Abstract Introduction with the technological advance in dentistry, light-polymerized three-dimensional (3D) printing resins had become an alternative for the manufacture of occlusal splint splints. Objective the present study aimed to analyze the flexural strength of a resin for 3D printing compared to conventional acrylic resins (chemically activated and thermally activated), under the influence of thermocycling. Material and method 60 specimens were made, which were distributed in six experimental groups (n = 10), according to the resin employed (chemically activated acrylic resin, thermally activated acrylic resin and 3D printing resin) and the treatment received (control and thermocycling). The specimens were submitted to flexural strength by the three-point flexural test. Result data analysis showed that the material factor (<0.0001) and the thermocycling factor (p = 0.0096) influenced flexural strength, however, the interaction between the two factors did not (p = 0.9728). Conclusion it was concluded that 3D printing resins presented the lowest flexural resistance to acrylic resins, especially when submitted to thermocycling.

Resumo Introdução com o avanço tecnológico dentro da odontologia, as resinas fotopolimerizáveis para impressão tridimensional (3D) se tornaram uma alternativa para a fabricação de dispositivos interoclusais. Objetivo o presente trabalho teve como objetivo analisar a resistência flexural de uma resina para impressão tridimensional comparada com resinas acrílicas convencionais (quimicamente ativada e termicamente ativada), sob a influência da termociclagem. Material e método foram confeccionados 60 corpos de prova, que foram distribuídos aleatoriamente em seis grupos experimentais (n=10), de acordo com a resina utilizada (resina acrílica ativada quimicamente, resina acrílica ativada termicamente e resina para impressão 3D) e com o tratamento recebido (controle e termociclagem). Os corpos de prova foram submetidos ao ensaio de flexão de três pontos para determinação da resistência flexural. Resultado a análise dos dados demonstrou que o fator material (<0.0001) e o fator termociclagem (p=0.0096) influenciaram a resistência flexural, entretanto, a interação entre os dois fatores não (p=0.9728). Conclusão deste modo podemos concluir que a resina para impressão 3D apresentou desempenho inferior às resinas acrílicas, especialmente quando submetida a termociclagem.

Abstract Paper aims This paper aims to discuss how Remote Collaboration Tools (RCT) can support and contribute to Action Research (AR) applications in operations management research. Originality Researchers shall capture the complexity of studied phenomena when conducting AR. Although, there is a lack of information regarding the use of RCT in AR. Hence, this paper provides original and comprehensive guidelines for the application of RCT in AR. Research method This paper provides an ex-post analysis of two face-to-face AR cases, based on the steps proposed by Coughlan and Coughlan (2002). Based on the ex-post analysis, it explains ex-ante and how RCT can impact and contribute to AR on operations management. Main findings The paper presents reflections, insights and guidance about the impacts of RCT in AR. RCT allow possibilities for continuity and efficient use of resources in AR. Although, when choosing RCT, special efforts should be put into team building and engagement. Implications for theory and practice The description of how the RCT can be used in the AR cycle can contribute to theory based on empirical results as guidance to increase value considering AR quality criteria. We intend to provide material for the advance of the field of Operations, Production and Management, theoretically and practically.

Abstract Brazil has the most populous and biodiverse semi-arid region in the world (Brazilian Semi-arid - SAB). However, in recent decades, clusters of desertification have emerged, a problem that could intensify from climate change. The objective of this study was to elaborate on the spatial distribution of areas susceptible to climatic desertification in the SAB, considering future climate change scenarios. Understanding this dynamic is essential for SAB's agri-environmental management. Aridity indices and proposition of climate classes for current condition (1970-2000) and future scenarios (2061-2080) of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) were prepared, considering scenarios from Shared Socioeconomic Pathways: Optimistic (SSP 126) and pessimists (SSP 585). The results indicate that by the end of the century, the climate in the SAB should become significantly drier (Kruskal-Wallis = p-value < 0.05), with an intensification of the aridity index in SSP 585. In the scenarios, the expansion of more arid areas over humid climates could reach 56,500 km2 (10%) in SSP 126 and 140,400 km2 (24%) in SSP 585. Consequently, areas with high (622,400 km2 to 706,300 km2) and very high (622,400 km2 to 706,300 km2) are expected to expand. 4,400 to 21,700 km2) susceptibility to climate desertification in the SAB, respectively in scenarios SSPs 126 and 585. Confirming these projections would imply socioeconomic and ecological risks in the SAB.

