Resumo O artigo foca-se na discussão da Renda Básica Universal (RBU) como proposta política redistributiva radical que projeta modos alternativos de organizar a sociedade e de viver a vida, mais ajustados às muitas exigências, desafios e expectativas que marcam a vida contemporânea. Abstract The article focuses on discussing Universal Basic Income (UBI) as a radical redistributive political proposal that envisions alternative ways of organising society and living, more attuned to the diverse demands, challenges and expectations of contemporary life. The primary aim of the analysis is to discuss the main assumptions of the UBI, seeking to understand its implications for material freedom and its potential to induce structural social transformations. Considering these objectives and based on the various insights provided by the bibliographical research, it is possible to deduce that UBI could ensure a material basis for effective freedom, promoting self-determination capabilities, and can contribute to (new) welfare societies and subjectivities, within a framework of renewal and reinforcement of the welfare state. Abstract There are multiple approaches to examining 'gender in organisations,' each exhibiting diversity and originating from various fields and ideological frameworks. Mainstream literature on 'gender in organisations' focuses on gender-based differences within the organisation-emphasizing concepts like glass ceilings, sticky floors, and variations in management practices between men and women-to shed light on discriminatory practices against women. However, this perspective, which views organisations as gender-neutral spaces, overlooks concealed mechanisms that perpetuate patriarchal social structures. These mechanisms not only act as obstacles to equal job opportunities but also create environments marked by inequality, discrimination, and violence, mirroring societal-level issues. To address these shortcomings, the article adopts an approach from Feminist Action Research methods, highlighting its ability to challenge power dynamics and facilitate inclusive decision-making processes, revealing its influence on transformation at organisational, personal, and social levels. To illustrate the benefits from Feminist Action Research, this article explains the research process conducted at Alternative and Solidarity Economy Network of the Valencian Country (XEAS País Valencià, using its Valencian acronym) over 14 months. During this period a feminist organisational change process was implemented to reflect upon and transition towards a more liveable organisation. Various qualitative techniques, such as semi-structured interviews, participatory workshops, participant observation, and document review, were combined to conduct this study. The lessons learned from this study can inspire future similar studies in the Management field, with an aspiration to address gender discrimination issues more in-depth.

Resumen Existen múltiples enfoques para examinar el "género en las organizaciones", cada uno mostrando diversidad y originándose en diversos campos y marcos ideológicos. La literatura convencional sobre "género en las organizaciones" se centra en las diferencias basadas en el género dentro de la organización, destacando conceptos como techos de cristal, suelos pegajosos y variaciones en las prácticas de gestión entre hombres y mujeres, para arrojar luz sobre las prácticas discriminatorias contra las mujeres. Sin embargo, esta perspectiva, que considera a las organizaciones como espacios neutrales en cuanto al género, pasa por alto mecanismos ocultos que perpetúan estructuras sociales patriarcales. Estos mecanismos no solo actúan como obstáculos para la igualdad de oportunidades laborales, sino que también crean entornos marcados por la desigualdad, la discriminación y la violencia, reflejando problemas a nivel social. Para abordar estas deficiencias, el artículo adopta un enfoque basado en métodos de Investigación Acción Feminista, destacando su capacidad para desafiar las dinámicas de poder y facilitar procesos de toma de decisiones inclusivos, revelando su influencia en la transformación a nivel organizacional, personal y social. Para ilustrar los beneficios de la Investigación Acción Feminista, este artículo explica el proceso de investigación llevado a cabo en la Red de Economía Alternativa y Solidaria del País Valenciano (XEAS País Valencià, usando su acrónimo en valenciano) durante 14 meses. Durante este período, se implementó un proceso de cambio organizacional feminista para reflexionar y transitar hacia una organización más habitable. Se combinaron diversas técnicas cualitativas, como entrevistas semiestructuradas, talleres participativos, observación participante y revisión de documentos, para llevar a cabo este estudio. Las lecciones aprendidas de este estudio pueden inspirar futuros estudios similares en el campo de la Gestión, con la aspiración de abordar más a fondo los problemas de discriminación de género.

