RESUMO Este trabalho tem como objetivo discutir o valor de métodos visuais em estudos de cunho narrativo desenvolvidos dentro do escopo da Linguística Aplicada. Há um crescente interesse em métodos visuais na área como forma de melhor entender as experiências de participantes de pesquisa. Valemo-nos de nossas próprias experiências de uso métodos visuais, tais como o desenho e a linha do tempo, em estudos narrativos sobre a identidade do professor de língua inglesa. Trata-se, portanto, de uma pesquisa narrativa sobre o fazer pesquisa narrativa visual: compomos sentidos sobre esse processo, e discutimos o valor de abordagens narrativo-visuais a partir de nossas vivências e de reflexões desenvolvidas em outros estudos. Os valores formativo, empírico e analítico de métodos visuais em pesquisas narrativas são explorados. Concluímos ressaltando o potencial de métodos visuais enquanto ferramenta de reflexão, e recurso para se acessar as narrativas de experiência de participantes e identificar temas e enredos nelas articulados. ABSTRACT This paper aims to discuss the value of visual methods in narrative studies developed under the scope of Applied Linguistics. There is a growing interest in visual methods in the area as a way of better understanding research participants’ experiences. We draw on our own experiences of using visual methods, such as the drawing and the timeline, in narrative studies focusing on English teachers’ identity. It is, therefore, a narrative inquiry on conducting visual narrative research: we compose meanings about this process, and discuss the value of visual narrative approaches based on our experiences and reflections developed in other studies. The formative, empirical and analytical value of visual methods is explored. We conclude highlighting visual methods’ potential as a tool for reflection, and as a resource for accessing participants’ narratives of experience and identifying themes and threads articulated in them. RESUMO A tradução para legendas e a tradução audiovisual (TAV) como um todo, enquanto práticas linguísticas, desempenham um papel crucial na formação do imaginário social e na construção de identidades. No entanto, pouca atenção tem sido direcionada para a tradução de documentários, principalmente aqueles produzidos no chamado Sul “global” e traduzidos para outras línguas, como o inglês. Sendo assim, este trabalho tem como objetivo aprofundar a compreensão da tradução de documentários, mais especificamente com foco na tradução para legendas sob uma perspectiva transnacional, explorando a interligação entre tradução e estudos feministas. Abordaremos a importância da escuta atenta do tradutor como fator crítico na tradução de documentários produzidos a partir de narrativas pessoais. O objeto de análise compreende trechos de legendas, áudio e frames extraídos de documentários brasileiros que narram a vida e as experiências de trabalho de catadoras e catadores de materiais recicláveis (incluindo mulheres negras) em contextos de extrema pobreza. ABSTRACT Subtitling and audiovisual translation (AVT) in general, as language practices, play a crucial role in shaping social imaginary and contributing to the construction of identities. But far too little attention has been paid to the translation of documentaries, especially those produced in the so-called “global” South and translated into other languages, such as English. Therefore, this paper aims to gain a further understanding of translating documentaries, particularly looking at subtitles from a transnational perspective intertwining translation and feminist studies. We will elaborate on the importance of translators’ careful listening as a critical factor in the translation of documentaries produced based on personal narratives. The object of analysis comprises excerpts of subtitles, audio recordings, and frames extracted from Brazilian documentaries chronicling the lives and work experiences of waste pickers (including poor, Black women) set in contexts of extreme poverty. The research proposes a parallel between the story of Pandora and its many translations and interpretations and the representation of women in the subtitled versions of the documentaries, thus suggesting that such a theoretical perspective can shed light on how women’s words and works can become fertile in their difference, and perhaps their deviance. ABSTRACT Open Microphone is an art device of soirées that take place in the outskirts of Fortaleza, Ceará - Brazil. This text weaves happening writing drawn from ongoing research with artist collectives that gather at this place, where a politics of re-existence unfolds. There, the words are incorporated, imaged, and transmuted into chanting to echo the State margins and its institutions, modern-colonial-capitalist architectures, beyond the fortresses that tie the politics and the criticism to present-time colonial architecture, linear and repetitive time of necropolitics gears, power fictions which constrain outskirters’ voices. We think of voices not as abstract conceptions or as property of “voice landlords”, the “owners of sense and critics”, who come to “give voice to those forged as others”. This text draws from Poetics of Relation, by Édouard Glissant, from the radicality of fugitive Black performance, the concepts of escrevivência and re-existence, at an atmospheric thought of freedom and imagination. Hence, the text builds crossroads joining arts and the making of a poet-to-be among a sociology that is chant and flight on the marks of a moving land of “in-common” creation.