Resumo O Brasil possui a região semiárida mais populosa e de maior biodiversidade do mundo (Semiárido Brasileiro - SAB). No entanto, nas últimas décadas, núcleos de desertificação têm surgido, um problema que pode intensificar a partir de mudanças climáticas. O objetivo desse estudo foi elaborar a distribuição espacial das áreas suscetíveis à desertificação climática no SAB, considerando cenários futuros de mudanças do clima. O entendimento dessa dinâmica é algo essencial para a gestão agroambiental do SAB. Foram elaborados índices de aridez e proposição de classes climáticas para condição atual (1970-2000) e cenários futuros (2061-2080) do Painel Intergovernamental sobre Mudanças Climáticas (IPCC), levando em conta cenários do Caminhos Socioeconômicos Compartilhados: otimistas (SSP 126) e pessimistas (SSP 585). Os resultados indicam que até o final do século, o clima no SAB deverá tornar-se significativamente mais seco (Kruskal-Wallis = p-value < 0,05), com intensificação do índice de aridez no SSP 585. Nos cenários, a expansão de áreas mais áridas sobre climas úmidos pode alcançar 56.500 km2 (10%) no SSP 126 e 140,400 km2 (24%) no SSP 585. Consequentemente, espera-se expansão das áreas com alta (622,400 km2 a 706,300 km2) e muito alta (4,400 a 21,700 km2) suscetibilidade à desertificação climática no SAB, respectivamente nos cenários SSPs 126 e 585. Confirmando essas projeções, implicaria em riscos socioeconômicos e ecológicos no SAB.

Abstract Knowledge on the scientific production that has been elaborated over the years makes it possible for the scientific community to be aware of which areas have shown greater consolidation and which areas need greater investment. It is with this perspective that co-authorship networks can contribute, diagnosing the scenario, allowing the identification of thought collectives, as well as the authors who have been responsible for knowledge dissemination. In view of the relevance of BOLEMA for research in Mathematics Education at the national and international levels, this article presents a qualitative, bibliographic, and exploratory research concerning the areas and authors of the productions of articles approved from 1985 to 2021, with a total of 1,159 published articles, in order to contribute to the identification of the likely collectives of thought and the main authors in this scenario of knowledge diffusion. As a result, BOLEMA's co-authorship network is presented and we hope that this work can contribute to the scientific community to facilitate new connections between authors who publish similar studies, thus strengthening scientific production, in addition to subsidizing other researchers’ knowledge about authors and their research topics, thus fostering the emergence of new co-authorship partnerships and the increase in knowledge diffusion circles.

Resumo Conhecer a produção científica que vem sendo elaborada ao longo dos anos possibilita que a comunidade científica esteja ciente sobre quais áreas têm apresentado uma maior consolidação e quais áreas precisam de um maior investimento. É nessa perspectiva que as redes de coautoria podem contribuir, diagnosticando o cenário, permitindo a identificação dos coletivos de pensamento, bem como os autores que vêm sendo responsáveis pela difusão do conhecimento. Tendo em vista a relevância do BOLEMA para as pesquisas em Educação Matemática em âmbito nacional e internacional, este artigo traz uma pesquisa de cunho qualitativo, bibliográfico e exploratório referente às áreas e aos autores das produções de artigos aprovados de 1985 até 2021, sendo um total de 1159 artigos publicados, de forma a contribuir na identificação dos prováveis coletivos de pensamento e os principais autores neste cenário de difusão do conhecimento. Como resultado, é apresentada a rede de coautoria do BOLEMA e espera-se que este trabalho possa contribuir com a comunidade científica para facilitar novas conexões entre autores que publicam estudos semelhantes, dessa forma fortalecendo a produção científica, além de subsidiar aos demais pesquisadores o conhecimento sobre autores e seus temas de pesquisa, fomentando assim o surgimento de novas parcerias de coautoria e o aumento dos círculos de difusão do conhecimento.

