Abstract The study aimed to compare repeating and non-repeating students concerning the academic self-efficacy and academic adaptation variables and to verify how the social support and self-efficacy variables can predict the adaptation to Higher Education of students who have a history of reproval. Abstract The fires in the Amazon rainforest triggered a series of events with wide media coverage in 2019. This study aimed to analyze the social representations (SR) of the Brazilian people, from the analysis of 679 comments on news articles related to the wildfires, shared on the Facebook pages of the news outlets O Globo, El País Brasil, and BBC News Brasil, newspapers of great impact in Brazil. Abstract This study aims to present evidence for the validity of the Over-indebtedness Protection and Risk Scale (OPRIS). The instrument was constructed to assess attitudinal aspects (behavioral, cognitive, and affective) that prevent or encourage over-indebtedness, considered a serious social problem. Four hundred and forty-four adults participated in the online version. Exploratory Factor Analysis revealed the presence of two factors: protection against over-indebtedness (13 items) and risk of over-indebtedness (21 items), with good levels of adjustment. Criterion validity showed that both factors differentiated groups in terms of self-perceived stress, financial concern, presence/absence of debt, and consumption profile. Resumo O objetivo deste estudo é apresentar as evidências de validade da Escala de Proteção e Risco de Superendividamento (EPRIS). O instrumento foi construído para avaliar aspectos atitudinais (comportamentais, cognitivos e afetivos) que previnem ou estimulam o superendividamento, considerado um grave problema social. Abstract This study aimed to identify sociodemographic and behavioral factors associated with the psychological well-being of university students at two distinct moments during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. It is an observational study with a cross-sectional design and convenience sampling, involving 2,808 university students who responded to a virtual form. Resumo Este estudo procurou identificar fatores sociodemográficos e comportamentais associados ao bem-estar psicológico de universitários em dois momentos distintos, durante o primeiro ano da pandemia de COVID-19. Trata-se de um estudo observacional, com desenho transversal e amostragem por conveniência, com 2.808 estudantes universitários que responderam a um formulário virtual. Abstract This article analyses the dynamics and psychological processes underlying judicialized conflicts that are known as parental alienation, examining three case studies in the light of psychoanalysis. The litigation experienced by the child reflects their embarrassments with the Other in their search for answers to their enigmas and affections, amid guerrilla warfare between those who occupy parental roles. The study pinpoints the pathways required to understand parental alienation: in a socio-historical journey through how parental and marital ties are conceived and recreated; in a passage through the grief that the subjects suffer during family reconstitution; and through a rereading of the phenomenon focused on the uniqueness of the symptom. Resumo O objetivo deste estudo foi apresentar o processo de elaboração da escala de avaliação das Habilidades Assertivas para Adolescentes (EHA-A). A partir da análise de juízes foi possível observar evidências de validade de conteúdo do instrumento, sendo avaliados critérios de pertinência, relevância e clareza dos itens. Além disso, um estudo com uma amostra da população-alvo do instrumento demonstrou bons índices de compreensibilidade dos itens (validade semântica). Abstract This study aimed to present the process of elaborating the Adolescent Assertiveness Assessment Scale (AAA-S). Based on the analysis of judges, evidence of the validity of the content of the instrument was established, assessing the criteria of relevance, pertinence, and clarity of the items. Resumo Esta pesquisa avaliou relações entre metapreocupações e sintomas ansiosos e/ou depressivos no início da pandemia de COVID-19 no Brasil. Participaram 2042 indivíduos, entre 18 e 78 anos, na segunda quinzena de março de 2020. Abstract This study evaluated the relationship between meta-worries and anxiety and depressive symptoms at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil. In March 2020, 2,042 individuals, aged 18-78 years were recruited. A sociodemographic questionnaire, the 4-item Patient Health Questionnaire, and the Meta-Worry Questionnaire were administered online. Four logistic regression models were used to estimate the effects of the independent variables on anxiety and/or depressive symptoms with explained variances between 28% and 39%. Being younger, not having a steady income, perceiving oneself as sick, and having a high meta-concern level increased the chances of anxiety and/or depressive symptoms. Resumo Este estudo descreve as percepções sobre o envelhecimento e os cuidados de saúde recebidos por 101 indivíduos LGBT+ no Brasil (São Paulo, Mato Grosso e Rio Grande do Sul). Os participantes preencheram um questionário online de 13 itens, dados demográficos e sobre a percepção LGBT+. A idade variou de 18 a 55 anos, sendo 75,5% caucasianos, 92% auto identificados como