RESUMO Microfone Aberto é um dispositivo-arte dos saraus que acontecem na periferia de Fortaleza (CE). Neste texto, tecemos uma escrita-acontecimento da pesquisa que vem sendo realizada junto às coletivas de artistas que se encontram nesse espaço em relação ao qual se afirma uma política de re-existência. A palavra incorporada, imageada e transmutada em canto ecoa à margem do Estado e suas instituições, arquiteturas moderno-colonial-capitalistas, para além das fortificações que amarram a política e a crítica na arquitetura colonial do tempo presente, tempo linear e de repetição da engrenagem necropolítica das ficções de poder que cerceiam as vozes da periferia. Pensamos a voz aqui não de uma perspectiva abstrata ou tornada propriedade para os “senhores da voz”, “os donos da razão e da crítica” que chegam para “dar voz àqueles e àquelas forjados como outros”. Trabalhando com a Poética da Relação de Édouard Glissant, a radicalidade da performance preta fugitiva, os conceitos de escrevivência e re-existência em um pensamento atmosférico da liberdade e da imaginação, este texto encruzilha as artes com os fazeres de um devir-poeta no meio de uma sociologia que se faz canto e voo nas grafias de um território movente de criação de um “em-comum”.

ABSTRACT Languages without Borders (LwB) was created in 2014, replacing English without Borders (BRASIL, 2012), and amplified in 2016. From 2019, the program became Andifes LwB Network. The documents which alter IsF present changes with regard to internationalization orientations. In this context, it is worth reflecting on how practices take place in IsF nuclei within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). In this sense, this paper aims to analyze the preparation of an English course for internationalization purposes within IsF in a HEI from the northeast of Brazil. This is a qualitative study characterized as action research (BURNS, 2015; LAVILLE; DIONNE, 1999; PAIVA, 2019), which involves the study of field notes, document collection, and teaching logs (FREEMAN, 1998). The results indicate the preparation of a course that works on language social practices in the academic environment. It also seeks for a transdisciplinary approach and a critical concept of internationalization, with emphasis on the reflection of global issues, the role of universities, students, and the language.

RESUMO O programa Idiomas sem Fronteiras (IsF) foi criado em 2014, substituindo o Inglês sem Fronteiras (BRASIL, 2012), e ampliado em 2016. A partir de 2019, o programa tornou-se a Rede Andifes IsF. Os documentos que alteram o IsF apresentam mudanças com relação a suas orientações para internacionalização. Cabe, nesse contexto, refletir sobre como a prática ocorre nos núcleos da rede em Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES). Nesse sentido, este artigo busca analisar a preparação de um curso de inglês para fins de internacionalização no âmbito do IsF em uma IES do Nordeste. Esta é uma pesquisa qualitativa, caracterizada como pesquisa-ação (BURNS, 2015; LAVILLE; DIONNE, 1999; PAIVA, 2019), que envolve o estudo de notas de campo, compilação de documentos e registro de ensino (FREEMAN, 1998). Os resultados indicam a preparação de um curso que parte de práticas sociais de uso da língua no ambiente acadêmico, além de buscar uma abordagem transdisciplinar e uma concepção crítica de internacionalização, com ênfase na reflexão sobre problemas globais, o papel das universidades e dos próprios alunos, assim como o da língua.

ABSTRACT The objective of this interview is to promote the area of Stylistics in Brazil and to foster interest in studies aimed at the integration of linguistic, literary and pedagogical perspectives. In this direction, Sonia Zyngier shares her personal and academic journey into Stylistics and the teaching of literature. This journey has led her to establish international partnerships and to participate in scientific associations, among them, the Poetics and Linguistics Association. Until today, she researches, publishes and edits works that greatly contribute to the understanding of various issues concerning style in language and its multifunctional relations with innumerable human and social phenomena, including cognition, emotion, the teaching and learning of language and literature, gender, the environment, to name just a few. Thus, this interview foregrounds the role of Stylistics in several areas, which contributes significantly to Applied Linguistics.