Resumen Los planes de ordenamiento social de la propiedad rural (POSPR) en Colombia permitirían la implementación de la reforma rural integral (RRI), componente esencial del Acuerdo de Paz. De manera puntual, se argumenta que el diseño institucional del POSPR de Ovejas, municipio del Departamento de Sucre, posibilitaría la ejecución de la RRI. La información de entrevistas a actores clave, la revisión de legislación nacional y la elaboración de matrices en un software muestran que, en esta localidad, los planes de incorporación de hectáreas al Fondo de Tierras y de entrega de títulos de propiedad fortalecen la participación comunitaria con equidad de género y garantiza el ordenamiento del territorio. No obstante, la suspensión paulatina a escala nacional de estos planes ha detenido el avance de la reforma rural. Ovejas sería el único municipio que estaría cumpliendo con este punto del Acuerdo de Paz.

Abstract The Plans for the Social Organization of Rural Property (POSPR) in Colombia would allow the implementation of the Integral Rural Reform (RRI), an essential component of the Peace Agreements. Specifically, POSPR’s institutional design in Ovejas (a municipality in the Department of Sucre) would enable the implementation of the RRI. Information from interviews with key actors, the review of national legislation, and the use of software to elaborate databases show that, in this locality, plans to incorporate hectares into the Land Fund and the delivery of land titles strengthen community participation with gender equity and guarantee territorial planning. However, the gradual suspension of these plans at the national level has halted the progress of rural reform. Ovejas would be the only municipality complying with this point of the Peace Agreements.

Resumo O artigo buscou realizar uma revisão sistemática acerca da literatura que versa sobre o movimento estudantil no Brasil, publicada entre 2015 e 2022, com o objetivo de quantificar artigos sobre essa temática e como a atuação da psicologia escolar no movimento estudantil secundarista brasileiro é abordada. A pesquisa foi realizada em 4 etapas: busca bibliográfica em 5 plataformas de periódicos, exclusão por título e de artigos duplicados, categorização dos estudos por área do conhecimento e análise dos artigos da área de Psicologia. O número total de artigos encontrados inicialmente foi 422 artigos. Após aplicar-se alguns critérios de inclusão e exclusão, realizamos a análise em 16 artigos. A partir dos resultados obtidos, pôde-se perceber a prevalência de pesquisas empíricas e qualitativas, estudando principalmente as ocupações secundaristas e experiências de construções de grêmios estudantis em escolas. Por fim, conclui-se que a temática estudada, ao se tratar de um fenômeno interdisciplinar, ainda é pouco explorada pela Psicologia. No entanto, os resultados obtidos na revisão, indicaram que é de fundamental importância a participação do estudante no processo político escolar, como materialização do objetivo que a escola tem na constituição de sujeitos em desenvolvimento aptos para atuarem em transformação social, ética e política.

Abstract The article sought to carry out a systematic review of the literature on the student movement in Brazil, published between 2015 and 2022, with the aim of quantifying articles on this subject and how the role of school psychology in the Brazilian secondary student movement is approached. The research was carried out in 4 stages: bibliographic search in 5 journal platforms, exclusion by title and duplicate articles, categorization of studies by area of knowledge and analysis of articles in the area of Psychology. The total number of articles initially found was 422. After applying some inclusion and exclusion criteria, we analyzed 16 articles. From the results obtained, it was possible to see the prevalence of empirical and qualitative research, mainly studying secondary school occupations and experiences of building student unions in schools. Finally, it can be concluded that the subject studied, being an interdisciplinary phenomenon, is still little explored by psychology. However, the results obtained in the review indicate that student participation in the school political process is of fundamental importance, as a materialization of the school's objective of creating developing subjects who are capable of acting in social, ethical and political transformation.