Abstract The internal structure of seeds is relevant to germination, seedling establishment, and early plant growth. The objective of this work was to evaluate whether internal seed structure can influence germination and initial growth in four native woody species of the Cerrado. The species chosen for this study were Anadenanthera falcata, Stryphnodendron adstringens, Stryphnodendron polyphyllum, and Tabebuia aurea. Seeds were dissected to evaluate: the lengths of the hypocotyl-radicular axis, the epicotyl and the embryonic axis, mass of the cotyledons and the embryonic axis, and eophyll number (preformed organs). Another group of seeds was germinated in a greenhouse for sixty days to verify the emergence of the epicotyl, eophylls, metaphylls, and to measure seedling biomass. Only A. falcata presented a plumule with differentiated eophylls. Anadenanthera falcata germinated before the other species in the greenhouse and had faster epicotyl and leaf emergence. Possibly, the presence of eophylls inside the seed enabled A. falcata seedlings to carry out photosynthesis, grow faster, and accumulate more aerial biomass than the other species soon after emergence. The presence of eophylls in a differentiated embryo (as in A. falcata) may hasten germination and favour seedling establishment.

Abstract In this study, we aimed to evaluate the halitosis and pain threshold of the peri-implant soft tissues in individuals rehabilitated with implant-supported prostheses. Forty-eight subjects were divided into four groups (n = 12) according to their prosthetic rehabilitation: single-tooth fixed prosthesis, multi-tooth fixed prosthesis, overdentures, and the Brånemark protocol. Halitosis was measured using a halimeter, whereas the pain threshold was measured using Von Frey monofilaments. Measurements were taken before (t0) and 30 days after (t1) placement of healing caps, and at the time of (t2) and 30 days after (t3) prosthetic placement. Halitosis data were analyzed using the chi-square test and Bonferroni correction (p < 0.05). Two-way ANOVA and Tukey’s test (p < 0.05) were used to analyze pain threshold data. We noted an association between halitosis and time for the Brånemark protocol [X2(6) = 18.471; p = 0.005] and overdenture groups [X2(6) = 17.732; p = 0.007], and between halitosis and type of prosthesis only at t0 [X2(6) = 12.894; p = 0.045]. The interaction between time and the type of prosthesis significantly interfered with the mean pain threshold values (p = 0.001). At most time points, the majority of participants in each group had clinically unacceptable halitosis. After 30 days of using the prostheses, the overdenture group had a lower pain threshold compared to the Brånemark protocol group.

Resumo Este estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a halitose e o limiar de dor dos tecidos moles peri-implantares em indivíduos reabilitados com próteses implantossuportadas. Um total de 48 indivíduos foram divididos em quatro grupos (n=12), de acordo com as reabilitações: prótese fixa unitária, prótese fixa multidentária, sobredentadura e protocolo de Brånemark. A halitose foi medida com um halímetro, enquanto o limiar de dor foi medido com monofilamentos de von Frey. As medições foram feitas antes (t0) e 30 dias após (t1) a colocação das tampas de cicatrização e no momento (t2) e 30 dias após (t3) a colocação da prótese. Os dados de halitose foram analisados por meio do teste qui-quadrado e correção de Bonferroni (p < 0,05). ANOVA de duas vias e o teste de Tukey (p < 0,05) foram usados para analisar os dados do limiar de dor. Observou-se associação entre halitose e tempo para o protocolo de Brånemark [X2(6) = 18,471; p = 0,005] e grupos overdenture [X2(6) = 17,732; p = 0,007], e entre halitose e tipo de prótese apenas em t0 [X2(6) = 12,894; p = 0,045]. A interação entre o tempo e o tipo de prótese interferiu significativamente nos valores médios do limiar de dor (p = 0,001). Na maioria dos pontos de tempos, a maioria dos participantes de cada grupo apresentava halitose clinicamente inaceitável. Após 30 dias de uso das próteses, o grupo overdenture apresentou menor limiar de dor em comparação ao grupo do protocolo de Brånemark.