RESUMO Esta entrevista busca contribuir para a divulgação da Estilística em território brasileiro e fomentar o interesse em pesquisas que busquem a integração das perspectivas linguística, literária e pedagógica. É nesse espírito que Sonia Zyngier compartilha um pouco de sua jornada pessoal e acadêmica nas trilhas da Estilística e do ensino de literatura. Esse percurso a levou a estabelecer parcerias internacionais e a participar de associações científicas, entre elas, da Poetics and Linguistics Association (Associação de Poética e Linguística). Até hoje, pesquisa, publica e edita obras que em muito contribuem para o entendimento de questões variadas em torno do estilo na linguagem e suas relações multifuncionais com inúmeros fenômenos humanos e sociais, incluindo cognição, emoção, ensino e aprendizagem de língua e literatura, gênero, meio ambiente, para mencionar apenas algumas. Assim, esta entrevista evidencia a atuação da Estilística em diversas áreas, o que contribui significativamente para a Linguística Aplicada.

ABSTRACT “Ontological narratives are personal stories that we tell ourselves about our place in the world and our own personal history”. This definition, among the four types of narratives presented by Mona Baker (2006), is the one she brings to translation studies, along with other concepts developed mainly in sociology. The author proposes socionarrative as a process encompassing several texts and enabling the narrator-translator to take a stand when faced with conflicting situations whose narratives are reproduced or built by means of translation and interpretation. After discussing the presence of affects and emotions in translation practice, we present an ontological narrative of an experience lived by one of the authors, which was, in a first moment, interpreted by herself as a reaction at the level of ethics and rationality, and that came to be ressignified, after a questioning from one examiner of the committee who discussed her Memorial, about what the author-translator had felt in that situation. With the help of reflections developed in the Human Sciences in general (AHMED 2014), and in the field of translation in particular (ROBINSON, 1991; 2003; 2020), the main objective of this article is to discuss the reactions of the translator and of some readers of the translated text, as well as their possible impacts on the conceptual narratives about translation.

RESUMO “Narrativas ontológicas são histórias pessoais que contamos a nós mesmos sobre nosso lugar no mundo e nossa história pessoal”. Essa definição, entre os quatro tipos de narrativas abordadas por Mona Baker (2006), é a que ela traz para os estudos da tradução, juntamente com outros conceitos desenvolvidos sobretudo na sociologia. A autora defende a socionarrativa como um processo que abrange diversos textos e que possibilita ao narrador-tradutor tomar posição frente a situações de conflito, cujas narrativas são reproduzidas ou construídas por meio da tradução e da interpretação. Depois de discutir a incidência dos afetos e emoções na prática da tradução, apresentamos uma narrativa ontológica de um fato acontecido com uma das autoras, que foi, num primeiro momento, interpretado por ela mesma como uma reação no nível da ética e da racionalidade, e acabou sendo ressignificado, após uma indagação de um examinador na arguição de seu Memorial a respeito do que a autora-tradutora havia sentido naquela situação. Com o auxílio de reflexões desenvolvidas nas Ciências Humanas em geral (AHMED, 2014), e na tradução, em particular (ROBINSON, 1991; 2003; 2020), o objetivo principal deste artigo é trazer para a discussão as reações da tradutora e de alguns leitores do texto traduzido e possíveis impactos para as narrativas conceituais sobre tradução.

ABSTRACT In this article, I elaborate on the awareness that, as a White man, my materiality takes part in a socioeconomic and political system that, regardless of personal merit, benefits me, unlike the vast majority of Black men and women, whose rights are marginalized. The questions I propose to answer are: in what way, despite being a White man, does translating the poetry of Black women produce affects that overcome these oppositions? Despite my own limitations, such a translation experience entails the possibility of a relationship described by monk and activist Thich Nhat Hanh (1991) as interbeing, which suggests the Buddhist concept of sunyata, meaning “emptiness of inherent existence” (CARLUCCI, 2022). All beings, according to Mahayana Buddhist philosophy, are interconnected at a deeper level of (inter)existence in that, between the Self and the Other, despite all differences, they maintain an existential connection in which they affect one another. Here, I purposefully play with the sense of “affect” and “being affected by” to reflect on love, as invited by African American activist, anti-racist, teacher, and artist bell hooks (2000), whose writings on love reverberate the issues I intend to discuss.