Resumen El artículo buscó realizar una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre el movimiento estudiantil en Brasil, publicada entre 2015 y 2022, con el objetivo de cuantificar los artículos sobre este tema y cómo se aborda el trabajo de la psicología escolar en el movimiento estudiantil secundario brasileño. La investigación se llevó a cabo en 4 etapas: búsqueda bibliográfica en 5 plataformas de revistas, exclusión por título y artículos duplicados, categorización de los estudios por área de conocimiento y análisis de los artículos en el campo de la Psicología. El número total de artículos encontrados inicialmente fue de 422. Tras aplicar algunos criterios de inclusión y exclusión, se analizaron 16 artículos. A partir de los resultados obtenidos, se pudo constatar la prevalencia de investigaciones empíricas y cualitativas, principalmente estudiando las ocupaciones en la enseñanza secundaria y las experiencias de construcción de sindicatos estudiantiles en las escuelas. Finalmente, se puede concluir que el tema estudiado, por tratarse de un fenómeno interdisciplinario, aún es poco explorado por la psicología. Sin embargo, los resultados obtenidos en la revisión indican que la participación de los alumnos en el proceso político escolar es de fundamental importancia, como materialización del objetivo de la escuela de crear individuos en desarrollo, capaces de actuar en la transformación social, ética y política.

RESUMEN En el contexto actual, la transformación digital se ha convertido en un factor fundamental para el cambio de la matriz productiva en Ecuador. Esto se debe a que el mundo está siendo cada vez más digital y las empresas necesitan adaptarse a esta nueva realidad para seguir siendo competitivas en el mercado nacional e internacional. Sin embargo, a pesar de los esfuerzos del gobierno ecuatoriano por impulsar la transformación digital, todavía existen obstáculos que limitan su implementación de manera eficiente y efectiva. Uno de ellos es el insuficiente conocimiento sobre el tema y sobre sus beneficios para la práctica social. Muchas empresas todavía no han adoptado las tecnologías digitales en sus procesos y actividades. Por otro lado, existen barreras como la falta de acceso a internet en algunas zonas rurales y la falta de capacitación y formación en habilidades digitales. El objetivo de este estudio es ofrecer un análisis de los niveles de interdependencia intersectorial en el contexto de la matriz productiva de Ecuador, identificando los principales desafíos, fortalezas y oportunidades. De esta manera se podrán proponer recomendaciones para la integración efectiva con la transformación digital. La metodología consistió en revisar la literatura sobre la transformación digital y su integración a la matriz productiva de Ecuador. También se recopiló información de estudios y datos estadísticos sobre la adopción de tecnologías digitales en el país.

ABSTRACT In the current context, digital transformation has become a key factor for changing the productive matrix in Ecuador. This is because the world is becoming increasingly digital and companies need to adapt to this new reality to remain competitive in the domestic and international markets. However, despite the Ecuadorian government's efforts to promote digital transformation, there are still obstacles that limit its efficient and effective implementation. One of those obstacles is the insufficient knowledge about the subject and about its benefits for social practice. Many companies have not yet adopted digital technologies in their processes and activities. On the other hand, there are barriers such as the lack of access to the internet in some rural areas and the lack of training and skills in digital skills. The objective of this study is to offer an analysis of the levels of intersectoral interdependence in the context of Ecuador's productive matrix, identifying the main challenges, strengths and opportunities. In this way, recommendations can be proposed for effective integration with digital transformation. The methodology consisted of reviewing the literature on digital transformation and its integration into Ecuador's productive matrix. Information was also collected from studies and statistical data on the adoption of digital technologies in the country.