Este estudo investigou os fatores associados à morbidade materna grave entre mulheres atendidas em maternidades públicas do Município de Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brasil. Trata-se de um estudo quantitativo, analítico, transversal. Participaram 1.098 puérperas com parto em uma das quatro maternidades públicas do município. A coleta de dados ocorreu entre 3 de agosto de 2015 e 2 de fevereiro de 2016, a partir de entrevistas face a face, obtenção de informações dos prontuários e dos cartões da gestante. Para a análise de dados, considerou-se como variável dependente a ocorrência de morbidade materna grave, ou seja, quando a mulher era classificada como near miss materno ou condição potencialmente ameaçadora à vida a partir dos critérios de elegibilidade da Organização Mundial de Saúde. Calculou-se a razão do near miss materno, odds ratio (OR), intervalo de 95% de confiança (IC95%) e regressão logística múltipla. A razão do near miss materno foi de 3,6 casos por mil nascidos vivos. As complicações ocorreram principalmente na gravidez (53,8%) e os distúrbios hipertensivos foram os mais frequentes (49,4%). A análise de regressão múltipla mostrou associação entre morbidade materna grave e gestação de risco (OR = 4,5; IC95%: 2,7-7,7) e com trabalho de parto induzido (OR = 2,1; IC95%: 1,2-3,9). A ocorrência de morbidade materna grave, principalmente na gestação, com destaque para as síndromes hipertensivas, aponta para a necessidade de melhor rastreamento e manejo da elevação dos níveis pressóricos no pré-natal. A associação entre morbidade materna grave e gestação de risco também remonta ao pré-natal, para a demanda de uma maior atenção às mulheres classificadas como risco gestacional. A qualidade da assistência é ponto chave para o enfretamento da morbimortalidade materna no país.

This study investigated the factors associated with serious maternal morbidity (SMM) in women seen at public maternity hospitals in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo State, Brazil. This was a cross-section analytical quantitative study. Participation included 1,098 postpartum women who had given birth at one of the four maternity hospitals in the municipality. Data were collected from August 3, 2015, to February 2, 2016, using face-to-face interviews and data obtained from patient records and prenatal cards. The dependent variable for data analysis was the serious maternal morbidity, that is, when the woman was classified as maternal near miss or potentially life-threatening condition based on WHO eligibility criteria. The study calculated the maternal near miss ratio, odds ratio (OR), 95% confidence interval (95%CI), and multiple logistic regression. The maternal near miss ratio was 3.6 cases per 1,000 live births. Complications occurred mainly during pregnancy (53.8%), and hypertensive disorders were the most frequent (49.4%). Multiple regression analysis showed an association between serious maternal morbidity and high-risk pregnancy (OR = 4.5, 95%CI: 2.7-7.7) and induced labor (OR = 2.1, 95%CI: 1.2-3.9). The occurrence of serious maternal morbidity mainly during pregnancy, featuring hypertensive syndromes, points to the need for better screening and management of high blood pressure in the prenatal period. The association between serious maternal morbidity and high-risk pregnancy also calls attention to prenatal care, for the demand for greater care for women classified as having gestational risk. Quality of care is a key point for dealing with maternal morbidity and mortality in Brazil.

