ABSTRACT Purpose The objective of this study was to validate the Multiprofessional Screening Instrument for Broncho-aspiration Risk in Hospital Environment, which is aimed at the elderly population, based on response processes. Methods Judges applied the instrument to different patients and randomly selected. After the application, the judges were interviewed so that it was possible to verify their impression regarding the relevance of the items about their interpretation of the written content, as well as grammatical and semantic issues. Suggestions for adding alternative questions and answers were considered, as well as proposals for adapting the questions that made up the instrument. Non-verbal reactions, such as facial expressions that suggested doubts or hesitations, by the judges concerning the instrument were also analyzed. Results The agreement of the judges concerning each item of the device was calculated by the Content Validity Index (CVI) and by the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC), and their results showed a high level of agreement. Through the suggestions of the judges, a new version of the Multi-professional Screening Instrument for the Risk of Broncho-aspiration in a Hospital Environment in the Elderly was elaborated. Conclusion The results obtained showed that the validity of the Multi-professional Instrument for Screening the Risk of Broncho-aspiration in the Hospital Environment with the elderly population, based on the response processes, was achieved and makes it a promising device to assist professionals in hospital care for the elderly.

RESUMO Objetivo O objetivo deste estudo foi validar, com base nos processos de resposta, o Instrumento Multiprofissional de Rastreio para o Risco de Broncoaspiração em Ambiente Hospitalar, direcionado à população idosa. Método O instrumento foi aplicado por juízes em pacientes distintos e selecionados de forma aleatória. Após a aplicação, os juízes foram entrevistados para que fosse possível verificar a impressão deles quanto à relevância dos itens e quanto a interpretação sobre o conteúdo escrito, bem como a questões gramaticais e semânticas. Foram consideradas sugestões de acréscimo de alternativas de perguntas e de respostas, além de propostas de adequação de questões que compunham o instrumento. As reações não verbais, tais como expressões faciais que sugeriram dúvidas ou hesitações, por parte dos juízes, em relação ao instrumento, também foram analisadas. Resultados A concordância dos juízes em relação a cada item do dispositivo foi calculada pelo Índice de Validade de Conteúdo (IVC), e pelo Coeficiente de Correlação Intraclasse (CCI), sendo que seus resultados demonstraram alto nível de concordância. Através das sugestões dos juízes, elaborou-se uma nova versão do Instrumento Multiprofissional de Rastreio para o Risco de Broncoaspiração em Ambiente Hospitalar à população idosa. Conclusão Os resultados obtidos demonstraram que a validade do Instrumento Multiprofissional para Rastreio do Risco de Broncoaspiração em Ambiente Hospitalar junto à população idosa, baseada nos processos de respostas, foi alcançada.

ABSTRACT Purpose To understand the meanings that the therapeutic bond assumes for clinical speech therapists. Methods The research was approved by the Ethics Committee, being of a transversal character, with a quantitative-qualitative approach in the Content Analysis. The research with the participation of 96 clinical speech therapists, registered in the Speech Therapy Council of the 3rd region (CRFa 3), which covers the States of Paraná and Santa Catarina. Results Of the 96 speech therapists included, a significant part of the participants defined the therapeutic bond as a relationship/interaction. Regarding the role of the bond for the speech therapy clinical work, most professionals declared theirs as a fundamental basis and another part of the bond is necessary for the evolution/development of the patient. Conclusion It is possible to understand that, according to the therapeutic patients, it is essential to sustain, maintain the clinical work for users, impacting the resignification of the complaint and the minimization of the users' suffering.

RESUMO Objetivo Compreender os sentidos que o vínculo terapêutico assume para fonoaudiólogos clínicos. Método A pesquisa foi aprovada por Comitê de ética, sendo de caráter transversal, de abordagem quanti-qualitativa, pautada na Análise do Conteúdo. A pesquisa contou com a participação de 96 profissionais fonoaudiólogos clínicos, inscritos no Conselho de Fonoaudiologia da 3ª região (CRFa 3), o qual abrange os Estados do Paraná e de Santa Catarina. Resultados Dos 96 fonoaudiólogos incluídos, parte significativa dos participantes definiram o vínculo terapêutico como sendo relação/interação. Referente ao papel do vínculo para o trabalho clínico fonoaudiológico, a maioria dos profissionais o descreveu como base fundamental e outra parte deles afirmou que tal vínculo é necessário para a evolução/desenvolvimento do paciente. Conclusão É possível compreender que, de acordo com os participantes, a relação terapêutica é essencial para a sustentação e manutenção do trabalho clínico fonoaudiológico, impactando na ressignificação da queixa e na minimização do sofrimento dos usuários.