ABSTRACT This document analyzes social cartography in the fishing sector of Oaxaca, Mexico. The main objective is to represent the fishing system through the identification of the key actors, their relationships and the territory The methodology included three phases: 1) documentary to establish the theoretical framework; 2) field, with the application of 110 surveys to fishermen using the snowball technique; and 3) results, with the analysis and presentation of the data. The main results show that the agri-food sector; to which the fishing sector belongs, faces challenges such as enhancing production, supply, transformation, marketing and distribution capacities. The main government, business and higher education actors involved were identified. Regarding the fishing system in Oaxaca, the political-legislative, geographical, sustainability and health, financial and commercial, human capital, productive and infrastructural contexts were mapped, as well as the regional context of the Coast and Isthmus areas. The importance of recognizing the historical relationships that have marked fishing in Mexico is highlighted, especially in Oaxaca, one of the states with the highest rates of poverty and backwardness. RESUMEN Este documento analiza la cartografa social en el sector pesquero de Oaxaca, México. El objetivo principal es representar el sistema pesquero a través de la identificación de los actores clave, sus relaciones y el territorio. La metodología incluyó tres fases: 1) documental, para establecer el marco teórico; 2) de campo, con la aplicación de 110 encuestas a pescadores utilizando la técnica de bola de nieve; y 3) de resultados, con el análisis y presentación de los datos. Los principales resultados muestran que el sector agroalimentario, al cual pertenece el sector pesquero, enfrenta retos como potencializar las capacidades de producción, abastecimiento, transformación, comercialización y distribución. Se identificaron los principales actores gubernamentales, empresariales y de educación superior involucrados. En cuanto al sistema pesquero en Oaxaca, se mapearon los contextos político-legislativo, geográfico, de sustentabilidad y sanidad, financiero y comercial, de capital humano, productivo e infraestructural, así como el contexto regional de las zonas Costa e Istmo. Se destaca la importancia de reconocer las relaciones históricas que han marcado la pesca en México, especialmente en Oaxaca, uno de los estados con mayores índices de pobreza y rezago. RESUMO Este artigo analisa o mapeamento social no setor de pesca em Oaxaca, México. O principal objetivo é representar o sistema de pesca por meio da identificação dos principais atores, suas relações e o território. A metodologia incluiu três fases: l) documental, para estabelecer a estrutura teórica; 2) campo, com a aplicação de 110 pesquisas a pescadores usando a técnica de bola de neve; e 3) resultados, com a análise e apresentação dos dados. Os principais resultados mostram que o setor agroalimentar, ao qual pertence o setor pesqueiro, enfrenta desafios como o fortalecimento das capacidades de produção, fornecimento, processamento, comercialização e distribuição. Foram identificados os principais atores governamentais, empresariais e de ensino superior envolvidos. Com relação ao sistema de pesca em Oaxaca, foram mapeados os contextos político-legislativo, geográfico, de sustentabilidade e saúde, financeiro e comercial, de capital humano, produtivo e de infraestrutura, bem como o contexto regional das zonas da Costa e do Istmo. O estudo destaca a importância de reconhecer as relações históricas que marcaram a pesca no México, especialmente em Oaxaca, um dos estados com os mais altos índices de pobreza e atraso. ABSTRACT This article reflects on the role of mediations and territorial justice in peacebuilding led by women and youth in Riosucio, Chocó, Colombia. This reflection derives from the experience of the project "Spinning Political Capacities for Transitions in the Territories", specifically from the recognition of the importance of mediation practices and territorial justice by the women of the "Community Caregivers Network" and the youth of the "Municipal Youth Platform". These mediations have allowed the communities to confront territorial conflicts through a process of community organization in which territorial justice and mediations are recognized as key elements in peace building and promoting the transformation of social and political relations in the territory

RESUMEN El presente artículo reflexiona sobre el papel de las mediaciones y la justicia territorial en la construcción de paz liderada por mujeres y jóvenes en Riosucio, Chocó, Colombia. Esta reflexión se deriva de la experiencia del proyecto "Hilando Capacidades Políticas para las Transiciones en los Territorios", específicamente del reconocimiento de la importancia de las prácticas de mediación y la justicia territorial por parte de las mujeres de la "Red de Cuidadoras comunitarias" y de los jóvenes de la "Plataforma Municipal de la Juventud". Estas mediaciones han permitido a las comunidades afrontar los conflictos territoriales a través de un proceso de organización comunitaria en el que se reconoce la justicia territorial y las mediaciones como elementos claves en la construcción de paz y para la transformación de las relaciones sociales y políticas en el territorio.

RESUMO Este artigo reflecte sobre o papel da mediação e da justiça territorial na construção da paz liderada por mulheres e jovens em Riosucio, Chocó, Colômbia. Esta reflexão deriva da experiência do projeto "Spinning Political Capacities for Transitions in the Territories", especificamente do reconhecimento da importância das práticas de mediação e justiça territorial pelas mulheres da "Rede de Cuidadoras Comunitárias" e pelos jovens da "Plataforma Municipal da Juventude". Estas mediações têm permitido às comunidades enfrentar os conflitos territoriais através de um processo de organização comunitária em que a justiça territorial e as mediações são reconhecidas como elementos fundamentais para a construção da paz e para a transformação das relações sociais e políticas no território.

