ABSTRACT The objective was to determine the physical and mechanical properties of Guadua lynnclarkiae, Guadua weberbaueri and Guadua superba. Three culms were collected from each species, later they were sectioned into three levels: stump (S), base (B) and over base (O). The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design (DCA) in a factorial scheme (3E x 3N), being factor E: bamboo species with three levels: a) Guadua lynnclarkiae, b) Guadua weberbaueri and c) Guadua superba; and the N factor: culm level with three sections a) stump, b) base and c) over base, all distributed in three repetitions and 4 test tubes for physical properties. For the mechanical properties, the same experimental design and number of repetitions were used, however, 5 test tubes were used per experimental plot. Thus, the greatest contraction of the culm wall was 23.0% in Guadua lynnclarkiae at the base level. The basic density in the three species was 0.71 g cm-3. In bending, the highest modulus of rupture was recorded in Guadua superba in stump, base and over base with 55.15; 84.49 and 73.97 MPa, respectively. In parallel compression, the MoE and MoR were 11454.35 MPa and 39.50 MPa in the three species and levels. Therefore, Guadua lynnclarkiae and Guadua weberbaueri have adequate physical and mechanical properties for different uses, including civil construction. However, in Guadua superba it is recommended to carry out subsequent studies of rigidity and resistance for its use in the construction of houses in rural and urban areas.

RESUMEN El objetivo fue determinar las propiedades físicas y mecánicas de Guadua lynnclarkiae, Guadua weberbaueri y Guadua superba. De cada especie fueron colectados tres culmos, posteriormente fueron seccionados en tres niveles: cepa (C), basa (B) y sobrebasa (SB). El experimento fue conducido en diseño de completamente al azar (DCA) en esquema factorial (3E x 3N), siendo el factor E: especies de bambú con tres niveles: a) Guadua lynnclarkiae, b) Guadua weberbaueri y c) Guadua superba; y el factor N: nivel de culmo con tres secciones a) cepa, b) basa y c) sobrebasa, todos distribuidos en tres repeticiones y 4 probetas para las propiedades físicas. Para las propiedades mecánicas fue utilizado el mismo diseño experimental y número de repeticiones, no obstante, fueron utilizados 5 probetas por parcela experimental. Así, la mayor contracción de la pared de culmo fue de 23,0% en Guadua lynnclarkiae en el nivel basa. La densidad básica en las tres especies fue de 0,71 g cm-3. En flexión, el mayor módulo de ruptura fue registrado en Guadua superba en cepa, basa y sobrebasa con 55,15; 84,49 y 73,97 MPa, respectivamente. En compresión paralela el MoE y MoR fue de 11454.35 MPa y 39,50 MPa en las tres especies y niveles. Por ello, Guadua lynnclarkiae y Guadua weberbaueri poseen propiedades físicas y mecánicas adecuadas para diferentes usos incluyendo la construcción civil. No obstante, en Guadua superba se recomienda realizar estudios posteriores de rigidez y resistencia para su uso en la construcción de viviendas en zonas rurales y urbanas.

Abstract The white ball (Guazuma crinita Mart, Meliaceae) as one of the most important species in the Ucayali region due to its rapid growth and increasing market value, makes it a competitive species when choosing species for a program of production of goods and sustainable services, therefore determining the amount of biomass plays a key role for this purpose; In this purpose, the 38 trees of G. crinita at 31 months of age, with an average diameter at the height of the base of 13.33 cm, with a maximum and minimum value of 17.4 and 10.2 cm, respectively, with a standard deviation of 1.80 cm and a variability coefficient of 13%, for an average total biomass of 28.76 Kg, with a standard deviation of 10.07 and a variability coefficient of 35%; It was determined that there is a high relationship between the independent variable diameter at the height of the base (dab) and the total aerial biomass of the trees in the Aguaytia river basin according to the biomass model ~ a*dab^b, which resulted which is predictable with the following formula Bmadab = 0.04253*dab2.5027 with R2 = 0.9397.

Resumen La bolaina blanca (Guazuma crinita Mart, Meliaceae) es una de las especies más importantes de la región Ucayali por su rápido crecimiento y creciente valor en el mercado, convirtiéndola en una especie competitiva al momento de elegir especies para un programa de producción de bienes y servicios sostenible, por ello la determinación de la cantidad de biomasa cumple un papel clave para este fin; en este contexto, fueron evaluados 38 árboles de G. crinita de 31 meses de edad, con diámetro promedio a la atura de la base de 13,33 cm, con un valor máximo y mínimo de 17,4 y 10,2 cm, respectivamente, con desviación estándar de 1,80 cm y un coeficiente de variabilidad de 13%, para una biomasa total promedio de 28,76 Kg, con una desviación estándar de 10,07 y un coeficiente de variabilidad del 35%; se determinó que en la cuenca del río Aguaytia existe una alta relación entre la variable independiente diámetro a la altura de la base (dab) y la biomasa total aérea de los árboles de acuerdo al modelo biomasa ~ a*dab^b, lo que resultó que es previsible con la siguiente fórmula Bma dab =0,04253*dab2,5027 con R2= 0,9397.

Abstract The use of allometric equations in the estimation of the commercial volume of wood allows to plan the management Forestry In that sense, the objective in this work was to select the best allometric models to estimate the volume of wood in G. crinita trees, for this, trees between 13.09 m high and 10.58 cm DAP were used on average. For the determination of the best model, the highest adjusted coefficient of determination R2 (˃ R2Aj), lower coefficient of variability (˂ CV%) and lower Furnival index (IF) were considered. Of the 17 existing allometric models for forest species, two were suitable, the model: ln (V) = a + b ln (D) (R2 = 0.93, CV = 11.93%, IF = 0.003444) and the model that uses the combined variable Log: ln (V) = a + b ln (D2*H) (R2 = 0.91, CV = 11.93%, IF = 0.003444), likewise, a third model proposed in this study: ln (V) = a + b ln (D2) + c ln (D * H) - d ln (D2*H) (R2 = 0.98, CV = 11.93%, IF = 0.003444), also presented the best fit to estimate the commercial volume of G. crinita at 31 months of age. However, the use of the Husch model is recommended, as it is easy to apply, since it only uses the diameter at chest height (DBH) as an independent variable.

Resumen El uso de ecuaciones alométricas en la estimación del volumen comercial de madera permite planificar el manejo silvicultural. En ese sentido, el objetivo en este trabajo fue seleccionar los mejores modelos alométricos para estimar el volumen de madera en árboles de G. crinita, para ello, fueron utilizados árboles entre 13,09 m de altura y 10,58 cm de DAP en media. Para la determinación del mejor modelo fueron considerados el mayor coeficiente de determinación R2 ajustado (˃ R2Aj), menor coeficiente de variabilidad (˂ CV%) y menor índice de Furnival, (IF). De los 17 modelos alométricos existentes para especies forestales, dos fueron adecuados, el modelo: ln (V) = a + b ln (D) (R2 = 0,93, CV = 11,93%, IF = 0,003444) y el modelo que utiliza la variable combinada Log: ln (V) = a + b ln (D2*H) (R2 = 0,91, CV = 11,93%, IF = 0,003444), así mismo, un tercer modelo propuesto en este estudio: ln (V) = a + b ln (D2) + c ln (D*H) - d ln (D2*H) (R2 = 0,98, CV = 11,93%, IF = 0,003444), también presentó el mejor ajuste para estimar el volumen comercial de G. crinita a los 31 meses de edad. Con todo, se recomienda el uso del modelo de Husch, por ser de fácil aplicación, puesto que utiliza apenas el diámetro a la altura del pecho (DAP) como variable independiente.
