant increased his communication skills, according to his needs, and the teacher and the parents understood the importance of using the alternative communication system for teaching and learning.

RESUMO: Objetivo: analisar o uso da Comunicação Suplementar e Alternativa como recurso de interpretação de livros de literatura infantil por uma criança com paralisia cerebral e necessidades complexas de comunicação. Métodos: para isso, realizou-se um estudo por meio do delineamento de sujeito único com um participante de sete anos com diagnóstico de paralisia cerebral e com necessidades complexas de comunicação. A variável dependente constituiu-se nas habilidades de comunicação e interpretação e a variável independente constituiu-se nas atividades de interpretação de histórias infantis, utilizando livros e figuras adaptadas por meio da Comunicação Suplementar e Alternativa. As atividades realizadas foram conduzidas em três etapas, sendo: Linha de Base, Intervenção e Manutenção. As sessões foram filmadas e anotadas em folhas de registro, e, posteriormente, os dados obtidos foram analisados quantitativamente. Resultados: os resultados obtidos permitiram identificar notável avanço no número de êxitos alcançados pelo participante durante as sessões realizadas, respondendo de forma autônoma, independente e assertiva às indagações, por meio das figuras e algumas verbalizações. Conclusão: foi possível constatar a eficácia da Comunicação Suplementar e Alternativa como recurso pedagógico e de apoio nas atividades de compreensão e interpretação de histórias na sala de aula por alunos com necessidades complexas de comunicação.

ABSTRACT: Purpose: to analyze the use of augmentative and alternative communication as resource interpretation of children's literature books for a participant with cerebral palsy and with complex communication needs. Methods: to this end, it used single subject design with a seven year old child diagnosed with cerebral palsy and with complex communication needs. The dependent variable was constituted in communication and interpretation skills and the independent variable was constituted in the interpretation of children's stories activities, using books and pictures adapted by augmentative and alternative communication. The activities were conducted in three stages, as follows: Baseline, Intervention and Maintenance. The sessions were filmed and recorded in record sheet, and then the data were analyzed quantitatively. Results: the results showed remarkable advance in the number of successes achieved by the participant during the sessions correctly answering questions with autonomy and independence using the figures and some utterances. Conclusion: it was possible to verify the effectiveness of the augmentative and alternative communication as an educational resource and support in comprehension and interpretation activities of stories in the classroom for students with complex communication needs.

RESUMO A Comunicação Suplementar e Alternativa (CSA) é uma área da tecnologia assistiva que busca facilitar a participação das pessoas nos vários contextos comunicativos. Há uma variedade de estratégias em CSA e uma delas é o Sistema de Comunicação por Troca de Figuras (PECS) que propõe desenvolver as habilidades de comunicação em pessoas com necessidades complexas de comunicação. Associado à aplicação do PECS, algumas pesquisas tem demonstrado os benefícios do uso do Video Modeling (VM) que consiste em uma técnica de ensino voltada às habilidades acadêmicas, sociais, de comunicação e vida diária para indivíduos das mais variadas deficiências. Este estudo teve por objetivo investigar os efeitos do PECS associado ao VM acerca do desenvolvimento das habilidades de comunicação de uma criança com síndrome de Down com necessidades complexas de comunicação. Neste sentido, para investigar os efeitos do PECS associado ao VM um delineamento AB foi empregado, sendo o PECS associado ao VM a variável independente, enquanto as habilidades de comunicação constituíram-se na variável dependente. Os dados foram analisados considerando alguns aspectos como o desempenho da participante, monitoramento do vocabulário, nível de independência nas etapas de linha de base, intervenção e manutenção. Os resultados indicaram que a participante aumentou as iniciações comunicativas, o vocabulário, além de demonstrar independência em utilizar o sistema PECS para se comunicar com diferentes pessoas. Dessa forma, o presente estudo mostrou uma possibilidade de intervenção que favoreceu o desenvolvimento das habilidades de comunicação da participante com síndrome de Down.