Abstract. This article offers an initial exploration of the process by which youth have colonized nightlife in Mexico City between 1940 and 1960. Given the paucity of historical research on youth and nocturnality, I employ several representative scenes from the film Los Caifanes (1967) as the central axis of my argumentation. The selection of these scenes is based on their recreation of age-specific practices, as identified in historical studies that address the subject tangentially. The following analysis focuses on the construction of various youth typologies, moral panics, forms of control, youthful rebellion, and the transformation of urban nightlife. A social differentiation in nocturnal entertainment forms is observed based on the social class of the youth. The concluding considerations offer a preliminary conclusion: the persistence and adaptation of the sociocultural construction of night to contemporary transformations of urban life.

Resumen. Este artículo es una primera aproximación al proceso de colonización de la vida nocturna por los jóvenes en la Ciudad de México entre 1940 y 1960. Dada la escasez de investigaciones históricas sobre las juventudes y las nocturnidades, recurro a algunas escenas representativas de Los Caifanes (1967) como eje articulador de mi argumentación. La selección de estas escenas parte de que recrean prácticas características de la edad según estudios históricos que tratan tangencialmente el tema. El siguiente análisis se enfoca en la construcción de las distintas tipologías de las juventudes, pánicos morales, formas de control, sublevación juvenil y la transformación de la vida nocturna citadina. Se observa una diferenciación social en las formas de diversión nocturna según la clase social de los jóvenes. Las consideraciones finales ofrecen una conclusión preliminar: la persistencia y la adaptación de la construcción sociocultural de la noche a las transformaciones contemporáneas de la vida citadina.

Abstract: This article examines how the narrative of the plurinational state provided the common symbolic framework for the conflict over the Isiboro Sécure Indigenous Territory and National Park (Tipnis) in Bolivia in 2011. The central dispute, one of the most important in Bolivia’s recent history, was whether or not to construct a highway through this area, a debate that has led to a major rift between peasant and indigenous social organizations that shared common reivindicative imaginaries but ultimately experienced profound divisions. This discussion serves as a key observation point to understand how decolonization imaginaries actually function, which I consider a anchoring point (point du capiton) in the narrative of the plurinational state. Through discourse analysis, review of chronicles, press statements, and accounts of the VIII Indigenous March, I aim to identify the discursive threads that framed the debates on decolonization, showing that it can be used as a rhetorical tool to mask extractivism or defend “national sovereignty,” or as an argument to uphold the self-determination of indigenous peoples. I also examine how the repertoire of the indigenous march was constructed discursively and symbolically, and the impact it left on Bolivia’s recent history. I intend for this analysis to contribute to understanding how Bolivian social perceptions are shaped in relation to the narrative of the plurinational state and its potential for social transformation as a new regime of truth.

Resumo: Neste artigo, são exploradas as maneiras pelas quais a narrativa do Estado plurinacional foi a base simbólica comum em que se desenvolveu o conflito no Território Indígena e no Parque Nacional Isiboro Sécure (Tipnis), em 2011, na Bolívia, cujo desacordo central era a construção ou não de uma estrada que o atravessaria. Esse é um dos problemas mais importantes da história recente da Bolívia, pois representou uma grande discordância entre organizações sociais camponesas e indígenas que compartilhavam demandas imaginárias comuns e que terminou em grandes rupturas. Essa discussão é apresentada como um espaço de observação fundamental para entender como os imaginários da descolonização operam na realidade, que considero ser um ponto de basta (point du capiton) na narrativa do Estado plurinacional. Por meio da análise do discurso, de uma revisão de crônicas, declarações à imprensa e relatos da VIII Marcha Indígena, procuro estabelecer os fios discursivos que suscitaram debates sobre a descolonização. Assim, é possível observar como a descolonização pode ser um artifício retórico para encobrir o extrativismo ou defender a “soberania nacional”, ou um argumento para preservar a autodeterminação dos povos indígenas. Além disso, discuto como o repertório da marcha indígena foi construído discursiva e simbolicamente e que traços deixou na história recente da Bolívia. Com esse exercício, espero contribuir com elementos para as formas pelas quais as percepções sociais bolivianas são construídas com relação à narrativa do Estado plurinacional e suas possibilidades de transformação social como um novo regime de verdade.