RESUMO Neste artigo desenvolvo, em um primeiro momento, a consciência de que, como homem branco, minha materialidade participa de um sistema socioeconômico e político que, a despeito dos meus méritos pessoais, dele sou beneficiário, ao contrário da imensa maioria de homens e mulheres negras que se encontram à margem dos seus direitos. As questões que me proponho responder são: de que forma, mesmo sendo homem e branco, traduzir a poesia de mulheres negras pode produzir afetos que transbordam a oposição homem branco vs mulher negra? Buscarei discutir que, a despeito das limitações que se podem atribuir a mim, haveria, ali, nessa experiência tradutória, a possibilidade de uma relação de interexistência, tal como discutida pelo monge budista Thich Nhat Hanh (1991), a qual remonta, historicamente, ao conceito shunyata, que, no budismo, significa “vazio de existência inerente” (CARLUCCI, 2022). Todos os seres, segundo a filosofia budista mahayana, são, antes, interconectados em um nível mais profundo da (inter)existência, de forma que entre o Eu e Outro, a despeito de todas as diferenças, mantêm, entre si, formas de conexão existencial em que tanto um quanto o outro se afetam mutuamente. Aqui, jogo, propositalmente com os sentidos de “afeto” e “afetar” para refletir a respeito do amor, tal como nos convida a ativista afro-americana, antirracista, professora e artista bell hooks (2000), cujos escritos sobre o amor reverberam as questões que pretendo discutir.

ABSTRACT This article revisits the movie Mulan (Disney, 1998), by comparing the translation of the song I’ll make a man out of you in German (Sei ein Mann), French (Comme um homme), and Portuguese (Homem ser). Such comparison makes it possible to think about meaning equivalences. The translations converged around the convention of masculinity and the social construction of what it meant to be a man, supported by signs that refer to nature. This paper compares the ways in which versions of the song translated a warlike Chinese ideal of masculinity that made pedagogy of an American ideal of masculinity and success. The context is ideal for gender pedagogy because, in the Confucian Chinese culture, bringing honor to the family was achieved only through impeccable performance of the gender roles. The methodology used in the analysis mixes affective triggers of discourse, queer linguistics, and activist criticism. Among the findings is the presence of bellicose signs and nature in the construction of an idealized masculinity. Also notable is the narrative maintenance of a gendered destiny despite the constitutive flaws of the course. Ultimately, this politically engaged analysis (BAKER, 2013; BALDO, 2020) envisions denouncing the silencing of queer understandings of success as well as the inconsistencies constitutive of gender systems and their cultural translatability that are Disney’s institutional project.

RESUMO Este artigo revisita a tradução da música I’ll make a man out of you em alemão (Sei ein Mann), francês (Comme um homme) e português (Homem ser), do filme Mulan (Disney, 1998) para pensar equivalências de sentido. Tais equivalências convergem em torno da convenção da masculinidade e da construção social do que significa ser homem e são sustentadas por signos que remetem à natureza. Este artigo compara as formas como as versões da música traduziram um ideal de masculinidade chinês bélico que fazia pedagogia de um ideal americano de masculinidade e de sucesso. O contexto é ideal para a pedagogia de gênero, pois assume-se que na cultura chinesa de Confúcio se conseguia trazer honra à família apenas através do desempenho impecável do papel de gênero. A metodologia para análise mistura gatilhos afetivos do discurso, linguística queer e crítica ativista. Entre as conclusões ressalta-se a presença dos signos bélicos e da natureza na construção de ideais masculinos. Também é notável a manutenção narrativa de um destino de gênero apesar das falhas constitutivas do percurso. Em última instância, esta análise, politicamente engajada (BAKER, 2013; BALDO, 2020) prevê denunciar o silenciamento de versões queer de sucesso e de incoerências constitutivas dos sistemas de gênero e sua tradutibilidade cultural, como projeto institucional da Disney.

ABSTRACT Teaching Portuguese as an Additional Language in an academic context requires contemplating uses of this language in oral and written productions that involve different degrees of abstraction and semantic complexity. These practices are interconnected by two aspects: by the way in which practical, horizontal and everyday knowledge prevails in high school and theoretical, vertical, and abstract knowledge in higher education; and also because it is an additional language. These challenges lie in the semantic dimension that conceives these practices as semantic waves whose organizing principles comprise semantic gravity (SG) and semantic density (SD) (MATON, 2013; 2020). The aim of this study is to discuss how semantic waves can be evidenced in a Portuguese as an Additional Language course organized into topics, offered to firstyear undergraduate students at a British university. The analysis focuses on samples of the teaching materials and some tasks completed by learners to demonstrate how knowledge initially characterized by strong semantic density is “unpacked” (MATON, 2020) through different examples and practical uses. The contribution concerns the benefit of taking semantic waves into account when planning an additional language course, since most studies focus on other areas of knowledge, but little on the teaching of languages, especially Portuguese as an Additional Language.