Este estudio investigó los factores asociados a la morbilidad materna grave entre mujeres atendidas en maternidades públicas del municipio de Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo, Brasil. Se trata de un estudio cuantitativo, analítico, transversal. Participaron 1.098 puérperas con parto en una de las cuatro maternidades públicas del municipio. La recogida de datos se produjo entre el 3 de agosto de 2015 al 2 de febrero de 2016, mediante entrevistas cara a cara, obtención de información de los historiales y cartillas de las gestantes. Para el análisis de datos, se consideró como variable dependiente la ocurrencia de morbilidad materna grave, o sea, cuando la mujer era clasificada como near miss materno o condición potencialmente amenazadora para la vida, a partir de los criterios de elegibilidad de la Organización Mundial de Salud. Se calculó la razón del near miss materno, odds ratio (OR), intervalo de 95% de confianza (IC95%) y regresión logística múltiple. La razón de near miss materno fue de 3,6 casos por 1.000 nacidos vivos. Las complicaciones se produjeron principalmente en el embarazo (53,8%) y las alteraciones hipertensivas fueron las más frecuentes (49,4%). El análisis de regresión múltiple mostró asociación entre morbilidad materna grave y gestación de riesgo (OR = 4,5; IC95%: 2,7-7,7) y con trabajo de parto inducido (OR = 2,1; IC95%: 1,2-3,9). La ocurrencia de morbilidad materna grave, principalmente en la gestación, resaltando los síndromes hipertensivos, apunta la necesidad de un mejor rastreo y gestión de la elevación de los niveles presión arterial en el período prenatal. La asociación entre morbilidad materna grave y gestación de riesgo también se remonta al período prenatal, con el fin de que se preste una mayor atención a las mujeres clasificadas como de riesgo gestacional. La calidad de la asistencia es un punto clave para combatir la morbimortalidad materna en el país.

Resumo O presente estudo teve como objetivo avaliar a distribuição espacial de briófitas ocorrentes na Ilha de Mosqueiro, na Amazônia. Foram selecionadas 41 parcelas de 100 m² em ambientes alagados e não alagados para coleta de dados. Os resultados foram comparados com os levantamentos de outras ilhas do estado do Pará e analisados segundo frequência de populações, substratos colonizados, guildas de tolerância à luz e distribuição nos biomas brasileiros. Foram registradas 97 espécies, distribuídas em 36 gêneros e 18 famílias, sendo 57 (58,7%) hepáticas e 40 (41,2%) espécies de musgo. As espécies raras se destacaram com 53 espécies (54,08%). Observou-se alta similaridade entre as comunidades corticícolas e epíxilas, e entre a comunidade terrícola e com as briófitas encontradas crescendo no carvão, que é um substrato artificial. Em relação às guildas de tolerância à luz, prevaleceu a espécie generalista (52 espécies, 53,6%). Quanto à distribuição fitogeográfica, houve predomínio de espécies com ocorrência na Amazônia e Mata Atlântica (35 espécies, 37,11%) e espécies endêmicas da Amazônia (10 espécies, 10,3%). Ceratolejeunea ceratantha é relatada pela primeira vez para o estado do Pará. O nível de antropização na ilha foi evidenciado principalmente pela alta riqueza e ocorrência de espécies generalistas e bem adaptadas às condições de estresse, evidenciando alterações na estrutura da comunidade de briófitas.