Resumen: Este artículo indaga las formas en que la narrativa del Estado plurinacional fue el marco simbólico común en el cual se desarrolló el conflicto del Territorio Indígena y Parque Nacional Isiboro Sécure (Tipnis) en 2011 en Bolivia, cuyo desacuerdo central era la construcción o no de una carretera que lo cruzaría. Este es uno de los problemas más importantes en la historia corta de Bolivia, pues representó un gran desencuentro entre organizaciones sociales campesinas e indígenas que compartían imaginarios reivindicativos comunes y que terminaron en grandes rupturas. Tal discusión se presenta como un espacio de observación clave para entender cómo operan en la realidad los imaginarios de la descolonización, a la que considero un punto nodal (point du capiton) en la narrativa del Estado plurinacional. Desde el análisis del discurso, la revisión de crónicas, las declaraciones de prensa y los relatos sobre la VIII Marcha Indígena busco establecer los hilos discursivos que plantearon debates sobre la descolonización. Así, podrá observarse cómo la descolonización puede ser un recurso retórico para encubrir el extractivismo o defender la “soberanía nacional” o en un argumento para preservar la autodeterminación de los pueblos indígenas. Por otro lado, hablaré sobre la manera como el repertorio de la marcha indígena se construyó discursiva y simbólicamente y qué huellas dejó en la historia corta de Bolivia. Con este ejercicio espero aportar elementos a los modos en que se construyen las percepciones sociales bolivianas en relación con la narrativa del Estado plurinacional y sus posibilidades de transformación social en tanto nuevo régimen de verdad.

Against the backdrop of an Africanisation imperative, universities in Africa seem to continuously redefine and reconfigure in search of social alignment, identity and relevance. It is for this reason that compelling processes, such as decolonisation, transformation and other higher education reform initiatives, are underscored by the primary imperative of pursuing social meaning and relevance. In post-colonial Africa, the imperative of Africanisation of the university has, though necessary, remained a contested topical discourse. This conceptual article seeks to contribute to the debate by drawing upon notions of conscience, humanness and wonder as possible anchors for the Africanisation of the university on the continent.

This article focuses on academic staff development in higher education in South Africa. It emphasises the importance of locating academics within the broader racialised contexts and history of the country. Recognising the complexities of social academic exclusion in relation to academics working across the sector in diverse universities, the article argues that academic staff development programmes which provide formulaic interventions are far less likely to have a long term impact on the individual and the sector. The social and academic legacies of racial segregation continue to permeate the professional experiences of marginalised academics, the support they receive for their career aspirations, and the recognition (without acknowledgement) of institutional and systemic barriers to their success (Breetzke and Hedding 2018; Khunou 2018; Hlengwa 2019). The literature is replete with references to humanising pedagogies for students yet is overwhelmingly silent on the impact on the academic or aspirant academic. For transformation initiatives to have an impact, there is clearly a need to humanise the participants in academic development processes. What this implies is a full appreciation of the fact that academics enter universities with histories and experiences that inflect their work is central to the success of the transformation project. Thie article is premised on social justice which informs an understanding of transformation as the empowerment of academics through academic staff development programmes. Predicated on Sen's "capability" approach, the article argues that academic development in the context of South Africa cannot afford to ignore the fractured history of the country.