RESUMO Práticas de ensino de Português como Língua Adicional (PLA) em contexto acadêmico requerem contemplar usos desta língua em produções orais e escritas que envolvem diversos graus de abstração e complexidade semânticas. Essas práticas estão interligadas por dois aspectos: pelo modo como o conhecimento prático, horizontal e do cotidiano prepondera no ensino médio e o conhecimento teórico, vertical e abstrato no ensino universitário, pelo fato de se tratar de uma língua adicional. Esses desafios situam-se na dimensão da semântica que concebe essas práticas como ondas semânticas cujos princípios organizadores compreendem a gravidade semântica (GS) e a densidade semântica (DS) (MATON, 2013; 2020). O objetivo deste estudo é discutir como as ondas semânticas podem ser evidenciadas em um curso de PLA organizado em tópicos, ofertado para alunos do primeiro ano de graduação em uma universidade britânica. A análise contempla amostras do material didático e algumas tarefas implementadas para demonstrar como o conhecimento inicialmente caracterizado por densidade semântica forte é “desempacotado” (MATON, 2020) por meio de diferentes exemplos e usos práticos. A contribuição diz respeito ao benefício de levar as ondas semânticas em consideração ao se planejar um curso de língua adicional, visto que estudos, em sua maioria, focalizaram outras áreas do conhecimento, mas pouco a área de línguas, em especial, PLA.

ABSTRACT In this article, I describe the translation process from Portuguese into Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) of the song Zumbi, composed and recorded by Jorge Ben Jor in 1974 and re-recorded by Ellen Oléria in 2013. The social and intersubjective backdrop for this translation is my relationship, as an Afro-indigenous man, with my own ancestry and, as a sign language translator and interpreter, with the lack of access by the deaf community, for educational and linguistic reasons, to Afro- Brazilian culture and, for sensory and cultural aspects, to massive Brazilian popular music. This double identity dimension is intertwined with the possibility of publicizing anti-racist demonstrations and the defense of ethnic-racial guidelines on Black Awareness Day on widely accessible platforms such as social networks. The annotated translation presented here is theoretically based on the Bakhtinian conception of language, which understands that any semiosis is crossed and constituted by the social, historical, ideological, and alteritarian dimension; the Camposian concept of transcreation, which assumes that the complexity of a text expands the translator’s transcreative possibilities; and the concept of intermodality present in Sign Language Translation and Interpretation Studies (ETILS), which observes the impossibility of splitting text and body in gesture-visual languages. I describe the translation process of the song pointing out the linguistic and narrative elements of the song and the Libras version, and highlighting the visual references that supported the linguistic-discursive choices in the target text.

RESUMO Neste artigo descrevo o processo de tradução da canção Zumbi, composta e gravada por Jorge Ben Jor em 1974 e regravada por Ellen Oléria em 2013, para a língua brasileira de sinais (Libras). O pano de fundo social e intersubjetivo para essa tradução é a minha relação, como homem afro-indígena, com a minha própria ancestralidade e, como tradutor e intérprete de língua de sinais, com a falta de acesso da comunidade surda, por questões educacionais e linguísticas, à cultura afrobrasileira e, por questões sensoriais e culturais, às músicas populares brasileiras massivas. Essa dupla dimensão identitária se imbrica na possibilidade de publicizar manifestações antirracistas e de defesa de pautas étnico-raciais no Dia da Consciência Negra em plataformas de amplo acesso como as das redes sociais. A tradução comentada aqui apresentada fundamentase, teoricamente, na concepção bakhtiniana de linguagem, que entende que qualquer semiose é atravessada, constituída e sustentada na alteridade e nas dimensões social, histórica e ideológica, o conceito camposiano de transcriação, que assume que a complexidade de um texto amplia as possibilidades transcriativas do tradutor e o conceito de intermodalidade presente nos Estudos da Tradução e da Interpretação da Língua de Sinais (ETILS), que observa a impossibilidade de cisão entre texto e corpo em línguas de modalidade gesto-visual. Descrevo o processo de tradução da canção apontando para os elementos linguísticos e narrativos da canção e da versão em Libras evidenciando as referências visuais que sustentaram as escolhas linguístico-discursivas no texto-alvo.