cisgênero e 55% homossexuais. A maioria não deixou de procurar o serviço de saúde (59,8%) por medo, mas evitou revelar sua sexualidade aos profissionais de saúde (65,7%). Os participantes tinham visões negativas sobre o envelhecimento, consideravam o sistema de saúde não acolhedor e os profissionais de saúde apresentavam comportamentos antiéticos e lacunas de conhecimento relacionadas à prática LGBT+. Abstract This study describes the perceptions of aging and the health care received by 101 LGBT+ individuals in Brazil (São Paulo, Mato Grosso, and Rio Grande do Sul). Participants completed an online 13-item demographic and LGBT+ perception questionnaire. The age ranged from 18 to 55 years, 75.5% were Caucasian, 92% self-identified as cisgender and 55% were homosexual. Most did not stop seeking healthcare (59.8%) because of fear, but they avoided revealing their sexuality to health professionals (65.7%). Abstract Research has shown that personality develops over time, generating changes and continuity in the pattern of functioning across the lifespan. We investigated the evidence of consistency in the ranking of personality traits over time. A group of 170 adults between the ages of 51 and 93 participated in the study (M = 69, SD = 9.05) and retrospectively answered the Big Five Inventory-2 and the Big Five Inventory. We performed test-retest correlation and the ANOVA procedure with repeated measures. We found that personality scores at 30-35 years of age are associated with the scores at age 70-80, indicating stability in the pattern of individual functioning in the long term. Resumo Evidências indicam que a personalidade se desenvolve ao longo do tempo, gerando mudanças e continuidade no padrão de funcionamento ao longo da vida. Investigamos a evidência de consistência no ranqueamento dos traços de personalidade ao longo do tempo. Participaram 170 adultos, com idade entre 51 e 93 anos (M = 69; DP = 9,05), que responderam o Big Five Inventory-2 e a Big Five Inventory, retrospectivamente. Abstract This study aimed to understand the social representations and acceptance of the Internet among older adults through the STAM. The participants consisted of 18 older adults divided into three groups based on their level of inclusion (low, medium/high, and low/medium). Before and after the group sessions, an attitude questionnaire was administered online. The questionnaire items underwent descriptive and relational analysis, while the data from the focus group were subjected to content analysis. We observed that the first group displayed a potential rejection of the technology due to concerns about time loss and a lack of perceived usefulness. In contrast, the second and third groups viewed the Internet as a tool that brings families together and requires patience, leading to a greater intention to use it and experimentation. Resumo A presente pesquisa teve por objetivo compreender as representações sociais e aceitação da internet pelo modelo STAM para idosos. Participaram 18 idosos divididos em 3 grupos, por nível de inclusão (baixo, médio/alto e baixo/médio). Antes e após o grupo foi aplicado um questionário de atitudes frente à internet. Os itens do questionário foram submetidos a análises descritivas e relacionais, e os dados do grupo focal à análise de conteúdo. Percebeu-se que no primeiro grupo houve a possibilidade de rejeição da tecnologia associada à perda de tempo e não percepção de utilidade. This study aimed to investigate the conceptual perspective of 40 children regarding the new configurations of the contemporary family. The children were between 11 and 14 years old, belonged to nuclear and single-parent arrangements, and wrote their answers. The results indicate that the nuclear family continues to be seen as the ‘most perfect’ family. Remarried and single-parent families were classified as ‘not good’, while extended families were perceived with more positive qualifications than negative ones. Resumo Transformações econômicas e sociais, na segunda metade do século XX, acarretaram mudanças nas concepções de família. Este estudo teve como objetivo investigar a perspectiva conceitual de 40 crianças a respeito das novas configurações da família contemporânea. As crianças tinham entre 11 e 14 anos de idade, pertenciam aos arranjos nuclear e monoparental e registravam as suas próprias respostas. Os resultados indicam que a família nuclear continua sendo vista como a “mais perfeita”. As famílias recasadas e as monoparentais foram classificadas como “ruins”, enquanto as famílias extensas foram percebidas com qualificações mais positivas do que negativas. Abstract This study aims to analyze the social representation structure of AIDS for religious leaders of evangelical Pentecostal churches. It is a qualitative and descriptive study based on the structural approach of the Theory of Social Representations, developed with 120 religious leaders. The data were collected through free evocations and analyzed with EVOC software. The terms in the possible central nucleus are sadness, death, and disease. Resumo Este estudo objetiva analisar a estrutura das representações sociais da aids para os líderes religiosos de igrejas evangélicas pentecostais. Trata-se de um estudo qualitativo e descritivo baseado na abordagem estrutural da Teoria das Representações Sociais, realizado com 120 líderes religiosos.
