Abstract Material cultural heritage refers to the group of elements that make up the heritage of a people, keep alive the stories, ways of thinking and living of the ancestors and that are transmitted from generation to generation. The Colta canton, considered as the cradle of the Puruhá nationality, is the owner of attractions with great tourist potential, which require comprehensive actions that allow the adaptation of sustainable products for the benefit of the inhabitants. Nowadays, cultural tourism constitutes one of the alternatives that are part of the new tourist trends, which seek not only enjoyment but also cultural learning. Hence, the objective of this research article is coupled, being to analyze the influence of material cultural heritage on the sustainable tourism development of the Colta canton, as a scientific, reasoned and grounded basis that allows making decisions and productive and efficient strategies, based on tourism. as an alternative for local dynamization. This mixed descriptive research allowed us to know that the local population is significantly rooted and convinced of the potential of their territory, since they frame within a very important and important range movable property (88%), real estate (82%), real estate documentaries (84%) and archaeological goods (88%) with respect to the sustainable tourism development of the canton. Statistically, with a Chi-square value of 0.000, the alternative hypothesis that corresponds to the incidence of material cultural heritage in sustainable tourism development is affirmed, with the necessary bases to promote new strategies and improvement projects for the inhabitants of the Colta canton
Resumen El patrimonio cultural material hace referencia al grupo de elementos tangibles que conforman la herencia de un pueblo, sostienen vivas las historias, formas de pensar y vivir de los antepasados y que son transmitidos de generación en generación. El cantón Colta, considerado como cuna de la nacionalidad Puruhá es poseedor de atractivos con gran potencial turístico, que requieren de acciones integrales que permitan readecuar productos sostenibles en beneficio de los habitantes. El turismo cultural constituye una de las alternativas que se enmarcan dentro de las nuevas tendencias turísticas, que buscan no solo el disfrute sino también un aprendizaje cultural. De ahí que se acopla el objetivo del presente artículo, siendo analizar la influencia del patrimonio cultural material al desarrollo turístico sostenible del cantón Colta, como una base científica, argumentada y fundamentada que permita tomar decisiones y estrategias productivas y eficientes, basadas en el turismo como alternativa de dinamización local. Esta investigación mixta de tipo descriptiva permitió conocer que la población local esta significativamente arraigada y convencida del potencial de su territorio, pues enmarcan dentro de un rango muy importante e importante a los bienes muebles (88%), bienes inmuebles (82%), bienes documentales (84%) y bienes arqueológicos (88%) con respecto al desarrollo turístico sostenible del cantón. Estadísticamente con un valor de Chi Cuadrado de 0.000 se afirma la hipótesis alternativa que corresponde la incidencia del patrimonio cultural material al desarrollo turístico sostenible, contando con las bases necesarias para fomentar nuevas estrategias y proyectos de mejora para los habitantes del cantón Colta.