ABSTRACT Purpose to analyze the difficulties and facilities reported by Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology in cases of domestic violence against children and/or adolescents. Methods cross-sectional research, carried out through the application of questionnaires with speech therapists from Paraná and Santa Catarina. Professionals from the clinical field who assisted children and adolescents were included, and speech therapists who only assisted adults and the elderly were excluded. The data were explored through the Content Analysis methodology. Results 75 Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology were included, 70.7% from Paraná and 29.3% from Santa Catarina. Of the participants, 52% assisted children and/or adolescents with suspected or confirmed cases of violence. In the content analysis, the results were allocated on a single axis subdivided into three thematic sub-axes: 1.1 professionals who did not report difficulties or facilities, sub-axis 1.2 the facilities and sub-axis 1.3 the difficulties. Conclusion The facilities of the Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology in caring for victims of child and youth intrafamily violence are related to a good therapeutic bond between the patient and/or family members and adequate multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary and network work. The difficulties in Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology care for children and adolescents victims of violence are related to the dialogue with the family, the support bodies, the frequency of the patient, the elaboration of therapeutic strategies, and the lack of professional and psychological preparation of the speech therapist.

RESUMO Objetivo analisar as dificuldades e facilidades relatadas por fonoaudiólogos em casos de violência intrafamiliar contra crianças e/ou adolescentes. Métodos pesquisa transversal, realizada por meio da aplicação de questionários com fonoaudiólogos do Paraná e Santa Catarina. Foram incluídos profissionais que prestavam atendimentos clínicos voltados a crianças e adolescentes, sendo excluídos fonoaudiólogos que atendiam apenas adultos e idosos. Os dados foram explorados por meio da metodologia de Análise do Conteúdo. Resultados foram incluídos 75 fonoaudiólogos, sendo 70,7% do Paraná e 29,3% de Santa Catarina. Dos participantes, 52% atenderam crianças e/ou, adolescentes com casos suspeitos ou confirmados de violência. Na análise de conteúdo, os resultados foram alocados em um único eixo, subdividido em três subeixos temáticos: 1.1 profissionais que não relataram dificuldades ou facilidades, subeixo 1.2 as facilidades e subeixo 1.3 as dificuldades. Conclusão as facilidades do fonoaudiólogo no atendimento às vítimas de violência intrafamiliar infantil e juvenil estão relacionadas ao bom vínculo terapêutico com paciente e/ou familiares, ao adequado trabalho multidisciplinar/interdisciplinar e em rede. Já as dificuldades no atendimento fonoaudiológico voltado a crianças e adolescentes vítimas de violência são relativas ao diálogo com a família, aos órgãos de apoio, à frequência do paciente, à elaboração de estratégias terapêuticas e à falta de preparo profissional e psicológico do fonoaudiólogo.

OBJETIVO: Analisar as condições de letramento de pessoas com idade mínima de 65 anos, comparando tais condições entre idosos que têm grau de instrução compatível com nível superior completo e aqueles que não têm. MÉTODOS: Foram aplicados um questionário e um teste de leitura contendo textos de gêneros diversos a 72 sujeitos idosos residentes na cidade de Curitiba-PR. O questionário contemplou idade, nível de escolarização e práticas atuais de leitura e escrita. No teste de leitura, os sujeitos foram convocados a localizar informações explícitas e implícitas em uma fábula, um cartaz, um bilhete e uma notícia de jornal. Os dados foram categorizados e analisados por meio do software de análise estatística Sphinx (r) e como estatística inferencial foram aplicados os testes de significância Fisher e qui-quadrado. RESULTADOS: Os sujeitos da pesquisa tinham acesso fácil a diversos materiais de leitura, mas o vínculo com esses materiais ainda era deficitário. Independentemente do nível de escolaridade, constatou-se a utilização restrita de práticas relacionadas com a linguagem escrita, visto que tanto os idosos que possuíam formação superior, quanto aqueles que não a tinham apresentaram dificuldades significativas para extrair informações de textos simples. CONCLUSÃO: É necessário desenvolver atividades de intervenção que possam trabalhar com a linguagem escrita, para que sujeitos em processo de envelhecimento possam efetivamente inserir-se na sociedade grafocêntrica atual.