Abstract The present study is aimed to evaluate the richness, composition and spatial distribution of bryophytes occurring in Mosqueiro Island, in the Amazon forest. Forty-one 100-m² plots in 37 flooded and 4 non-flooded environments were selected for data collection, all substrate found were considered. The results were compared with surveys in other islands from the state of Pará and were analyzed according to frequency of populations, colonized substrates, light tolerance guilds, and distribution in Brazilian biomes. Ninety-seven species were recorded, distributed in 36 genera and 17 families, being 57 (58.7%) liverwort and 40 (41.2%) moss species. The rare species stood out with 53 species (54.08%). High similarity was observed between corticolous and epixylic communities, and between the terricolous community and the bryophytes found growing on charcoal, which is an artificial substrate. In relation to light tolerance guilds, generalist species prevailed (52 species, 53.6%). As for phytogeographic distribution, there was a predominance of taxa with occurrence in the Amazon and Atlantic rainforest (35 species, 37.11%). Ceratolejeunea ceratantha is reported for the first time for the state of Pará. The level of anthropization in the island was showed mainly by high richness and occurrence of generalist species underscores and well-adapted species to stressed conditions, evidencing changes in the bryophyte community structure.

RESUMO OBJETIVO Investigar desigualdades de gênero na produção científica de docentes da Universidade de São Paulo. MÉTODOS A população consiste em professores(as) da Universidade de São Paulo. O repositório Web of Science foi a fonte das métricas de publicação. Selecionamos as medidas: total de publicações e citações, média de citações por ano e por item, índice H e histórico de citações entre 1950 e 2019. Usamos o nome do(a) docente como um proxy para a identidade de gênero. Usamos estatísticas descritivas para caracterizar as métricas. Avaliamos o efeito tesoura selecionando os(as) professores(as) com índice H alto. A série histórica de citações foi projetada até 2100. Realizamos análises para a população geral e subgrupos de tempo de trabalho: menos de 10 anos, de 10 a 20 anos e 20 anos ou mais. RESULTADOS Dos 8.325 docentes, incluímos 3.067 (36,8%). Dentre os incluídos, 1.893 (61,7%) eram professores e 1.174 (38,28%) professoras. O gênero masculino apresentou valores mais altos nas métricas de publicação (média de artigos: M = 67,0 versus F = 49,7; média de citações/ano: M = 53,9 versus F = 35,9) e índice H (M = 14,5 versus F = 12,4). Entre os 100 indivíduos com maior índice H (≥ 37), 83% são do gênero masculino. Na série histórica de citações, a curva masculina cresce mais rápido, abrindo uma diferença entre os grupos com afastamento confirmado pela projeção. DISCUSSÃO A produção científica na Universidade de São Paulo está sujeita a um viés de gênero. Dois terços do corpo docente são do gênero masculino, e as contratações das últimas décadas perpetuam esse padrão. A grande maioria dos membros com alto impacto no corpo docente é do sexo masculino. CONCLUSÃO Nossas análises sugerem que a Universidade de São Paulo não superará a desigualdade de gênero na produção científica sem uma ação afirmativa substancial. O desenvolvimento não acontece por acaso, mas por meio de escolhas afirmativas, decisivas e de longo prazo.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE To investigate gender inequity in the scientific production of the University of Sao Paulo. METHODS Members of the University of Sao Paulo faculty are the study population. The Web of Science repository was the source of the publication metrics. We selected the measures: total publications and citations, average of citations per year and item, H-index, and history of citations between 1950 and 2019. We used the name of the faculty member as a proxy to the gender identity. We use descriptive statistics to characterize the metrics. We evaluated the scissors effect by selecting faculty members with a high H-index. The historical series of citations was projected until 2100. We carry out analyses for the general population and working time subgroups: less than 10 years, 10 to 20 years, and 20 years or more. RESULTS Of the 8,325 faculty members, we included 3,067 (36.8%). Among those included, 1,893 (61.7%) were male and 1,174 (38.28%) female. The male gender presented higher values in the publication metrics (average of articles: M = 67.0 versus F = 49.7; average of citations/year: M = 53.9 versus F = 35.9), and H-index (M = 14.5 versus F = 12.4). Among the 100 individuals with the highest H-index (≥ 37), 83% are male. The male curve grows faster in the historical series of citations, opening a difference between the groups whose separation is confirmed by the projection. DISCUSSION Scientific production at the Universidade de São Paulo is subject to a gender bias. Two-thirds of the faculty are male, and hiring over the past few decades perpetuates this pattern. The large majority of high impact faculty members are male. CONCLUSION Our analysis suggests that the Universidade de São Paulo will not overcome gender inequality in scientific production without substantive affirmative action. Development does not happen by chance but through choices that are affirmative, decisive, and long-term oriented.