ABSTRACT Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) is an area of assistive technology that seeks to facilitate the participation of people in different communicative contexts. There are various AAC strategies, and one of them is the Picture Exchange Communication (PECS), which proposes to develop communication skills in people with complex communication needs. Associated with the implementation of PECS, some research has shown the benefits of using Video Modeling (VM), which consists a teaching technique aimed at the development of academic, social, communication and daily life skills for individuals of various disabilities. This study investigated the effects of PECS associated with VM on the communication skills development of a child with Down syndrome and complex communication needs. In order to verify the effects of PECS associated with VM, and AB design was used, in which PECS associated with VM was the independent variable, while the communication skills consisted in the dependent variable. Data were analyzed considering some aspects such as participant's performance, monitoring of vocabulary, level of independence in baseline, intervention and maintenance steps. The results showed that the participant increased her communicative initiations, and vocabulary; in addition to demonstrate independence in using PECS to communicate with different people. Thus, the present study showed a possibility of intervention that favored the development of communication skills of the participant with Down syndrome.

Neste início de século tem havido um crescimento do número de matrícula do aluno com deficiência no ensino superior. Porém, este fenômeno não está sendo avaliado para fins de averiguação da satisfação desse alunado quanto ao seu acesso e permanência. Este estudo tem por objetivo identificar o nível de satisfação desse alunado através de um instrumento construído pela pesquisadora. Trata-se de um estudo de caso, de caráter exploratório, em uma universidade do interior do Estado de São Paulo. Participaram do estudo oito com deficiência visual, seis com deficiência física, três com deficiência auditiva e uma com dificuldades de aprendizagem. O instrumento construído foi denominado de Escala de Satisfação e Atitudes de Pessoas com Deficiência - ESA. Em decorrência do tamanho da amostra, as técnicas estatísticas utilizadas foram no sentido exploratório e não inferencial. Verificou-se que as médias dos grupos diferenciaram-se de forma estatisticamente significativa (p=0,065) pelo Teste de Friedman, indicando que há diferenças entre os tipos de satisfação avaliados, no grupo estudado, a 90% de confiança. Os achados permitem-nos afirmar que a aplicação desse instrumento é viável e útil, no sentido de avaliar o rumo que a universidade está tomando com relação à garantia do acesso e permanência desse alunado.

In this new century there has been an increase in the number of registration of disabled students in higher education. However, this phenomenon is not being considered for the purpose of ascertaining the student's satisfaction in their access and permanence. This study aims to identify the student's level of satisfaction through an instrument constructed by the researcher. This is a case study of an exploratory nature, a university in the state of Sao Paulo. The study included eight visually impaired, physically disabled six, three with a hearing impairment and learning difficulties. This instrument was called Satisfaction Scale and Attitudes of People with Disabilities - ESA. Due to sample size, statistical techniques were used in an exploratory sense and not inferential. It was found that the averages of the groups differed statistically significantly (p= 0.065) by the Friedman test, indicating that there are differences between the types of satisfaction assessed in the study group, 90% confidence. These findings allow us to state that the application of this instrument is feasible and useful, in order to assess the direction the university is taking with regard to ensuring access and retention of students.

O estudo teve como objetivo planejar, aplicar e avaliar os efeitos de um programa de intervenção sobre Comunicação Alternativa para o desenvolvimento de habilidades comunicativas de uma adolescente com deficiência intelectual. Participaram da pesquisa uma menina de 14 anos, com diagnóstico de deficiência intelectual e déficits na comunicação verbal, a mãe e a educadora da adolescente. Para verificar os efeitos da intervenção, foi utilizado o delineamento de sujeito único, do modelo AB. Nos resultados da avaliação pragmática, por meio do teste ABFW, ao comparamos o desempenho da participante antes e após a intervenção, verificou-se um aumento dos atos comunicativos e melhora significativa do conteúdo dialógico. Na Avaliação de Linguagem Receptiva e Expressiva, a participante obteve êxito em todos os itens da seção não verbal (pré e pós teste). Na seção verbal, após o processo de intervenção, a participante adquiriu a habilidade de imitar sons e iniciar diálogos. Na análise dos questionários aplicados aos pais e professora da adolescente, foi possível perceber alguns pontos de divergência quanto a habilidade em comunicar desejos e sentimentos e na execução de ordens dadas. Com o início do processo de intervenção, e com a introdução do Sistema de Comunicação Alternativa - PECS verificou-se que a participante passou a utilizar as figuras pictográficas como recurso comunicativo durante situações da vida diária. Embora a participante apresentasse comunicação verbal antes do início do processo de intervenção, essa comunicação não era eficiente durante as interações. Assim, a participante utilizou o Sistema de Comunicação como alternativa para aprimorar suas habilidades linguísticas, além de complementar sua comunicação oral.