ABSTRACT Much research on audio description (AD) has been developed in the field of Translation Studies (FRYER, 2016; ORERO & MATAMALA, 2016). However, there are few bibliographic references regarding AD of the horror genre (MICHALEWICZ, 2015). With the aim of promoting a discussion about the translation of particular characteristics of the horror genre, eight audio describers were interviewed about their experiences with horror AD. Thematic analysis was adopted as methodology, and nine themes were selected based on bibliography on horror in cinema (CHERRY, 2009) and on the answers of the interviewees in order to guide our reflection on the topic: 1) Genre; 2) Effect; 3) Language; 4) Cinematographic Language; 5) Content; 6) Soundtrack; 7) Silence; 8) Voice; and 9) Prosody. According to the interviewees, the horror genre influences the work of the audio describer in many respects.

RESUMO Muitas pesquisas sobre audiodescrição (AD) têm sido desenvolvidas no âmbito dos Estudos da Tradução (FRYER, 2016; ORERO & MATAMALA, 2016), entretanto, há poucas referências bibliográficas no que concerne à AD do gênero terror (MICHALEWICZ, 2015). Com vistas a promover uma discussão acerca da tradução de características particulares do gênero terror, foram feitas entrevistas com oito audiodescritores a respeito de sua experiência com AD de terror. Adotou-se como metodologia a análise temática, de modo que nove temas foram selecionados com base em bibliografia sobre terror no cinema (CHERRY, 2009) e nas respostas dos entrevistados para nortearem nossa reflexão sobre o assunto: 1) Gênero; 2) Efeito; 3) Linguagem; 4) Linguagem Cinematográfica; 5) Conteúdo; 6) Trilha Sonora; 7) Silêncio; 8) Voz; e 9) Prosódia. Os dados indicam que os entrevistados consideram que o gênero do produto audiovisual influencia o trabalho do audiodescritor.

ABSTRACT Although 20th-century scientific discourse disregarded affect as unscientific, and despite this being contested by thinkers such as Nietzsche and Spinoza, only recently could we scientifically argue that affect is inseparable from cognition and building knowledge. This article aims at analyzing how my own practices were embodied and mediated by affect when translating into Brazilian Portuguese the diary of Virginia Woolf. I embarked on it as part of my doctoral research with a concept of “impartiality” in translation that was undermined when I was faced with the diary’s manuscripts. Positioning myself was inescapable after encountering a text I had only known in print and in an impersonal form; a body of work theoretically of private nature, written along 44 years, with its gaps, blots, and oscillating handwriting. This article has the double aim of contributing to studies on translation and affect reflecting on possible ways of using Derrida’s undecidability as a translational strategy, using as an illustration my own process of translating Woolf’s diary, while also helping to reflect on how the affect theory may expand previous considerations made by Woolf herself and other thinkers such as L. Zimmermann, G. Spivak, and H. de Campos.

RESUMO Embora o discurso científico do século XX tenha descartado o afeto por considerá-lo não científico, e apesar de tal posição haver sido contestada por pensadores como Nietzsche e Spinoza, apenas recentemente pôde-se argumentar cientificamente que o afeto é inseparável tanto da cognição quanto da própria construção do conhecimento. Este artigo objetiva analisar como minhas próprias práticas tradutórias foram mediadas pelo afeto ao traduzir para o português brasileiro o diário de Virginia Woolf. O projeto foi conduzido como parte de minha pesquisa de doutorado, durante a qual minha ideia inicial de “imparcialidade” na tradução caiu por terra perante os manuscritos do diário woolfiano. Diante de um texto que até então eu só conhecia impresso e de forma impessoal, de uma obra teoricamente de natureza privada, escrita ao longo de 44 anos, com suas lacunas, borrões e caligrafia oscilante, não me foi mais possível não tomar posição. Este artigo pretende contribuir para os estudos sobre tradução e afeto pensando possibilidades de utilizar a indecidibilidade de Derrida como estratégia tradutória, valendo-se de meu processo de tradução dos diários de Woolf como ilustração, ao mesmo tempo em que busca refletir como a teoria do afeto pode expandir considerações anteriores feitas pela própria Woolf e por pensadores como L. Zimmermann, G. Spivak e H. de Campos.
