Composite materials of Coal ash/ Poly(Methyl Methacrylate) (ash/PMMA) were prepared/synthesized and their properties were studied by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), polarized optical microscopy (POM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA) and universal testing machine (UTM). The morphological study presented that the ash particles were well dispersed and embedded within the PMMA matrix. The DSC thermograms showed that the melting temperature (Tm) of pure PMMA is about 166 ºC which was shifted towards lower temperature when ash were incorporated in the polymer matrix. The mechanical properties of the ash/PMMA composites were enhanced up to an optimum level (ash 3 wt %) and then decreased at higher incorporation of large quantity of filler. The TGA thermograms indicated that the thermal stability of the ash/PMMA composite was enhance significantly than pure PMMA.

This study investigates some underlying technological factors for linking enterprise resource planning (ERP) to supply chain management (SCM) systems. ERP systems serve technological requirements across functional areas within a corporate boundary while SCM systems focus on collaborative relationships with partners in the supply chain, emphasizing business process integration and information sharing through IT. In order to facilitate SCM operations for business planning and decision making, an ERP system must be extensible in terms of support for a range of external constituents in the supply chain. The research reported in this paper investigates these linkages and provides a framework for developing and evaluating SCM processes in order to serve enterprise needs in terms of resource management for scalability, implementation costs and operational efficiency for meeting the business objectives.

Desulphurization of jet fuel, diesel oil, heavy residue and commercial furnace oil is carried out through extraction with aqueous solutions of sodium chloride, barium chloride, sodium hydroxide, mercury chloride, arsenic trioxide, potassium iodide, lead acetate, calcium hydroxide, zinc chloride, aluminum chloride, hydrochloric acid and sulphuric acid. Among the solutions used, HgCl2 and Ca(OH)2 were found to be the most efficient for the removal of sulphur compounds from the fractions understudy at 40 °C temperature and 30 min of shaking time. The total sulphur depletion of 60 % and 58 % has been achieved in case of jet fuel oil, 71 % and 62 % in case of diesel oil, 68 % and 67 % in case of heavy residue and 67 % and 69 %in case of commercial furnace oil with 10% HgCl2 and 5% Ca(OH)2 aqueous solutions, respectively.

We report on the influence of temperature, mixing ratio and holding time of NaOH & KOH intercalations on the surface area, micropore volume and micropore width of pre-baked clay samples. Pore size & surface area analyzer was used to measure the surface area, micropore volume and average pore width using Dubinin-Radushkevich (DR) method. A meaning full effect was observed when the temperature was increased from ambient up to 150 °C in case of both intercalating agents. Increasing temperature beyond 150 °C caused a decline in surface area generation even up to 750 °C. The results also show that mixing ratio has a positive effect on the porosity and the micropore surface area inereases as the mixing ratio inereases in case of both intercalating agents. The influence of holding time shows two different trends. In case of NaOH, the porosity inereases as the time inereases while in case of KOH, the porosity decreases as the time inereases. SEM, EDX and XRD studies were also performed. The results show effective insertion of the sodium and potassium into the clay matrix thereby causing generation of porosity.

Duas espécies de Neomegalotomus, N. parvus (Westwood), a espécie tipo, e N. rufipes (Westwood) são reconhecidas. As duas espécies são redescritas a partir de espécies tipo e a chave para identificação é apresentada. As seguintes espécies são sinonimizadas com Neomegalotomus parvus: N. simplex (Westwood), N. latifascia (Berg), e N. pallescens (Stål) (todas novas sinonímias). N. jamaicensis (Westwood) é sinonimizada com N. rufipes (nova sinonímia). As espécies tipo de todas as espécies até agora colocadas no gênero são também redescritas, exceto N. debilis (Walker) e N. vicinus (Westwood). N. parvus ocorre do México através da América Central até o norte da Argentina e em direção à Venezuela e ilhas caribenhas adjacentes ao leste. N. rufipes encontra-se espalhada no sul do Caribe em direção à Venezuela. As duas espécies se sobrepõem em distribuição: N. parvus é encontrado em St. Vincent e Tobago, enquanto N. rufipes ocorre em Grenada, a qual situa-se entre essas duas ilhas.

We recognize two species in Neomegalotomus, N. parvus (Westwood), the type species; and N. rufipes (Westwood). The two species are redescribed from type specimens, and are keyed. We synonymize the following species with Neomegalotomus parvus: N. simplex (Westwood), N. latifascia (Berg), and N. pallescens (Stål) (all new synonymies). We synonymize N. jamaicensis (Westwood) with N. rufipes (new synonymy). The type specimens of all species hitherto placed in the genus are also redescribed, except those of N. debilis (Walker) and N. vicinus (Westwood). N. parvus occurs from México through Central America into northern Argentina and east into Venezuela and adjacent Caribbean islands. N. rufipes is widespread in the Caribbean south towards Venezuela. The two species overlap in distribution: N. parvus is found on St. Vincent and Tobago, whereas N. rufipes occurs on Grenada, which lies between those two islands.

This paper demonstrates the chemically assisted enhancement in porosity of l °Cal clay samples activated at a temperature of 150 ºC. Aluminosilicates enriched baked clay samples were used and hydro thermally treated with NaOH, KOH, Ba (OH)2 & ZrO. Pore size and surface area analyzer was used for the determination of surface area. Average pore width, pore volume and surface area were calculated. Treatment with NaOH and KOH has shown to be a very good activation pr °Cedure for high surface area development. Zirconium oxide has caused no pronounced effect on the development of surface area while barium hydroxide showed adverse effect and caused a decline in porosity

Removal of benzothiophene was studied with pseudomonas putida. Crude oil distillates were inoculated with p. putida and desulphurization activity was studied as a function of inoculation time. Significant amount of benzothiophene has been depleted in reaction time of 12 hours in all the three distillates studied. The depletion observed was 58.38 %, 60.90 % and 59.29 %, in case of light, middle and heavy fractions, respectively. Benzothiophene was concentrated mostly in the heavy fraction (570 ppm) followed by medium fraction (440 ppm), followed by light fraction (334 ppm).
