Abstract In this paper, the relationship between Kernel average misorientation (KAM), geometrically necessary dislocation (GND) density and dislocation structures of Nb-bearing austenitic stainless steel under low cycle fatigue (LCF) was studied at 600°C at the total strain amplitude ranged from 0.3% to 1.0%. The results based on EBSD analysis show that the GND density in fatigue specimens gradually increases with the increase of strain amplitude. Under LCF loading, the dislocation structures are mainly planar slip bands (PSBs) and the cell structures. With the increase of strain amplitude, the number of PSBs increases with decrease in width, and the average diameter of cells also decreases. The PSBs originate due to the dynamic strain aging (DSA) effect, and DSA is more significant under high strain amplitude. The average diameter of cell structures has a specific relationship with GND density.

ABSTRACT Objective: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of bipolar transurethral enucleation and resection of the prostate (B-TUERP) versus bipolar transurethral resection of the prostate (B-TURP) in the treatment of prostates larger than 60g. Material and Methods: Clinical data for 270 BPH patients who underwent B-TUERP and 204 patients who underwent B-TURP for BPH from May 2007 to May 2013 at our center were retrospectively analyzed. Outcome measures included operative time, decreased hemoglobin level, total prostate specific antigen (TPSA), International Prostate Symptom Score (IPSS), maximal urinary flow rate (Qmax), quality of life (QoL) score, post void residual urine volume (RUV), bladder irrigation duration, hospital stay, and the weight of resected prostatic tissue. Other measures included perioperative complications including transurethral resection syndrome (TURS), hyponatremia, blood transfusion, bleeding requiring surgery, postoperative acute urinary retention, urine incontinence and urinary sepsis. Patients in both groups were followed for two years. Results: Compared with the B-TURP group, the B-TUERP group had shorter operative time, postoperative bladder irrigation duration and hospital stay, a greater amount of resected prostatic tissue, less postoperative hemoglobin decrease, better postoperative IPSS and Qmax, as well as lower incidences of hyponatremia, urinary sepsis, blood transfusion requirement, urine incontinence and reoperation (P<0.05 for all). Conclusions: B-TUERP is superior to B-TURP in the management of large volume BPH in terms of efficacy and safety, but this finding needs to be validated in further prospective, randomized, controlled studies.

Neste trabalho descreve-se a preparação de seis corantes cianina dimetina trinucleares com núcleos de piridina, obtidos a partir da condensação de iodeto de trimetilpiridínio com aldeídos aromáticos heterocíclicos. As propriedades de absorção e fluorescência dos corantes foram estudadas em solventes com polaridades diferentes. O deslocamento hipsocrômico dos máximos de absorção dos corantes foi observado com o aumento da polaridade do solvente. Foram estudadas as propriedades fluorescentes dos corantes em solução e na presença de DNA. Foi observado um aumento significativo do rendimento quântico de fluorescência na presença de DNA para quatro corantes.. Em particular, um dos corantes emite fluorescência fraca no tampão Tris-HCl, apresentando contudo fluorescência intensa na presença de DNA.

The preparation of six trinucleus dimethine cyanine dyes with pyridine nucleus obtained by the condensation of trimethylpyridinium iodides with heterocyclic aromatic aldehyde was described. The absorption and fluorescence properties of the dyes were studied in different polarity solvents. Blue shift of the maxima absorption of the dyes was observed with the increase of solvents polarity. The fluorescence properties of the dyes in solution and in presence of DNA were studied. Significant enhancement of the fluorescent quantum yield was observed in four dyes in the presence of DNA. Specially, one of six dyes emitted weak fluorescence in Tris-HCl buffer, but displayed bright fluorescence in the presence of DNA.