The utilisation of online platform Blackboard Learn for Teaching and Learning (T & L) has become an essential and obligatory component of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). This study research aims to examine the difficulties and potential of its implementation at a Historically Disadvantaged Institution (HDI) like University of Limpopo (UL), with a focus on the Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme in Criminology and Psychology (Crim & Psych) as guided by University of Limpopo Faculty of Humanities Multimodal Teaching and Learning Plan (UL FHMTLP). This qualitative study employed an empirical research design, selecting Twelve (12) permanent Academics/Lecturers from the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UL for interview purposes. The verbatim responses from the interviews were analysed to identify the key themes and sub-themes of the study using the inductive Thematic Content Analysis (TCA) method. This study revealed that there is a lack of utilisation of Blackboard Learn at UL, as well as ineffective adaptation of current strategies and UL FHMTLP implementations. Many Lecturers still depend on contact T & L and the use of Blackboard Learn to connect the operations of this programme is currently unsuccessful. Recommendations consist of regular training and refreshment courses on the application of this technology, such as the Learning Management System (LMS) provided by the Information and Communications Technology [ICT]-electronic-(e)-Learning Unit. This could potentially facilitate collaborations between Natural Sciences (Technology - Blackboard Learn) and Human Sciences (Crim & Psych) to generate new knowledge, while also clearly providing the advantages of technology utilisation for T & L at UL. This kind of innovation could accommodate "economical, educational, technical, and social transformations" to address the mentioned challenges and opportunities, while making contributions to the field of professorship, with a focus on the South African Future Professors Programme (FPP) Phase 2 Cohort 1 2022-2023, utilising Blackboard Learn for T & L in a HDI to outline the existing challenges and possibilities.

In this article, we explore and theorise the experiences of seven SRC student leaders in one research intensive university in South Africa. We were interested in understanding / exploring / theorising the narratives of the student representative council on how they conceptualise, negotiate and navigate student leadership in a South African university. We adopted a qualitative case study and employed both semi-structured interviews and a focus group discussion to generate our data. The findings from this research project revealed that the 1) SRC fundamentally believes that they are the only valid and legitimate voice for students in higher education. 2) They also revealed the emergent tensions / conflicts / frustrations between the SRC and the university, with the student leaders feeling that the university is deliberate in its effort at ensuring that students do not feel at home in the academy. And perhaps more troubling, the findings also revealed 3) that at times the SRC has become a heteronormative and patriarchal institution, were women student leaders are treated as the "black nannies" of student leadership. We end the article with some concluding thoughts on the complex and intersectional ways that the SRC socially constructs its role and function in the academy, as well as the need for a system wide overhauling in rethinking / reimagining / reconstructing student leadership beyond the colonising, patriarchal gaze.

Universities have historically had ableist leanings that exclude people with disabilities. Yet, people with disabilities have a right to attend institutions of higher education, as does everyone else. What is called for is that institutions transform towards disability inclusion. The purpose of this article is to use the case study of research conducted at University of Cape Town (UCT) to suggest strategies for disability inclusion in institutions of higher education. The research question was: What does research carried out at UCT on disability inclusion related to staff, students, and curriculum tell us about strategies that have been used to achieve inclusion, the effectiveness of these strategies and what recommendations can be made for increasing the level of disability inclusion and equity at UCT? A scoping review of the literature on disability inclusion at UCT was conducted. Selected literature was thematically analysed based on the research question and aligned to the strategic goals of UCT. Four emergent themes are presented: including disability in the decolonial discourse, collaborating to enhance disability inclusion, enhancing disability inclusive social responsiveness, and other strategies to enhance systemic change towards disability inclusion. UCT has made significant strides to include students with disabilities, yet there is much still to be achieved. Disability inclusion in institutions of higher learning is not only about ensuring accessibility, but is also about addressing how disability is understood and how it is included in the curriculum.

The National Development Plan (NDP) advocates for the elimination of poverty, and the reduction of inequality by 2030. These goals can only be achieved if we harness the energies of the people, build an inclusive economy, develop skills, improve the capacity of the state and promote leadership and partnerships across society. This is to be achieved through transforming society more equitably and at the same time making the country more competitive in the global economic system. The article seeks to explore how institutions of higher learning can be transformed through the production of future professors with a developmental agenda. Therefore, the NDP advocates continuous professional development, lifelong learning and knowledge production, and innovation as a focus for building the capacity of individuals and society. The article employed the modernisation theory as a vehicle to drive social change and transformation in higher education. The article employed a systematic review of the literature on transformation and social change in higher education as advocated in the NDP. The findings of the article show that universal human development can be achieved by respecting human rights, promoting equality and empowering people to exercise the opportunities and choices they value in higher education. The article recommends that a structured interaction between lecturers and students within the context of transformative change and social justice should be prioritised in higher education. This can only be achieved through preparing the future professor with a developmental agenda to assist in shaping higher education by designing a curriculum that responds to the needs of the current cohort of students.