The study was designed to plan, implement and evaluate the effects of an Alternative Communication intervention program for developing the communication skills of a teenager with intellectual disabilities. The participants in the study were a 14 year old girl, diagnosed with intellectual disabilities and deficits in verbal communication, as well as her mother and her teacher. To verify the effects of the intervention, a single subject AB model design was used. When the participant's performance was compared before and after intervention, the results of the pragmatic evaluation through ABFW test showed an increase of communication performances and significant improvement of content dialogue. In Evaluation of Receptive and Expressive Language, the participant was successful on all items of the non-verbal section (pre and post test). In the verbal section, after the intervention process, the participant had acquired the ability to imitate sounds and initiate dialogue. When analyzing parents and teacher questionnaires, some points of disagreement in terms of the ability to communicate desires and feelings as well as carrying out given orders were revealed. After starting the intervention process, which introduced the PECS Alternative Communication System, it was found that the participant began to use pictograms as communication resources for daily life situations. Although the participant presented oral communication before the intervention process, her communication was not efficient during interactions. The intervention enabled the participant to use the communication system as an alternative, improving her language skills, and supplementing her oral communication.

O exercício da docência é permeado por condições de trabalho adversas, baixos salários, insuficiência de recursos materiais e didáticos, salas numerosas, tensão no relacionamento com os alunos, carga horária de trabalho excessiva, inexpressiva participação no planejamento da instituição e nas políticas institucionais e falta de segurança no ambiente escolar. O presente estudo teve por objetivo comparar a presença de indicadores de burnout em três grupos de professores que atuam no primeiro ciclo do Ensino Fundamental: a) 20 no ensino regular, em turmas sem a inserção de alunos com necessidades educacionais especiais - RSI; b) 20 no ensino regular, em turmas com a inserção de alunos com necessidades educacionais especiais - RCI; c) 20 em salas de recursos - SR. Para a coleta, foi utilizado o Maslach Burnout Inventory -MBI. Na análise de dados, empregou-se o SPSS, versão 13.0, e o Teste de Kruskal-Wallis para comparação dos grupos. Os resultados, que foram organizados em forma de Figuras e Tabelas, revelam que, de maneira geral, os grupos apresentaram relativa similaridade. Entretanto, algumas diferenças foram encontradas. O grupo de professores SR obteve os melhores resultados na avaliação das três escalas do burnout, quando comparado com RSI e RCI, ou seja, com predominância de respostas nos níveis mais baixos de exaustão emocional, altos na diminuição da realização pessoal e baixos para despersonalização. Espera-se que os dados expostos contribuam para a compreensão do burnout em professores do ensino regular com e sem inclusão de alunos com necessidades educacionais especiais, e/ou suscitem novos encaminhamentos de pesquisas.

The practice of teaching is permeated by adverse working conditions, low wages, inadequacy of material and teaching resources, overcrowded classrooms, tension in relationships with the students, excessive work load, lack of safety in the school environment, insignificant participation in institutional planning and in institutional politics. The objective of the present study was to compare burnout among three groups of teachers who work in elementary grades: a) 20 teachers who teach in regular school classrooms without the inclusion of students with special educational needs - RSI Group; b) 20 teachers who teach in the regular classroom with special needs students - RCI Group; c) 20 teachers who teach in resource classrooms (SR Group). The instruments used for data collection were the Maslach Burnout Inventory -MBI. The data was analyzed by SPSS version 13.0 and Kruskal-Wallis test for comparison of the three groups. The results were organized in the form of figures and tables. In general, the results demonstrated that the groups presented relative similarity. The teachers from the SR Group obtained the best results in the evaluation of the three burnout scales when compared to the RSI Group and RCI Group, that is, there was a prevalence of answers in the lower levels of emotional exhaustion, high level of low personal accomplishment and low level for depersonalization. It is hoped that these results contribute to a better understanding of burnout in teachers from regular classrooms with or without students with educational special needs and/or to indicate new directions for investigation.