OBJECTIVE: This study analyzed the conditions of literacy of people aged at least 65, comparing these conditions among the elderly whose education level was compatible with higher education and those who do not. METHODS: We used a questionnaire and a reading test containing texts of various genres for 72 elderly over 65 years, living in the city of Curitiba-PR. The questionnaire included age, educational level and current practices in reading and writing. In the reading test, subjects were asked to find explicit and implicit information in four texts: a fable, a poster, a ticket and a newspaper. Data were categorized and analyzed using statistical analysis software Sphinx(r), and like inferential statistics were applied the significance tests of Fisher and chi-square. RESULTS: The study subjects had easy access to various reading materials, but the link to these materials was still lacking. Regardless of the level of education it was found the restricted use of practices related to written language, as both the elderly who have higher education, and those who do not have such training showed significant difficulties to extract information from simple texts. CONCLUSION: It is necessary to develop intervention activities that can work with written language, so that subjects in aging process can effectively insert themselves into the current society focused in the writing.

Este estudo tem como objetivo analisar o papel de um grupo de idosos no desenvolvimento de atividades voltadas à escrita de uma das participantes desse grupo, que se consolidou em função de uma Oficina de Linguagem. Trata-se de um relato de caso que partiu de um paradigma interpretativo, o qual inclui subjetividade, interesses, emoções e valores pessoais. Foram realizadas análises da transcrição da entrevista semi-estruturada realizada com uma integrante de 85 anos de uma Oficina de Linguagem, situada em Curitiba. Para a entrevistada, a Oficina é um ambiente que a engrandece, pois se sente incentivada, acolhida pelo grupo e consegue expor fatos de sua vida por meio da escrita. Foi sua participação no grupo que, segundo seus próprios relatos, despertou-lhe desejo e coragem para relembrar, reorganizar e traduzir suas histórias em palavras para serem lidas por outros. Pode-se perceber a estreita relação entre o vínculo que a entrevistada estabelece com o grupo e as suas possibilidades de produções escritas. Participar do mesmo vem gerando mudanças e transformações na forma de a entrevistada se relacionar com suas produções escritas que são elaboradas durante a organização de relatos de suas histórias de vida no e para o grupo.

The aim of this study was to analyze the role of an elderly group in the development of writing activities directed to one of the participants of this group, which was consolidated after a Language Workshop. This case report was based on an interpretative paradigm, which includes subjectivity, interests, emotions, and personal values. Transcription analyses of the semi-structured interview conducted with a n 85-year-old member of a Language Workshop from Curitiba (PR, Brazil), were performed. To the interviewee, the Workshop is an empowering environment, that makes her feel encouraged and welcome in the group, and that allow her to expose life facts through writing. It was her participation in the group that, according to her own report, awakened the desire and courage to remember, rearrange and translate her stories into words, so that others could read them. The close relationship between the bond between the interviewee and the group and her possibilities of written production is evident. Participating in the group has been generating changes and transformations in her way to relate to her written productions elaborated during the organization of reports of her life stories in the group and to the group.

TEMA: a Fonoaudiologia vem utilizando os recursos da Comunicação Suplementar e/ou Alternativa (CSA) para proporcionar maior autonomia a pessoas com limitações significativas da linguagem oral. Seu uso vem lentamente se expandindo no Brasil, mas ainda não constitui prática de amplo conhecimento na área da Fonoaudiologia. OBJETIVO: analisar a produção do conhecimento acerca da CSA publicada em periódicos especializados da área da Fonoaudiologia, no período entre 1997 e 2005. CONCLUSÃO: chega-se à conclusão que um panorama mais completo da produção científica em CSA se faz necessário com uma futura análise da produção do conhecimento acerca da CSA em outras áreas que desenvolvem estudos sobre essa temática, como na Pedagogia, Terapia Ocupacional, Fisioterapia, Psicologia, dentre outras.

BACKGROUND: speech therapy has been using the resources of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), allowing a greater autonomy of people with significant impairments in oral communication. This utilization has been expanding in Brazil, however it is still not a common practice among speech therapists. PURPOSE: to analyze knowledge production in AAC in Brazilian journals related to Speech Therapy. These journals were analyzed between 1997 and 2005. CONCLUSION: as AAC is a resource used in other academic fields, such data is not sufficient to conclude about knowledge production in AAC in general. Thus, in order to have a more complete overview in this field, the analysis of other academic fields is required, such as Pedagogy, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Psychology, among others.