Abstract INTRODUCTION: This epidemiological household survey aimed to estimate the prevalence of the current and past SARS-CoV-2 infections in Ribeirão Preto, a municipality of southeast Brazil. METHODS: The survey was conducted in two phases using a clustered sampling scheme. The first phase spanned May 1-3 and involved 709 participants. The second phase spanned June 11-14, 2020, and involved 646 participants. RESULTS: During the first phase, RT-PCR performed on nasopharyngeal swabs was positive at 0.14%. The serological tests were positive in 1.27% of the patients during the first phase and 2.79% during the second phase. People living in households with more than five members had a prevalence of 10.83% (95%CI: 1.58-74.27) higher than those living alone or with someone other. Considering the proportion of the positive serological test results with sex and age adjustments, approximately 2.37% (95%CI: 1.32-3.42) of the population had been cumulatively infected by mid-June 2020, which is equivalent to 16,670 people (95%CI: 9,267-24,074). Considering that 68 deaths from the disease in the residents of the city had been confirmed as at the date of the second phase of the survey, the infection fatality rate was estimated to be 0.41% (95%CI: 0.28-0.73). Our results suggest that approximately 88% of the cases of SARS-CoV-2 infection at the time of the survey were not reported to the local epidemiological surveillance service. CONCLUSIONS: The findings of this study provide in-depth knowledge of the COVID-19 pandemic in Brazil and are helpful for the preventive and decision-making policies of public managers.

Resumo O Brasil é a segunda nação em número absoluto de novos casos de hanseníase no mundo. O país apresenta muitas regiões altamente endêmicas para a doença, como é caso do estado de Goiás. O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar as tendências temporais dos indicadores de hanseníase em Goiás, entre 2006 e 2015. Este estudo demonstrou uma tendência significativa de declínio para o coeficiente de detecção. Embora a macrorregião do Centro-Oeste do estado tenha apresentado a maior ocorrência absoluta de casos, o Nordeste do estado apresenta a pior situação epidemiológica, com aumento no número de casos de pacientes com incapacidades físicas e menores de 14 anos. Os dados mostraram, ainda, que há um aumento nos casos de pacientes com deformidades físicas em quase todas as macrorregiões do estado, indicativo de diagnóstico tardio. É muito importante que haja uma formação mais efetiva e contínua dos profissionais de saúde das unidades não centralizadas, para um controle real da hanseníase como problema de saúde pública no estado. Além disso, uma atenção especial deve ser dada às regiões mais pobres do estado, que apresentaram uma tendência de aumento no diagnóstico de pacientes menores de 14 anos e com incapacidades físicas causadas pela hanseníase.

Abstract Brazil is the second nation in absolute number of new cases of leprosy in the world. The country presents many regions highly endemic to the disease, as is the case of the Goiás. The present study aims to analyze the temporal trends of leprosy indicators in Goiás between 2006 and 2015. This study showed a significant trend of decline for the coefficient of detection. Although the central-western region of the state presented the highest absolute number of cases, the Northeast of the state presents the worst epidemiological situation, with an increase in the number of cases of patients with physical disabilities and those under 14 years of age. The data also showed that there is an increase in the cases of patients with physical deformities in almost all macroregions of the state, indicative of late diagnosis. It is very important that there is a more effective and continuous training of the health professionals of the non-centralized units, for a real control of leprosy as a public health problem in the state. In addition, special attention should be given to the poorer regions of the state, which have shown a tendency to increase the diagnosis of patients younger than 14 years and with physical disabilities caused by leprosy.