A preocupação sobre as práticas inclusivas nas escolas públicas no Brasil começou após a Declaração de Salamanca, com desafios e dúvidas. Ainda hoje, passados cerca de 15 anos, os professores do ensino regular se queixam dizendo que não têm conhecimento suficiente ou preparo formal para lidar com crianças com necessidades educacionais especiais, especialmente quando estas apresentam disfunções graves, como paralisia cerebral, deficiência intelectual e comportamentos desafiadores. A colaboração entre profissionais da Educação Especial e Regular pode ser uma alternativa para enfrentar tais desafios. O objetivo deste relato foi o de apresentar um breve histórico de um programa de pesquisa, ensino e extensão que busca aproximar a Universidade Federal de São Carlos dos professores do ensino comum que têm alunos com necessidades especiais em suas salas de aula. Iniciado em 2004, este programa está na atualidade em seu sétimo ano de execução e envolve professores da universidade, estudantes de graduação e pós-graduação e professores do ensino comum. Os resultados parecem apontar essa via de colaboração entre Educação Especial e Regular como um caminho promissor para a construção de escolas mais inclusivas.

The concern about inclusive practices in public schools in Brazil began after the Salamanca Statement, with challenges and doubts. Even today, after about 15 years, the regular teachers complain saying they did not have enough knowledge or formal preparation for dealing with children with special educational needs, especially when they have serious disorders such as cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities and behavior disorders. The collaboration between professionals of Special and Regular Education can be an alternative to face these challenges. The objective of this report was to present a brief history of a program on research, teaching and extension that aims to bring together the Federal University of São Carlos and regular school teachers who have students with special needs in their classrooms. The program started in 2004 and currently is in its seventh year of implementation, involving university professors, undergraduate and postgraduate students and regular teachers. The results seem to point out that collaboration between Regular and Special Education can be a promising avenue for making more inclusive schools.

O objetivo do presente estudo foi de avaliar os efeitos de um programa de Comunicação Alternativa e Ampliada (CAA) no contexto familiar de pessoas com autismo. O programa, denominado ProCAAF, foi aplicado mediante a real necessidade dos familiares em estabelecer comunicação eficaz com seus filhos, mediante as necessidades apresentadas no contexto familiar. O estudo analisou os efeitos da aplicação da CAA e registrou as modificações ocorridas no comportamento comunicativo dos familiares com seus filhos. Fizeram parte do estudo seis participantes, sendo três participantes familiares (Pfs), representado pelas mães e seus respectivos filhos, denominados de participantes alunos (Pas), com diagnóstico de autismo, não-verbal e/ou fala não funcional. Para verificar os efeitos do ProCAAF, foi empregado um delineamento de múltiplas sondagens entre as mães e seus respectivos filhos (as). Os dados quantitativos foram analisados mediante o desempenho das mães na utilização da CAA com seus filhos, considerando os níveis de apoio e suporte oferecido pela pesquisadora. Os resultados demonstraram que as mães aprenderam a utilizar a CAA com seus filhos no contexto familiar, conseguindo suprir algumas das prioridades comunicativas determinadas previamente. Os dados qualitativos foram analisados mediante as respostas obtidas em questionário aplicado em período anterior e posterior a intervenção, demonstrando significativa mudança em relação à competência comunicativa dos participantes com autismo. É recomendada a implementação desse programa em outros contextos.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of an AAC program in the communication behavior of families who have children with autism. The program named ProCAAF, was implemented based on the family's actual needs in establishing effective communication with their children, according to the needs present in the family context. There were 6 participants in this study: 3 parents (Pfs), representing mothers and their 3 children who were called student participants (Pas), representing students diagnosed with autism with no verbal communication or functional speech. A multiple probe design across parents and their children was employed. The quantitative data was analyzed through the mother's performance in the use of AAC with their son/daughter in view of the level of support offered by the researcher. The results suggested that the parents learned how to apply AAC in the family context and achieved previously determined communication priorities. A qualitative analysis of the answers from a questionnaire applied pre and post intervention period indicated significant changes in relation to communication ability of the participants with autism. The implementation of this program in other contexts is recommended.
